Tillie the dog was a delightful bonus! Much more homely and welcoming than a hotel and had fantastic views over the water to the mainland. If you are short on things to do, Ken is very knowledgeable on places to visit and how to get there. Highly recommended!

Ken was very knowledgeable and offered great advice for a trip around the Cowal Peninsula. Breakfast was plentiful with a varied choice. - Ian (9/5): Superb - Kenny was a very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful hoist. He runs a lovely establishment. From a personal prospective, the bed pillows weren't supportive enough, both were very soft.
- Jan (10/5): Douglas Park Dunoon Kirk - Very nice and comfortable guest house with a beautiful view from the breakfast room and lounge room. The driving distances in this part of west highlands are longer than expected.

The decor is modern and elegant. The rooms were spacious and if you choose to get a front room the view is spectacular. There is free parking but if you don’t have a car there is a bus straight outside the door that takes you into town, to the ferries, to your next destination. Ken, our host, was so helpful. He recommended places for dinner that were excellent. He new the bus and ferry schedules off by heart he helped us organize ordering flowers for a friend we were going on to visit. Breakfast was included and was absolutely delicious. Service was prompt and attentive. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to everyone!!

- Gabriele (10/5): One of the best accommodations we ever stayed at - We booked the twin room for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated with luxurious touches. We had lovely views onto the garden and the beds were very comfortable. Our private bathroom was a few steps down the landing, which was no problem as bathrobes were provided. The breakfast room and guest lounge both offered stunning sea views of the Firth of Clyde, ideal for spending a rainy afternoon with a good book. We found plenty things to do during our stay including hill walking and visiting interesting and picturesque places like Tarbert and Inveraray. Some of the landscape and nature was just breathtaking. Dunoon had all the amenities and plenty of good restaurants and pubs. However, our drive to Otter Ferry to have lunch at the "Oyster Catcher" pub/restaurant was well worth it. The guest house owners Shona and Ken were the perfect hosts and went out their way to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. They provided us with local information and suggestions for things to do. We appreciated the little treats we found each night in our room and the breakfast was very good and varied, with fresh fruit - strawberries and blueberries! - provided every morning. We can highly recommend Douglas Park Guest House and would not hesitate to stay here again. Thanks again Shona and Ken for looking after us so well.
