Guest Reviews
- Sara (10/5): - Wonderful stay with great homecooked breakfast and hospitality. Dont miss this gem!
- Gilbert (10/5): - Breakfast was good ,all kind of light in the parking
- David (10/5): - Breakfast was great, nice scrambled eggs and good selection of yogurt, bananas, coffee, tea, and toast. Great folks to deal with
- Curt (10/5): Friendliest Owners - They made us eggs for an egg sandwich. Muffins, cereal, yogurt and fruit rounded out the offerings. Owners went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed.
- A (10/5): - Les propriétaires sont très gentils, très bel accueil, et la dame avait même cuisiné des muffins maison aux bleuets pour le petit déjeuner (qui est inclus) :))
- Damian (10/5): - A
- Kenneth (10/5): - Very affordable, new clean rooms
- Jacquelene (10/5): - Very friendly. Clean and quiet
- Nancy (8/5): - Owners were very helpful and attentive. Muffins were just out of the oven!
- Dan (8/5): Charming and comfy spot. - Quaint old style motel off a quiet road. Room is a bit dated but very comfortable and with microwave and refridgerator. Coffee alway available in the office. The home made continental breakfast also included incredible eggs made to order, taken on the patio outside.
Owners are very proactive in ensuring everything is okay.
Only real negative about proprty was the amount of construction material and scrap piled near office. Gives a bad impression o otherwise charming spot.
- Alexis (10/5): - Owners were welcoming, helpful and very pleasant. Breakfast was good, homemade muffins were delicious.
- Peter (2/5): - I have no idea how this place was rated so highly. It is an absolute dump.
- Heather (8/5): - The owners are very helpful. Cute property.
Nice breakfast included, eggs freshly made to order.
Room doesn't have hair dryer.
Soap, shampoo and conditioner supplied but bring your own.
Grest value for money spent.
- Tammy (10/5): Wonderful little gem - What a lovely little motel with such wonderful hosts. They were so friendly and gracious. The husband came to my room and walked me through how to turn on the TV and satellite in addition to the phone charging light. In the morning, his wife had made fresh blueberry scones for guests in addition to other breakfast items. Would totally stay again!
- norma (2/5): - I was surprised when I first saw it but our room was really nice & clean .The manager or owner was excellent even made us scrambled eggs for breakfast.we would go there again.
- carroll (8/5): - Decently renovated old fashioned mom&pop motel. Rooms are smaller and bathroom a little tight, but that's expected. Average continental breakfast. Main problem: finding it, especially at night. DON'T use the street address when using Maps, use the name of the motel. And there is no lighted sign with the name, just a lighted entrance sign.
- Susana (10/5): - Owners were lovely
Modest accommodations but renovations are in progress our room had a new bathroom very clean beds were Comfortable and clean new ac/ heating cable fridge and microwave
The owners made our breakfast to order in the morning which we enjoyed on the terrace with a view- bbq available and a fire pit on property
- Nathalie (6/5): - Les photos du site ne sont pas representatives de l’etat general des lieux. Les photos de la chambre sont fidèles et la chambre tres propre et le déjeuner correct.
- Bettina (8/5): - Pleasant stay. Spacious room with modernized bathroom, and the most quiet AC Unit ever - big plus!
The bed/mattress was lacking some comfort (squeaky bedframe, too soft, or worn mattress).
Breakfast with a view and fresh made eggs - great!
Very friendly owner!
- Paul (10/5): - Great staff, clean efficient room w easy access.. Repeat customer...
- Roberta (6/5): - The couple was very nice. There wasn’t a table to eat on, there was a small desk that was ok for one person. I thought there was an eat in area to eat breakfast but you had to carry to room. As I said the people were so nice.
- Nawab (10/5): - Worm welcoming by staff, rooms was very clean. Definitely im recommend it to anyone that want to stay here.
- Maria (10/5): - The owners were amazing and very nice.
- suzanne (8/5): - Great breakfast.
- Christina (6/5): - This is a simple motel and convenient for Sussex. Nice country around it. It has very bad WiFi.
- Sarah (10/5): - I can’t say enough about how lovely and wonderful these owners are. The man walked us to our room, showed us everything and any time we saw him around the properly we were greeted with his big smile. The woman owner made our eggs each morning fresh to order. Got up early to make fresh muffins for their guests and helped me with directions upon arrival to find a restaurant that was open late.
The rooms are very clean and exactly what we were lookin for. There is some clutter by the main building but nothing to deter us from coming again.
- Michael (10/5): - The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom very clean and the AC worked great. The Breakfast was delicious; especially the Blueberry muffing and biscuits. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. parking is very easy, park right at your door; and the restaurant across the street has great food at reasonable prices, and with friendly staff, as well.
It is also near the Pinecone Campground, so if you want to come with a camping crowd, you can stay in luxury, and still hang out with your friends and family.
- Nathan (8/5): - Great budget motel with a convenient distance from local amenities in Sussex. Wifi was pretty dismal so plan accordingly, especially with the lack of cell coverage in the location. The owners are lovely and accommodating. Make sure you try their homemade blueberry muffins. So good!
- Dominica (10/5): - Clean
- Edson (10/5): - Delicious breakfast
- terry (8/5): - nice staff
- Diane (10/5): - Everything was finds
- Lise (10/5): - My husband and I needed a place to stay for the night and I saw that this place had good reviews. I would highly recommend staying here. The owners were extremely sweet and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. We had a nice breakfast on their deck in the morning, complete with eggs made to order.
- Raymond (10/5): Wonderful little hidden cozy jem. - Very attentive owners, fresh towels everyday, good homecook breakfast (freshly made muffin, eggs coffee and donuts).
When checking in, they will come to your room and show you how to work the remotes and things. So nice to meet people that still care.
The motel is definitely not new, but lots of updates are being made. The cleanliness and coziness of the place makes you look at it and appreciate the character of the place.
No carpets, fresh paint, new locks, no stains and no mildew. We also slept with the windows open :).
There is no ice machine available and needed some (last minute surgery before the trip). Came back from our outting and found a little bag with cubes left in the freezer of our room.
It is perfectly located in the middle of most popular sights to see: (1 to 1h30 drive).
Next time coming back to New Brunswick, I will make sure to book this motel again. No need to look anywhere else. It is surrounded by trees and campgrounds. We loved it!
- Samantha (10/5): - I stayed here while attending a event at princess luise park. Room was spotless , staff was verry sweet. Campground was a bit rowdy the first night untill midnight but very quiet the second night. I booked again for another stay see yoy soon !
- Camil (10/5): Great service - The service was excellent and also the breakfast!
- Yvonne (10/5): - A nice, quaint motel. The beds were very comfortable and the fresh baked goods for breakfast were such a nice bonus for both mornings we were there!
- David (10/5): What a wonderful surprise! - What a wonderful surprise!! A quick one nighter on a long road trip...the motel a 1950s-60s era motor court on a once important artery now bypassed by the modern highway.
Visually quaint on the outside....the room modernized and functional on the inside. A wonderful surprise.
But it got better. The breakfast spread was inclusive for the small motel. Home baked muffins and scones. Donuts. Toast. Cereal. Name yogurt. Good quality coffee... excellent quality individual condiments. And eggs cooked to order!
We were gobsmacked by the quality, the quaint but convenient location, and the very reasonable price.
- Linda (10/5): Great place to stay! - The room was very clean. There was a heat pump which was super quiet. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The shower head was non-removable but the water was nice an hot.
Breakfast was included with lots of choices, home made blueberry muffins, cereal, yoghurt, white and brown toast, bananas, tea and coffee. Option to eat it at bistro tables outside or take a tray back to your room.
- Connie (10/5): - The owners are so kind and helpful! Just a real cute place to stay and comfortable!
- Andre (10/5): - Beautiful quiet property, great service
- Jacques (10/5): Home away from home - By far the friendliest hosts ever!
- Samantha (10/5): - Great place.
- Gord (6/5): - First impressions bad, too much junk around property
Update exterior
Room ok and clean
- Jay (10/5): - Welcoming and friendly stff. Safe property.
- Gary (10/5): - Very friendly mom and pop older motel. Nice breakfast.
- Tony (8/5): - Wonderful People
Breakfast offered every morning
It is dated but renovations are on-going
- Marissa (10/5): - We wish we could’ve stayed here longer! We felt safe, welcome, and comfortable. The hosts were so kind and attentive. The room was so cute and cozy. The area is also very peaceful for a relaxing night in. Will absolutely be staying here again!!
- john (10/5): - this is a 1950s style motel that was upgraded at some point I would say within the last 10 years and it has been maintained quite well by the current owners who are on site and actively engaged. And quite friendly. The rooms although dated and somewhat small, do you have a small fridge and microwave and reflect the owners care and attention.
- Jose (8/5): - a bit isolated from services.
- Honey (8/5): - Clean rooma and toiletries, homely breakfast made by the owner herself in the morning. We had a pleasant stay.
- Ariel (10/5): - Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was great.
- Shihab Shahriar (10/5): - Excellent staff, very welcoming. It felt like home. Rooms were in tip top condition.
- Will (8/5): - A nice value and it was clean only a 5-6 minutes from Sussex and its close to ATV trails. The motel is old but being worked on. Good value.
- Umair (10/5): - The owners are really nice and friendly. They go out of the way to make you feel comfortable. Breakfast included is the best thing.
- Heather (10/5): - The owners were lovely and very willing to help out when needed.
- James (10/5): - Extremely polite and caring staff. It really feels like your experience matters to them, which is all you really want… well, that and a clean room!, which it was!
- Pamela (6/5): - Helpful friendly host! Property is very dated with a smell but clean and comfortable.
- Kelly (10/5): Always a wonderful place to stay - We have stayed here multiple times over the past years and the owners do not disappoint!! They are totally courteous, respectful and friendly. We have often been offered our choice of a couple of different cabins when we have arrived. Breakfast is homemade and hearty. Always a pleasure.
- dave (6/5): - Room was clean, small fridge & microwave no hot water in the bathroom sink but lots in the shower. When the people in the next room wete showering. Uou gould vlearly hear them, our toilet bubbled The beds are double & felt unsteady
The place appears to be very old & it lookd like the owners are trying to spruce it up. The owners were friendly & had a light breakfast in the lobby . There were tables outside or uou could take it back to your room.
I likely wouldn't stay again
- Heidi (10/5): - Very friendly.
Continental breakfast was delicious.
- Mao (10/5): - Super friendly and room is pretty clean!
- benoit (8/5): - All good
- June (10/5): - Perfect place to stay!
- Samuel (8/5): - Nice place
- Pamela (8/5): - Good place to stay when on a road trip and need a inexpensive place to stay.
- Tony (10/5): Best place to stay in Sussex area - Excellent place to stay with friends on or annual dirt bike trip. Nice simple clean rooms and the best fresh muffins for breakfast. Owners are very friendly people.
- Lisa (10/5): - Older property but very clean and comfortable. Owner was very nice and accommodating.
- Peter (4/5): - Could definitely be gleaned up very messy not a w egg lol kept property rooms are very dated
- betty (8/5): - clean and comfortable. Hosts were amazing!
- John (8/5): - clean
- Andrew (10/5): - Breakfast served to my door. Eggs, coffee, muffin, etc. Quite remarkable.
- giselle (10/5): - The owner was a very nice gentleman. He made us feel welcome and the room was very clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was available but I just had tea. We would definitely come again.
- Ila (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay. The hosts were so friendly. They did so much to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast they serve is better than any motel I’ve stayed in.If you want to stay in a friendly place where they treat you like a favourite family member this is the place!
- Rhonda (10/5): - The property is an older building but they have been updating so the inside was nice. Didn't expect much if any breakfast but was surprised when the owners made fresh eggs, corn chowder and had fruit and muffins and other items there. They took us to our room and showed us how to use everything and made sure we were all set. While we were there noticed a few people that were repeat customers making a point of staying there. Would stay there again if the same owners. Really nice people.
- Cathleen (10/5): - The owners are w wonderful hosts
- Pierre (4/5): - The rooms were not clean. But the bed was very comfortable and clean. Not bad if someone wants to stay one night….the owners are super nice. I wont stay there again.
- John (10/5): Mountain Cabin Feel - Super friendly, service-oriented owners. This motel was charming in an old-fashioned way. We enjoyed our stay.
- Mark (8/5): - The property is very dated. However, they are making updates; e.g. new since last year keyless locks. The place is very clean, the owners are terrific and friendly, the bed is comfortable, the towels are nice and thick, good breakfast..lots of positives. However, the noise like settleling in, travels between rooms, and room is very dated. I just need a place to stay when traveling long distances. It isn't luxurious, but it is clean, safe very pleasant, and a good value. I would come back, and I have.
- Scott (10/5): Highly recommended! - Really helpful, friendly proprietor. Well equipped room; everything worked great. Nice breakfast was a bonus - eggs, yogurt, juice, toast, fruit, good coffee 😋.
- Imran (10/5): - Excellent motel, wonderful hosts!
- john (10/5): - Verry good for the price.
- Catherine (10/5): - Nice setting in the trees off the highway.
Clean room and attentive hosts.
Lovely breakfast offered with eggs and home baking.
- Laura (8/5): - Room clean but property could be cleaned up
- Christine (8/5): - The owners where very accommodating and pleasant. The room was okay and recently updated. Good proximity to Fundy National Park.
- Ardith (8/5): - Our stay was marred by the fact that NB Power had a power outage scheduled for the area for the day after check-in. This meant no power or water after 7AM which was inconvenient but totally out o the control of the owners. The owners were a lovely couple and did anything they could to make our stay better. In the morning they had muffins and scones along with coffee for their guests. The motel is older and the furniture dated but clean. The heat pump in our room was a bit loud . Thankfully it wasn't' too warm so we just turned it off.
- Anne (8/5): - I love the remote location, but the campground behind the motel can be loud with parties and the road is busy so there's traffic noise. But overall, the noise wasn't very bothersome. The room was a bit dated and the air system was noisy. All this said, I really had a nice visit. It was close enough to town for any amenities and I was able to focus on my work. The people who run the motel are lovely and very nice. I will absolutely stay again when I next need a place for my personal retreat.
- Lacey (10/5): - Love this place, it’s very quaint and nostalgic. We plan to come back and stay in the future.
- Ralph (8/5): - Old and looks it. Nice breakfast
- Karen (8/5): - A very sixties style motel located next to a very busy road with heavy truck traffic starting early in the morning. Unfortunately our room was located very close to the road, others are further away. Also unfortunate is the fact that though the rooms have been refurbished, the outside needs some TLC. Rooms are clean and the owners very accommodating. Breakfast is continental style, served in the office with tables outside. Not sure what you do when it rains. Would I stay here again? Maybe but only if we could get a room away from the highway.
- Laura (10/5): Great place to stay near Saint John, NB. - The hosts at the Pine Cone Inn are SUPER KIND and helpful. Our room was simple, but very comfortable and very clean, with excellent air conditioning. The location, in a very green, semi-rural area makes for a peaceful stop. Hosts go the extra mile to make sure their guests are comfortable, and made sure we were informed of the key “must see” attractions nearby.
Warmly recommended.
- Joel (10/5): Great stay. - Great little spot. Super basic but very cute. We're visiting friends at the camp next door. Will stay again.
- Robert (6/5): - Noisy main road
- ANDREW (6/5): - Rustic motel
- Lauren (10/5): - A basic motel with everything you need. Clean, comfortable and a breakfast is provided. What makes this place exceptional is the couple that run it. They are so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.
- Amanda (10/5): - Very enjoyable Stay! I would highly recommend, great atmosphere and staff were amazing.
- Helen (10/5): - Service was excellent. Bed was too soft.
- Irina (10/5): - We stayed for one night. The room was very nice, quiet, comfortable and clean. In the morning a breakfast is served, very tasty with homemade so delicious biscuits. Really liked the place!
- Cue (10/5): - Very well maintained property. Friendly hosts.
- Richard (8/5): - No air conditioning in the motel rooms. That could be a problem on a real hot summers night. Otherwise the staff was exceptionally friendly and very helpful. Absolutely gorgeous scenery!
