Guest Reviews
- Sam (10/5): Fantastic,, would book again :) - Lovely property, very clean n tidy and friendly I loved the property,, only thing was my room was at the top ,, 3rd floor,, and that last flight of stairs was a killer lol. I loved dolphin rooms
- Lisa (7/5): Enjoyed our time, had a nice break - Good location, clean room one way street and no parking
- Anna (1/5): - Nothing It was not clean and very poor condition
- channel (10/5): exceptional - room was beautiful , unexpected surprise 4 poster bed , very clean and tidy and staff were all polite and lovely
- COLIN (3/5): Nice breakfast Sausage shame about everything else - Breakfast was ok Dont be fooled by the photos on the website. This is a HMO being rented out as a room for the night.
I arrived to a sign advising to check in 20 metres down the road so I did and parked on a separate hotel carpark (which had the amazing odour of weed drifting across it) once I checked in i was shown to the accomodation.
Housed in a terraced house I had the delight of being allocated what would have been the sitting room. So had the pavement 40 cm from my window which didnt feel particularly private as people could see me lay on the bed watching TV whilst walking past.
It did however give me a good view of the house opposite where there was a steady stream of people arriving on bikes and knocking in the side door then leaving with packages. I can only assume it was some type of distribution centre possibly linked with the carpark smell mentioned earlier.
As the room was located next to the front door other guests were welcome to smoke outside the front door, which was next to my windows and of course the small drifted in which wasnt pleasant.
When night time arrived there were no blackout blinds here either just some substandard curtains that allowed the sun to stream in at 5am.
The wooden flooring (which i guess is easy to clean) although I think the cleaner must have been off ill due to the dust around the room, did nothing to allow residents to walk around there room quietly and at times I thought Michael Flatley and his riverdance team were going up and down the hallway.
The ensuite was tastefully 🙄 tiled completely in black, floor and walls making it hide any dirt and dust very well. I wish I had brought a head torch to find my way around it.
The morning arrived and as a terraced house it was bin day so the council bin truck arrived to collect other residents bin at 6.30am I didnt matter as I had been awake since 5am due to the sun beaming through.
Breakfast was actually ok, although not a huge choice but was priced well and service was quick.
- Clough (10/5): - Brill location . They upgraded us too will come here again
- gemma (8/5): Great for a quick getaway - Close to train station, shops and beach.
Friendly staff
Clean.
Beds extremely comfy.
Big fan as room gets quite warm.
Clean spacious on suite. My son decided to explore and pulled open the bedside drawer which fell apart and landed on his foot so that could do with replacing.
- Linda (9/5): Very enjoyable -

- kris (10/5): Best bed and breakfast style property have stayed at. - Bed and pillows very comfy
Sky television
Good bathroom
Iron Can’t think of a fault
- Lee (1/5): -
- Sznajder (10/5): fantastic - Bery nice personel
- Casey (5/5): - Bed was not comfy and squeaked every time any me of my partner moved slightly and no toilet roll
- Kelly (6/5): Disappointing - Close to all shops, bars, restaurants the beach. Staff were very friendly. Comfy bed It advertises that breakfast can be served in the room and room service is available but this wasn’t the case, the room is in a converted terrace house you have to go to a hotel at the end of the street for breakfast. Keys to all rooms are identical so guests in other rooms can access your room.
- Jonathan (9/5): - The room was lovely Went for breakfast staff was just talking to customers for ages took quite a bit to get a coffee. Coffee come & we had to go to another table for cups as the staff was talking. Breakfast comes out nearly finished all our breakfast then they bring the toast out. Terrible service for breakfast
- Julie (8/5): Very convienient very friendly hotel but not the cheapest. - Lovely breakfast Price
- Richard (8/5): Location and Lovely staff x - The staff were fabulous and the location is brilliant Nothing the only thing and they ask you straight away is that maybe the breakfast should be included in the price ? x
- Adele (7/5): - Location The bed was squeaky and needs new pillows
- Rod (8/5): -
- Zara (10/5): -
- Docherty (6/5): Spoiled by a group of extremely noisy guests repeatedly climbing the wooden stairs ant laughing and chatting in the earl - Nice clean room with a comfortable bed The room was not in the hotel but a terraced house nearby. This was not clear from booking.com. I had planned to eat in the hotel and had to go out for food. The work station in the room was not practical.
Also other very noisy guests woke me twice which would be more unlikely in a hotel setting
- Joanne (10/5): Great clean & comfortable room, wonderful stay. - Great central location, really enjoyed our one night stay here, lovely friendly staff on reception and at the bar at Dovedale hotel, room was clean, very warm, comfortable bed and everything you need in the room. I wouldn't hesitate booking this accommodation again. (We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on the food) There is nothing we didn't like about this property.
- Alicia (10/5): - Staff so helpful, brekky lovely. I managed to get parking at the hotel. The room was beaut and so clean. Beds fresh. Bathroom was lovely. Decor all modern. No faulting it. Me and my daughter stayed but lots of room. Nothing
- Stephanie (7/5): -
- Alison (10/5): Great affordable stay - The room was very spacious, clean and fresh smelling. Bathroom modern and again spacious. Beds were comfortable. The location was excelent for town & beach but very quiet and peaceful.Parking was available outside the rooms at a small cost or across road at the hotel for free. Wifi was very good as the choice of sky channels on a good sized tv.The breakfast was good quality ingrediants and cooked perfectly which was served in the hotel. ( Lovely hotel) All staff we came across were very friendly and helpful. Smooth check-in. No net at the window which was overlooked by houses so felt a little exposed. Pillows had seen better days and were a little lumpy.
- Cooper (8/5): Great stay a - Cleanliness too hot
- Sam (7/5): -
- kevin (10/5): Nice place to stay - Local to everything beds really comfortable spot on Nothing
- Mark (6/5): Disappointed and no better than the standard bnbs locally. Staff were friendly and work hard. - Location was good. Communal areas clean and warm. Staff were lovely. The bed rattled and the mattress wasn’t particularly comfortable, which made for a poor night’s sleep. The radiator in the room didn’t work, and overall the décor felt quite dated and in need of updating. I’m also not a fan of a shower curtain over the bath — a proper shower setup would be much better.
The room didn’t match the images shown online, which appeared to show newer or more recently refurbished rooms. It was also quite difficult to find, as it’s advertised as Dolphin Rooms but is actually part of the Dovedale Hotel, which wasn’t clearly explained beforehand.
- Mark (8/5): -
- Anthony (7/5): Not bad stay except the mattress - The location The bed was too soft and woke up with bad back
- Karen (8/5): - A nice room in a converted terraced house, 20 metres from the hotel. The sea front is very close. It's on the first floor so there are quite a few steps and no lift
- David (10/5): - Everything! Nothing.
- Lee (10/5): -
- Elli (10/5): Amazing - Very cleans and tidy hotel. Very helpfully at the deck. Would come back here again N/A
- Tracey (10/5): Great place - Lovely clean place ,staff were excellent. Parking was difficult
- Simona (10/5): -
- ella (8/5): -
- Joao (10/5): -
- Andrea (9/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): Comfortable and relaxing, excellent - Clean, private and nothing was too much trouble for the staff Nothing to dislike, excellent
- Lee (9/5): Enjoyed stay. Room was clean - Room and Breakfast
- Katherine (6/5): - We liked the location..and the room are nicely decorated
Also the guy who checked us in was great
He accommodated. Our request for sky sports
Only 2 rooms have this apparently
Just unlucky that we were on top floor
Tea tray good .branded tea and coffee
We loved the quirky things in and around the bar lounge area.the beds and pillows were comfy Attitude of couple of staff.one from bar .my husband asked for lemon in his g& t.and was told we haven't got any.youll just have to make do with that ÂŁ10 +
Another female staff with blond hair.unproffesional attitude when asked what was going on outside the hotel in early hours
Screaming.sjouting and possibly fighting
No police called till after 3/ hours
She told me husband in an abrupt manner
Well we can't predict how people are going to behave and that's fine but it's the way she said it
Children were apparently terrified and crying
Maybe on the lower floors
We were on the top floor with my 9 year old granddaughter..luckily she didn't wake up
Also. Room 207 was boiling hot like a furnace
No toiletries like stated on booking .com
Tiny bit of hand soap in dispenser and tiny bit of shower gel
We went out and bought some
Apparently rooms are soundproof..I don't think so
The shower round seals and door were a bit grubby too.we also didn't like 2 flights of steep stairs with bags and suitcases
No good for an older person
But appreciate it's out of there control
Pity there wasn't a lift
- Shaun (9/5): Perfect - Excellent room , bed comfortable
- Micheál J. (10/5): -
- Cath (9/5): Great hotel in Cleethorpes - Great location. Fresh interior and staff are great. Nothing.
- Carrie (9/5): - Checked in at the dovedale hotel reception.
Dolphin rooms location is great and easy to get to everything you need within a minute...coffeeshops, bus stop, beach! Just bit of noise from a nearby restaurant emptying the glass bottle bin.

- David (8/5): -
- Jay (9/5): - Good location and clean Noisy people walking out and being loud .
Not being warned we had to rebook a breakfast the day before
- Paul (10/5): Enjoyed it - Breakfast was amazing ad always at this hotel
- Jay (1/5): - Within 24 hours of booking my stay, my work schedule unexpectedly changed and I no longer required the room. I contacted the General Manager (the son of the owner) to ask whether at least a partial refund might be possible.
In line with the company’s policy, he declined. He was entitled to do so, but two things stood out to me:
1. The interaction felt curt and dismissive, with little empathy or willingness to help.
2. Given that this is a family-run business, I was surprised there was no attempt to offer any goodwill gesture or flexibility, especially since the booking had been made less than 24 hours earlier and the hotel was at no real disadvantage in re-letting the room.
I can’t comment on the quality of the accommodation itself, but if my experience of the customer service is representative, I’d advise others to stay elsewhere.
