- Jordan Berkley (6/5): - We’ve been to Jamaica before and absolutely loved it, mainly bc of how fun and friendly the staff was. This was not the case at this resort. Some were very rude. If you don’t have cash on hand (while in your bath suit) be prepared to be ignored or scowled at. The one time I did bring cash down to tip, it was stolen within the hour. And the cleanliness was not great at all.

- CAROLYN (10/5): - This resort is very organized and we enjoyed every day from sunrise to sunset. If you’re wanting a quieter experience I would not recommend Saturday for an arrival. Saturday afternoon is a big party and is really fun especially for young adults. Every evening was filled with entertainment. From bingo to silent disco (my favorite) to musical theatrical such as drums were above and beyond our expectations. Truly enjoyable. The food at the buffet and Asian restaurants were our favorite. The steakhouse restaurant was not very good. Something with the quality of the meat because it was very chewy and unflavored. Outside of the buffet all of the restaurants had horrible desserts. Overall from sunrise to sunset we enjoyed it all. Thank you to all of the staff.

- Brian Thomas (2/5): - This was my second time staying here. But this experience was horrible. Upon getting to our room, the ceiling can was rattling and making a loud vibrating sound, bar bottle were empty and loud fan running in the bathroom. Put in service request to have bar stocked, but never happened. Also but in service request for fan 3 times and maintenance did respond, but they never fixed the fan. Had to be moved to another room because we wasn't able to sleep due to the fan noise. I was also there for my birthday and wanted to go to the steak restaurant, but was reservations avaible my entire 5 days there. How is that possible as we checked every day from the first day we arrived. Went and complained to front desk staff and was promised hey would figure out something and get back to me, but no one never got to me. NO response, follow-up or calls as promised. I won be coming back for a third stay based on this experience, nor recommend it as I have done in the past.

The receptionist forgot to mention that lobster was no longer on the menu and therefore we had shrimp and steak. The lights were out on the beach so majority of the time we also had to sit in the dark. So not the greatest part of the day for our 25 year anniversary. But overall it was okay.

- laura (10/5): - The resort was lovely and beautiful! The food is Great!!!! (I only ate at the buffet). The staff were great. The room was great. I tip $2-5 for room service, getting more water/ drink for my room, waiters. Some people think that’s including and it’s not. In some customs they don’t (I think it’s rude to not tip). All I ask is to refill my water when it’s empty. One breakfast, a waiter, keep walking by my table. Didn’t refill my water for 15mins, so I got up and refilled my own drink. So I didn’t tip. Beach was good. No beach umbrellas so bring a hat. Wear swim shoes bc the ocean feels slimy. Over all I would definitely staff here again!!
- Qualeemah (4/5): - They were not accommodating when issues occurred with my flight and I losts a day and wanted to purchase an additional day, not to mention when I arrived I still had to wait for the room as if I didn’t pay for the day prior and it should have been ready. The staff was nice and the entertainment was fun but for the price of a night they should have leasts had my room ready once I got there after missing a day or leasts price adjusted an additional day

- SHUNTAE (6/5): - I had a good stay, but, check in was delayed and un organized. We took out own bags. We only ate at the buffet because the restaurants were always booked. There was no real night life at Reggae, you have to go to another resort.and no top shelf liquor.and the pools close too early, I believe it closed at 6.however, the buffet was good.

My only downside was that the abundant amount seaweed needed to be removed from the beach 😞😞 I only wanted to enjoy the beach and it was very difficult with seaweed in over 90% of the water. I asked the seamen and they stated that the hotel needed to clean it out. Not sure why that hadn’t happened by April 2025. This hampered my visit and my expectation of being in the water. 😞😞

The entire property was spotless, including the buffet area and our room. One of the best parts was the easy access to the beach right on the property, just steps away from the water. It made the stay even more relaxing. I highly recommend RIU Reggae to anyone looking for a clean, beautiful, and well run place to stay in Jamaica. I’d definitely go back!

- Douglas Paul (8/5): - We had a great time at Riu Reggae! Check In - We arrived early around 12pm and we given a room right away, even though check in was at 3pm. I'm sure this doesn't happen all the time, but it was an added bonus. We were also greeted with a cold rum punch which was delicious Room - The room was clean, quiet and cold. The staff cleaned our room every day and left fun towel shapes and notes on the bed. The fridge and mini bar was stocked every 2 days. The bathroom was clean and the shower was hot. We were on the ground floor and there were a couple nights where there was some noisy people in the hallway around 2am. We travel with a white noise maker so this was not a big deal for us. Bars - We loved all the bars. The staff were always pretty quick at getting you a drink. I didn't see any top shelf liquor (Bombay, Titos, Makers Mark, Jim Beam, Jose Cuervo, etc), but that doesn't really matter to us. The Red Stripe was delicious. Pro Tip - Bring a Yeti or reusable non glass container. Most bars serve drinks in a plastic cup which makes sense because you don't want broken glass with bare feet. Restaurants - We loved all the restaurants. The Italian was our favorite and Jolene was our favorite waitress. Jayson at the steakhouse was awesome too! You need to make reservations, so don't forget to do that the day before. The jerk chicken on the beach was amazing. Pool - We had a great time at all the pools. Bring sunscreen! - Rosa (10/5): - May 10, 2025 we stayed at the Riu Reggae property very clean. They’re always washing the floors and cleaning around amazing. The eating area was also very clean. The people were very nice friendly. The pool and ocean are very close in proximity. Their towel system isn’t the greatest You only get one towel they’re always running out, The pool and ocean very warm like 96 degrees I’m definitely going back. But bringing a beach towel of my own lol

There was a few things I was unhappy with such as not being able to get checked into mym room until after 3 PM & there is no room service. The only “food” available is near the lobby bar and it’s not even real food and is SO limited. They close all the restaurants and eating areas, besides the bar one, at 5 until 6:30 which was very annoying and it was almost impossible to even get reservations at the restaurants. The buffet food was really good at least. The pools open at 9 and close at 6 which is beyond crazy to me and locals in their canoes stay at the beach and just haggle people. Overall, it was an okay stay, but, for the price and the limited food options at certain times of day, and pool hours I won’t be back

Even though the hotel wasn’t the best I still enjoyed myself until sat I came back to hotel and ate and the late night snack bar . In the morning I got up throwing up the entire day and horrible stomach pains . My friend I was with had the same stomach pains, diarrhea and we both ate the nacho and cheese from the late night snack bar .We only had a few and both agreed that it taste weirds and didn’t finish but it still gave us stomach poisoning. For this reason I would never stay at that hotel again .

The separate reservations made it hard for a party of ten to reserve . We had4 birthdays to celebrate over our vacation time. Loved that we could enjoy free activities and go to other resorts to eat lunch. I loved the snack bar. I better understand the terminology about how to get another bed in room for another person to have a bed. This was my first time and loved it.

- Kelly (8/5): - Although adults only, the property is still a "young" property with lots of activities during the day & evening - a little something for everyone. Staff were wonderful and accommodating. Resort very quiet at night.. The pools are shallow (2'5") and not designed for swimming but one can do laps. The pools close at 6pm, which was disappointing but standard with many resorts. The rooms were very clean & well stocked with a variety of beverages. There are 5 restaurants - we tried the steakhouse, but found the buffet was our favorite as it provided a wide-variety of food choices that accommodated all dietary needs (including gluten free!). The beaches were as clean as they could be but there is always people who leave garbage around vs. depositing it in one of the many receptacles. Security patrols beaches at night. The property is across from a strip mall which has a grocery store, pharmacy and other small stores. I would recommend walking over to pick up any toiletries (we learned this the hard way after paying $10US for a 90ml bottle of Listerine at the hotel when we could have purchased at grocery store!). Similarly, if you are looking for the JBM coffee, purchase at the grocery store. One can walk safely to the mall within a few minutes - there is a free shuttle as well, but as with everything else there, nothing is really "free" - we took the shuttle once and were delivered to a gift store employee. Recommend for an all-inclusive experience.

I understand resort has no control for people’s actions but never again . Also tried getting a table for 2 at steak house which was fully booked according to the app which was false . The restaurant had like 10 tables available but we couldn’t be seated because it was fully booked according them .
- SHERI CHRISTINE (6/5): - Resort Review: Mixed Experience with Highs and Lows I recently stayed at this resort and had a very mixed experience. On the positive side, the food was absolutely fantastic—plenty of variety, fresh options, and something for every taste. The entertainment staff was top-notch, keeping the energy high with fun daily activities and engaging evening shows that were genuinely impressive. One standout was Samanda, a bartender who clearly takes pride in her work. While most of the drinks were disappointingly weak, Samanda’s attention to detail and great attitude made her drinks the best at the resort. Unfortunately, there were several downsides that impacted the overall experience. The resort is located directly under a flight path, and planes flew overhead constantly throughout the day, which really took away from the otherwise relaxing atmosphere. There was also a serious issue with younger guests overindulging—returning to their rooms loudly at all hours of the night, often intoxicated. One night, in our hallway near our door we were repeatedly disturbed by yelling and even a physical altercation. We had to call security twice due to a fight in the hallway, which was both disruptive and unsettling. Another disappointment was housekeeping. On multiple days, our room wasn’t cleaned until after 5 p.m., which made it difficult to come back and relax. I’d recommend it with caution, especially for those looking for peace and quiet.

- Brittany (6/5): - Food was bland and not very good. Staff was good mostly. Except for when we booked and excursion and they gave us the wrong time to be there and neglected to inform us. We luckily did get refunded for it though. But it was on our final day so we couldnt reschedule it when we were looking forward to it. If you dont like loud, club like scenes or drug dealers in kayaks then id advise not going to this venue. Maybe try the RIU Palace. But they still had some of the same things just was a quieter scene for the most part. Would definitely never go to this resort again.
