Guest Reviews
- Wray (5/5): - Bed wasn’t very comfortable otherwise it was as I expected for the price Bed
- Gary (7/5): - Ease of location Very worn down
- ian (6/5): - Great staff great area with lovely pubs and views, dog loved it Bit tired but good value
- David (7/5): Ok for one night stopover, wouldn’t choose for longer - Convenient location TV signal was awful making unwatchable, basic need nowadays
- Melana (9/5): Everything I needed really as the Costa was a stone’s throw away - Clean and comfortable I couldn’t see a bottle opener, and I would have had to ask for more drinks
- Raymond (3/5): Hotel needs money spent on it - The staff very friendly The hotel needs upgrading plus the hotel room 11 floor is uneven
- SpinDanny (10/5): Ideal for a value bed for the night. - If you need somewhere to stay for a night or two this place does exactly what it says on the tin. A clean room, with a decent bed, bathroom and shower, plus tea and coffee and free WiFi which is all you need and should expect with such a reasonable room rate. Also plenty of parking.
- Claire (5/5): You get what you pay for - It was very basic and could do with a major upgrade as everything was very dated (actual key to unlock the door!) but it was functional and clean.
I was only there to sleep and it was quiet, so it did it's job. My radiator looked like it had a blood splatter on it. On closer inspection it was rust....not a good look when you first walk in.
Bedside Light didn't work properly....flickered too much to be of use.
Only 2 available plug sockets and nowhere near the bed.
- Susan (8/5): A good hotel in a motorway services - This bedroom was a good size on the ground floor, The desk was long and the internet signal strength strong. Ideal for work or studying. The bed was kingsize and comfortable.
The hotel was surrounded by grass with wooden picnic tables and chairs, Ideally for sunny weather
The bathroom really did have a bath. Nothing
- Sue (9/5): -
- Rob (7/5): OK, but bad shower experience - Have stayed there previously because it was convenient for work. I stayed in room 103 and somehow the shower was set to extremely hot and I was unable to adjust to a reasonable temperature, leading to a dash and splash effect shower, not what I expected, wanted or needed.
The rest of the room and stay was great, but the shower ruined it for me.

- Christopher (8/5): Helpful staff and everything was fine - The location suited me well

Rooms were full of broken light bathpanel dirty door had punch dent in it lock was broken flooring old ripped or damaged very visible in all rooms dirty walls doors pretty awful bed was ok sheets were clean but unpleasant and no way up to any standard for paying 97 a night for two rooms extra bed was virtually on the floor also it was in all pretty substandard they offer a 10 quid voucher for food for 7.50 and snacks are so expensive goodness knows where the money goes because it isnt used to fix the rooms !!!!
- Carla (7/5): Perfect For Wildlife Lovers - The receptionist was fantastic and we loved the garden surrounding the building. Staff have made a lot of effort to accommodate the local wildlife and it was very heartwarming to see. We spotted a rare bird in the trees outside our bedroom window. Not what you expect when you stay in a service station hotel but we were thrilled. The broken bathroom door, the musty smell in the room and the dust in the room (my husband has an allergy to dust mites and needed to take a lot of antihistamines while staying here)
- Amanda (10/5): - Everything
- Eve (10/5): Excellent roadside stay. - Big room. Marvellous bed. Bathtub. Very pleasant receptionist who actually was on the premises
Services location with a view to green and woods.

- Hazel (7/5): Clean and quiet good value - Although the establishment was tired it was very clean and our room was close to the reception area room 25 we thought it might be noisy but everyone was quiet.
- Sabrina (8/5): Perfect for well needed rest - Easy to find. Quiet location and good parking.
Staff were friendly. Sheets clean. Room in good condition.
Lots of wildlife the next morning - was a lovely setting despite being by a busy A road. Room smelt damp.
- Raymond (6/5): -
- wilkins (5/5): - Cheap and cheerful Constantly disturb by corridor traffic

- Harriet (1/5): Faeces on the carpet - Comfortable beds Dear Manager,
I am writing to formally complain about the cleanliness and hygiene standards of our room during our stay on Friday 17th, when we stayed as a family of two adults and two children.
On the Friday evening, we moved the floor bed closer to the sofa bed to better accommodate our children. Due to the lighting at the time, nothing was noticed. However, on the Saturday morning, we discovered a piece of faeces underneath the bed, approximately the size of a Malteser. It appeared old and very dry, clearly having been left there prior to our arrival.
As there was no manager available at the time, I reported this immediately to the housekeeper on duty. She attended the room, examined the issue, and opened the nappy sack I had used to remove it. She was very apologetic and provided me with this email address to escalate the matter further.
This situation is wholly unacceptable, particularly in a room prepared for a family. The location and condition of what we found strongly suggests the room had not been properly cleaned or checked before our arrival. For hygiene reasons, I had no choice but to remove it myself.
This significantly impacted our stay and left us feeling uncomfortable about the overall cleanliness of the room.
Given the seriousness of this issue, I am requesting a full refund for our stay. I would also expect this matter to be investigated thoroughly to ensure it does not happen to other guests.
I have photographic evidence available and can provide this if required.
I look forward to your prompt response.
Kind regards,
Harriet Anthony
- Christianne (7/5): Overall happy and reasonably priced - Great location and quiet In poor dated condition
- Gabriela (10/5): - I had two rooms booked for one night. The staff at reception was very nice, polite, explained everything to us, the rooms were very clean, easily accessible.
- Michael A (7/5): - Good value easy booking
- Raymond (6/5): - Phone reception and tv
- Chel (7/5): -
- Prasad (6/5): - Location There is no plug point to use laptop near the bed or long enough from the table to use, and the facility felt very old. Upon entering, I felt like I was entering a GP centre.
- Geoff (9/5): - Excellent value for money
- Ralph (10/5): - Very clean staff very friendly perfect location
- Elizabeth (1/5): - Location was convenient The room smelt of mould. Toilet was leaking. Bathroom door didn’t shut properly.
- Rick (5/5): -
- Edward (10/5): A restful stay - Great location to places of interest and the major coastal areas.
Quiet location
- Oliver (7/5): - Easy check in, big room, comfy bed. Clean. No plugs by bed. Felt a bit warm and although fan in the room, would be plugged in quite a distance away. Door didnt seem to lock properly either
- Dino (7/5): -
- Valemei (8/5): - Location N/A
- saheed (1/5): Never again - Nothing The room provided was in unacceptable condition:
Light not working
Mattress without bedsheet and visibly dirty
After raising this, I was moved to another room which had a broken door handle, making it unsafe.
Despite showing photo and video evidence, no suitable room was provided, and I was informed a refund was not possible.
This situation is unacceptable, particularly as I am travelling with my wife and children.
- Moncy (7/5): -
- Sunil (7/5): Affordable and accessible - Easy access, McDonald’s and costa in front which is useful while traveling with kids. Staff at check in time was really helpful and pleasant. Cleanliness but reasonable for that price

- Onik (10/5): -
- Dave E (7/5): Days Inn overnight stay. - Extremely good price for a one night stay during a very long journey home.
Very comfortable bed and all the basic needs for one night. Now very dated decor and the wooden window frames are starting to fall apart giving an uncared for look to the exterior of the property.
The toilet bowl in the bathroom was a bit dirty and it wasn't possible to get the water hot enough for a bath although the shower temperature was adequate. Generally the bathroom needed a complete refurbishment.
- Amber (8/5): All good! - It was a good location, next to a McDonald's. It was not far away from other towns. Comfortable beds, good working TV, free WIFI and kind staff. Really nothing to complain about! It wasn't the most clean. It wasn't extremely dirty either. But there was some mold in the bathroom. A fridge would've been nice too. But you get what you pay for!

- Jagjit (9/5): Excellent value for money for an overnight stay. - No problems with the Days Inn. The price was very good value for money and the room was excellent. Sadly there was overnight road repairs on the junction leading to the Days Inn which led to a detour of about 20 minutes.

- Steve (8/5): Great value - Very friendly staff
- Anthony (8/5): Good value place to stay - The room appeared newly refurbished and was very clean. Good sized Samsung television. Warm and the radiator didn't automatically switch off overnight as it does in some other hotels. Very good value for the night, including free parking. Only two 13A sockets and not one near the bed. The shower didn't provide very warm water in the evening, but was warmer in the morning.
