Guest Reviews
- Alan (10/5): Brilliant - Everything Nothing
- NANCY (10/5): -
- Steven (10/5): -
- Anita (10/5): Gorgeous rooms and mint location, just a few minutes walk into town. - Exceptional, clean rooms. Lovely stay. Nothing - gorgeous rooms and great location.
- Marina (9/5): Deluxe King Room - Excellent location. Bus stop is literally in front of the house. Shops and restaurants are only a couple of minutes away by walk. There was a brochure in the room with useful recommendations of local restaurants and activities.
I loved the view as well. Late check-in time.
The fridge in the room is quite loud, it makes a strange noise.
People mentioned the cracking floor in the reviews. I could hear people walking in the room above me sometimes, but it didn't bothered me.
- Gwenfair (10/5): -
- Emily (6/5): It was ok because it was cheap and we didn’t spend much time in it, but we wouldn’t stay again. - Fantastic location, just a short stroll to Ambleside town Very dated and unclean. The stairs leading up to the rooms very engrained in dirt and the shower mouldy with black dirty grout.
- Rajaratnam (8/5): - Parking was a problem
- Tom (9/5): -
- Wing Yan (10/5): -
- Butcher (8/5): -
- Frances (5/5): A pleasant stay - Location Damp smell on entry
Cramped toilet
Lack of headspace
- antony (8/5): Been before & would stop again. - Know the area well just a short walk to bars, restaurants & shops, great room, clean, tidy & modern. Parking very limited & the car park across the rd was full so had to find parking elsewhere
- Crouchy7 (6/5): Mutton dressed as lamb!! - Location was good with a short walk to the town. The soundproofing requires improvement. During our initial night, we were subjected to television noise and late-night conversations until 2 AM, in addition to audible intimate moments from the occupants above.
It is worth noting that the owner has made soundproofing enhancements available on the table in the staircase!!
- michael (8/5): Great place to stay and value for money - this is our second visit and stayed in room 35 ,great place, great location, will be back pillows to soft but that's a personal preference
- Joanne (9/5): - Central location. Clean rooms
- Colley (9/5): A cosy little getaway for those wanting to explore ambleside - Love the fridge being there, nice spacious bathroom, comfy bed Tiny window so no view
- Paul (6/5): -
- Christine (7/5): Comfortable stay, good location - Good location
- Juliet (10/5): -
- Rebecca (8/5): - Good location, only a short walk into Ambleside centre The room was very warm but a fan was provided. Some areas of maintenance needed in the room

- Emma (8/5): Fab 1 night with friends in celebration of us all turning 50! - A fab booking for a 1 night stay. Excellent location and very clean. We would stay again. The property was as described.
- Adams (9/5): - Location it was clean comfortable quiet The low ceiling in the bathroom as I’m tall
- brian (8/5): Good - What we expected Shower was not working properly
- Hudson (10/5): - Seamless check-in, professional service, and a very high standard of cleanliness. Everything in the room was in perfect order!
- Hannah (10/5): - Amazing location. 5 minute walk from the town centre. Really helpful information pack in the room with recommendations of things to do and places to eat.
- Sharon (10/5): Excellent - Always lovely and clean well maintained Nothing
- Samantha (9/5): Fantastic location for exploring Ambleside. - Quirky accommodation and spotlessly clean. The rooms aren’t very soundproof.
- Phillip (8/5): Lovely stay at the Log House - The view from the room was amazing, bed was comfortable and the rainfall shower was brilliant. There was a slight musty smell in the corridors and room and the seal around the shower needs replacing and one of the Led lights didn't work but just minor gripes.
- Pam (9/5): Went for a two night break away with my sister and we would definitely return , weather was amazing which was a bonus an - Great value for money , clean and comfortable . Easy access to Ambleside . Parking nearby .
Stylish room with massive bed and good bathroom .
Room only but not a problem as plenty of eateries close by It was on the main road but not affected by traffic noise
- Cally (8/5): Quaint and comfortable stay in a lovely location - Very modern and comfortable inside. Spacious bed which was comfy. Blinds and curtains are almost black out so room was nice and dark through the night. Just a short walk into the centre so ideal location if you aren’t wanting to be right in the middle of it all. Information guide provided for activities/ places to eat. Parking- understand not much can be done but parking in the car park opposite was a bit of a pain in terms of how expensive it was and also having to set alarm for an earlier get up to go and extend parking. The road between the two is quite busy so difficult to cross at times. There was a parking disk available but believe this is for a 1 hour stay according to signs.
- Isabelle (10/5): -
- Mandy (9/5): Perfect location and a bed you won’t want get out of! - Great location with town centre and parking literally a few steps away. Very clear and easy to follow guide to refer to during stay. No fuss check in and check out process.
Helpful and reliable host 👍
Room was a welcoming cosy temperature on arrival.
Last but by no means least, the bed! It was wonderful and probably the comfiest I’ve ever slept in. Nothing but if I had to be picky a few more tea bags (regular tea) and perhaps a couple of bottles of water. By no means a deal breaker, just a suggestion.
- andrew (6/5): - Good location, comfy bed Bathroom was extremely small
- Max (8/5): -
- Adrian (9/5): Ideal stay - crisp clean rooms - location perfect 👌 - Location to town is perfect. Also the other direction to Waterhead front, which is the top of Windermere lake. Lovely views. So simple to check in without seeing anyone, but communication great 👍 N/A
- Linda (10/5): -
- Sophie (9/5): Comfortable & would return - Nicely presented and clean, everything that was needed was present in the property. Comfy bed, good location and lovely view.
- Sam t 1988 (5/5): Nice - Over all photos looked a lot better. Old rug on floor just totally didn't match the room decor. Says mountain view but was more a view of a patch of grass. Expected room to be bigger also. Pillows deflate quickly as they are full of air really. Bedding looked unironed. To have a bath or shower door needed to be closed or fire alarm could go off. Not much ventilation in bathroom. Tiles were marked but clean overall was good. Was expecting more of a view. We got bottom floor so wasn't the best
- Alexandra (10/5): -
- Paul Wallace (8/5): - Great place next to town
- Beth (10/5): -
- Rachel (8/5): - Parking on the road, free 6pm til 10am, or extended by disc was really useful. Short walk into Ambleside. Comfy room with good facilities.
- Ady (10/5): Great value for money, room was very clean . - Great location , spacious room . N/A
- Greenough (10/5): - We had a brilliant stay even though the weather was bad.Brilliant location a very comfy warm room and the bath was just what we needed after a good walk. We would definitely stay again. Nothing
- Rachael (9/5): Lovely stay, nice to relax child free! - Close to town centre. Clean, comfy beds, good communication from owner. Loved the glittery silicone around the shower, and silvery tiles! Although we were aware at booking of the fact it was an old building and noise travels, we were woken by another guest leaving early morning. Our room was closest to the main door. I know this can’t be helped however, still frustating though.
- Rachael (10/5): - I loved everything about it.
- Katie Lumsden (10/5): - Always a great stay at the Log House - the bed is so comfortable and clean, the shower was hot and the staff are always so helpful. I had left an item the last time I stayed and Peter made sure it was waiting for me in my room when I checked in this time - excellent customer service!
- Jonathan (9/5): A fantastic place to stay! - A 5 minute walk from the centre of Ambleside. Easy check in, the room was spotlessly clean and very well furnished. Free parking outside Squeaky floorboards to the room above meant that you could hear those above walking around
- Jacqueline (8/5): Lovely Place to Stay - The Log House was very easy to find, and everything matched the description perfectly. I was also able to extend our checkout time for a small fee without any problems. Communication was smooth and easy throughout. Would have been nice to have a room with a view but otherwise it was perfect for our needs.
- Victoria (9/5): -
- Stephen (7/5): Great location and value for money, not a great room. - Location Small, smell in lobby, wet room
- Emma (10/5): -
- Jennie (6/5): Well priced property in a good location but dont expect luxury - The location was good, on the edge of Ambleside so it was priced reasonably. It was easy to find and parking was just over the road. We found the room we were in was very warm (a bit too warm) and we only had a small window. A fan was provided however so we used that. The bathroom facilities need some attention- the towel rail was falling off the wall and the toiletries provided in the shower weren’t very good. Scratches and marks (not dirt I should add) in the sink and the bath. We received a phone call from the owner shortly after midnight which puzzled us, we were both asleep so it didn’t disturb us but we did find it odd.
- Emma (9/5): -
- paul (9/5): -
- Sara (9/5): -
- Sophie (10/5): -
- Karen (9/5): Very pleasant and comfortable place, would definitely stay again. - Comfort and location. Easy check in. Safe area Bring a small torch for pavements for the short walk and stretch of Lake Road into town as the street lights were switched off far too early for the time of year (before 9pm in March) not the accommodations fault but something to consider.
- clough (8/5): Log house - The bed very comfy. Good view out of window. Room was smaller than the picture
- james (10/5): Very nice location ideal for a walk to the town -
- alex (9/5): - Location
Price Very thin walls so not much sleep
- Donna (9/5): - The room was lovely and there was a little fridge which was really good
- Craig (10/5): Amazing stay with great views of the fells - Love this place. Amazing room with excellent views. Nothing
- T (7/5): Would definitely return even tho some negative points - Great location
Lovely modern design
Comfy bed Very thin walls, could hear snoring from next door & room above could here everything 🫣 Room was very small, deceiving photos
Parking a bit problematic, car parking was full everywhere
- Jessica (8/5): Good but needs more attention to detail. - The close proximity to the town center. Clean, easy contact free check in/check out. Excellent communication. View of the mountains from our room. Nice extras such as vanity mirror, ear plugs and hot drink varieties. Bed was extremely comfortable and plenty of pillows and blanket provided. Information leaflets on local attractions available. Parking disc's available upon entry. Think there's an issue with wiring, took us a while to figure out the switches as one switch simultaneously turns one light off and another on. Felt the bathroom could have been smaller and the bedroom bigger, awkward sloped ceelings not practical for taller people, little to no storage space available. Have to wait a long while for cold, clear water from the taps. Parking situation isn't great. Fridge seems to bulky and not in a practical place. Bathroom door doesn't open fully due to the bed placement. Hall way smells fusty which has tried to be disguised with numerous reed diffusers. Hard floor would be more suitable for communal areas to avoid the smell. Issues with main entry door not closing/locking properly compromising security.
- Gary (9/5): Great 2 night stay in a great location and comfy room - Great location room was clean and we was told the room was ready before check in time which was a bonus as we arrived early No complaints at all
- Mark (8/5): -
- Joshua (10/5): - Pristine cleanliness. Great location. Informative and friendly host with great communication.
- Rachel (10/5): -
- Lisa (9/5): -
- Frances (6/5): -
- Laura (7/5): - Comfortable beds, easy each to bars and restaurants, large tv, amble plug sockets, mini fridge for drinks etc. Shower would not change temperature - could not turn the temperature up. Quite a lot of dust on top of fridge, bed frame and desk area, curtain hanging off at the side due to broke hook.
- Tia (10/5): I had the best weekend I love coming to Ambleside it’s a really nice stay - I have stayed here before a couple years ago - the room was amazing so clean and everything that you would need the bed was so comfy Nothing I didn’t like at all
- Paul (8/5): - It didnt have a breakfast, the room was really nice and clean. I didnt see any staff to be fair, , it was a beautiful stay, beautiful location 💯 the people that were above us came back obnoxiously loud at 1am, we had to say something out of the window it was so loud they woke us up. And then they were banging around in the room above us. With no consideration for any other guests. Apart from that, a nice stay 💯
- Andrew (10/5): It was an amazing but short stay we would love to stay again however I think the prices should be slightly lower - Very comfortable and just overall amazing Nothing
- Ashley (10/5): -
- Katie Lumsden (9/5): Brilliant stay at the Log House - would highly recommend! - I have stayed here a number of times for work and the rooms are always clean, comfortable and completely fulfill my needs for an overnight stay. The staff are so helpful if there are any issues and are prompt at getting back to you in any instance. Big comfortable beds, smart TV with additional apps and the shower is always hot. What more could you need!
- Heather (8/5): Great stay, would stay again. - Lovely location and view. The rooms were clean and tidy. Only small but we were left with a tiny bit of toilet roll so had to buy some as there were none spare and couldnt work the bath. Im sure its very simple but we really couldn't work it out. Would be good to have some instructions for this.
- Hayley (10/5): Fantastic location for Ambleside exploring - Convenient location
Comfortable Couldn’t fault
- Lucy (9/5): Worth the money and definitely would stay again! - Great location! Rooms was lovely and clean with great facilities, had trouble with parking but phoned the number provided and the staff were efficient and helpful the situation was sorted straight away! Would definitely stay again 100%! The walls are thin, however wasn’t much of a problem for ourselves!
- Lee (9/5): Excellent location. Great communication. -
- Emma (10/5): Ama - The room was clean and comfortable and had everything you need
- Patrick (8/5): Stylish but small - Good location, near town centre. Car park across the road. Stylish decor. Room is smaller than it looks in the photos. Head height is low. Just about ok to fit one person but would be a struggle for 2 to spend any substantial vertical time there. I was only stating one night. Expensive for what it consisted of.
- James (8/5): -
- alex (9/5): - Location
Was very clean A little noisy , walls very thin. Could hear the room Nextdoor un zipping a bag and the room above using the bathroom
- Diane (7/5): - Very modern. Bed enormous and comfortable. Owner very helpful. Late checkout (11) and room was ready early. Room small. Pictures and description gave the impression it would be much bigger.
- Hannah (10/5): -
- Jane (9/5): Excellent value in a superb location - Excellent accommodation in the centre of town
Easy check in Nothing
