Guest Reviews
- Gary (10/5): - My Amtrak train was due to arrive 5 hours late - 1 AM. I called and explained. They told me they'd text me the room number, leave it unlocked with key inside, and to just leave the door unlocked when my bus left before motel office opening. All went well - Thanks!!!
- Wendy (6/5): - Next door neighbors arrived at 1120pm and made so much racket until after 115am, it was hard to settle down until they did. not sure what they were doing and I was not sure whether to call the police or the management. almost sounded like they might have been stealing furniture.
- Pedro (6/5): - Could use some upgrading.
- Kevin (6/5): - Not particularly clean, trash from previous guest was left in the room, the carpet looks disgusting. The bed was comfortable.
- Benjamin (8/5): - The outside of the motel looked sketchy, but after we spoke to the owners over at the training, post, who were very friendly, we walked back to our room, which was very clean and cozy, just a bit worn down. Overall, though we slept quite well.
- Sheryl (6/5): - Bed was comfortable. Carpet was dirty/worn. Expensive.
- Phil (6/5): - Photos indicated rustic log cabin style. The room was very much not. Instead it was a simple drywall/paint; floor was warped and carpet. Compare to attached image.
- Jeffrey (4/5): Too small of a bathroom. - The bathroom was so small it was almost unusable. Your knees hit the wall when on the toilet.
I had to park on the street because they wasn't room for full size trucks to park without blocking others.
- Patty (10/5): - The room is very nice & the location is perfect. Thank you
- michael (8/5): - Clean and simple
- Barbara Garr (8/5): - Cabin was adorable and comfortable, although the “office” was not located at the site…it was 2 blocks away at the General store. Parking was pretty cramped, but we made it work.
- AMOS (8/5): Good option but expensive - Good option among limited options. Ecpensive.
- Heidi (8/5): - Staff were very friendly. The room was clean and it was nice h
- Gregory (6/5): - Typ older style rooms, office is 2 blocks away.
- August (8/5): - Room could use some updates and a bigger refrigerator, and the kitchen could use a few more pots and pans
- Gina (6/5): - I got Gina's name but not the guy that helped us too. They were both so sweet and personable and always willing to help. Now the room was small, bathtub in #10 was out of order but the bed was comfortable which helped us sleep really well. The train nor traffic bothered me and I sleep light. But overall staying there was pleasant and that small town vibe was lovely.
- Thomas (6/5): Ok if you want basic room with nothing else - Nice room but, check in is 2 blocks away and they didn’t have my reservation in their system. Fridge broken, bad wifi, dangerous parking lot with deep gravel,
- Marjorie (10/5): - Owner helped us with check in to stay in the same room for two days. Store was convenient. Walked to Serranos Mexican Restaurant it was really good.
- Michael (10/5): - O
- Michael (8/5): - A be little noisy at night due to trains, trucks and neighbors.
- Unchisa (6/5): - Very old and run down place. Not worth the price
- Teresa (6/5): - Small, basic at it’s best.
- Mercedes (6/5): - The rooms were clean and tidy. Amenities in each room varied from flat screens vs old tv, coffee machine no coffee machine. The cost was far too much for what you get. Owner and Staff however are very helpful and nice. It needs a face list. The cafe close by is great and the coffee truck is awesome across the street. Plus they turned us on to the Jamaican and Pizza food trucks which were delicious
- Jayne (8/5): - clean
- Marjorie (10/5): - Mark helped us with our check in and made it possible for us to stay in the same room for two nights.
- Randall (4/5): - Disappointed in the place
- Vickie (6/5): - Very tight accomodations. Had to go off property to check in. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- Mark J (8/5): - The interior was okay. The room was clean. We stayed there for 2 days. The staff cleaned the room after one night of the stay. There was a huge gap over 1/4" under bottom of entry door. The exterior not in the best of shape.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay somewhere else. - This is a place to avoid. The WiFi did not work. The bathroom is literally 2' by 3'. I didn't even try to take a shower. There is mold on the ceiling of the shower. There was a bulb out in the ceiling light fixture. There is no AC. Yes, I know it is a cool climate. The main room was approximately 9' by 9'. The bathroom sink water tap was so short that I could not fit my had underneath. There was not a fan or window in the bathroom. The parking situation is poor. Guests coming after us had to park on street. The photos are not representative of the room we were in.
- Mike (8/5): - We stayed coming and going from the park so got to see several of the rooms. They are all slightly different. They all met our basic needs. Nothing fancy. The staff was helpful and very friendly.
- Kim (6/5): - It was clean but the carpet was not in good condition, the tub wasn’t working, and there wasn’t any shampoo until I asked for it and the ‘desk’ was 2 blocks away.
- Roger (10/5): - Nice owner and very friendly.
- Melonee (4/5): -
- Nataliya Zelikovsky (10/5): - This was a great find! The room was spacious and clean. Owner was very accommodating and helpful. Check-in/out was easy.
- James (6/5): - Rooms are clean and well equipped. The staff is nice. The check in is 2 blocks down the street from the address of the hotel as stated by a note on the window of the actual hotel. It would have been nice to know this before driving all day and being at the wrong address than check in. We called 24 hours in advance to confirm the reservation but was not told that the hotel address is not the same as the check in address.
- Paul (10/5): - Simple but comfortable. Friendly staff. Good price for the area
- Mike (8/5): - Kitchenette was adequate for us to make our own fine dinner. Wish both beds were queens. Felt bad for the other couple. Fine for rustic accommodations when you just need a place to crash. Didn’t really mind that we couldn’t get the TV to work.
- james (2/5): - Room was dingy. Dust and grime on edges near windows and shower entry. No staff of property for check in. Had to go 2 blocks to another business to ask for soap and shampoo. Overpriced tiny motel with thin walls and limited parking
- JANICE (10/5): - Great
- Charles (10/5): - It’s a roadside motel. The facilities are good inside. People are nice. No complaints
- James (10/5): - Good
- Lora (8/5): - Old fashioned motel. Nothing fancy. Was clean and owners are great. Parking was a little tricky.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was a small motel. It was clean but the room and bathroom were extremely small. It was an old and not updated motel.
- Michael (2/5): - Horrible! Please remove from your offerings. No office on site, dingy surroundings, dirty, no ice but did have tv and WiFi, My wife may sleep in car, she would not shower here or unpack suitcase, the price should have given me hint but I trusted your site not to offer properties run down like this
- Christine (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay. Room very clean and comfortable. Housekeeping everyday. We always had fresh towels and coffee. Staff very pleasant.
- David (6/5): Not impressed but have been in worse - Property is quite old and has run down look in comparison to others in the area. Rate seemed high for the room that we had. Bathroom was tiny and actually quite funny when we saw it. But wife and I are not overly particular and made due since it was just a one nighter and we just needed a bed and shower which were decent enough.
- Jeff (8/5): - Close to Glacier National Park
- David (8/5): Pretty Good Spot - We were housed in the old office and had lots of room. It was toward the street and a little louder but the space was nice. No air conditioning made for a warm night. The microwave and fridge were nice to have.
- DONALD (10/5): - Location great,
- Lisa (10/5): - This place was a godsend after a catastrophe with another rental. It was spacious, clean and so comfortable. It has working WiFi, air conditioning and the hosts were so friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
- Cheryl (8/5): - The room was large and bed was comfortable. Very spacious. Owner did check in and provided a lot of info on what to see and do in East Glacier Park. Dining was within walking distance.
- marion (6/5): - There was only one plug socket with 7 possible appliances to use it. It felt unsafe to have all the wiring joined together to enable their use.
Parallel parking didn't solve the issue of too little space. It meant someone's vehicle gets blocked in.
Overall bathroom space was very limited.
- Kelly (10/5): - The room was spacious with an updated bathroom. The beds were very comfortable. The owner was very accommodating to my late arrival!
- David (10/5): - Everything was superb!
- David (4/5): - Check in went well. Room was OLD & TINY. Parking Tight! Would I stay there again? NO.
Sorry for the bad review.
- Heidi (10/5): - Don’t be put off by the outside! It’s completely redone inside! Big room, comfy beds, very clean!
- Sarah (8/5): - It’s a motel, so expect basic. The store for check-in is close to the Amtrak station and before you get to the motel anyway. WiFi worked some of the time, which for that area, is pretty good! I didn’t get much Verizon reception. Tiny shower in a tiny bathroom. I don’t think there was an AC unit, but there was a fan. There are 1 or 2 steps to get into the unit, which was manageable with my mobility disabilities. Some areas of the room were dusty/had cobwebs, but for a one night stay, not bad. The best part—I had 2 suitcases and not only did they store them for me while I was on a Glacier Park tour, but Mark kindly had my luggage driven to the store so I wouldn’t have to lug it down 2 blocks in the early morning!!! I can’t thank Mark enough!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Old and worn - Poorly furnished. For the "computer" table there was a fold out chair - not comfortable. Large gap under door - had to stuff a towel across door to keep "critters" out. Housekeeping knocking on door to see if we were still in room, told them we weren't leaving until next day. They waited for us to leave and then came into the room to make the beds and change out towels. We DID NOT like anyone coming in without our consent as all of our belonging were in the room. Parking was atrocious. Fortunately, we were able to back in from the street and into a space next to a snow trac machine. The room just looked old and worn. Thankfully we were only there for two nights. The BEST thing about our stay was breakfast at Two Medicine Grill. EXCELLENT food and very friendly staff. They get 5 stars.
- Heidi (6/5): - Very good location right outside of the park. Staff at the store where you pick up the key was very nice and helpful and gave us a bag of ice. Property is very old and noisy because it is right near the road and railroad tracks. Carpet is in very bad condition and needs replacing. Bathroom was clean and had basic needs. Bed fine. No ac, but they had a fan.
- Kathleen (10/5): - This property is very accessible to East side activities. It’s clean and quiet!
- Toni (6/5): - Tiny, tiny room with a large price tag. It is a great location entrance to the park.
- Dennis (10/5): - All was fine. Note on front to go 2 blocks to store to check in. No big deal and they were very friendly. Small room, but cozy and even an old fashioned TV that worked great. Came to East Glacier to spend some time at an event back to the west about 10 miles, and this was the closest place to stay It all worked out and we had an awesome meal at Serranos just down the street.
- Virgie (8/5): - It was an older motel and small, but the bed was comfortable and it was clean. It was just right for an overnight stay for my husband and I. The owners were very pleasant and helpful. Would stay there again.
- Stephanie (10/5): - Mark and staff were great. All our needs were met.
- michele (8/5): - Small 8 unit motel. Even across from the train station it was quiet. No air conditioning. But windows, fans and cool mountain breezes
- Lennie M (4/5): - Place to sleep, no shampoo/conditioner or hairdryer, or iron, only offered 3 small tiny soap. No air conditioner in room 5, just rotating small fan. Nice they had refrigerator and microwave. Room was exceptionally small and dated with double bed.
- Yuechen (10/5): - Thanks Mark for being a great host! We checked in late but the process was super smooth. The motel room was clean and tidy as well, very satisfied with my stay!
- Keith (8/5): - Everything was great except for the bathroom. It was the smallest bathroom I have ever seen at a motel. Small, but it was also very clean. Staff was nice. If you are riding a motorcycle, the lot is deep gravel.
- Lisa (10/5): - We arrived a couple hours early and the owners allowed us to check in. Very nice room on the inside!
- Rick (6/5): - Room is ok, small. Dumpy and unkept on the outside. You have to walk a couple blocks down to check in. Terrible parking in front of the room. Roll around air conditioner in the room. Room was clean. They do give you a bag of ice at the store when checking in.
- Ann (10/5): - Just an overnight stay - staff was very friendly
- Olga (4/5): - Dirty bathroom , loose door to shower box, no hangers and no place to hang clothing, dusty blinds
- Nicole (8/5): - If you’re looking for a cute little place with small town charm, this is it! The owner was very friendly and extremely understanding when we had to unexpectedly leave a day early. Great experience overall!
- Stephanie (10/5): - The Whistling Swan is adorable! The owner was accommodating and knowledgeable about the area. He was so helpful. Be sure to check out the Two Medicine Grill just down the street.
- Timothy (4/5): - Run down looking from the outside although planters had been filled which improved the appearance. Limited parking on site. Was awoken in the night by a very loud bang and saw in the morning a van had ploughed into the back of a car (probably a guests) on the street outside causing considerable damage and was left in situ. Walls are thin. Couldn’t get to sleep due to a man next door constantly clearing his throat and also what sounded like gun shots nearby. Very long goods trains rumble through the town all night. Clean bedding but thin. Towels clean and thick but bathroom dirty, shower disgusting. Not been cleaned for a very long time. Body hair left behind and grime all along the seals and floor edges. I could wipe some of it away with just toilet paper so no excuse for not giving it a bleaching and a scrub. Room dusty too and we couldn’t get the tv to work. WiFi was ok.
- Diana (6/5): Disappointed with the room. - I knew when I booked this that they were $ less but the room was very small, and the bathroom was very small. There was no deadbolt lock - only the one on the doorknob that could have been easily broken into. I pushed my open suitcases in front of the door at night. The only positive on this stay was the friendliness of the towns people and the room was clean. There were only two pillows and they were very flat.
- Pam (8/5): Older, but nice! - Nice, family-owned motel in a lovely small town outside of Glacier Nat’l Park.
- Brittany (10/5): - This was a cute small cabin, very clean! It was right in town close to a Mexican restaurant that was the best food I ever had. Would stay here again.
- Vikki (4/5): - Not at all as expected. Had to check in 2 blocks down the road. It was like staying in a strangers spare bedroom. Bed was ok, but bathroom sink didnt drain, and shower dripped. Odd experience.
- Deborah (4/5): - The bed was pretty comfortable. There is a smart TV, The linen are nice. That’s about the only thing good about this place. The carpet has been on the floor since at least 1970. The bathroom sink doesn’t drain. The shower floor is dirty. There was a clawfoot tub but it doesn’t work. The train track is just across the street and it. runs often even during the night.
- Chris (10/5): - The room was clean, warm and inviting. Very comfortable.
- Brian (10/5): loved my stay - I stayed in E Glacier to avoid the prices of Whitefish, and I’m so glad I did! Whistling Swan is clean, comfortable and calm. Good restaurants nearby, especially the Two Medicines Grill.
It’s an Excellent departure point for Glacier and surrounding reservation. The Blackfeet are so friendly and welcoming. Don’t miss the Glacier tour with Mountainchief Taxi Co.
- Jennie (4/5): - It is a nice enough place EXCEPT it has birds nesting in the wall, so it is VERY noisy when it is light outside, as early as 5:30 am and as late as 10:30 pm. This was a room with two queen beds. There are many birds and babies crying for food. They put a hole in the back of the wall maybe so they can fly out. But they need to work on removing them. Also there is no dead lock on the door. And there is a large space beneath the door so animals (like mice) can easily crawl in. And early in the morning (5:30 or 6) two motorcycles were leaving and while warming up all the fumes came in under the door. Bring ear plugs and a large towel to put in front of the door. Not sure what a visitor can do to secure the door given the lock they have.
- PRAJEET HETAL (10/5): - A beautiful stay in a quiet town! :)
- Donald (10/5): - Great little place to stay traveling through town. Small but cozy it was perfect for my wife and I.
- Doug (10/5): - Clean but noisy from the trains. I understand about the trains.
- William (6/5): - Property is on the highway immediately adjacent to railroad tracks. Train went by frequently.
- Yayoi (8/5): - The staff were nice
- Rene (4/5): - I want to be truthful in this review. It just was not a good place to stay. I was in room 4. First of all, it is right next to train tracks. A loud freight train passes through what feels like every hour, even at night. It is really hard to ignore, especially when you’re a light sleeper.
Check-in was also strange. There is no front desk or staff on site. You have to walk down the block to a grocery store to get your key. Maybe that is normal for the area, but as someone from a city, it caught me off guard.
The room itself had several issues. The glass door on the shower was not secure. It moved up and down like it was not properly installed. The doorknob to the room also felt unsafe, it rotated no matter which way you turned it, so you could not tell if it was actually locked—you had to open the door and check from the outside. The toilet seat also had strange scratches and looked like it had not been replaced in a long time. It just did not feel clean or taken care of.
I have been on a road trip from Denver to Seattle, stopping through the national parks, and out of all the places I have stayed, this was by far my least favorite. The owner did seem very kind, which is the only reason I am giving this two stars instead of one. But I would not stay here again. Just being honest.
- Kent (8/5): - It is a good room, but rather dated. Needs some upgrades. I stayed for only 1 night, so it was alright. It's probably best for a solo traveler who is looking for a night or two.
- Paul (8/5): - The motel is very convenient to East Glacier NP entrance. Room was small, but clean, and owner was very friendly and helpful.
- Tom (8/5): - The room was remodeled and the bathroom was very nice. Easy to find in East Glacier on the main highway. Within walking distance to the Trading Post, Amtrak station and eating establishments. Reasonable.
- Michael (10/5): - The gentleman that checked us in was extremely nice and couldn't have done more for us.
- Jessica (10/5): - We stayed for 2 nights. Room was very clean, bed comfortable. Great location to visit Glacier National Park. The property owners were so kind and welcoming.
- bobby (10/5): - Quaint rustic motel, well kept and convenient for the area. Outside door could use weatherstripping.
- Scott (8/5): - A bit crusty (everything is around there, wild west feel) but clean, large room. Owner is a great guy, connected to the store that is within walking distance so its all very homey and conveniant. East access to Two Medicine.
- Gary (10/5): - Great stay
- John (2/5): - Very small room, under 12 x 12 room with a 4 x5 bathroom. Knees hit the wall when sitting on the toilet and in only 5 ft 10 in. Check in was 2 blocks away. Not enough parking. Lack of eating places. Many trains passing kept us awake. Worst hotel in a long time.
- Richard (10/5): - Interior was very nice clean and maintained. The exterior needs some maintenance. Cleaning lady doing excellent work.
- Yun (10/5): - Good
