- Peter (6/5): - Super close to train station. A very basic hotel (if you booked a private bathroom, a shared bath will have nothing besides the bed), anything extra (towel etc) has to pay. A hair dryer requires a deposit. Do your own bed after checked in. Put bedding into the laundry basket out the elevator when check out. No services. If booked more than one day, only thing did is clean your garbage.

- Hon Chong (10/5): - + Great location. Extremely quiet with windows closed. Friendly receptionist. Allowed us to store luggage in a locked room before check-in. – Room was a bit hot in June, and the hostel did not provide desk fans. Flies were present at the buffet and dining area.
- Anthony (8/5): - Not bad for a youth hostel. The room was large and had a nice outlook and even a balcony. Breakfast was reasonable. Interlaken is a very expensive town so if you don't want to pay the ridiculous hotel prices the youth hostel is fine for a short stay.

- Edwina (8/5): - We stayed in private bedroom with balcony. Wonderful floor to ceiling window with great views of Harder Kulm funicular, river and cows. We can hear the charming faint rings of the cow bells day and night. The trains run by regularly so you will hear it with the balcony door ajar. However excellent soundproofing if you want to close the door. Good size balcony but spider webs everywhere. The walls could really use a fresh coat of paint, especially the wall next to the head of the bed. No hairdryer provided but can be rented from front desk with a refundable 20CFH deposit. The bathroom not very bright and fluorescent tube above mirror had an annoying flicker. Good sensible layout. Free breakfast was plentiful and had all the basic breads, muesli, cold cuts , cheese, juices and coffee. Huge bonus is it’s only steps away from Interlaken OST the main train station. A big Coop supermarket is across the street. We would definitely stay again.

- Ka Wai (8/5): - Location is perfect. Just 2 minutes to train station. Hotel has a restaurant providing nice food with reasonable price. They have a water tap on ground floor to refill drinking water.
- Yutaro (8/5): - Clean and friendly place. Room for four is comfortable with a secure locker. Only negative point is the power socket by the bed is very loose and phone chargers easily fall off. But good value for money other than that. Location is amazing.

- Michael (4/5): A Disappointing Christmas 2024 - It was not appropriate to put me a 55 year old Male in a room with three teenage females. They did not like being with an older male in the room. Just not appropriate. I feel that guests of Youth Hostel Interlaken are very easily pleased because this Hostel is old, dated, not 100% clean. Shower areas unclean. Dirty clothes left in the passage. Lack of staff. Reception and Bar area, left unattended at night, you can steal whatever you want. Didn't think the building was very safe. Water pressure of showers is too low and no shower gel provided.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Close to train station - Close to the train station which was very convenient because it was our base for travels within the Jungfrau region. Breakfast was included but it was the same menu every day. Food at the restaurant was fresh as it was made to order infront of you. I reserved a double room for two people for 4 nights. Room was soacious however it was very basic. No hair dryer. You have to pay for towels aside from what they provided on check in. No face towels or hand towels. For the room price, i think it should be provided for free. No housekeeping, you have to take off your comforter and pillow case at check out. The room curtain and bathroom curtain was so sheer and does not provide privacy.

I'd braced myself for a tired, grimy hostel, expecting pesky cockroaches and snappy staff after skimming some reviews. But voila! I was met with a delightful twist – a heartwarming experience complemented by a team of super welcoming and friendly folks. Those lockers in the room? A sweet bonus for security, ensuring your valuables are snug while you saunter through the enchanting streets of Interlaken. Dreaming of plush red carpets, sparkling chandeliers, and a butler at your beck and call? Time for a reality check on hostels! But if it's a fuss-free, solid base you seek as you embark on your day's adventure, this spot's a total gem! If you would prefer that Butler. The Chalet Margaux Penthouse might offer one at CHF 3677.
- Sarah (6/5): - Hostel was ok (not great not terrible) as it could use some updates such as the beds and linens. Plugs by beds don’t work well as they hang upside down. It would be helpful to have a toilet/ sink within the shower rooms. Room was very warm at night especially on the top bunk. Breakfast was fairly good and location is good. Staff were friendly.

- Kenneth (10/5): - Excellent service, cleanliness, space and quality of room as good as it gets. One minor complaint; the pillows are lumpy and uncomfortable. Another minor complaint; it was hot outside, the rooms do not have ac, which is fine, I know the hostel is environmentally conscious which is one reason why we stayed there, but I think the rooms should have a fan to move air in the room. It was uncomfortable all night. The night before Interlaken we stayed in Lucern with no ac, even hotter at night but the fan in the room made all the difference. The breakfast is great, we had dinner there twice with excellent food quality at good prices, especially for Switzerland!
- Carlito (8/5): Family holiday - Stayed for a night on Aug 22,2023 to end our 10-Day fam hols before heading home. Booked on a Qaud Room with 2 bunk beds, shared T&B, with free breakfast. Centrally located just beside the main train station. The room is just warm on summer days thus we left the window opened through-out the night to get fresh air. Has to pay extra for the towel at €3/each, lines are provided. Warm reception - a bonus.

- John Aron (8/5): - Hostel was very good for a hostel. Located next to the train station made it very convenient to commute. There is a restaurant although the hostel is lacking a common area with a communal fridge & kitchen area. This may be intentional to drive more business to the restaurant.
- KA FU (8/5): Good Location only, nothing else! - The hotel is located next to the train station. Our balcony room facing the train station so that very noisy even in the midnight. Inside the room, there were no window , no TV, no Aircon and we had to open the balcony door to sleep in order to get fresh air. No housekeeping & cleaning services provided during our 2 nights stay. Breakfast was normal especially no scrambled eggs. One thing we would like to point out- On one day we use one of the glass door at the back of the building to enter the hotel after sightseeing (Where we didn’t know it was a path through the kitchen because there was no signage stated it is “No entry”) . At that time , a man from the kitchen scold us in a very impolite manner although we apologized and mentioned that there should be a warning signage on the glass door. We highly unhappy that such a behavior was happened in a hotel ! ( We found that there was a “No Entry Sign” on the glass door next day). Not worth for the room rate we paid!

- Peter (10/5): - We stayed 5 nights and used this as a central base while visiting the area. From here we saw Bern, Jungfraujoch, Grindelwald, Harder Kulm, and Lake Brienz. We booked an entire room with two bunkbeds, so we had it completely to ourselves (myself, wife and daughter) with a private shower and toilet, even though youth hostels generally are shared spaces. Breakfast was included and there's option for paying for other meals. The food was decent and not that expensive. There was also a COOP supermarket right down the block as well as many restaurants. The good thing about this Youth Hostel is its location. It is literally right next door (a one min walk) to the Interlaken Ost train station, which allowed us to roll out of bed, eat quickly and then board a train to our planned destination. On return we walked right off the train and then upstairs again. The room itself was no frills and resembled a sleep away camp dormitory but was fully serviceable. Each bed space had its own outlet for recharging phones, and a small bedlamp. Breakfast served starting at 0630 but many times I showed up earlier and they just allowed me to start taking food. And they have good coffee machines at the press of a button. I would gladly stay there again.

- Woon Chooi (10/5): Clean and conveniently located near train station - This is one of the closest hotel to the Interlaken OST station and ferry terminal. There are eating places nearby and also a Coop supermarket. It is only a 5 to 10 minute walk to the shopping street where you can book paragliding or other activitiea. You have to make tour own bed, and strip the bedsheets after your night’s stay. The bed is comfortable. The restaurant also serves reasonably priced meals. Bus stop is right outside the hotel. You get a Guest pass which allows you to ride free around the region,

- Tetsuya (10/5): Top notch hostel with overall high scores - This place is great. It’s a hostel but very very good considering the location, convenience, cleanliness, breakfast, and good services. It’s located 3 min from Interlaken ost station which is about 30 min to Lauterbrunnen and 40 min to Grindelwald. The room price include pretty good basic breakfast buffet and you can get dinner from 12.50. Coop is within 3 min walk as well. I highly recommend this place.
