Guest Reviews
- Nicholas (2/5): - I had a really bad experience. Check-in information wasn’t provided until 4:15 when it had previously been said that it would be at 3pm. When I arrived I discovered that the bed was broken- the bed frame was broken and the bed sagged to the point you could not sleep on it. When I informed them, it took 2 hours for them to look at it and get back to me, at which time they said it couldn’t be fixed and there were no other rooms available. They said I needed to sleep on the fold-out couch in the room. This fold out was extremely uncomfortable with a very thin mattress. I ended up having to pull the mattress off the bed and sleep on the floor. When I communicated this, I was told a discount would be applied which will take 2 weeks to arrive. I believe I should have been refunded the entire cost. It is unacceptable to have a hotel room without a bed.
- Kelli (6/5): - The beds were terrible.
- Kim (10/5): - Amazing property! We highly recommend. We will be booking again. Great location. Fabulous service.
- Douglas (8/5): Location Location Location....is everything! - Directions to the suite were poor and finding the suite proved to be even more difficult. Walking the street helped immensely and by a process of elimination found the single door entrance to our suite. Very small sign on the door indicated such. The door had a very large circular hole in it and not sure why!!!! Once inside and up 21 steps the apartment itself was disappointing as we mentally compared the website pictures with the present reality. The two images didn't jive. Nothing wrong with retro furniture if in good shape, functioning well, and all the pieces there. Bathrooms were tiled nicely but the one shower faucet needed repair to keep it securily fastened on the wall. Very poorly appointed kitchen so bring cooking utensils. The TV was a huge issue with texts of apologies but no one ever came to the suite to assist with this amenity that didn't work. The windows did not open so the noisy air conditioner HAD to be on at all times making it difficult to hear conversations.
The very best feature was the downtown location.....especially after the pub below closed.
.
- Carolyn (10/5): - Great location and under the new management it seems that a thorough deep cleaning has been done. It is noisy from the bar below at closing time so be prepared for that if you choose to stay here. Perhaps a stove top kettle to boil hot water for tea would be nice.
- Victor (8/5): - Location excellent for Avon Theatre and shopping.
First step at the street entrance is too high. Grab bar mounted on the door frame will help.
Handrail should be continuous at the top of the stair.
Foot stool should be offered to access the high bed.
- Mary (8/5): - Excellent choice for a group - very comfortable and clean condition.
- Matthew (4/5): - We booked 2 of the units for 2 nights. the location is great and we have stayed at this property prior to the pandemic and really liked it. However, this time it was not cleaned to the standard it had previously been, it's very tired and really needs a good deep clean and refresh (bedding, stains on bedding, not clean, sofa beds, sofa, painting etc.)
The sofa beds are really terrible, no bedding, old and really in need of updating as terrible standard when compared to a few years prior. Not what we had expected on our return trip. The property has a great location, and great potential if they were to give it a good refresh, including the soda beds and bedding available for these.
I would not book again unless the property was updated and ungraded from his current condition.
- Richard (8/5): - great location. lots of room. clean
- Carter (8/5): - A pleasant little apt in downtown Stratford, good enough for what it is. Trouble with WIFI but attentive owner checked in otherwise. Happy to recommend!
- Catherine (2/5): Gross!!!!!!!!! Do not recommend!!!! - As we walked into the entry way, the floors were dirty. Walking up very narrow flight of stairs with cobwebs. There was a musty odour in the unit. I went hang a bag on a hook which immediately fell off the wall. Opening of window completely felt of grim. Bottom bed sheet had stains. I was completely grossed out. My husband who can deal with much more than I, couldn’t wait to leave. He had some business to do and the wifi was not working. So disappointed I was tempted to sleep in the car. Pics and reviews must be of another location as this would be zero stars.
- Tamie (6/5): Great location. Needs some TLC though - The location is amazing!! The apt. is roomy. There were 6 of us. The bathrooms are both ensuites so makes it weird for anyone sleeping on the pull out sofas. They have to go through the bedrooms to use the washroom. We booked for 3 nights and were supplied 2 1/2 rolls of toilet paper. Requested more supplies and none arrived. I was thankful I had packed some cleaning supplies as they were put to good use! Much rearranging was needed to be able to use both pull out sofas. Would have loved to have access to a broom as the floors needed a good sweep! Would have used the spare pillows but they had no cases on them :( The sheets were stained also. Our group made the best of it. We felt bad leaving because much recycle and garbage was left. We would have gladly got rid of it but no direction given as to where to put it. The place could be top notch if cared for properly. Its time to invest is some upgrades (furniture is used and abused) When we had to move side tables to set up sofas we were worried the one would fall apart!
- Pamela Dale (8/5): - There was a miscommunication regarding our booking at St. Georges Suites, and the property owner put us in another property just around the corner from St. Georges at 11 Market Place. The apartment is up one flight of stairs and is spacious and charming. The ceilings are high with exposed brick walls on both sides. It's located in the heart of Stratford, across the street from the Avon Theater, with multiple restaurants surrounding it. There is a full kitchen and large bathroom with tub and shower. Great location!
- Karen (10/5): - This apartment was perfectly located, clean and such a great value for a family or larger group coming to Stratford to take in a play. Note that if you are coming to stay on a Friday or Saturday though and you are bothered by noises at night there is a bar directly below across from the Avon Theatre that makes quite a bit of loud talking and noise well into the night. Probably only an issue also in the summer months when the patio is open though. Totally not enough of an issue to deter me from staying here as the place was perfect!
- Margaret (10/5): - Beautiful and perfect for all my family to be together! Carl was very helpful when we first arrived.
- Sharon (6/5): - Downtown easy access. Clean space. Large unit.
Key was not where it was supposed to be and we had to wait. Steep stairs going into the unit may be difficult for some. Loud pub nearby had lots of noise and singing at 1:30am.
- Victoria (10/5): - Beautiful space above the Stratford downtown, such a convenient location.
- Carol (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay in .the Luxury Suite.
Pros: It has a full living room with sofa beds; a kitchen; 2 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms.
Very roomy and comfortable space.
1pm check-in is convenient for getting to the 2 pm matinee.
The Avon Theatre is right across the street.
Close to shops and restaurants
Cons: you have to carry your luggage up a very tall, steep stairway to reach the suite.
no 24 hour parking nearby, the parking lot is a few blocks away.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great for frugal theater fans who cook - We really enjoyed our suite, which was the entire second floor of a historic building on a downtown street. The suite itself was nicely updated, though the 140+ year old floor slanted slightly in places. Our suite had one queen bed and one queen-size sofa bed.
The stairs were narrow and steep so anyone with mobility issues or very small children should make sure to indicate this on the reservation so that you are assigned a different suite by the owner.
For those who don't mind cooking some of their meals on vacation, and who want to save money on food so you can afford more Stratford Festival tickets, this is a good option. The kitchen was well-supplied with cooking/eating utensils for 4 people, and a pod coffeemaker. Coffee pods were supplied but all other groceries need to be brought with you. (There were several small grocery shops in walking distance, plus a weekend outdoor market.) Unfortunately our suite had no ice cube trays or serrated knife, and only two coffee mugs/wine glasses.
The free parking lot run by the city was conveniently located a short walk away.
This suite gave us walking access to all of the Stratford Festival's theaters and the downtown shops and restaurants.
The electronic lock on the front door, with a code specific to our stay that was emailed to us just before our stay, took a little getting used to but it was a good system.
- Angel (8/5): Could be cleaner - Location is unbeatable, central to everything with a short walk. Parking was free but a short 5 minute walk away. Close to a police station so the area is safe. 1 pm check in was a plus since most places it’s 3 pm. The stairs to go up were narrow which could be an issue for some people. Once inside, it was spacious and bright. Did not see or receive any instructions on wifi but we only stayed for one night so not a big deal. Cleanliness could definitely improve because the towels had stains and floors had a lot of hair and dust, and cobwebs around the doors and walls.
- Kevin (4/5): - Sheets on sofa beds both dirty and extra sheet set in drawers were not folded aand possibly dirty as well, one had a 2' x 2' hole through it. Toilet seat was dirty and we washed the dishes before using as they looked dirty too. too.
- Darcy (8/5): - Right in the heart of downtown Stratford - amazing location and nice big space.
- Shannon (8/5): - the location to downtown is great. The beds were comfy - nice bathrooms. Kitchen needed a bit of upgrade but still fine. Alot of stairs to climb up - so not good if you cannot do stairs.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Excellent location in Stratford, lots of room in suite.
There were a couple of issues however Nick managed these effectively and in a timely manner. Amenities were not a present only due to COVID.
- Alexandra (10/5): - Very charming unit in the heart of Stratford. Was very clean, with the amenities of a hotel and feeling of a cozy apartment, with large historic windows overlooking one of the theatres. Owners were available and accommodating. Would recommend for weekend stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We didn’t receive the apartment that I booked talked to owner, was unable to give us the apartment another group was currently renting it.
- play-goer (8/5): - Location is unbeatable - 1/2 block from the Avon Theatre, and in the heart of the shopping/dining district. However, despite the claim on the website, it is NOT accessible: there is a steep stairway up to the apartment, which was difficult for my old, arthritic knees. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had all the needed appliances, but only the minimum of supplies - coffee, tea, sugar, creamer. The "free parking" was in a municipal lot several blocks away that had a 24-hour limit.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We had a confirmed booking for a 2-bedroom suite and were told on arrival that only a 1-bedroom suite was available. The owner gave us a discount on the suite but we would have preferred a 2-bedroom. Wifi was so spotty we gave up on it. Air conditioning units are very loud. We turned them off and opened the windows and had to contend with street noise and cigarette smoke wafting up from under the window where a sketchy group of people tended to congregate. The unit was other wise clean and comfortable and conveniently located to theAvon theatre and restaurants. The check-in process was complicated and frustrating. Would not stay again.
- Mariah (10/5): Downtown Stratford - Location was fantastic. The bathroom was wonderful, the shower was large, no tub though, small sink. The bed was comfortable, with different types of pillows. The full kitchen was clean and nice.
- Christopher (10/5): - Everything was wonderful other than that late night noise from the bar below. We turned on some white noise which helped.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved it right across from the theatre. and after the pub night just went right up.
Looking to stay again.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - The suite was so close to everything. Right across from the Avon theatre. Six of us stayed and plenty of room for everyone. Wi-Fi worked great. Would recommend to anyone to stay here!
- Victoria (10/5): - Great location downtown for theatre (Avon Theatre is just steps away) and restaurants.
- Graham (10/5): - Very central... just a short walking distance to everything. The older property was full of character, right down to the skightly sloping wood floors... loved it!
- Vanley (10/5): - Convenient location, clean and spacious. Check in was easy.
- Rich (8/5): - Really enjoyed the space but as we had booked for ) persons, the pull out sofa-bed for one couple was substandard. Very uncomfortable. The suite could use a small dining table. Otherwise we were all very pleased.
- C (8/5): - was perfect for the 5 of us Only draw back was the wi fi wasn't very good. Other than that it was perfect for what we were there for
- Heather (10/5): - Great location. Excellent and helpful service. Clean and spacious rooms.
- Ron (10/5): - The location is terrific and the apartment is spacious and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 2 separate bedrooms and full kitchen right downtown.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, great location.
- Christine (10/5): - Place was perfect for seeing a show at the Avon theatre. its literally 10 seconds away !! it may be a challenge for anyone who can not do stairs or likes to sit outside but if you are going to be out and about it does not matter. Little tricky finding it. The door is not the door you go in but its easy to figure out because Nick the owner is very helpful. Beds were very comfortable and place literally had anything you may need to stay for weeks! Comfy!! one more thing. Wifi was tricky to figure out. Just need to re-write the instructions :)
- Toiletman (8/5): - Great location Dwntwn if your attending the Festival. Even a great Irish bar just around the corner for lively entertainment!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect place to stay in Stratford
Very close to downtown venues
- NL (10/5): Pleasant and convenient hotel. - Really good location, and pleasant hotel. Owners were very nice. Lots of space with living room, kitchen, loft, two nice bedrooms and two bathrooms. There are stairs, so would not be good location for everyone. We hope to visit again soon.
- Pat (10/5): Nice unit, near theater, restaurants & shopping - Excellent for theater goers. Suite was clean, contemporary & accommodated our party of four well. Owner close by to provide personal assistance. Free parking in municipal lot nearby that allowed in and out privileges.
- Ron (8/5): The location is ideal - The two bedroom and two bath apartment was well furnished and provided a comfortable residence for the 9 days we spent Stratford. We were not greeted on arrival after calling the reception line. However we found the unit unlocked and a key waiting for us on the kitchen counter, The apartment was serviced twice during our stay. The only inconvenience was the stair climb to the unit.
- anne (10/5): Great location - Spacious, convenient, clean with perfect downtown location
- Verified traveler (6/5): in theatre district - Noisy at night. City cleaners start very early around 4 am.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great place... Close to Avon Theatre and downtown. - Park your vehicle hit free and then Walk to Avon theatre, dining and shops of downtown.
