Guest Reviews
- Santiago (10/5): - Great place!
- mark (2/5): - Things were ok here through 1 stay and half of another, when wifi suddenly went out. I sucked it up a few hours, noting it once to staff and getting brushed off. When nothing changed, and falling behind on work, I reported it again -- and was met with literally shrieking, hysterical insane abuse. They also simply denied the outage, saying it was working, which was *obvious*ly false -- but they refused more than a dozen times, while shrieking, to even look at my laptop with me, so I could show them the disconnect. They had to be well aware of it -- and has no interest in admitting it let alone doing anything about it.
So, partly to verify that the problem was the wifi not my machine, and partly to get some work done -- and feeling physically unsafe from the insanely hostile behavior -- I went out (despite *also* feeling unsafe for my stuff in the room, while away), on my bike in wet weather, to 3 diverse public places, getting online normally in all. Returning to the motel and finding still no change, I reported the outage yet again, this time as verified, and got even more abuse.
I had no Net there for my last 21 hr there. I'm in work with my MasterCard to remove at least 1 of my 2-night stay -- for the abuse even more than the lack of a critical basic advertised service. Part of the abuse was their insistence they'd sue if I removed any charge. Well, from the card's stance, it's as likely to be the *whole* charge as 1 night. And I can't wait to meet their lawyers.
- Allen (4/5): - Not particularly helpful or friendly and expensive for what you get which is basic and minimal
- Mike(Beamer) (10/5): - A hot shower and bed are all I need, so I don't need much. For the price, it is everything I needed.
- Brad (6/5): - Other thwn having some issues with the door lock in the beginning and the bed being terrible it was a nice small room.
- Leslie (10/5): - Very nice staff and the rooms were great, clean, and comfortable! Will definitely return.
- Tina (10/5): - Room was very clean, check in very friendly and welcoming.
- Kyla (4/5): - Really steep hill getting in and out. Blind corners to get around getting out. Property staff was unfriendly when we had an issue getting into our room. Room was clean and very basic.
- Loretta (10/5): - It looks old & unkept.
The lady who waited on us plus the cleaning staff were great. We couldn’t have been treated any better.
Property definitely needs updated.
- Jessie (8/5): - Tiny but clean little room. Great friendly front desk lady. Only bummer was no ac.
- Hong (8/5): - It's a good deal. The hotel is clean. There is no furniture in the room, but considering it's relatively cheap so it is OK. It's very close to 101 road, so it's a bit noisy.
- Ricelito (2/5): - The sheets were used and not cleaned. When we got in, you can still smell the body odor. The cleaning staff came in without knocking at 9 am while my wide was still sleeping.
- Crystal (10/5): - The place was.
Very nice.Everything was very cleane, stocked, staff was friendly, understanding, accommodating, would most definitely book here again! And will in the future!
- Regan (10/5): - Very clean and updated room. Driveway in and out was a little tricky. Would highly recommend for the price!!!! No AC, but didn’t need it anyway.
- Linda (6/5): - My only complaint is that there were only metal stools with no backs to sit on. Not comfortable at all, I put a multi-folded bath towel on one and used the wall for a back so I managed. A padded chair with a back would have been much nicer. The proprietor was very nice and the room, otherwise, was nice and clean.
- Nelda J. (10/5): Recent stay at Sea Echo Motel - Newport, OR - All around nice stay, very comfortable and extremely clean!
Bed was very comfortable!
What would have made it even better would have been stronger water pressure in the shower and a real chair to set in.
- gene (10/5): Perfect place to stay for a Casino Concert - I was just there for a concert at the Casino to avoid driving home late at night. it is within ez walking distance and a great alternative if you don't want to stay at Chinook Winds.
Ez check in and out. Clean room. Close parking. Not much else I can add. I left at sunrise.
- Yien (10/5): - I would come back again.
- John (8/5): - Clean and newly remodeledrooms
- John (8/5): - The room was absolutely bare bones, but since I only needed a bed, it was ok. Definitely not deluxe.
- Dawna (10/5): - Looking for a great budget motel in Lincoln City, OR? This one is super clean, well equipped for what is needed, comfortable bed, elevated up off 101 for a nice peekaboo view of the ocean and less traffic noise than those at street level. We loved our stay. No A/C but that is rarely a problem at the beach. Just open the front window and the door and let the ocean breeze come right it. No coffee machines in room...but the office keeps a warm pot, and a great coffee vendor (Human Bean) is just across the street.
- David (4/5): - Room had little to no furniture. Had to leave bags in floor. Poor lighting.
- Raeann (10/5): - Clean
- Dennis (4/5): - It was clean. Absolutely no amenities. Had to put our belongings on the floor because there was nowhere to put them. Very small table and two stools no chairs. Vanity in bathroom was super small and it was hard to find any room to put our toiletries which was actually minimal. Super steep driveway going into property and it had holes in the blacktop. Will not return.
- Christopher (10/5): - The rooms were incredibly clean and homely feeling compared to other motels I've stayed in recently.
- Patrick (10/5): - Clean and nice
- Marilene (6/5): The bed was comfy - Not what the pictures showed
- Britt (8/5): - Room was very clean and comfortable, staff is excellent and the price was great. The walls are just a little thin and I could hear the neighboring guests.
- matthew (8/5): - Cute little hotel. A but out of the way but nice. Hot water was SUPER limited, ran out WAY WAY before it should have
- Terence (6/5): - The hotel is extremely basic. Its clean, but doesn't even have air conditioning. We've traveled extensively, and haven't stayed in a hotel like this in 30 years.
- Emlyn (10/5): - Super basic hotel room but everything is new and very clean. A great deal for a fantastic location and warm, friendly service.
- Frank (6/5): - No Kleenex no ac no coffee in rooms, no counters, not enough outlets
- Darrell (6/5): - No air conditioning. The mattress was extremely thin and firm. Had a very difficult time going to sleep. The staff was very nice and helpful.
- Zoe (10/5): - Check-in was a breeze, and the room was clean and comfortable.
- Karla (10/5): - Customer service was prompt and attentive to everyone in the property
- Darrell (10/5): - A lot of stores and restaurants nearby. Very steep driveway but traffic noise was muted due to motel being above the highway
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice, minimal but, needs some air - We stayed here as a last minute trip to the coast. Check in was easy, the staff was great. The room was clean but, small. It was a warm muggy day on the coast and the room doesn't have air conditioning or a fan. We opened the window during the day and into the evening but it didn't help much. While this does sit up on a hillside off 101, we didn't want to sleep with our window open and there wasn't a stick/rod to prevent someone from coming in. The bathroom window also was broken and didn't lock. We ended up leaving at 11pm.
- Jon (10/5): - Would return
- Jonathan (4/5): - Tv did not function. It would not connect to wifi. When I tried to ask the staff about it they did not answer the office doorbell or answer their phone. They actually hid from us. The door locking mechanism was a nightmare and took at least ten minutes to open. I had to start not locking it at all.
- Amber (6/5): - The room was sparse but clean. They use a bottom sheet with a lightweight bedspread directly on top of it. They consider that the top sheet. That bedspread, when pulled up, reached about stomach height. There's a fluffy polyester blanket you can use for more warmth. I realize there are different ways of handling bedding, but it would have felt more sanitary to have an actual top sheet that I know has been washed in between each guest's stay.
Their bathroom towels are nice.
There is no air conditioning, but the screened window opens. We heard traffic all night long because the hotel is adjacent to Hwy 101.
Our timing for staying there was inconvenient because they had a host of issues with internet (including the TV) which someone worked on for hours. Even the touch code door lock would not work. The TV mostly worked starting about 7 pm, when a hotel staff person came to our room upon request. We understand that these things happen.
I believe the staff is highly motivated to help guests.
I'd rank this hotel as 3/5. It's clean and modest. I can't imagine how the ranking was 8.6 on Expedia.
- Michael (10/5): - Recently updated, very clean, excellent location, that was very comfortable.
- SRIDEVI (10/5): - Hi, This is a well maintained clean motel and is like the photos. The room is spacious, bed and pillows are comfortable and the shower has good hot water pressure. There is no tea kettle or coffee m/c in the room however you can get hot water at the office. There are heaters in both the room and bathroom which was needed as it did get cold at hight. The checkin was easy and the front desk person was very helpful and nice. Parking is right in front of each room. This motel is in front of the highway however the traffic noise was not loud at all. Would recommend ear plugs as the walls are not too thick. There is a drive thru coffee place right across the street, plenty of places to eat and a grocery store within a 1/4 mile. All in all, this place surprised me with its service, cleanliness and the quality of the room.
- Jack (10/5): Great location to stay - We used this location to base from while we explored things we were interested in on the coast between Lincoln City & Newport. The staff was very friendly & accommodating. I was amazed to learn that the rooms were remodeled 2 years ago. The room remodel seemed fresh enough to have been done this summer.
- Tammy (6/5): Early morning surprise - Clean and comfortable. Roku tv very convenient. Strangers double booked into our room, arrived with a master key at 1 am!! Management apologized and offered us 20% of next visit.
- Muge (10/5): - That was a great stay!
- Jaden (2/5): - Disgusting
- Caroline (8/5): - Room was super clean. Room was small but when ur at the beach ur not hangout at the room. Staff very nice. Short walk to beach, coffee spots an restaurant
- David (6/5): - Room was super clean and had been remodeled recently. No chairs. No coffee. Laminate furniture. Small shower. 3rd different hotel in 3 nights, and it pales in comparison to the other two that I paid the same price for. 3 star for value.
- Emily (10/5): - Stayed in Lincoln city as part of my trip up the OR coast. Cute motel right on the 101. Great check in. Simply updated rooms that were very clean. Little worried about no air conditioning, but slept with the window cracked and it was great! Would definitely stay again.
- David (8/5): - Nice enough place. Very "spartan-esque" room (basic bed, table, tv) --- but clean. This is a Hands-off kind of management style, would rather text info to you than be present at property......not necessarily my expectation of a way of presentation, but it is not terrible.
- Dylan (6/5): - The room was updated and modern, which was a +. And the bed was very comfortable.
A couple -'s, the door code did not work initally and I had to have the front desk lady get me a different one. Also, there was absolutely no A/C and fan in the room, so the air was stagnant while hearing everything outside and from your neighbors. Opening the front window for air made it worse since it was humid out. All in all, a decent place to stay. Although I doubtfully would stay there again.
- Ryan (6/5): - Small room, no ac, no ice machine. Room was very hot
- Rosemary (6/5): - Part of the prblem was mine. I didn't do enough research. Husband is in a power chair and there was a step up into the room. They were gracious about moving us to one of the 3 rooms that the an entrances we could use. Once we were in there we couldn't movearound.
- Elizabeth (6/5): - If all you’re looking for is a place to sleep, this hotel is fine. The bed was one of those fold out beds from Amazon, it creaked every time we moved. Walls are paper thin. There was no ice and no coffee. Staff was great and room was clean but the motel definitely needs an upgrade.
- Jeanna (10/5): - The building is definitely older, but is well maintained and clean. I couldn’t hear my neighbors like some of the other reviews said. I would recommend it.
- Robi (8/5): - Very basic room. But worked for what we needed for q night. Very clean, staff were very nice and helpful.
- Samuel (10/5): - Thank you so much for a great experience
- Nichole (6/5): - Small and empty wifi didnt work and the hot water came and gone
- Lawrence (6/5): - The room needs additions to make it more comfortable
- Chelsea (10/5): - Great location and great price. Simple but very comfortable.
- kenneth (8/5): - Room was clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable.
- Maureen (10/5): - It was recently remodeled and while not fancy, it was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the area was quiet at night while sleeping.
I also enjoyed chatting with the owner, Muncy.
She was a hard worker and very invested in seeing her motel be successful. I highly recommend and will stay again!
- Surbhi (8/5): - It was a good stay
- Valerie (8/5): - Liked everything except coffee available only in the lobby & not ready until 7am so we head to wait on that. Mancie is very nice friendly !
- Emily (10/5): - Nice clean place to stay the night. Staff was very nice. Would stay again

- mark (10/5): - Good location in the middle of town, privacy, the manager Sabrina went the extra mile on check-in process and flexible to really help accommodate our needs.. after our hard day of travel..
Thank you too Sabrina and staff for our enjoyable stay. Will stay again!
- William (10/5): - Lincoln city a beautiful city
- Travis (10/5): - Checked me in despite being after hours. They typically close at 8pm but Orbitz booked for me at 930. Luckily caught them in office at 10 pm..very friendly.
- Gary (10/5): - Great staff. Always welcome you. Good WI-FI. Looking forward to staying there very soon. Love the humming bird feeders they have hanging from the eve's. 🙂❤️
- Kimbera E (8/5): - Easy access. Nice beds.
- Dublin (10/5): Best cheap room on the Oregon coast - So this is a relatively cheap motel in a own full of expensive run-down motels. It's not fancy. It's budget friendly but I was blown away by Sea Echo. The bed was amazing. Relatively new memory foam that had me sleeping like a baby!!. Clean rooms. Clean laundry. Great HOT showers. New digital code locks on all rooms. I have stayed in $300 motels in coastal Beach towns that were total crap, so this was a pleasant surprise for the low low cost. We will absolutely stay at Sea Echo every time we come through Lincoln City!
- Howard (10/5): - 5 Stars. A nice clean quiet inexpensive stay. You can hear the sound of the ocean right from the room. The hosts are super friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
- James (10/5): - Proximity to a variety of establishments, lovely and clean little town here at Lincoln City. Friendly folks!
- Karen (10/5): Our adventure:) - This is our second time here and will be back. We look for basic clean places to stay and this is the best by far.
- Jose (10/5): - All ok
- Brenda (8/5): - Easy place to find and close to the casino.
- Ozie Mae (10/5): - Very friendly manager. Very clean and nice room, comfy bed. It was quiet.
- Karen (10/5): We will be back😁 - Our stay exceeded our expectations… The room was simple, but just right for us… Very clean and just overall a great experience we have already made a reservation to come back.
The only things that I would recommend is another nightstand with a lamp that way both sides of the bed would have them and possibly a broom and dust pan to sweep up the sand that we track in from the beach:) and maybe a small coffee pot:)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - nicest cheap motel ever!
- Larauna (10/5): - I liked that the property was nice and quiet for my first trip to the beach by myself.
- Tiffany (8/5): - I don’t think you’ll find a better place for the price. The room was very basic but very clean. Coffee at the office in the morning, incredibly easy check in and check out. Just perfect for a quick one night at the coast for a concert.
- Milan (8/5): - privacy
- William (10/5): Great place great value - We had a wonderful stay. We were in town for the Lincoln City Invitational for 9 ball. Any thing we asked about was taken cared of right away. Couldn't ask for a nicer place to stay. Very nice owners and a great value. Will definitely stay there again
- Michael (4/5): - The towels were thirsty. The bed sucked. No coffee in room. Meh!
- daniel (10/5): - Cute place
- Cheryl Ann (8/5): - We got to motel early and Jamal sped us right through before 3PM check-in. My sister and I had a very nice stay at the motel. Thank you and we will be back.
- Utkarsh (10/5): - Awesome experience at Sea Echo Motel. I stayed there for 8 days and the housekeeping lady was very kind, dropping off fresh towels everyday and making sure all our needs were taken care of. Way better than expected from a motel.
- Christine (6/5): - A great budget motel. No frills, very small. The bed was uncomfortable for my needs but may be fine for someone else. Friendly staff with clean facilities and grounds. I recommend this stay.
- Kathy (6/5): - The room was clean, small, zero counter space.
- April (6/5): Overall stay - Everything was fine except for the bed! The bed in #2 was horrible! The mattress kept me awake all night. It just seems that room could use a new mattress! Other than the mattress our stay was fine! You could also use a chair!
Thank you!
- Marissa (10/5): - Love this place :) my go-to at the beach :) dog friendly l!
