- taylorcT8479BI (2/5): Awful experience - I had an extremely disappointing experience at Embassy Suites by Hilton McAllen Convention Center, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this location. Upon check-in, it was immediately clear that the room had not been properly cleaned. The bathroom was in poor condition, and to make matters worse, the shower drain was clogged, making it unpleasant and inconvenient to use. Later during our stay, after attending the evening reception, my family and I attempted to enjoy the pool and hot tub—one of the main amenities advertised. Unfortunately, both the pool and hot tub had vomit in them, making them completely unusable. This was not only disgusting but unacceptable for a hotel charging over $200 per night. What made the situation even worse was the complete lack of customer service and follow-up. I attempted multiple times to reach management, leaving my name and number with the front desk, but received no response for over two weeks. When I finally spoke with the manager, Edward Hernandez, the situation was handled very poorly. He stated that nothing could be done unless I had photo evidence of the vomit in the pool—an unreasonable expectation—and offered no compensation, refund, or even loyalty points. For the price paid, this experience was completely unacceptable. The hotel is poorly maintained, and the customer service is even worse. I have stayed at many Embassy Suites locations across the U.S., and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. DO NOT STAY HERE. AVOID THIS DIRTY, POORLY KEPT HOTEL AT ALL COSTS.

Everything about this place was top-tier—from the clean, comfortable rooms to the overall atmosphere. The staff was amazing—super friendly, welcoming, and always on point. The happy hour was a great touch, and the made-to-order breakfast was phenomenal… easily one of the best parts of the stay. You can tell they really care about the guest experience here. I’d definitely stay again without hesitation!

However, it’s packed with large families and children, and the stay feels more like being at a daycare center than at a business Hilton hotel. For families, the hotel is certainly one of a kind. But if you’re looking for peace and quiet and a good hotel where you can sleep soundly and enjoy your stay, this isn’t the place for you. Children stomp around and run through the hallways as if it were a playground. The rooms are clean and very spacious. A standard room category is sufficient, as all rooms are identical and there are no differences between the categories. The "Premium" option simply means you get a few snacks delivered to your room, worth about $10. So it’s not worth it. For large families with 2–3 children, this hotel is certainly wonderful. For everyone else, it’s not suitable. Check-in takes forever because long lines form. The staff shows no interest in speeding up the process. I arrived at 3 p.m. and had to wait two hours.

I first met her when she was working as a bartender, and she always provided excellent service with a warm personality and genuine professionalism. Recently, I saw that she is now working at the front desk, and she continues to deliver that same high level of service. Ivonnia always greets guests with a smile and makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. She is attentive, respectful, and clearly committed to helping others. It’s rare to come across someone who is not only professional but also truly genuine in how they treat people. She takes pride in her work, and it shows in every interaction. Employees like Ivonnia make a big difference in the overall experience of a hotel. Embassy Suites is fortunate to have her on its team.

El que nos atendio (no era su culpa) pero se estaba tardando demasiado porque no sabia que hace rpor elhecho de que el clima no funcionaba en todo el hotel.

The whole ambiance of the hotel was very inviting. This was twice we had small issues with either television or network problems but the staff took care of it immediately this time around.

- David (4/5): Muy mala experiencia. - Tiene buen desayuno aunque se hacen largas filas y tienes que esperar. Lo recomendable es llegar temprano entre 6 y 830am para que no te toque tan lleno. El tamaño de la habitación es grande y cómodo. Tuve muy malas experiencias desde la primera noche no funcionaba bien el aire acondicionado y al momento de pedir apoyo al personal de recepción, solamente me dijeron que era una falla en el sistema de los aires y no podían hacer nada. Pedí cambio de habitación y me dijeron que el hotel se encontraba lleno. Creo que manejaron muy mal la situación. Además, otra queja que reporté fue que los dispensarios de shampoo del baño estaban vacíos y nunca los rellenaron las camareras. Hace muchos años en los finales de los 90s y principios de 2000 el embassy Suites era garantía de calidad. Ahora ya decayó mucho. O por lo.menos yo tuve una muy mala experiencia. Hay muchas opciones de hoteles en Mcallen que te brindan un mejor servicio a un mejor costo que el Embassy.

People were scavenging a few left over potatoes but there was no pottery at all. A disgrace not worth of an hotel at this price.

- Jerrold (3/5): Initially bad experience, we weren't able to check in until after 5. - Bad experience from the start which caused us to be late to our function which ruined our stay there. My wife and I weren't able to check in until after 5 because a college football team was allowed a late check out, which caused us to be late to our evening function. We were not informed of the situation until arriving the hotel and after traveling three hours. I was disappointed
