- Jen (10/5): Highly recommended as the accommodation is of a very high standard & very friendly owners. - The accommodation was very comfortable and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The owners were very friendly, attentive and kind. I so appreciated the little touches like the sharing of their 'paper' map, being shown the town's Christmas lights and being given a bag of delicious apricots. This is difficult. I can't add anything here.
- George (7/5): Good - The breakfast was very generous!
The room was comfy. The town does lack options for dinner on a Sunday night which is unfortunate given there is no dinner at the accommodation.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peita (7/5): Traditional old style farmhouse - Beautiful old Cape Dutch farmhouse style with lovely outdoor area though it was too hot to sit outside.. Had a lounge area. Hosts friendly and helpful. Air-conditioning a plus as it is very hot here in summer. Room good size and quaint but not really anywhere to put anything. Lounge and room quite dark. Upstairs floorboards creaked loudly whenever anyone moved around. Breakfast quite good but didn't offer any choice and same both days. Single beds in king room.
- Victoria (8/5): A lovely building and very comfortable room with very friendly hosts. - Very friendly and helpful hosts and a great location for Calitzdorp.
Breakfast was fantastic. Nothing specific.
- Ronel (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (10/5): Calitzdorp Pride - Marlene and Steven are the perfect hosts for this jewel of an establishment. Everything, from their reception, most beautifully and tastefully furnished rooms, the delectable chocolates and complimentary bottle of wine to the sumptious breakfasts are deserving of 5 stars.
We would love to stay there again.

- Eugene (10/5): A Delightful Weekend at Port Wine Guesthouse in Calitzdorp - Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by Steve and Marlene, who made us feel right at home. Their personalized service was truly exceptional, as they took the time to ensure that every aspect of our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.
The rooms at Port Wine Guesthouse were not only comfortable but also beautifully decorated, adding to the overall charm of the place. We especially appreciated the attention to detail, from the plush bedding to the thoughtful amenities provided.
One of the highlights of our stay was the amazing breakfast served each morning. Marlene's culinary skills were evident in every dish. It was the perfect way to start our days of exploring the picturesque surroundings of Calitzdorp.
One particular gesture that stood out was when Steve offered to wash our dusty car after a trip through the stunning Groenfontein road. It was these small acts of kindness that truly made our stay exceptional. Everything was perfect!
- John (8/5): Very good - breakfast was excellent, our hosts were great it was all good.
- Lyall (4/5): Disappointed! - The location was superb. We did not get to stay the night at this beautiful lodge as the air conditioning unit did not work. We did, as requested by our hostess, to wait another hour or so for the room to cool down but decided (after 90+ minutes) to look for alternative accommodation elsewhere. It should be noted that the temperature in Calitzdorp that day was in excess of 37c.
One other disappointment would have been the green pool...had we decided to stay there.
- Hugh (9/5): It was unique, great hosts - The hosts were great, really helpful. Breakfast was good healthy and the presentation was excellent. Beautiful traditional and very interesting property All good
- Liesel (10/5): Great location and lovely rooms - Location is very convenient as it's pretty much walking distance (if you want to brave the heat) from the lovely Station pub and De Kranz winery and the other wineries. Bed was comfortable. There was a coffee machine in the room and the host provided complimentary bottled drinking water as the tap water is not drinkable. Lovely towels. Hot water worked well in our shower. Breakfast was really good - fruit/muesli yoghurt, followed by pancakes and then a cooked breakfast which was very well executed. There was private parking inside the property behind an electric gate and suitable for high/overlanding vehicles too. There is no backup power during loadshedding but portable lights are provided in the room. There are mesh in front of the windows to keep mozzies out. Host was welcoming and informative about the area. More worktop space in the bathroom to put amenity bags etc on.
- David (9/5): Superb - very comfortable stay
- Philippe (8/5): We met nice people - Excellent breakfast.
