Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): -
- Cathy (10/5): Amazing beautiful property with a lot of very nice amenities and very kind welcome! - It was a beautiful property and had so many nice aspects. I loved all the plants and the environmental focus and the fact they had bicycles and croquet!
- Beaujean (10/5): Great Place Great memories !
- Felipe Luis (10/5): -
- Brennan (9/5): Great location and overall comfortable however may not be the greatest place to stay if you have very young children. - Great location in a rural area away from busy centres. Easy to drive around to various locations.
The hosts were very friendly and provided everything we needed to cook in the kitchen along with providing snacks and other food/drink free of charge. The weather was not the greatest during the stay. The home got quite cold particularly in the late evening and early morning. There is a wood stove to start a fire which was nice to combat the cold.
Travelling with a toddler was a little stressful as there is stairs in the home. It would’ve been good to have baby gates across the various set of stairs.
- Elisa (10/5): -
- Gregory (10/5): Perfect introduction to the Azores. - Host provided excellent local knowledge. So many little extra things provided that made the stay lovely. Nothing
- mireia (10/5): Un allotjament excepcional - Un allotjament excepcional.
- Dariusz (10/5): A true paradise, definitely worth coming back! - We loved the area, swimming pool and the house. Ricardo is an amazing host- thank to him this place has a unique soul. Our stay was very relaxing and full of amazing surprises- delicious bread, selection of cheeses, jams and many others. The animals and plants around were amazing too! We’re planning to come back to this little paradise with our whole family! Our clothes wouldn’t dry during rainy days, but the house is supplied with an oil radiator and another electric one in the bathroom, so it was enough for us🤗
- Julie (10/5): Wonderful stay and the host, Rui, was very kind and helpful in providing information and answering questions. - Very quaint house and beautiful views from the property.
- Rebecca (10/5): Ideal location for breathtaking views of the Azore Countryside. - The property was uniquely located at the bottom of the highest peak and near a beautiful lookout to watch the sunset. The surrounding village is breathtaking. There wasn’t anything about the property that we didn’t like. Just take note you are on the country side so there are limitations to convenient access to restaurants and mini marts, especially on Sunday’s.
- Juliette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (10/5): Wonderful, clean & comfortable home on NE side of island - Very lovely setting in a rural town. Ocean view. Great location for seeing the northeast side of the island. Beautiful, comfortable little home away from home. Loved being able to have a fire in the fireplace on damp, cool evenings. Rui made great suggestions for everything from trails to restaurants. In warmer weather, the pool would have been wonderful. The bread and other food items provided were great for having breakfast at “home”, and for packing a picnic lunch. Really nice to be able to do laundry during our stay! Highly recommend this place! The house was very cold when we arrived. Would have been nice to have it warmed up before we got there. Once we got it warm, it was fine for the remainder of our time there.
- Maegan (10/5): - This was an incredible accommodation. The host went above and beyond to take care of us and share tips/information about the area. Highly reccomend it for your stay in the North!
- Madam (10/5): Amazing! - Everything was very clean, organized and of course beautiful. We had an amazing view and also the spot is at a beautiful location. Rui and Delia are amazing people and helpful. We got many recommendations what we should visit. Any time coming back again:)
- Joshua (10/5): Exceptional - So peaceful and quiet. comfortable and firm bed (important for chronic back/neck sufferer such as myself!). Amazing staff and owner. Great local guide resources!
- Lila (10/5): - Casa d’Arco of Tradicampo was the best home we have ever stayed at. The huge terrace patio with peaceful views of a nearby farm and rolling hills, the cozy fireplace, the beautifully appointed bedrooms taking one back many decades with their classic decor. The attention to detail to make you feel at home is superb - bath robes, slippers, extra blankets, fireplaces, fresh baked goods and home made jams, fully stocked kitchen with condiments and nice surprises in the fridge, a Christmas tree, gorgeous decor, board games, movies, personalized guide book and website,
nature trail recommendations, and a detailed personal welcome to the property by Riu. Everything was spotlessly clean, there were towels in abundance with warming racks nearby. The gardens are exquisite, there are bikes available, croquet, a pool, washer and dryer, just endless. Our stay was perfect and we wish we could have stayed longer, but hope to come back in the future. We loved it that much.
- Lucia (10/5): Small, cozy, close to all attractions on east side - Location was perfect to explore the east and south side of the island. Secured parking, and beautiful garden, with pool, washer and dryer and outdoor grill.
- Annkathrin (9/5): Great stay - The house is well equipped and everything was clean.
Rui is awesome as a host, always there, has great ideas on what to see & do. Plus fresh bread delivery :)
- Mrs. (10/5): Very recommended - Clean, comfortable, equipped kitchen, laundry, dishwasher, great garden, BBQ and fireplace.
Big comfy bath.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff Not so many stores \ restaurants around so requires a bit of planning
- Lisa (8/5): - Lovely suite, view and gardens.Welcomed with some extra touches ( bread, homemade sweets, liqueur and some fridge items) when we arrived as well as a lot of information on things to do in the area. Very nice place.
- Aisling (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house and garden, equipped with everything you could need for
throughout your stay and so much attention to detail. Rui and Ricardo are wonderful hosts and gave us the best tips to help us make the most of our stay. The location is perfect for exploring the eastern half of the island. Cannot fault anything, we had an absolutely amazing stay here!
- Quentin (10/5): Excellent! - The hosts very generally left us with breakfast materials and various other things to enjoy from the kitchen. We were also served with lots of great regional tips for activies, hikes, etc. House came with access to washer / dryer, library of books, ocean view pool and comfortable king sized beds. Highly recommend!
- Rachel (9/5): Lovely northeast stay - Beautiful location with views over sea and lovely pool and garden
So peaceful
Outdoor eating area
Lots of nice things provided like local bread and eggs and breakfast foods and tea coffee and oil and salt Quite a few internal steps between rooms
A bit hot at night in bedrooms
A bit dark inside as was a traditional house
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rose (8/5): Small self-contained apartments - Small self-contained apartments in a gated property provide privacy.
There was a lot of information available regarding the region / activities.
Some local products were provided in the kitchen to allow us to make breakfast during our stay, though the option for catered breakfast would have been nice.
There was a pool for common use of the apartments, which we did not use due to weather. Compared to the other places we stayed on the islands across the Azores, this place was our least favourite all-considered so not necessarily a specific negative but just a comparison based on our experience.
The check-in took a long time so perhaps this aspect could be improved.
- Barbie (4/5): Needs maintenance improvements - The apartment needs maintenance since many items didn’t work properly when we arrived. The cheap plastic coffee machine wasn’t filtering properly and overflowed twice. There was an ant infestation problem so we were barely able to cook and relax. They didn’t have a key to the safe so I was unable to use it. Also the potatoes and onion that were given to us to cook with were rotten. There is no AC in the apartment and a fan was only provided after I had to request one and wait a day. If you choose to wash your clothes be careful since the weather can change out of nowhere and there is no dryer provided so we had to move our clothes indoors to finish drying after they got wet again from the unexpected rain. Since the weather is unpredictable a dryer should be provided. The pool area and outdoors surrounding area is breathtaking but I’m not sure it is enough for me to want to stay in this particular apartment again.
- Verena (10/5): Would definitely stay there again! - Everything was perfect - from the warm welcome by Rui with many recommendations what to do in the area, to the wonderful garden and pool and of course the super well equipped and clean house (and surroundings!). They also gift you with fresh bread, homemade marmalade, butter, milk, cheese and everything else one needs for a breakfast at home. The view from the garden is beautiful to have a glass of wine and watch the sunset.
Nordestinho is a very quiet part of the island, you can go for walks or easy hikes directly from the accommodation.
We stayed for 2 nights but wished we could have stayed longer!
- Jeffrey (10/5): Amazing great stay thank you. - Amazing location. Great host.
- Janice (10/5): Had a wonderful stay, the eco house was charming, would reserve again! -
- Johannes (10/5): Exceptional - The flat felt like home and is so cozy, the welcoming was really warm, the garden is beautiful, the view perfect. Algarvia is a cute and quiet village close to Nordeste and we loved starting our trips from here. We would always choose this accomodation and will sure be back some day.
- Nancy (10/5): - Great views
Lightly stocked fridge
Washer/dryer
Pool
Grounds
Staff
- Christian (9/5): Excellent place to stay on north side of Sao Miguel with helpful host who provided us with a thorough explanation of wha - The property had excellent facilities in a small rural village. Nothing
- Bart (9/5): Superb - Thank you Rui for all the tips!
Rui really took the time to explain everything.
We had a wonderfull view in the appartement.
Everything you need is available, even a fireplace for a chilly evening and there were also bikes,… it was perfect ☺️ That you had to give a specific time of arrival and departure, understandable, because Rui is there to meet you, but not easy to predict when travelling around this beautiful island ☺️
- Davis (10/5): Our favorite place we stayed in the Azores! - It was comfortable, beautiful location, loved having a well stocked kitchen and the welcome basket was exceptional! The gardens were lovely as was the pool (a little chilly for April!) Nothing- we loved it all!
- Emma (10/5): Quiet, charming & relaxing - Really peaceful and quiet. Rui was amazing helping with local recommendations and stocking the fridge with eggs, milk and cheese. Perfect place to spent a couple of days. N/A
- Yevgeniy (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent staff, maximum service, even elements of home cooking, bicycles and more were included in the price.
- Daniel (9/5): I’ld go back in a heartbeat! - Beautiful setting with outstanding views, when the weather allows. Unit is comfortable and clean with everything you need and they supply some food to get you started in case you get there late and didn’t have time to buy some groceries. Rui spent time explaining everything in the unit and use of bikes or croquet. Beautiful grounds. Also has free laundry available, firewood for stove insert and very comfortable bed. Great location for the east and central part of the island. There was a slight musty smell but they have a dehumidifier in the bedroom and the wood stove dried it out. You have to consider the weather was cloudy, rainy and misty until our last day.
- Robert (10/5): - Phenomenally friendly and knowledgeable host; very well-furnished and well-appointed unit. A lovely place to stay!
- Bessie (10/5): Overall the accommodation provided us with everything we needed for a lovely stay. - Great country setting, wonderful fire place to enjoy in the evening, beautiful garden, convenient washer, cozy sofa, generous food provided and wonderful tips and recommendations provided by Ricardo. It was cold in the evening, so we had to be careful to not trip the breaker if a heater and the kettle were on at the same time.
- Vasilii (9/5): Superb -
- Romana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tomasz (9/5): Pleasantly remote. Cosy. Great for cooking. U got both cabin like privacy and hotel like service. -
- Pyowon (10/5): wonderful place to visit in winter season - Beautiful garden, spacious cottage and fireplace in winter season.
They prepared fresh bread, milk and yogurt.
Car parking in the cottage, Different actual address with booking.com site.
I understand they have several cottages in different location.
Customer must confirm the exact location in Tradicampo site.
- Mik (10/5): The best stay of our one month road-trip. - It felt like coming home every time (they even made sure that the fridge was stoked with the essentials, e.g. local jam and homemade pastries).
If you haven’t fully planned your trip yet don’t even worry Rui will tell you all about the hidden gems of the island.
We 100% recommend these beautiful country houses.
- Phillip (10/5): Wonderful - I loved everything about this stay and can’t recommend it enough. I stayed in four different places on São Miguel and this was my favorite. I stayed in Talha, which was a beautiful, charming house supplied with everything I could possibly need — absolutely loved the view of garden. Coordinating with Tradicampo was easily and efficient, and Rui provided a lot of helpful information upon check in. The location was amazing, with the thermal springs of Furnas, epic eastern cliffs, and amazing hiking all within about half an hour. I stayed three days but easily could have spent two weeks here!
- Iuliia (10/5): Exceptional - It was the best place for us to stay at San Miguel!
Feels like home❤️
Beautiful territory, wonderful surroundings. We had everything that we need and spend a lot of time at our house.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fabian (10/5): Exceptional - All at the very high level, magic surroundings of the house with magnificent views over the ocean, sunrise and sunset. A special thanks to Ricardo for a very warm welcome and lots of activities advice :) Nothing
- Bastian (10/5): Exceptional - Pool, Garden, View, Neighbours (lots of cows!), Barbeque
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - really beautiful apartment and complex. perfectly equipped with everything you might need. also amazing host and team at the place. really everything you could wish for
- Martha (9/5): We loved staying here. They even had a beautiful festival just to walk down. The street would definitely stay here again - The unit is beautiful. There’s a leveling outdoor area for eight in the rooms. Have big comfortable beds. There are two very clean bathrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed and it was extremely clean. There’s great parking in the grounds are beautiful. There was a problem with the locks on the door which needed replacement but we worked it out.
- Alison (10/5): I will be back!! - Wonderful little cottage with everything you need. Stunning ocean and mountain view from the pool which is about 8m long ( not great at sizes but I could swim in it). Loved the extra little touches made by the owner - welcome handmade cakes, local bread, eggs and cheese - enough for breakfast ( and some!) Nothing. It was perfect.
- Pavel (10/5): Fantastic gem - Very nice structure, well curated and we felt at home
Ricardo was very kind in welcoming us, suggesting also activities to do (with a very detailed hiking book), nearby restaurants and things to do
The house was super clean, peaceful and with nice views
Overall, the structure has some negative points (mainly the house smell and the cold pool), but we really felt at home and welcomed by professional staff, with services thought for a traveller. I also appreciated a lot the fact that basics for a rich first breakfast were provided.
It is actually one of the few 10s I have given here on booking, and I am a Genius Level 3, so congrats for the amazing job! The house smelled a little bit of old house, it would be advisable to put some fragrances as the first impact is not very nice
The pool was cold and we could not enjoy it during our stay. It would be great to have it heated
- Claraj (9/5): Superb -
- Silvija (9/5): Superb -
- Bzgermany (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our Stay here. The conservatory is a dream. Very beautiful accommodation. Would book again. -
- Rachel (10/5): Perfect stay - I have a stayed all over the world abs this was one of the loveliest places I have ever stayed.
The house is traditional yet modern and comfortable with views over the sea and a warm infinity pool.
The host was so welcoming and helpful and told us how to make the most of the island in the time we had.
They include fresh bread and breakfast things like ham butter milk coffee etc.
They offer beach and pool towels.
There is a garden and pond and free use of cycles.
The North East is quiet and undeveloped and we loved it.
The house is still fine to see the whole island if you hire a car. We loved it all
- Jelka (9/5): Casa/room with a (great) view. - A great Casa. Especially the garden room and the terrace was amazing. The welcomebasket and all the suggestions of Rui were very welcome. Good place to explore the east and central part of beautiful Sao Miguel.
- Adrià (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place, surroundings and host. We will repeat for sure!
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional - Rui was very welcoming and explained everything; we were welcomed with much appreciated extra food and everything was beyond our expectations!
- Sonia (8/5): Very good -
- Upmacis (9/5): Overall super pleasent stay with great features and stunning view. - Every detail was thought about and we felt welcomed. The terittory had lot to offer and our apartment was secluded, with lots of personal spaces and a super great view to the ocean. The only critic point was the “moldish” smell in the first day from the wet climate that has gotten into the houses walls and fabrics.
- Job (10/5): lovely tiny home with amazing view & sunsets - Lovely decorated and fully equipped tiny home. We especially loved the views over the hills and sea and the wonderful sunset every evening. Rui was extremely friendly and had some great tips for things to do in the area. Highly recommend this place! nothing
- Piotr (10/5): i was great with big letter G - everythig was great, especialy when we come rooms was ready and the fridge was full for us. i was my first time when somebody fill for me the fridge nothing
- Emma (10/5): Fantastic stay and would definitely stay again! We loved our time here! - The location of the property was amazing! Easy onsite parking and it didn’t take too long to get to everything we wanted to!
- Glenda (10/5): We loved everything g about it! - Tradicamp was a very special place in every respect! We loved it- location, tranquility, warmth of the traditional decore, detailed attention to every comfort, incredible library of the Azores and exceptional hospitality. Couldn’t have been better!
- Natalia (9/5): Peace and quiet - Very calm and beautiful place. The house itself is quiet big and comfortable with "all you need" inside. As the very nice welcome we received some local specialties (cakes from Marta were delicious). The manager gave us some recommendations about sights, restaurants and markets. The house is marked on google maps so is easy to find. Duves were too warm for the end of April, would be better ro have smth in between the warm duvet and the bed sheet
- Haurova (10/5): The best property I've ever stayed - We stayed in Casa Cisterna, and it exceeded our expectations. Everything was clean, a lot of thoughtful details, beautiful design, literally anything you can need and more. There is always somebody from the staff around and everyone is super friendly. I really can't find any negativity. The swimming pool was freezing - but it's was expectable, we were there in March.
- Yuan (10/5): - I love this gorgeous property. It is located in a quite village on the coastline. It is about 5-minute walk to the nearest viewpoint. Standing on the property, you may overlook the cows, roads, cottages, ocean and sunset. The garden is cute and there are orange, lemon and jasmine trees. The host is great. Richardo gives us tips about hiking, sightseeing spot, restaurants and supermarket. Eggs, fruits, cookies, cheese, milk, yogurt, seasonings and bread are provided. I am a tea lover and found at least 5 different variety to choose from the kitchen cabinet. We have unlimited access to the washer and dryer. Our room is two-bed room and two bathroom. It is perfect for our family of four. We love the atmosphere of the hotel and the village in general, which is quite different from the hotel we lived in Ponta Delgada.
- Olivia (10/5): Perfect! - Quinta das Cycas is an absolutely beautiful place with stunning views and a very pretty garden surrounding the house. We stayed in Appartment Varanda which is a really cozy place with beautiful views from the appartment itself and the terrace. The appartment is very well equipped including a welcome basket with fruit, vegetables, eggs and fresh bread. All the people working there are exceptionally nice and helping, recommending hikes etc. Great place!
- David (10/5): Perfect house! - Wonderful house and garden, houses facilities are perfect and the wooden heater was so nice to keep warm during evening! We will come here again without doubt if we visit again Sao Miguel in a future trip! Nothing
- Hans (10/5): Cozy comfortable stay, tranquil countryside, loved the cows! - A lovely cozy spot to ride out the storms while we stayed here! Lots of rain & wind but no problem with such a wonderful home to hang out in! The fire made it nice & warm, we loved to sit in the glass room & enjoy the view. We especially enjoyed the cow serenades during the daytime! Very rural & peaceful, would stay again! Nothing, a great stay!
- Vered (10/5): A beautiful place in a quiet and calm environment - A beautiful place in a quiet and calm environment, a farm house that was renovated, expanded and turned into a kind of small boutique hotel, very clean, well equipped. The owner welcomed us, guided us to beautiful places on the island. We had a great time on the trip and many thanks to him.
- Apostolos (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and calm. Nice chimney. Ricardos recommendations for hiking and trips were awesome.
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional - Our host, Ricardo, was very friendly and welcoming. He gave us a lot of tips about places to visit. The house was spotless and well-equipped. The location is a bit remote, but it wasn't a problem for us.
- Guyu (10/5): A combination of traditional lifestyle and modern equipmemt. So beautiful and the host was super nice! - We liked it a lot. Nothing.
- Knoppix13 (10/5): Perfect cozy apartment with fireplace and BBQ - Everything great, nice fireplace and outside BBQ -
- Kdj2000 (10/5): Exceptional - We arrived on Christmas Eve and stayed for three nights in Casa Cisterne. The location and site are SPECTACULAR. Our room had 270-degree views. The bedroom, bathroom, and living room/kitchen were all excellent. Because so many things were closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas we made meals happily. Bed was generous and the mattress and beddings were all first rate. Kitchen was well equipped (except the one chef's knife was VERY dull, which made things hard at times.) There are many things to do within easy driving distance. All in all, the best place we've stayed in Sao Miguel across the 5-6 times we've been here. Honestly, nothing (except not having a sharp kitchen knife), which is easy to fix.
- Rúben (10/5): Kind and always available - Kind and always available. The house conditions were perfect and very cozy. The view was amazing! We will certainly return there!
- Hubert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cristian (10/5): excellent - a real experience - exceptional service and experience
