Guest Reviews
- Ritaravenwolf (6/5): Pretty Riad, Mixed Experience - We’re a lesbian couple and overall we reasonably felt safe during our stay, which was really important to us. Although we were never affectionate in public. The first woman who checked us in was quite offish though and it was clear she wasn’t thrilled about giving us a double room. That didn’t set the nicest tone. She also made no attempt to give change for the city tax, which came across as rude and unnecessary.
We stayed on the ground floor. The room itself was clean, tidy and beautifully decorated, but incredibly noisy. It honestly felt like people were walking through the room with us. There was no window either, so the noise and lack of fresh air were a bit overwhelming. You also don’t get a key to the main door, so you have to ring the bell to be let in. Because of that we heard every single person coming and going throughout the night.
The shower jumped between boiling hot and freezing cold, although it still did the job. There was a handy hairdryer, the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well.
Breakfast was lovely, and the coffee kept flowing which we really appreciated. The male waiter was genuinely lovely, polite and always smiling. The riad mainly speaks French and Arabic, like most of Morocco, but they spoke enough English for us to get by.
One thing to note: don’t be fooled by the pictures. There isn’t a swimming pool, it’s just the open space in the middle of the riad with plastic over it.
Overall, there were some good points, but also quite a few things that made the stay less comfortable than we hoped.
- MainStreet2020 (10/5): Awesome location to experience Marrakech - Excellent location to visit the sites and markets, close to great food, but also back far enough to not be loud and hectic. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Make sure to experience all the street food, not the touristy places, the best flavours in Morocco can be found here!
All up, a wonderful experience.
- Amila (6/5): - Available for a last minute one night booking. Great location and friendly staff. Close to all attractions
- Alison (10/5): Very Much Recommended - The stay here was wonderful. The Riad was well presented, clean, the rooms comfortable. The staff reallyade the stay special. I was there for a sporting event and they provided breakfast early for me and really made the stay special.
- tamarahZ5311UB (10/5): Simply the best - Our stay at Arabian Riad was excellent, starting from the comfortable, quiet, clean rooms and wonderful rooftop, beautiful decor, peaceful atmosphere of a riad should be. Above all the staff was incredible, Mohammed and Khadija absolutely fantastic and professional. They gave their heart to fullfill each of our requests. The tea they make here is the best in Marrakech. Plus the location is perfect, close to all atractions. I would recommend this place to everybody
- Diane (10/5): - Thank you very much to Mohamed and all the staff at Arabian Riad for their warm and welcoming hospitality. The riad was a beautiful building to stay in within the enchanting kasbah and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A generous breakfast was offered very morning on the glorious rooftop. We felt looked after whilst we were there and would love to return again one day.
Buena estancia Recomendado
- Zhanna (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff.
- apostu (10/5): - Everything was as expected.
- Sanna (10/5): - Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Beautiful riad in a part of town, that has easy access everywhere. Safe, quiet and cozy.
- Sulafa (10/5): Nice staying - I had 8 days family trip to Marrakesh and stayed in Arabian Riad hotel.. I really enjoyed the generous and respect from staff especially Khadija and Mohammed .. the housekeeping and breakfast are perfect no complain at all.. i recommend this hotel to family and friends 😍😍
- Travellerz90 (2/5): Avoid if you value sleep/have an early flight - This could've been great and ended in disaster. Rude guests with no self awareness or respect for anyone else and hotel staff that have full conversations at midnight with guests. This IS A HOUSE, not a hotel. An echoey house at that. When we arrived the first colleague told us after 10pm we should be respectful of other guests and since we arrived after 10pm we whispered while checking in, this was no issue for us and we were relieved this was advised by the hotel as we enjoy the quiet ourselves. Well he left, and the new colleague didn't seem to follow these same respectful rules. Our last night we went to bed at 9, with an alarm set for 02:30Am for a flight at 5. We had ZERO sleep, as first we were kept up by screaming children apparently brought back to the hotel at 11pm running around the room shouting, followed by loud Spanish guests at midnight having a full conversation which I actually came out and told them to be quiet. Then at 1am a group of Chinese girls showed up, having again a full conversation in the echoey lounge which you could even hear from the roof terrace! I then asked the hotel why they weren't telling guests to be quiet. He said it's business but we weren't told that at the beginning. Apparantly checking in new guests means screw the existing guests. Muhammed was fantastic and also the 2 ladies (Miriam & another) who work during the day, I appreciate their help but this stay was ruined at the end by rude guests and hotel staff that apparantly have no awarness of other guests. Really a shame and definitely won't be going back.
- Kevin (10/5): - Excellent riad with great staff. Not the fanciest riad but great value. Loved the Kasbah district and worth staying in this area. My thanks to the excellent staff.
- ROBBIE (10/5): Delightful! - Beautiful Riad in the heart of the Kasbah, very friendly staff who were happy to assist with all questions and advice.
As a solo traveller it lacked slightly on the social element but that is no fault of the Road - just some information for any future solo travellers :)
- W3830LVfrancob (10/5): execcelent - Excellent location in the centre of kasha , very near to Sahdian tons and El Bahia palace . . very friendly and polite staff , very clean and beautiful rooms, excellent breakfast Moroccan crepes, bread, butter, marmalade, honey, coffee and milk, tea with mint, fruit juice
- Kristin (10/5): Solid choice in Marrakech - We had a wonderful time at Arabian Riad.
Check-in was easy, although when we got to our room we found we had been given the wrong room (asked for 2 beds, got 1). This was frustrating only because we had just arrived from the US and wanted a good night's sleep without waking one another up. Abdul, the hotelier, was very apologetic and the next day we were moved to the correct room. All's well that ends well.
The room (both actually) was comfortable. Breakfast on the roof was a delight. Only toiletry provided was liquid hand soap, so bring your own shampoo, etc.
Location is in the Kasbah, a 15-20 minute walk from the main square, which is good and bad. Not ideal if you want to be going back and forth, but nicely distanced from the chaos to afford a more relaxed vibe. Several nearby reastaurants. Very close to tombs.
- Kelli (10/5): - What a Gem of a Riad. As a single mom traveling with 2 younger children from America, I wanted to experience this but was a bit unsure. But I was delighted with this one. It was amazing. We felt right at home the second we arrived. It was a simple walk to street food and local areas. In just a few moments we were at the square. Fabulous location.
It’s clean, Safe and perfect. So welcoming. They made sure our every need was taken care of and the roof top deck was amazing. Breakfast was a perfect send off. I only wish we could have stayed more days.
- Ernetta (4/5): - The property is located in an older part of the city. Very lively, easily accessible to the Medina and other attractions. Other than location, the property could definitely use some updates. I'm sure there are other riads that offer the same authenticity with better accommodations.
- Emma (10/5): - Very comfortable stay, delicious breakfast, and welcoming hosts.
- carlos (10/5): 2 gentleman - Nice little hotel located in the old city.
They are 2 young man working the front desk: they are awesome amazing, polite and with huge patience. Thank you guys
- Lewis (10/5): Perfect - The perfect base for exploring marrakech.
Walking distance to every landmark within the Medina. The staff, especially Essaid, gave us the best customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Constantly went above and beyond what could be required or expected from accommodation staff.
Breakfast is great as well.
There is no water fountain but water is available at a stall 30 seconds walk from the front door for only 3 dinha.
For an authentic, relaxing stay in marrakech this is the ideal place to stay. Cannot recommend it enough!
- Zeshan (10/5): - Place was great and location was amazing. Everything was walking distance for the most part as the Riad is right in the Medina. We were offered parking close to the Riad. Said was a great host and took care of us while we were there. Overall great!
- Derek (10/5): Great place to stay to explore the Medina - We are a family of 4 from Canada travelling the world.
Our stay at this Riad was our first entrance into Morocco and Said was most accommodating. We mistakenly drove our car the wrong way into the medina and got stuck at a spot too narrow to pass. We connected with Said on whatsapp and he quickly came to our rescue, walked us out and around to the correct location. I would recommend contacting them upon arrival at the airport for more specific direction, as Google took us the wrong way. Once arrived and settled, we had an amazing tagine for dinner (beef and vegetables) with some bread, a perfect way to finish our travel day. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was simple but delicious. Internet in the room was good quality and beds were adequate for our 2 nights. This location proved to be absolutely amazing, as it was quiet and only a 15-20min walk to the main square in the medina. All in all, I would recommend staying here for sure. Feel free to follow our adventures online at (animalsabroad).
On reviendra.
- Rosa (8/5): Great attention - Very nice! Good cooking but a little pricing.
- claratwinding (10/5): The place to stay - We were a group of four friends going to Marrakech, looking for a place to stay while ruminating the city. We booked a room in this Riad (at first only for three, then changed a week before arriving - no bad vibes, super nice!) and arrived without too high expectations. The people were kind indeed and the room was too notch. Breakfast was included and we will highly recommend you to get it as well - juice, coffee and different sorts of traditional bread and cakes - a very good way to get introduced to their kitchen.
They are also kind to help with transportation and day trip plans
- Felicitas (8/5): Professioneller Service - Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal
- mitsukosoma (2/5): Terrible treatment - There are no windows with access to the fresh air in the hotel. All windows face the inside 'living room' with a roof closed by plastic. Breakfast is a ton of bread and stale coffee. The hotel managers seem to be extra sweet and friendly but in fact all their hospitality is fake and they don't give a damn about guests. Their major goal is to get as much as they possibly can. They wanted the payment only in cash and as soon as we arrived. We had no cash and wanted to pay at the check out to which they asked us to pay the next day. When we did bring cash they used a very unfavourable exchange rate. All in all, don't go to Morocco unless absolutely necessary. If you have to, choose ANY other hotel in Marrakech than this one.
- DayTrip820561 (10/5): Is this real life? Or is this just fantasy? - TL;DR
Book it.
Some info:
Sometimes google map does not work well.
Feedback:
There is another world behind those clay bricks.
It’s inside the old town, near the mosque.
The room was amazingly beautiful.
I love the toilet and its design.
I’m gonna upload pictures to see what I’m saying.
Oh, remember this guy, Karim. We’ve been in contact even before we arrived in Morocco.
He’s been very helpful to all my questions and concerns.
Very polite and nice guy.
We had an odd time for breakfast and dinner because of our schedule, but he always asked us what time we will arrive. And he was there at the dining place entrance patiently and happily waiting for us. Basically, it was only us in the whole dining area.
And... he never asked for a Tripadvisor feedback. (But i will do it, he deserves it)
Things to improve:
Maybe they can put some variety of food at breakfast. We were server 6 different kinds of bread, juice, and coffee.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent service , the staff were super helpful and friendly
- nathalie (8/5): Marrakech qui se mérite. ..
- Ana Catarina (10/5): Excecional !! - Lindo! O Riad é espetacular. Funcionários muito simpáticos e acolhedores. Fomos super bem tratados. O quarto era maravilhoso. O pequeno almoço com variedade é servido no terraço. Recomendo a 100%
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Vriendelijke mensen, transfer heen en terug keurig geregeld , konden eerder ontbijten, mooi dakterras
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The décor of the riad is stunning. The rooms were spacious and very clean with large bathrooms, wifi worked really well as we had 3 teenagers all updating their status! Very close to tombs, palace and only about 10 minute walk to the main square of Jemaa el-Fnaa. Although once in the Riad it was very quiet and peaceful.
Breakfast was served on the roof terrace which was a lovely start to the day, it consisted of various breads and pastries which were tasty but I would have like a some other fruit too although fresh orange was served. There was also a large downstairs sitting area which was nice for our 2 family groups to meet in, although there was a plastic cover on the open roof which wasn't removed during our exceptionally hot weather which made this area very stuffy.
Staff were very polite and helpful. I would definitely recommend this Riad as very comfortable place to stay.
- takiu (8/5): - we were given a room we did not book on the first day but we argued about it so the last 3 nights we had the room we booked.
- lucija2505 (6/5): I would not recommend - Room was big, clean and nice. Host seems friendly, always asking questions and showing interest for you, but if you have problem he would not solve it. We had couple of issues, one was the first night we arrived. There was issue with payment and we was afraid we wouldn't get the room(that we payed already!) I would not recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Parfait !
- fabianhariri (2/5): Terrible room and horrible experience! - Host was friendly but not to honest. We booked the blue suite for 4 days.. but sadly the bed was broken and off. The owner said they didnt know and could not do anything for us. No money back... no compensation.. i had to book another riad for the remaining 3 days so our holiday wasnt ruined any more!! The hospitality lacks true gentle feelings...
Honestly... i wouldnt recommend anyone to go to this riad because the money isnt worth it. The fact that they said the bed was broken but they wouldnt compensate us anywhere is a fuzz - DONT GO TO ARABIAN RIAD!!!
- Dan (10/5): Friendly and helpful staff. Great location. - Me and my friend have just returned from Marrakech and had an amazing time staying at the arabian riad. Whenever we had a question they were there to help and would always go that extra mile. We only have breakfast a couple of days but was nice from what we had of it. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone staying in Marrakech. Location was great and only a short walk to many attractions.
- Shanna (10/5): Quiet and pretty riad - Beautiful riad close to attractions and a short walk to the main square in Marrakech. Hotel was quiet and very clean, although the suits weren't quite a 'suit', still comfortable and decorated nicely. Breakfast was a big spread and enjoyed on the roof top terrace, where you can also use loungers and enjoy the sunshine. The staff was very helpful and quick to resolve any issues.
- IvanK679 (10/5): Great stay in the riad - Arabian Riad is an amazing place to stay in Marrakech. Just outside the crowded medina but a few minutes walk Jemaa el-Fna. Also you can find everything you need in the neighbourhood like shops, restourants, souvenir shops, pharmacy etc.
The place is amazingly quiet and very clean. Room is cleaned every day with daily fresh towels and toiletries. Cleaning ladys and other stuff is very kind and friendly always ready to help.
Breakfast is on the wonderful terrace and it's quite plentiful with coffe and tea. The room (azure) has AC so the hot summer days and nights was much more bearable.
We definately enjoed our stay at this riad and we would certainly recommend it to our friends.
- Mauro (10/5): - The best experience in Marrocos. The manager of the hotel was very nice and helpful.
- ChristianMate (10/5): Very pleased!!!!! - I want to keep this short and sweet.
The welcoming was very pleasant, the staff members are super friendly and as helpful as they can be, the breakfast was very nice, the roof terrace is pretty, the location is good but quite difficult to find, and the room was spacious and very clean.
Well done for making our stay comfortable. Keep up the hard work.
- Jovalente (8/5): Feels like home! - Me and my boyfriend decided to go on a city break to Marrakesh for 5 days. He decided on a typical Riad, to have a closer experience. The place is right in the center, but away from the busy roads, which makes it a perfect location. Ahmed, the manager, was fantastic. He was very welcoming, funny, and helpful. Always offering us mint tea, which was delicious. His family was fantastic too, and always very attentive even tough they could not speak very good English.
The room was very spacious, clean and presentable. The terrace was very nice, and a beautiful spot to contemplate the stars at night.
The breakfast was lovely with various options. From coffee, to fresh orange juice, to tea. A lot of bread and traditional delicacies such as pancakes and cake. We find the price reasonable for the service and experience we have had and we would recommend it to everyone!
- John Erik (2/5): Not an honest place - Booked through hotels.com, got confirmation then the riad sent us also their bill, together with the city tax, and very clearly stated that in case of disagreement between the 2 bills it is the bill where we booked it that is valid!! But they forced us to pay the additional fee, which i was not happy with. The owner lives in France, and only communicate with the staffs through emails. Before travelling we emailed a couple of times but the response was either very slow or no response at all on our last email. On the day we were leaing, as we were checking out early, we asked if it were possible to have the breakfast earlier, which was denied. But then later the guy (in charge of the riad) told us he woud arrange an early breakfast, and he will even bring it in the patio (as it will be cold on the terrace at that time, in his own word). He was nowhere to be found the next day, no breakfast, not an apology, nothing. The place itself is nice - am sure based on that alone i would rate it fair, but just from this experience i will not recommend this place - honestly you can find better in terms of place, location and price.
- Rosie (8/5): great stay - wonderful!
- Asantewa (10/5): Staff is worth it. - The staff were amazing! I fell off a camel and needed to go to the hospital late at night. Ahmed accompanied my husband and I. Rada brought us breakfast when I was in bed for a day. They were just amazing, they really made the stay. The manager on the other hand is not great he made sure he was unavailable. He would not let me cancel two nights of our stay and I tried to call multiple times in the weeks prior to our trip and he was unavailable. Overall, the room was great but our bed was broken and had to be fixed two times and the third time we didn't ask because we were leaving the next day. The couscous that we had at the riad was the best we had in Morocco,it was absolutely amazing. They even cooked some fish that we bought from Essaouira for us. I really loved the staff and would gladly stay again. Ahmed was very attentive even if his English is a bit limited and Rada was great as well, her English is better and she even booked our Hammam visit for us. They are both so sweet and the chef was amazing as well. My husband and I loved them and the location of the riad.
- CristianaU3 (10/5): Perfect place to stay in Marrakech! - Our stay at Arabian Riad Marrakech is really great and would like to thank Ahmed and his family for their kindness and hospitality.
Lovely riad, well positioned in a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the main square. We highly recommend it!
Cristiana, Alexandra & Tatiana
- Rutepalmeiraosilva (10/5): Fantastic little Riad! - Our first time here in Morocco, and this cosy typical Riad is just amazing! We loved to stay here. The room, bathroom, all just perfect! Thank’s to Ahmed and everybody else, the lady that cooks the amazing lamb tajine, everybody, thank you for your kindness! We’ll sure be back!
- prettyii (8/5): Home away from Home - “Worth the stay for a home away from home feel!!!” I loved the location, really easy to find. Close enough to the centre of the Medina but far enough from the noise. The room were spacious with very comfortable bed. The staff Ahmed and Radah were amazing - thank you so much for all the help. The breakfast was ok but most riads have the same menu. Great value for the money! Felt right at home! Stayed twice before and after Essaouira!
- Ahmed (4/5): Could be better - Two ladies hospitality was the only good thing. Washroom stinks too much. Pillows were rough.
