• KhushG (7/5): Mostly good, but a couple of issues - Location was great, right next to the Night Market. The room was comfortable and the shower was brilliant. The WiFi was not good, it kept on disconnecting and in my room particularly (Room 101) I kept hearing water falling as if it had been tipped from a bucket.

• Lena (8/5): - Wir haben im Hido Hostel ein Zimmer mit Meerblick gebucht. Vom Balkon aus hat man einen tollen Blick aufs Wasser. Frühstück wird nicht vom Hotel direkt, sondern über das kleine Lokal Magic Kitchen bereit gestellt (ca. 2 Min. zu Fuß entfernt). Man kann auf einem Voucher zwischen 3 Sandwich Varianten und Getränken (Schwarzer Kaffee, Sojamilch oder Milchtee - also typisch taiwanesisch) auswählen. Gegessen wird entweder im Lokal oder to go. Wir haben uns für den Balkon des Zimmers entschieden. Wie so oft in Taiwan müsste man eine vegetarische Alternative extra angeben / vorbestellen. Die Anreise nach Kenting erfolgte bei uns mit dem Tourismus Shuttlebus. Die Station Kenting Police Substation ist fußläufig zum Hotel. Das Hotel bzw Zimmer ist für taiwanesische Verhältnisse modern eingerichtet. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Mit den englischen Grundbegriffen klappte auch der Check In reibungslos. Als Europäer ist man an Toilettenpapier gewöhnt. Im Hido Hostel gab es einen Tuch Spender im Bad. Funktioniert auch so gut.

• Jeffrey (9/5): Wonderful place to stay and our first choice if there is availability. - Hido is nicely located with an ocean view and is located close to the main Kenting strip. Breakfast is a simple sandwich with a drink but a good start to your day. Parking is not for sure, but if you get there earlier then there are places to park.

• Chiu (10/5): Excellent location, excellent facilities, excellent view, excellent staff. - Excellent location - close to the beach and kenting street, but still quiet and peaceful. The sea view is very very worth the price - phenomenal value. Owner is friendly and polite (of course it’s taiwan couldn’t expect less from these lovely people). Toilet and bath is very new and clean, with a stepped sitting area near the balcony - very thoughtful design. Only accessible by stairs, a slight inconvenience but not a big deal. Saw the cleaner placed towels on the staircase as well - but I guess it’s just common practice - wouldn’t expect 100% sanitised towels from any place anyways.

We had a little balcony looking at the sunsets and moon over the ocean. Very lovely. The breakfast vouchers are for a Cafe down the road. The food was ok but we have much preferred the traditional Chinese breakfasts offered in other places.

• Petch (7/5): Good room, great view, good times - The room is spacious and the view offered in the sea view room is superb. We enjoyed looking through the room window. Nice and clean all around. The bed was comfy and the water dispenser, and coffee machine is a nice touch. The hotel is easy to walk to, however, we got confused as there are many hotel with the same name and the staff got confused led us to another hotel, but actually we were at the right one already. The breakfast was ok, you have to walk a little bit to get to the restaurant and they offer 3-4 choices to choose from. Lastly, do not bring too large luggage, the hotel doesn't have any elevator.

• Juyee (8/5): valued for money beach front hotel, near night market - good size room and toilet. clean. convenient location with nearby public car park if needed. good taiwan sandwich breakfast. 5 min walk to Kenting night market the doors and connecting walls are quite thin hence if you have other noisy guest staying you can hear them going in and out of their rooms and up and down the stairs making it difficult to sleep. we gave feedback to the hotel staff and they spoke to noisy guest which made it better on the next night

• Ian (7/5): Best of both worlds. Secluded yet still at the heart of the action - Very stylish hotel moments from the heart of the action in Kenting town. Tucked neatly away from the hustle and bustle, you'll enjoy views of the beach and a very comfortable stay. The reception appeared to be staffed only part of the time which is fine if you're a low maintenance traveller but don't expect them to be at your beckon call. Tokens are given for breakfast at a nearby cafe which sadly isn't quite on par with the hotel itself.
• Yi-ting (8/5): Great View - Close to the Kenting main St. Great sea view (no rooftop, the beach chair is only for the room on the top floor). The front desk was not very helpful in providing information.
