So Thailand!! I highly recommend this hotel for a wonderful Chiang Mai experience! Price was very reasonable
- jason c (10/5): - First off, I just want to say my girlfriend was mad at me for picking this property mostly because of location-she'd lived in Chiang Mai for many years and knew the area. I honestly was impressed by the property, as it was clean and modern and the staff was very attentive and helpful. We got our room and although it was clean and modern, it had a loft bedroom. My knee was injured and I was unable to access the bedroom without much pain going up the stairs. I called the front desk and asked if they had any rooms with a bedroom on the first floor of the unit. They said they were pretty booked up, but there was an executive suite and they could offer it to us for an additional expense. I mentioned I had a knee injury and they said they'd call me back. When they called me back, they offered it to me without an upcharge and I was elated! My knee was happy to :) The manager had changed her mind after realizing I had a knee injury and potentially would not be able to sleep in the bedroom-she made the decision to help and offer a much nicer suite at no extra cost. This made my stay the best it could be and I want to highly recommend this property because of the nice manager and staff that put my well being first over making an additional profit. This is the Thai way, being nice and having a huge heart for us travelers. Thank you for taking care of me when I really needed it! Thank you!!

Places are walkable, like 7/11, a 24-hour laundry service called Fluffy's Wash and Dry, and lots of cute and delicious cafes nearby. I recommend Fernpresso. Overall, I love this hotel, and I recommend it!

Hotel is a little way out from the main area but a short walk or taxi. Road outside hotel was under construction I think due to floods.

Staff are really friendly and helpful and had several good chats with security people in the middle of night in smoking area using google translate. I enjoyed my stay here. Main takeaways are excellent bathroom which is all new and excellent breakfast with helpful and polite staff. Plus very well priced!

- ValValBi (2/5): The worst, overpriced and mean hotel - This is the worse and bad service hotel I have ever stayed. 1. Didn't feel hospitality from the staff 2. I booked a Duplex room for 3 person with breakfast via Agoda, but I were told my room fee not included the additional person breakfast, so need to pay for extra breakfast fee 3. Staff asked us pick the breakfast when check in , but the next day we wait for the breakfast over 20mins 4. The "buffet breakfast" with limited choices and not taste good and veggies not fresh, that's very disappointed with the breakfast, I would rather eat out. 5. The swimming pool and gym room are way small, if the hotel is occupied, it's hard to use the facilities. 6. I requested 3 bottle of water on the day before check out, the staff asked me whether there are 3 person in the room at the beginning, but after that they call back and said because I'll be checking out soon, each bottle of water need to be charged $50 Baht, that's really mean and straight forward as I'm still the customer at that moment, so I really won't recommend this hotel.

The only issue I had was that there are no power outlets anywhere in the bathroom or in the vanity area in the bedroom. Makes it very difficult to use any sort of appliances that we normally use in the bathroom. The pool was very nice, the staff was extremely friendly, and the hospitality was very good. The location is a little bit strange on a dead end little street, but the hotel is very nice and is a good value for the money.

For example, security guard carried your luggage to the reception at check in, staff greeted you when you see them with respect and kindness, open front door for us many times when they were present. We were treated with 5 star service at this 4 star resort and never felt once they want anything in return. It is very clean and genuinely nice atmosphere. Restaurant staff were attentive and catering as well as the fitness and pool area. House keeping staff well kept and cleaned daily of our room with due care. We absolutely have nothing negative to say about the resort but to praise and recommend for anyone. Amazing experience that we were so pampered and very well done! It was clean, modern, good size room and all at a great price. The only downside was plane noise in the evening…as it’s only 10 mins drive from the airport. Good thing we can sleep through anything!

- Minchi (4/5): How is this property a 9+ rating and a 4-star? - The hotel is middle of nowhere and it is not a walkable street from the main road so we had to take a taxi every single time. But this is just the start... There is no way this hotel is 4 stars and here are the reasons why: 1. When we first entered the bathroom it smelled like mold and we found out why. There was an entire row of black mold on the edge of the shower door. After our first night, we told them and they came to clean it during the day but again the rooms should be in clean condition before guests come in. 2. We found mold (again) on the wall, right below the AC, which is the reason why the room felt damp and moldy overall. We tried lowering the temperature but it still smelled moldy. 3. The bed felt like a rock. 4. Don't think the walls, windows nor ceilings are thick enough because we could hear someone dragging a chair at night, could hear airplanes pass by, and the guests across the hallway. The only good things we could think of: were a clean lobby, nice staff in the cafe, and decent food at the restaurant. But overall, we don't understand how this property has a 9+ review and it is supposedly a 4-star hotel.

- shanehI3957KK (10/5): Excellent value and 5 star feel. - Beautiful hotel not too far from Chaingmai old town. Whole hotel and room feels five star with great staff who are friendly and helpful. Room was large and spacious with all required facilities. Pool was beautiful and although not big, we were also usually only people down there. On the downside, everything closes up at 7.30pm which is a bit early although seems standard in Thailand. Balconies are fake, as in they're there but no access to them! Bathroom could have been cleaner and lastly they have an odd system of charging THB 1000 cash on arrival as a deposit....then had to wait for receptionist to inspect room when we checked out before they return it... left a slightly sour taste in an otherwise excellent stay.

Only 2 chairs by the very small pool, which only gets sun for 1 hour at 9am. 2 tables outside to eat breakfast, broken curtains, broken shower. They’ve built balcony’s, but no doors to get out to them. No smoking anywhere but outside reception of hotel. Hotel staff are friendly but this hotel is NOT worth the money!

- lauradtravel (10/5): Lovely place to stay away from crowds - Lovely place to stay and our duplex was perfect for what we needed. The WiFi was a little rubbish upstairs in the bedroom. Location was a little further out than expected but still only a 6 minute walk from 7/11. About 25/30 minute walk into town - just be careful crossing into town as the cars are crazy!
- iamrhys (6/5): Good Hotel, Noisy A/C - Looking at all the 5 star reviews, I was expecting perfection but what we actually got on our one nights stay was fairly average. On arrival they requested 500 baht deposit in cash, wouldn't accept card. Luckily we had some cash left but this meant another trip to the ATM. The AC in our room was too noisy, even on the lowest setting, 23 degrees. It would be quiet for a few minutes, then kick into overdrive for 5 minutes and then double overdrive for 10 minutes longer. Then stop, and repeat, all night. It was only noticeable when we finally went to sleep, which by then was too late to do anything about it as it was 11pm. Personally for me, the location was too far away from the main road. It was a long walk back to the main road and the tuk tuk service was always out of action each time we asked as the driver was collecting other guests from the airport. We found ourselves using grab taxi to get around due to the heat! We had a lovely big balcony overlooking the golf course, but no furniture to sit on, a couple of chairs and a table would be appreciated, as there was minimal space in the room for two people to sit together (without sitting on the bed). Aside from this, the staff were excellent, the hotel looks nice and the rooms were well kept.

The service is helpful and attentive at every turn. The free shuttle to Nimman road and the old town is very helpful.

The stay was nice and the only issue with this place was cleanliness. The staff were friendly and helpful. The l room design was nice and rather large.

Big room but at the expense of cleanliness - greasy hand marks all over cupboards etc. 2 (dead) big bugs in drawers in kitchen with babies also crawling around. So a bit unsure where the remarks about cleanliness come from (and that’s probably the most important thing to me when travelling). On the upside staff seem friendly and generally helpful. Location is okay... in between old town and Nimmanheimen. Overall I feel you could do better in Chiang Mai in the same price range (even 5 star if booking is timed right).

Even walking distance to a lot of things and great food. The facility is great and the staff is beyond amazing. So helpful every time we needed anything and checking in we felt like movie stars with such excellent service. We loved our room (1 bedroom mountain view duplex) and even loved the little bar/cafe located by the pool. We never did use the gym (we were walking so much we didn't feel the need to work out) but that looked like enough for those who wished to use it and the pool was nice and cool. We definitely recommend this hotel and will absolutely stay here again when we revisit Chiang Mai someday.

They say there is a shuttle but it drops you about 1/4 mile outside of the city gates. The pool is a joke. It's like a pool in an underground car park. Freezing cold with 2 loungers in the freezing cold. The chambermaids did not do a good job and be warned the baths are decoration only as there is not enough hot water to fill them. The reception desk were helpful and charming. Especially Juthamas. Impossible to complain or speak to the management or owner. They hide behind their staff. The food we had there was very good.
- Grafton (10/5): Best service ever!! - This place was probably the best hotel stay of my life because of the service. They really went above and beyond. The room was unique and clean. It had a wonderful shower. The people working here were so incredibly nice. We planned an overnight trip to Pai and they arranged a motorbike and stored our bags for us while we were gone. When we got back they offered us a place to shower and a fresh towel even after we had long checked out. The pool area is so nice and relaxing and the coffee was great. They have a tuk tuk to take you in to town. If I ever come back to Chiang Mai I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

The hotel also offers a shuttle service which is great. Check in was amazing and room was lovely on the second day and this is the only reason they do not have 5/5 we had been to a cooking class we got back to the hotel and got stopped by a member of reception and asked to wait in the lobby they said something about a broken plate in the room. We didn’t know what they were talking about wethen had to wait 15 minutes whilst they fetched the plate in which it felt like we were being Interrogated when they bought the saucer it hada tiny chip on it which could have been done by anyone after saying we hadn’t done it and another further 10 minutes they let us go and said it was fine. The trip would have been perfect but this actually ruined it having hassle and being accused of breaking a plate this is not normal behaviour in a western hotel you should keep this in mind as it caused a lot of discomfort and tainted our stay and trip to Chiang Mai.

- Milan (10/5): - Me and my friends, group of 5 visited this hotel and city for the first time on 26th October 2018. Very Conveniently located right outside the old city. Not so far away. Easily accessible, thanks to cheap transportation. We love the Tuk Tuk Van so much. The services are amazing in this hotel. The front desks, the door man and the staffs in the restaurants were very cheerful throughout our stay. Didn't see any staffs that weren't happy with their work. Genuine and pleasant. I would highly recommend those who are looking for a clean, hygienic and comfortable stay in Chiang Mai. For people worried about commute between the bazaar and riverside, I recommend you this place cos Chiang Mai is easy to get around. Great for solo travellers looking to pay a little extra for accommodations, mini business trips and for group of friends. I am definitely coming back to stay in Hydepark Chiangmai again!!
