The place wasn’t as bad as they made out to be, but the curtains in the bedroom did have mould on them and we ended up killing five cockroaches. Not the best place if you have young children as you’re worried about them touching things or the bugs.

• Malcolm (4/5): - Other tenants dropped chips on the staircase and I asked for them to be cleaned up but they were still there two days letter when we left. Someone also leaked fruit juice or similar down the staircase but this could not be cleaned up as there were no cleaners on at the week-end. We stayed for six days and paid before seeing the rooms. Mistake! Apartment was tired, one light power-point did not work, bathroom door handle malfunctioned, inadequate lighting and my wife asked me to buy disposable cutlery/crockery and would not let me use the laundry facilities because of hygiene concerns. The under cover parking was great except it was too tight and I smashed the car mirror backing out. However, we did love having the pool to ourselves, the fresh sea air while we slept and the mature gardens. Staff were also courteous and helpful.

Mould on wall and filthy mattress. Even the TV was sctratched Carpet was ripped and floor was lifting up. Didn’t even have a chair to sit at and work. Door all wrecked.

• Verified traveler (4/5): - I decided to give the property a go despite some of the average reviews because we wanted ocean views. The reviews unfortunately were correct. The Executive suite was very tired looking with the toilet roll holder hanging off the wall, sliding door lock was broken, all the fittings were old and there was cords hanging out of a couple of power boards, no good for young toddlers. These things would be easy to fix I'm sure so why aren't they? The king size bed was horrendous as my partner and I are both over 6ft. It looked like two singles pushed together and both beds had sunken middles. This bed was one of the worst beds we have slept in. Ocean views were amazing.

There are also no eateries or restaurants nearby, so recommend to bring food. Otherwise, you will have to drive 10-minutes. Good thing about the property is it's amenities, the tennis court and pool are great and it has direct access to the beach.

We had a lovely cooked meal delivered to our room it was great. Room was very clean and felt safe, bed and pillows were comfortable and it had a fully equipped kitchen would definitely recommend.
• Kevin (8/5): Dissapointed - This is an older property with its age showing. Maintenance is required with important items such as screen door mesh and locks needing attention. Also replacement of the soap holder in the shower is important. We found the rooms to be small and furniture large, making conditions cramped. There was no where in the bedroom, other than on the floor, for luggage. Lighting placement in both living area and bathroom was poor. We liked the area and the price was attractive, perhaps because of the maintenance lag as part reason.
• Tim (6/5): - The bathroom had mould in and around the shower recess and the apartment needed a small amount of repairs to make it more presentable. Generally it was OK however if there was more attention to the cleaning it would have been better.

• Benjamin (2/5): - I stay in accommodation regularly with my work, at least 4 nights a week. I booked the accommodation for my daughter 14th Birthday as a special surprise. The accommodation/rooms we’re absolutely a disappointment. The rooms are not clean, the carpets have not been cleaned in years. Doors do not lock, they use timber to keep them closed. TV’s do not work in the bedrooms and the carpark has rubbish. But I can say if you want a sore back this is definitely the place to stay, the mattress are old and need replacing.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Tired building that needs a good tidy-up - The 2 bedroom, top-floor apartment was renovated with really some nice features however it was unfinished with some more work to be done, such as painting. It had a lovely view of the ocean and the balcony was very pleasant - great for outdoor dining and relaxing. The condition of the whole building however was extremely disappointing. Old couches, flooring underlay, old junk and mess etc was lying around in common areas, missing door handles, very tired and worn carpets and so on. The best part of our stay was the food from the in-house restaurant which was lovely and fresh and super tasty!!

Air-conditioning in lounge did not cool, dishes in cupboard dirty, batteries in remotes flat. There was a pile of dirty dishes in car park when we arrived, three days later they were still there. Such a shame, this place could be great. Expect a bit more for the price.

Room was terrible- Stayed twice within the 2019 Dec Month and we couldn’t even sit on lounges as it was falling apart. Kitchen amenities were disgustingly filthy like the toaster, old pans etc Bathroom equipment were falling apart or missing for convenience. Towels we had were stained and consistently stained and kept asking for replacements. We won’t be staying again and have lost a customer that goes past Coffs Harbour every year for minimum stay of 3 nights in December holidays.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing - The Apartments were very hard to find. Sat on a patio chair and it collapsed sending me flat on my back. I was very shaken and took a jar to my middle back. When reception was informed, they said they would send someone up. NO ONE ARRIVED. When mentioned the next morning to reception again, I was told they new nothing about it.??? Dinner service was shocking - was sat down, waited for half and hour before getting a menu. When a linguini was ordered, spirals were delivered without advice. So was sent back. All in all very disappointing.

• VeryDisappointd (4/5): - Broken kitchen sink tap, no net curtains for privacy during the day, carpark too small for a standard Hilux SR5, broken sofa with springs poking into you, broken toilet roll holder, no counter space in the bathroom, weird flooring in the bathroom like an amenities block, damaged carpet, the view was only of the carpark not of the sea, the cleaner banged on the door at 9am when checkout is 11am. Good grief, we had a horrible time, when all we wanted was some luxury relaxation. Never ever again.
• Robert (8/5): Beach Haven Executive (?) Apartments - The staff were friendly & helpful on check in however neglected to tell us they had several junior football teams staying for the weekend. A bit of loud noise from boys running all over the place & banging doors but thankfully it went quiet around 6.30pm & peace was restored. The apartment itself was dated but clean. Not really what I would call an Executive apartment though as it was very compact with hardly any space to put a bag or toiletries or make breakfast. It was reasonable for a one night stay but I probably would not stay any longer than that. Free parking but, like the apartment, the undercover parking area was very compact. Not good if you have a larger vehicle. The Beach Haven Apartment Is not a stand alone resort. It is a part of the Aqualuna Resort which is a combination of holiday rental & privately owned apartments. It is very close to all major tourist attractions & retail shopping areas which was good. As I said it was ok for a night but not really what we were expecting.

• Verified traveler (4/5): - The carpark was very hard to get in & out of. Our car didn’t fit in the allocated parking space. The Unit was clean, but seemed to have undergone a very cheap renovation. Walls have been patched & not painted. Bathroom fittings all loose & toilet seat broken. No lock on sliding door, leaving a security risk. Both cushions on lounge had broken springs in them, leaving a very uncomfortable sit on the couch. Previous stay at the attached Aqualuna was a positive stay, this was disappointing & not value for money.
• Verified traveler (2/5): - Do NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. This place is absolutely horrendous. Dirty, unkept, rude stafg who dont care. Our unit absolutely stunk of paint fumes, cockroachss everywhere, everything was damp. So unclean. Reception staff didnt care at all. They shouldn't be open a total health risk.

The car park reserved for us was being used by another guest the whole time we were there. The reception staff did not have an answer or solution for any of the above issues.

• Tony (2/5): Never again - Absolutely filthiest place I’ve stayed. I’m on the road for work 3weeks a month and this place takes the cake. I think I felt dirtier after a shower. Marks on walls , damaged doors , stained cushions, dirty fingerprints over the walls and doors.no pride in this place.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - We arrived a bit late, driving from Sydney for an overnight stop on our way to QLD. When we checked in we were not told that the restaurant would be closing soon. So we checked into our room, then went down stairs ( probably 20 mins later) to be told the kitchens had closed, it was only 8 pm. If we had been told at check in it would have avoided us not being able to eat at there. No one really seemed to care about it when we said how surprised we were.

The entry way / car park need to be clean as rubbish and old leaves were everywhere, the door leading into the apartment had kicked in and not fixed which meant that the wasn't able to locked. the glass sliding door the lock was broken and was being held shut by a piece of wood in the track to lock it, as I have a 12 year old this is not acceptable, the dust that was behind the one bathroom doors was disgusting and the bedheads were not attached and made heaps noise and the beds themselves we so uncomfortable I had to see a chiropractor when I got home. The lounge needs to be replaced as when you sit on the middle it dipped down and was very uncomfortable. As a hole I was extremely disappoint with this property and would never recommend it to anyone. I had used Bookings.com to book to other properties that were much cheaper than this one but the quality of the properties was outstanding. Very unhappy

• Verified traveler (4/5): - We chose this venue to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Looking at the photos online we were really looking forward to a luxury apartment. The photos did not match reality. The flyscreens were torn, the furniture was too big for the bedroom, so you couldn't open the wardrobe. The kitchen was tiny. The property was not very relaxing ( lots of concrete) or tropical and the beach was a fair walk away. I was also disappointed with the service at the front desk. Even finding the venue from the road was hard. Not value for money and I would not recommend it for couples looking for a relaxing time away.
• Jessica L. (4/5): Best of a bad bunch - Hotel over all was dirty and appeared to be poorly managed. Soiled mattresses dirty dishes and laundry strewn across the public areas. Our room was tolerable but we consciously went out for the night so as to spend as little of out one night stay as possible in the room and got out of there quick smart in the morning. Would t not recommend this hotel.
• Verified traveler (4/5): - Pool, bbq, beach access was great. Reception was plain bad, poor communication and poor reception. People parked in my car place and I told reception. Was told to park near pool, was not told that sofa bed was broken and got a dirty old cot. None of the showers had curtains or glass doors so water went everywhere when we only had 5 towels and two bath Matt’s. And no replacement towels. We had a towel given to our 4 year old from last hotel as a gift and it was stolen from our balcony. There is an issue with locals parking and walking all around the complex when they come to the local bar for a drink. I’m guessing it was not a hotel guest that knocked of the towel. Condition of property was poor, and generally dirty with having to kill two cockroaches running around the floor on last night. Had to walk around complex to find the bins so I could get rid of our rubbish then go to supermarket to buy replacement bin liners. Needed to work that out for myself. I have worked all over the country in various places for different companies, staying in old pubs and city hotels. On reflection, this has been an overall negative experience to a great town. Will be staying somewhere else next time, and we checked hotel prices yesterday, if we had of canceled our booking and then re-booked we could have saved over $100 dollars. • Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a comfortable apartment, I stayed with my husband and 2 toddlers. It was a wonderful place to stay, short walk to the beach as well.

• Rita (8/5): Comfortable stay - We only stayed one night, but it was quite comfortable. Easy check in and friendly staff. Room was fairly clean, bit dirty behind the scenes. Beautiful view from the balcony. Too many stairs, had my 78 year old mum with me, was a bit hard for her. Didn’t realise there was no elevator. Ask for a lower ground room if you have mobility issues All in all, not a bad apartment

The hair dryer and its cradle was kept in linen cupboard not fixed to the wall for safety whilst using it, the bed lamps didn't work, there was no toilet paper from the start of my visit, the hallways were not secure at all, the place needs a major re-paint, bed mattresses were stored up against the wall in the car park, the bed was sunken which indicates very old. I would definitely consider staying somewhere else next time.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Disgusting - I stayed here a couple of times 2 years ago and was always impressed. I can't believe how much the place has deteriorated since my last visit. The place is a mess, from the time you pull into the carpark where there is rubbish everywhere, to walking up the filthy steps through the broken door to the apartments, to the grubby apartment with broken taps, showers, etc. Not sure if it's been taken over by new owners in that time but the certainly aren't looking after the place. Check in was shocking as well. The person on the front desk pretty much claimed I didn't have a booking an demanded I prove it. Even after showing him the booking on my phone and confirming the confirmation number he still was rude. Eventually he found my booking, he had actually booked someone else into my room. The documents were all in my name but signed off by someone else. No apology at all. He then tried to give me out of date milk. Would never stay here again, it's disgusting
• Verified traveler (8/5): - The location to the beach. Place could really do with a good clean: public areas swept and mopped, windows cleaned. These clearly haven't been done for about a year. Would be good if the "Dollar" brand of Indian tap fittings were actually fully installed. Don't get room overlooking adjoined petrol station as the fumes were strong in the open walkways. Eat before staying, burgers $24 in restaurant

• Verified traveler (8/5): - Very private apartments. Clean and comfortable. The door to the bathroom was a bit odd and not very secure. There was nowhere to put your personal things in the bathroom for lack of shelving but all in all we were happy.
• KELLIE (8/5): Quick stop over - Hotel was in a good spot, but the beach is very unsafe to swim at. The hotel is a little run down, could do with a makeover. But other then that beds were clean and room tidy, restaurant up front a little bit expensive I thought, not a lot of different price ranges to chose from. Chips cheese and bacon about $18 a serve, I thought that was very overpriced. Kellie

• Verified traveler (4/5): A let down ☹️ - Small room, no desk or table to work at. Poor quality mattress (this is the worst thing). Shower was good but there was nowhere to put things around the hand basin. There were maintenance issues when I arrived: the fridge had been turned off & there was a big puddle (power was on) & the fly screen on the only window had been pulled out. Requesting maintenance was not possible as the staff had gone early normally 10pm & I called at 9:30pm.
