Guest Reviews
- shirley (7/5): Good place to stay for evenings sleep - Staff friendly, even though I had arrived very late, Room comfortable, quite peaceful time there, tea making good, view from window had cherry tree in blossom. Parking on site no problem. Plenty of hot water. Bed linen clean. Maybe the shower head could be descaled in this room.
- Handsome Kladsup (1/5): Worst place in UK even Assylum seekers aviod - Nothing Dirty , cold, not same as pictures at all. Left next morning . Only stayed as was so tired.
AVIOD AVOID AVIOD
- Caroline (7/5): It was near were I was working and was near shops . - Well needs a bedside light on the table next to bed as can not see. Also the hating on a bit higher
Temp other than that it was fine .
- Teodor Dorian (10/5): -
- Shirley (6/5): For what I needed the place was suitable and I would stay again taking my own kettle and cup. - Bed was comfortable and clean. Room was quite. The towels were okay and clean.
Staff was pleasant and helped with my bags to my room even though I arrived after the normal check in time. The Kettle in the room was unpleasant, it looked like the element was rusty?
The cup was not as clean as I would hope for. i did not use either
- Phil (3/5): Expected a very basic room for the price but very disappointed that it was so run down and dirty. - Member of staff at check in was friendly, polite and efficient. Were given two single rooms as the twin I booked was not available (which was good for us but perhaps not so good for a couple or a parent and younger child staying together). Rooms were not at all clean. Carpets were badly stained. Cobwebs present and was dusty. Bathroom floor was dirty and not properly swept. Bathroom fittings were very rusty and unpleasant. Decor very tired and no bedside lamp. Communal areas equally tired and not very clean. Felt like it was set up as a hostel facility for long-term residents rather than a guesthouse.

Everything dirty .
Who was checking in the guy know on my door asking my phone number because I’m looking good , which is not acceptable.
Make me unsafe .
- Paweł (7/5): - Ok
- Gabriel (3/5): Expensive homeless shelter - Parking Dirty bedsheets, stained carpets and walls with spit on it;
Smelly staff,
Overpriced,
- Mary (7/5): Friendly, quiet and convenient location. - The location was great -off a main road so easy access to quiet. The kitchen area had only a fridge and freezer and no sink.
- Akhkoubak (6/5): -
- Deji (7/5): -
- Sarah (7/5): as expected for the money paid. Comfortable - Friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable bed, close to motorway Carpets dirty

- John (4/5): Dont believe the write up for Malvern house very misleading, ie beautiful decorated rooms, no way !! - Only the location as near to family and friends we had come to visit This is a difficult one, we have stayed at the Malvern before so aware its not the usual bed and breakfast establishment. The only time we saw any staff this time, was when we checked in and given the room key, and a man helped my husband carry our baggage up the two flights of stairs to reach the attic room. We saw him again on our way out for the evening, to request another towel as only one in the room, and a roll of loo paper, also a ' throw away comment ' re the TV as the channel I wanted to watch BBC1 was pixatating very annoying. On our return the towel and loo roll were there, but the TV remained the same, till we checked out yesterday morning, on the subject of staff the only member we saw was the man we spoke to re the towel etc. Aware the breakfast option was ' an egg' cooked to your choice, dont know if that was true as no one about Sunday morning or on our return that night, checking out yesterday a repeat on that, so we just left the key in the pot on the desk in the hall. The attic room was horrible , mainly due to the sloping ceiling over the bed and desk areas, holding the TV and Tea making facility, ( in itself so awkward due to filling the tiny kettle with lead attached to fill under the sink in the loo ) had to shuffle down to the end of the bed to stand upright to not keep banging my head !!!! No bedside lighting , luckily I keep a tiny torch with me so had to bring that out for use, the shower room flooring looks as if it hadn't been throughly cleaned. The water in the hand basin was barely warm let alone hot, and the toilet didn't flush properly, and the chrome fixture in the shower stall looked suspect !!!! Carpeting stained, not just the room, but coming up the stairs especially bad. One high point was the bedding and the towels. all pristine white !!!!!! As the saying goes you do get what you pay for I suppose, as the cost of the room was £45 a night, but its been as high as £125 a night earlier in the year...
- Simon (9/5): -
- Jon (8/5): Great value and a good night's sleep.. - Incredibly cheap and as a result it's hard to fault - was it beautiful? No, but to expect that at the price would be silly.. At that price it's great value for money and tough to pick fault..
- Geraint (7/5): -
- Kerry (2/5): - The location was in the right place for our needs It was outdated and felt unclean could do with updating new carpet ,bathroom felt cold and neglected and even the toilet had no lid and shelving was rusted cups were dirty and someone had left out of date eggs in the cupboard ,kettle kept shutting off ,
- Ulffy (7/5): -
- Adam (7/5): Cheap and cheerful stay in good location for what I needed - Good price, big room, big bathroom and location good for supermarket and cinema. Bed was pretty comfy too and the area was surprisingly quiet. Carpet was stained and TV very basic - but room had a good sized desk.
- Rob (7/5): -
- Ryan (9/5): Good for business and solo - It was clean room which was a good size and very quite and easy to get to. It basically in the middle of nowhere and need a car to go anywhere.

- JOHN (8/5): -
- JESSICA (10/5): -
- Martin (3/5): Never a 4* - It's filthy (See photos) - It's well located for access to the M40 It's absolutely filthy
- Liz (5/5): OK for one night only - Left too early to sample breakfast
Liked having patio door to outside, useful with dogs Not a twin room as requested
A small double bed and a temporary put u up, we were offered a second single room though but not suitable with dogs
No hot water, only lukewarm unfortunately
£15 per pet was a lot to pay but we had no choice
- charles (1/5): Not good - It was filthy
- Dyllan (8/5): -
- Gutugutu (10/5): - Rotul
- Joanna_73 (6/5): adequate for the one night but would not return due to cleanliness and shower head issue - Large spacious room (large enough that bed does not need to be in the corner!!), large desk area with chair, spacious wardrobe, quality bedding, use of kitchen & dining area if needed. A later checkout was granted on arrival which was appreciated. No detachable shower head, bathroom needed a clean, remove rusty shelves from bathroom, no lid to close on toilet, teaspoons dirty, room needed a deeper clean in general, bed was sinking in the middle (many previous complaints about this so should be looked at). Only 1 towel for 2 people. When booking a later check in was requested, nobody responded to query.
- Ryan (8/5): -
- Steve (4/5): Average at best - Was cheap Carrying a heavy bag up all the stairs
Staff barely spoke English
Was 32 degrees room was like an oven and main window was locked shut and lock was broken so couldn't open the main window
- Johnny (5/5): Passable -
- Suman (7/5): Good -
- Judy (6/5): Pleasant -
- William (6/5): Pleasant -
- Andrea (1/5): Appalling - do not stay here - Nothing Everything
Unclean
Wires showing in the bathroom
Ground floor room with window not secure
- Lisa (10/5): - When we arrived in High Wycombe, we passed a lovely house with beautiful wisteria blooming all along the sidewalk. We parked, then walked to a pub at the end of the street. After a fun meal in the open air, we left the pub searching for the Malvern House. We were delighted to discover that the wisteria house was indeed our destination.
The gentleman who greeted us was very kind and welcoming. Our ground floor room was just right. We stayed two nights, and revised the pub down the street. All told, we truly enjoyed our stay and would stay at the Malvern House if we ever find ourselves near High Wycombe again.
- Jacqueline (6/5): - No bedside table lamps. Not enough tea coffee’s satchets.Room was clean but a little cold when we arrived.
- Barton (7/5): Good -
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ron (8/5): Did what it said on the label - Staff very friendly I was in room number 3 AGAIN last 4 times I've stayed there.
Bed is very uncomfortable it appears to sink in the centre and leaves you with a bad back.
Last time I put the mattress on the floor.
Hot water was Luke warm.
If I stay again and given the same room I will go somewhere else. Sorry
- Account (6/5): Easy to get to location, Great value, just needs a little work - It was just under half the price of the main chain hotels, and whilst the walls were a little thin, it was a room with a bed, and working shower, bath and everything else you would expect from a property The place did need some renovation work doing, the doors and walls do let in sound and it is advisable to take ear plugs. It did need a bit of a clean behind the bed and the carpets weren't spotless, but I didn't have hugely high expectations at this price.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Didn’t even sleep there - The room was a disgrace. Although the bed sheets were clean the room was disgusting. I won’t go through it all but we paid before we saw the room and after having a nice meal at a pub along the road we returned to the room, collected our luggage and left. We were not willing to stay there. Lesson learnt. Do not book this place
- Michael (2/5): Gone down hill , give it a miss , try the hampton by hilton - Nothing much , sorry to say . The smell in the ground floor area,
- David (8/5): Very good - Location The bed is too soft
- Bárbara (5/5): Fine for one night as a cheap option - Parking and allowed pets The room was too hot and was unable to change the temperature, even with window open
- Ron (8/5): Very pleased would be returning - Staff were more than eager to help with any questions and very polite Bed was a little uncomfortable in room 3 but I'm very fussy
- Beaton (8/5): Very good - Basic, but clean room with everything I needed. Free WiFi. Needed a bedside light and chair for desk.
- Christopher (5/5): Passable -
- Sharon (8/5): Very good -
- Andy (1/5): Awful. Avoid like the plague. - Room 2 had dirty carpets and there was a lot of mould on the curtains. See photos. Squalid state of the room.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Susan (10/5): Excellent service and such a great property. - From the word go this place was amazing from both outside and in. A big shout out to the lovely gentlemen who checked me in after a kind hearted stranger helped me with my baggage due to extreme pain and mobility issues. Check in was speedy, efficient and I was very happy with the hospitality during check in. The room was comfortable, warm and inviting. Easy to get to via the local bus. Very highly recommended. 😊
- Vanessa (5/5): Passable -
- Kehinde (7/5): Good -
- Margaret (6/5): - Adequate for what I needed , very tidy just lacking a bedside lamp because I’m not a young person and had to get out of bed to switch off the light and to feel my way in the dark back to the bed , but everything else was acceptable .
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pamela (1/5): Nightmare - It was awful , mattress was in very poor condition . I didn’t even stay the second night . Everything.
- Sarah (6/5): Pleasant -
- Beverley (6/5): Wasn’t happy - There was no breakfast 😡😡😡 No breakfast and room was small , bed was small , heating wasn’t working wasn’t comfortable
- Nathan (3/5): Clean but dated and a bit odd. Felt more like a halfway house. - Room was clean and towels fresh Felt like more of a halfway house. Fire alarm set off at 2am by someone cooking food in their room. House very dated and carpets worn and odd colours. Very, very basic
- Mr (5/5): Passable - If you want a good night's sleep then take some earplugs. Too much shouting from the live in family below.
The bed wasn't any good either.
- Justin (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent
- Swapna (2/5): - Lovely and helpful staff but overall dismal and frustrating stay. Wi-Fi not working, heating not working and shower gauge broken! Had a cold shower and given a small portable heater to get through the night :(
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- D (8/5): Very good -
- Johnson (3/5): Cold Room - No I think I told you enough yeah not very good turn your heating on your windows and doors very very drafty no cold no breakfast either Everything set staff they was lovely
- Prakash (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ben (5/5): Passable -
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (8/5): my monthly visits for business reasons are always comfortable. - how accommodating the hosts are.
the convenience of the property to where I need to get to small bedside lights would be of use
an extra blanket/duvet available in the rooms for those of us who are bit more susceptible to the cold.
- Harris (7/5): Good -
- Duduzile (8/5): Very good -
- John (4/5): Disappointing -
- It’s (5/5): Passable -
- Navin (8/5): Value for Money - Host was great, Parking available. The Ease Convenience
- Lesley (5/5): The rooms could do with a make over as too basic for me to stay again - Location perfect, off road parking and access at any time no breakfast, the room was basic, the TV did not have any reception and the shower had a few spurts
- Kevin (7/5): Good - Clean and tidy Well presented room with en suite and parking available on site Would stay again Nothing
- Andy (9/5): Superb -
- John (6/5): Basic clean friendly accommodation -
- Geoff (8/5): Very good -
- Lumsden (3/5): Will not recommend. - The manager was very helpful and very apologetic for our disappointment. The website advertised breakfast so we were bitterly disappointed that this was a lie. There is no breakfast. Bath water was tepid, not hot enough. Bed was very uncomfortable.
- Michael (4/5): Disappointing - Na No heating and it was freezing.
- Mark (6/5): - Ideal for a stopover. Very basic and tired looking but clean and staff friendly
- Clifford (8/5): Acceptable - There wasn't any Small television.
He couldn't find our reservation.
- Gareth (7/5): Quick easy and comfy - Quick and easy check in, the room had tea and coffee, working tv, wifi code which i didnt use, comfy bed and decent ensuite. It was quite cold, the carpets could do with a wash/replacing and at around 10pm there was a lot of disturbance with people arguing in the reception area, this was quite un-nerving as it was the only way in and out of the property and i dont think there was any staff present, if there was they didnt do a good job of defusing the situation.
- Bill (6/5): Pleasant - I paid budget prices for a budget accommodation and it exceeded my expectations . Room was clean and facilities and nearby restaurants were good In my room , room 3 even though the room was clean and tidy there were old stains on the carpet and some on the wall. It's probably best to get carpet cleaned or replaced.
- Clarioncall (7/5): Good - Very simple, with few frills. Lovely hot shower, very helpful staff.
- Timothy (4/5): There are better options - The location was perhaps the most positive aspect of our stay here I'm struggling to reconcile the other positive feedback and ratings for this place, as frankly it was a rather shabby, uninspiring place, that we couldn't wait to vacate first thing in the morning.
The room was damp, with signs of mold spores in the corners, and near the windows, I am unsure when the room had last been vacuumed, dusted, or de-cobwebbed, but suspect it wasn't recent.
- Richard-james (5/5): For the price, not too bad. - Off-road parking, shower, happy to exchange tea with coffee, ample storage and room size, lots of outlets, decent view No breakfast option, limited parking, no heating option for room (cold)
