Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The deal was great. But the room didn't have a microwave which was a bummer because the food was so expensive at the park.
- Barb (10/5): - We had a great family weekend. We will be returning in the summer to check out the waterpark. We loved the mazes this year and appreciate all the time and effort put into them.
- Lan (10/5): - We had a great time and the service was good. The location of the hotel was great to the park and was very convenient. We will go back.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Housekeeping did not clean our room. Came at 5:30 pm when it was raining and we had nowhere to go. Had just brought food to room to rest dinner. We had been out most of the day and they were cleaning the room across the hall from us when we stopped in briefly in the middle of the day so we expected our room to be cleaned. When we complained at check-out the desk clerk said it was a very busy day yesterday and I was not here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice property with awesome people, kids had a blast. I'm they hero
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The service was great - everyone was happy and helpful. The property had a nice feel, but it’s abit aged. Eating arrangements were disappointing... there is no restaurant onsite, just a snack bar that does some breakfast and sandwiches.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We liked the whole experience of the park. One recommendation would be for a sit down restaurant in the hotel.
- Michelle (6/5): - The trip was ok but had to complain twice to management before things were done and still had to go down and get things they forgot shouldhave a small table to eat at or play cards or do on line work
- Verified traveler (4/5): Noisy - Paper thin walls let you hear everything going on, even during quiet hours. The plush was the shuttle to and from concert and walking distance to park. The food was expensive and not worth the money, room furniture was very dusty, a positive was they gave us enough towels for the number of patrons.
- Denise (8/5): - Hotel is a little tired but very cozy and comfortable. The atmosphere is very relaxing. A great stay!
- Marc (8/5): - We had a great stay! Only a short walk to the park which makes it very convenient. Would stay there again for sure.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel needs updating. Rooms are outdated, but functional.
- Karen (10/5): Very good location , all information is good, nice - Good Hotel, children enjoy the park well, clean hotel
- Karen (10/5): - We enjoyed ourselves very much and decided to return next year but for a longer stay. I had read some bad reviews prior to going here but I was pleasantly surprised at how nice everything was. I would recommend to friends. And the fishing was great!
- Jason (8/5): Soccer Tourney get away. - Lodge has cool lobby décor and the area is quiet and is a good place for a short family get away. The rooms were average in cleanliness (I travel a lot, so expectations are high) and the room we had was definitely dated. The couch was tattered and needed replaced. My kids loved it and said the beds were comfy, so overall not a bad stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel - The hotel it's self was vary nice and clean. Only issue we had was getting different information for each worker. For example when I called to book hotel I was told there wasn't going to be a laser light show the night of our stay. When we got there we were told that there was and it starts at 9pm when it actually started at 8pm so we missed it and had to disappointed kids. The website stated check out was at 3pm do to it being the last day while checking in costumer service stated check out was 11am so I had called front desk later that night to ask if we could have an extra hour in the morning and was told check out was at 3pm so staff just needs to be updated on info so customers don't miss things. Other then that the stay was nice rooms were clean and comfortable
- Michelle (6/5): The proximity to the park was great. The room was - Our room was not clean. There were cobwebs everywhere. A huge wet, red stain on the carpet and one of the blankets. 3 towels for 4 people. No washcloths at all. Staff was great though.Housekeeping needs to step up their game. The hotel is also very very outdated considering the cost to stay there. Not many options available for food without leaving the immediate area.
- st (6/5): - Room wasn't ready check in time was 3pm very disappointing. Didn't get in till 5
- Verified traveler (4/5): Dirty bankets and bugs - Something brown on blanket when we got there. Was changed immediately after we requested it. In evening I noticed several mosquitos and nats in room. I called front desh, she said it happens nothing they can do when there is someone in there. A few min later I noticed each corner of the ceiling were covered in the bugs and then noticed some on bedposts. I called from desk back and they sent someone to look. They then came back and helped me move to a different room. The we found out there wasn't free breakfast included. Outside pool area smelled like sewage.was not worth what we paid.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - My family and I were quite comfortable in the hotel. We didn't spend much time there as we were at the park most of the time. The room and bathroom was clean and spacious. I just wish the vending machines down the hall were less expensive, but I guess that's to be expected when you're on vacation.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Darien lake NO comparison to Disney like ad says - Bathroom shower too noisy woke everyone or kept them up
Sofa bed was horrid actual beds were ok
Room was clean but service very slow
Buffet breakfast expensive for kids frozen pancakes and French toast sticks scrambled eggs substitute breads bacon with some fruit and pastiries ... Cheaper and better when we went to dennys
- lor (8/5): Good hotel - Hotel was clean and staff were awesome! All roooms should come with breakfast for the price you are charged. Rooms are small but very clean.
- Justine (10/5): Great stay! - We chose to stay at the Lodge at Darien Lake because we were going to a concert at the amphitheater. I can honestly say, our 16 hours there were close to perfect. Each and every staff person was friendly and helpful. Comfortable & clean. The decor is "Lodge by Cabela's" and you could hear a lot of hallway and outdoor noise in the room. I would attend a concert here anytime and stay on site.
- Margaret (6/5): Not what I expected - The hotel was nice alittle overpriced and I was upset that when I booked the room it was supposed to be for 2 nites and I only got a reservation for one nite ! Very disappointed that there was no gym or hot tub or heated pool !
- Orlando (8/5): Pretty nice hotel. - Nice hotel but could use new microwaves as the one on 3rd floor didn't spin. Overall a good hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel - Good hotel not alot of dining options in the area but that's what you get irs a campground oriented resort but very spacious and never had to leave park area facility defiantly recommend for a family quick stay
- jen (6/5): Need shuttle service for after conerts - Went to concert at Darien Lake. Concert ended 11pm & it was raining, the walkway was slippery. Was made to walk more than 1/2 mile around park to get to hotel. Very dim lighting on pathway. The hotel should provide shuttle service for concert goers who are staying at hotel. They made it VERY inconvenient. Espically when it was raining.
- Thomas (8/5): Worth the trip - Everything to do with the lodging was excellent. Could use more food options. Rooms were comfy and clean. Staff was excellent and very helpful.
- Tiffany (10/5): - Beautiful hotel and just a short pretty walk to the amusement park :)
- Might go back (6/5): Stay for the park not the room or amenities. - Very average room, tiny cramped bathroom. Horrible hard, squeaky bed. Had to rearrange the couch to watch TV. Pool closed at 9:00 PM, too early and no hot tub.
- Daniel (8/5): More hype that deserved - Our stay started a little bumpy, we were told that at the reservation time our card didn't go through so technically we don't have any reservation (not that anyone bothered to tell us, and we received our hotels.com confirmation and reminder emails as usual, so how could we think anything was not OK - funny though, the same card they had on file worked just fine when we asked them to try it, I won't go into conspiracy theories here and suggest they needed to give our room to someone else only to give us lame excuses after...) but they promised to fix it. Except they didn't have a pool view room available (we paid extra just for that feature) and the price was slightly higher than when we originally booked it (in January of 2017). In the end, after one hour spent on the phone with a hotels.com agent who contacted the hotel staff, they finally agreed to try and fix their own issue and they provided us with free breakfast vouchers and 10% back on our hotel price, for the different room type (regular vs. pool view) - we didn't check the card statements to make sure the 10% was actually reimbursed, will update this review soon if that doesn't happen. The rest of our stay was uneventful, we had lots of fun and even though the room was not extremely clean (we even found someone else's used bandaid on the floor, not the first thing I am looking to step on when I walk in a hotel room), the pool area was great. To be honest, for the money we paid, we expected maybe a little more.
- SP (8/5): Better then I expected - Was not sure looking at hotel pics but rooms were good size and clean. Could use some better pillows and better refrigerators. Great access to the theme park. Could have more options for food at the hotel or at least a breakfast place as nothing is near by.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel! - Loved our stay at Darien Lake Lodge! We got upgraded to the room with the bunk beds. We were so excited! The kids loved it. We will definitely stay there again and have already recommended it to friends and family!
- Robert (4/5): Lousy - Got there at 1130 and parking lot was empty so hotel had to be too, to be told our room wasn't ready and check back at 3. Checked back at 3 and was told it still wasn't and to come back in an hour. Finally got our rom at 430
- Verified traveler (6/5): Concert night with friends - Overall we had a blast. I think a complimentary shuttle to and from the show would be awesome and a free breakfast.
- Robert (10/5): Great for crashing after concerts - Stayed the night after seeing Blink182. Great show and a comfortable room.
- Kathy (6/5): - The location of the hotel was great in regards to the park and was very convenient. I felt it could use some updating, but the pool area was nice. We would possibly stay again, but I think we would try the campground next time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We only went to the park, so we didn't check out any of the surrounding neighborhood.
- Diane (8/5): - Enjoyed my stay. WiFi weak.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful stay. - This is a great hotel and a great way to see Darien Lake. The park is only a few minute walk through a beautiful path by the lake. You get two days of theme park access for each night stay so you have time to see the park and sit by the pool.
- Jessica (8/5): - The room we stayed in smelled like mildew, the air condition blew out a moldy smell. The qb was broken at the end when sat down. The bed or sheets smelled like BO. Its to bad, bcause i like the lodge.
- Tiffany (10/5): Weekend away - This was a memorable weekend. Wish I could have stayed the whole weekend. Thank you
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a great time, no problems and the service was good. will go back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beds are comfy enjoyed our stay. Even tho was a bit expensive
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good to stay right in the amusement park, because it allowed resting during the day and going back after dinner, etc.
- stacy (8/5): Our stay at Darien Lake - Our stay was GREAT! We will definitely be returning. This time we stayed at the hotel but would like to enjoy either a cabin or RV next time. Our favorite was the enjoyment of watching the Light Show that was held at the end of every evening. It was such a joy and awesome to see.
- Michael (6/5): A Pleasant Stay - Convenien and easily assessable to the Amusement park. Walking distance to all the rides for the and park opens long hours so your family can get the most out of it. They had laser light show and fireworks during our stay on the weekend which was a bonus and the kids enjoyed it so much. If you stay 1 night you are admitted free both days to the park so it's well worth the stay. However, one downside is don't expect much of the food.
