- René (9/5): Loved staying at Springwater cottages. - The comfort of the place, peace and quiet The gravel road getting there was a bit unexpected but did not take away from our positive experience once we have reached the cottages.

- Carla (10/5): -
- Katharine (10/5): Quiet and peaceful Farmstay - We stayed in Cranny Cottage with our two dogs. Such a great experience that we ended up staying an extra night! If you want a peaceful, chilled time with little distraction this place is for you 😊 Nothing
- Kayleigh (10/5): Absolutely fabulous space to stay!!! - Wonderful stay!
Host Karien was absolutely amazing. The space was immaculate, beautiful, and very comfortable. The farm was peaceful and quiet, with stunning walks to enjoy. We had a truly relaxing stay and would definitely return. I wish there was a map for the hiking trail or a sign, so I didnt have to bother the host with this question.
- Patrick (10/5): -
- Tersia (8/5): -
- Lize-Maree (9/5): - Very sweet host with great attention to detail. I prefer a bathroom with a door.
- Murray (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (10/5): Highly recommend this stay will definitely be back - It was spotless, smelt beautiful and fresh, modern cosy and extremely comfortable, stunning setting and very peaceful Nothing it was perfect
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - Springwater is a great place to stop for a few nights and enjoy the Maluti hills. Karien was really attentive and communicative, check in was a breeze and the unit was spacious, well equipped and comfortable. We had our dogs with us and they loved being on the farm, the units are close together so just a heads up in case your animals are not friendly but for us there was no one else at the property while we were there.
- Dean (8/5): It was a wonderful stay. - The location is beautiful and pet friendly
- Simone (9/5): Bucolic bliss in the Free State - Our cottage was surprisingly spacious, well decorated and clean. A lovely blend of ancient farm building and modern, clean interiors which provided a comfortable one night stay for our family of four, and everything we needed to make a simple but homely dinner. The little touches like toiletries, firelighters, candles on the bath, nougats on the beds and a colouring book to use and leave behind just made the cottage more welcoming and our stay so convenient and pleasant. Its in a beautiful, quiet and rural setting - great for birding and relaxing! There were lots of flies - but being a farming community with livestock, this wasn’t inexplicable. A fly swat was provided!
- Candice (9/5): Relaxing escape - Lovely location, great little cottage, all you really need! Shower was a bit tricky and tap kept falling off
- Brigs (10/5): Quiet and restful - We loved the little extras that were included. Soaps, creams, rusks, sherry etc. We stayed in Unit 4 Cranny. It’s a very rustic but comfortable place. We lacked nothing. Every comfort has been thought of. We enjoyed the outdoor shower and the exceptional sheets and pillows on our bed. If you are a person who enjoys being interconnected with nature (the good, the bad and the ugly) then this is a little place will suite you well. It has great comforts and is exceptionally clean! The view is breathtaking and so is the sunrise over the mountain. We enjoyed our one night stay there!
Thank you Karien for your hospitality and attention to detail! Nothing to dislike
- Win (9/5): Restful, great vista, hidden gem - Beautiful location, nicely designed cottage. The hostess was warm and friendly. My dogs loved running around the fields. The wifi didn't work. The guest book warned this might happen but it would've been nice to have had the service.
- Johan (9/5): The stilness is deafening! Absolutely wonderful to only hear birds and insects. - In the middle of nature, facilities off the grid. We were welcomed by a beautiful electric thunderstorm The dirt road for the last 8km there was a bit rough, but they did inform you on booking, do no surprise really
- Johan (10/5): Exceptional - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the accommodation was even better than the pictures! It was the perfect place for us to celebrate our anniversary in the peace and quiet of the surrounding sandstone hills.
- Kiana (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer to explore the farm. - The cottage was nice and cozy, we especially enjoyed the view. Everything was clean and the space was inviting (chocolates, rusks, coffee, water, mosquito repellent, soaps etc. provided). An aircon would have been nice in the heatwave.
- Nthabiseng (8/5): The name matches the place - The place is the hidden gem. Beautiful views and peaceful, I like the quietness. Signal coverage not good
- Kyle (9/5): Superb - Fantastic views from the cottage and it was very clean. Everything worked as expected and we had no issues with privacy or noise. The cottage was set up well for self-catering and the hosts are very warm and welcoming It would have been great if there was WiFi included. We tried connecting a couple times but there was no internet each time so we had to use our cellphone data.
- Margari (10/5): I will definitely book here again! - The cottage has a lovely view! It's clean and spacious. The road to the cottage is a very rough drive.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kim (9/5): Peaceful, tranquil, stylish rustic beautiful farm setting. - Loved the remoteness, rural setting, great linen, welcoming hosts Perhaps there needs to be a railing on the high section of the veranda and level the floor in lounge
- Peter (9/5): Peaceful - The peace and quiet and the Jack Russel visiting. The water for washing up and showering could be hotter.
- Mark (10/5): A great getaway in a remote setting. - I especially enjoyed exploring the farm and nearby roads (very quiet). Beautiful views in a farm setting. The cottage is spacious and well kitted out for self catering. Our gas geyser gave a bit of trouble during our stay. However, there was a backup electric geyser that worked very well.
- Elmé (9/5): Lovely for quiet weekend away - Lovely location for a quiet weekend away. Enjoyed that the cottage had two comfortable bedrooms both en suite. Hosts were friendly and helpful at all times. Lots of space for the dogs to roam and explore.
- De (8/5): Excellent - It was still The farm

- Sa (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Lucille (10/5): we'll be back! - it was scenic and SO peaceful. like a bit of heaven. the farm animals were entertaining - cattle, sheep, meerkats - even a hare!! there was nothing we didn't enjoy. some people might complain about the R26 road - at the end of the day it adds to the adventure 😬😬😬😬
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good - The view was absolutely breathtaking. Lovely retreat to escape the city for rest and relaxation. Road can be difficult to navigate after heavy rains.
- Casper (10/5): Amazing peaceful farm stay - Peace and tranquility. Great spot to view the stars. Modern interior and bathroom. Great place to braai! The drive in is on a dirt road, so just make sure you have a car that can do it.
- Tsoaeli (8/5): The place is great and accomodating and blends well with the surrounding nature - The place is in serene location with all the furnisher that is required. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. the cottage is maintained in clean condition The road to the facility is gravel. The road becomes slippery and muddy when it rains.
- Josua (9/5): Superb -
- Taelo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sean (7/5): Good - Super quiet with beautiful views
- Brent (7/5): Neat and clean, with great views, if you can get there. - Beautiful view. The road into the property was really bad and needs a lot of repair. Even in a high clearance vehicle we scrapped the bottom of the vehicle several times.
We thought to eat at restaurant in Fiksburg for dinner but some of the group were worried to even attempt the road at night.
The 2nd room wasn’t ready for us, but Anton did resolve quickly. The photos didn’t quite show the open plan layout.
