Guest Reviews
- Miranda (6/5): - The toilet in my room was ghost flushing every couple of minutes, which made for a noisy night. The water in the shower tub also didn't want to drain properly so I had to stop my shower halfway through to let the water drain.
The heater in the room was completely turned off when I arrived so I had to sit with my jacket on for the first hour until it warmed up (it was near freezing outside). The temperature in the room fluctuated quite a bit, because when the heater turned on it wouldn't turn off for a while, so it would get very warm, then it would slowly cool down until it turned on again.
The breakfast is very minimal. The pancakes were crunchy, probably partially because they were made at 6 am and I ate them close to 9 am. The bread also tasted old.
Other than that the room was good. The mattress was comfortable and the room was clean.
- Pamela (8/5): - Older property, but clean. Breakfast choices align with the cheaper cost of motel. Overall, good experience and I would stay again.
- Dave (6/5): - Economical stay. Cheaper and better service than the other hotel in town. Pleased to see the new microwave and small refrigerator.
- Pat (10/5): - Comfortable beds and spacious suite.
Breakfast is spartan
- Christopher (4/5): - Property was poor condition and several things were not working.
In coronation there are 2 motels and both are in the same condition. This is probably the better of the two but neither are good.
- Kagy (8/5): - Friendly staff
- Don (10/5): - Staff pleasant, room clean. Good beds and big tv.
- Peter (2/5): - The renovations they advertise are a sham. My room (140) had a bed cover with cigarette burns in it. The shower tile that was “renovated” was the worst I’ve ever seen. The breakfast buffet which was supposed to be open at 6am didn’t have warmed up food(sausages). Even though I had a 3 day reservation, my girlfriend and I left after 2days.
- Lorne (8/5): I’d definitely stay here again. - Even though the motel is older I was quite comfortable in the room I checked into. Everything worked well and the bed was clean and comfy. I would stay here again if I found myself in the area. Cheers.
- BsharpMT (8/5): - First off, when I review hotels/motels, I base it on a few factors: a lot based on the room rate and what amenities or features were made available for that and how did the quality of this accommodation justify the rate and also the class of hotel.
It is not a fair review when one just gives 1 or 2 stars for some place and doesn't give enough reason to justify that. If it was a luxurious hotel downtown in major city, of course my standards would be much higher, but this is a BUDGET motel here in the Town of Coronation! Always keep in mind, you get what you pay for.
One also has to take in consideration that this town has been hit hard by the oil economy bust, no surprise there.
This place offers a decent place to sleep and they've even upgraded some rooms to a "deluxe". I had booked the Deluxe Room, but the one-door fridge there lacked the small freezer, which the standard rooms had. I wondered what was so "deluxe" about this room. Well the bathroom and nicer TV, stone tile flooring. Not bad. Your fridge in #102 had a door that swings to the right, towards you instead of the wall. That's a problem. Doors should always swing to the wall, and not be bumping into furniture. There's no way to empty a cooler when the door swings into your path, blocking your way to inside.
So, I noticed the nice fellow moving a large fridge from #103, the room I had stayed in just 2 wks ago, and he let me use it in the standard room for the same price I paid for the deluxe.
Very nice!
- john (4/5): Stay in Stettler - The rooms are not very nice. The bathroom was disgusting. The shower door didn’t close properly. Drive an hour and stay in stettler you won’t be disappointed.
- Jacquie (8/5): Cozy hotel for a small town - This hotel is your typical small town in the middle of nowhere. It is very clean and cozy though and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. I was very pleased
- Dan (8/5): Good Place to stay - Its a good motel. All people hunting staying there. They need more business from the oil patch if it picks back up again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Place is very old and looking run down. Room was wide open when I got there and beds weren't even changed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): It is what it is! - The staff try to ensure your stay is pleasant and you are looked after. The hotel is older and although well appointed for the most part, it lacks some comforts. Ie. bed could be more comfy
All in all, I knew what to expect and was not disappointed.
- Sue and Terry (8/5): - It was good, very nice owners
- Sandra (6/5): A working crew motel - Very noisy refrigerator, friendly staff
