Guest Reviews
- Danni ferreira (6/5): -
- Guest (8/5): - Escondido Inn was a great value. My room was clean. There was also a fridge and microwave.
- Alex (7/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay! Wonderful manager. - For the low price, this place is amazing! Really nice manager too. Their website crashed and led to us accidentally booking four rooms (four nights) instead of one, and the manager checked in with me over phone ahead of time so we were able to catch it and he offered to cancel the other rooms, no issues, no fees. He was happy to help us save that money and I really appreciate it.
The room itself was very spacious and clean. Big bathroom, very comfortable king bed, vaulted ceiling with a pretty mural of the sky (& an optional black light you can turn on to see stars on the ceiling as well as how clean the room is). Felt like we were staying in a friend’s guest room (except with amenities like a microwave and fridge). We were able to check in really late in the night/early morning, and check out early too. Overall a great stay!
- Guest (10/5): It was perfect for our short getaway - Clean, good price Cleaning solution was too strong smelling
- Robert (9/5): -
- Ruben (10/5): - Surroundings areas
- April (10/5): Great Place to Stay for a Weekend!! - The Staff is really nice and attentive.
- Dene (4/5): -
- Bjelland (8/5): good value - The room was very clean. The attendant that checked me in was very helpful. The air conditioning was not too good in that it was somewhat noisy. Excellent value for the money. noisy air conditioner
- Dilara (8/5): Für einen kurzen Aufenthalt bestens geeignet. - Das Zimmer war groß und geräumig. Es gibt nichts zu beanstanden.
- brenda (6/5): - Noisy especially in the morning very busy street
- Jaime (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (10/5): - Great place
- Alice (10/5): Definitely a better motel - The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but this motel was a pleasant surprise. Beautiful inside, very comfy, and a nice little patio outside that is locked. I felt very secure and comfortable.
- FrequentTraveller034 (8/5): Better Than Expected - The motel is well located and sparkling clean. I did deduct one point because of curb appeal (dated look) and lack of coffee maker or availability of coffee in the morning. The room appeared to be recently upgraded, with attractive murals on the ceiling and walls. I did have one problem with hot water in the morning. One of us had a shower with nice hot water, but after that shower, there was only tepid water available. There were some funky additions to the room, e. g. a new retro microwave and little refrigerator and a charmingly funky retro telephone. I would stay here again for a short stay.
- Genevieve Susan (10/5): - I like everything… I just dunno what the staff would do if I fail to bring my ID 😅😅
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deric (6/5): Need a place to sleep with a shower this will work. - Available day of Very basic
- Ilianna (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay, never had any problems and i stayed for two nights! i would love to come back when i visit again :) very clean and cozy
- Mel (10/5): - Very cozy motel
- Cheryl (8/5): - Room was clean and comfortable. There were obnoxious drivers going down the street playing their music too loudly or gunning their engines, but that’s not the hotel’s fault. It was intermittent, but
still annoying. 🙄
- Shelby (7/5): Good and bad - Fun mural, and ceiling paint, and cool Galaxy lights. That bed in (I think we were in room) 106 was a king bed but completely slouched on one side. If they fix that up it wouldn't be a pretty decent stay for the price.
- Arenivaz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roger (8/5): Very good -
- Tim (6/5): - Clean and good.
Extremely reasonable too.
- Virginia (8/5): Very good -
- Ryo (10/5): - Very nice little place. The cleaner comes dsiky
- Marcos (10/5): - Close to freeway
- Ronald (8/5): Good stay - Was only there for one night but it was a wonderful room. Really liked the vaulted ceiling.
- Peng (8/5): - Service was great , fast and friendly.
- Renee (4/5): Keep Looking... - Location was central I purposely requested a handicapped accessible room at time of booking because I have trouble waking up stairs with braces and crutches. I was told upon arrival they were booked up and there were no bottom floor rooms available and no elevator (this isn't a historical hotel so not sure how they are getting away with that). Okay so I can deal but geez at least offer to help with bags, probably would have declined but at least a gesture would have softened the blow. Got to my room and went to hang up my clothes and there was no closet! Well, I thought let me at least put a few waters in the little fridge that was I believe were the closet was supposed to be but even that wasn't turned on! Honestly not sure if it even worked because even a few hours later the fridge was luke warm. If I wasn't going to stay more than one night I would have high-tailed out of there. Not good...
- Lewis (10/5): Nice - Great
- Maricela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lilly (10/5): We will be back! - Great value!! Room was cute and clean and bed was comfy. Shower was amazing and bathroom quite spacious. The painted ceiling in the room was fun and so were the starry night lights. Manager was friendly and property felt safe.
- Cynthia (6/5): Pleasant -
- V (10/5): - This place is awesom
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Zeyad (10/5): Excellent service! - Always excellent service!
- Swift (10/5): - This place was great and the staff is always awesome everytime me & my partner come and stay with
- Kayode (4/5): - Was not worth the price. The beds were screeching and who sleeps on a ring bed nowadays
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Keith (6/5): - The room’s wall paper behind the headboard and painted ceilings was unique. My daughter enjoyed them, especially at night when you turn on the black light and a painted galaxy appears on the ceiling. The only downsides was that there is very limited tight parking (can and will get blocked in in certain spots), the walls are very thin (so quite noisy), and bed was very stiff with uncomfortable pillows. The center legs to the bed frame were also bent causing the bed to cave in the middle. Otherwise the rooms were very clean( just like photos) and staff was friendly.
- Phogene (8/5): - It’s a motel what can you expect
- Lorinda (10/5): - The room was very nice and clean. The front desk person was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay.
- File (10/5): - Stayed 1 night beautiful rooms clean .
- Zeyad (10/5): Excellent service and stay! Always! - Beautiful rooms and the gentleman at the front desk is impeccable with his service on every stay! 🙏
- Nicole (10/5): - This was the nicest motel I’ve ever stayed at. It was an unplanned stay - needed something last minute and hopped online to look. Arrived late, didn’t feel like sketchy people around. Check in guy was nice and let me get ice after hours. It’s a small place, with small but adequate parking right in front.
Outside in good condition with welcoming sunshine yellow doors on rooms. Inside of room was clean and decor was delightful - a colorful mural taking up most of wall that you see upon entering, and a sky scene with birds on the ceiling. Pretty white wooden shutters on windows, nice headboards, good bedding, and comfortable bed. Bathroom was long and spacious for a motel, with a high window letting in natural light. Cute mini-fridge. And no carpet. Very nice all the way around.
Didn’t see if there was breakfast option. Is in town, so some street noise in the morning - but nothing that woke me up. If I was going to make a suggestion, it would be to add one of those door locks that allow you to crack door open, while still being latched - a 2nd lock like that gives an added feeling of security.
Thanks so much for a great stay!
- William (10/5): - Large room with two queen beds. Bathroom was separate from the bedroom. The paintings on the walls and ceiling were a good surprise. Apparently all the rooms are painted differently.
- Jesus (10/5): - Reasonable very clean
- Edna (1/5): Bad - We learned there were many transients there so we did not stay and we could not cancel. I may not use booking. Com as often any more.
- Maricela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maricela (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and the stuff it’s really nice and the rooms are really clean
- Christopher (8/5): Very comfortable clean spacious room - Not the best location or front desk situation, but room was very big, clean, and comfortable. Much better on inside than it appears on outside Location seems a little sketchy
- Francisco (8/5): Very good -
- Alondra (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was clean Outside of the parking lot there was a homeless person I was kinda scared. Other than that everything was fine
- Emma (10/5): Delightful gem - The motel was lovely. The room was clean, smelled wonderful and the pillows were amazing. The ceiling of the room had the night sky painted on it and there was a switch on the wall that allowed you to see it by turning on a black light discreetly tucked behind the tv. The ONLY drawback was not the fault of the motel - the area has a high transient population and they were aggressive when not given cigarettes they requested. City police need to do a better job of moving them along.
- Ericka (3/5): Not suitable for a family with children. - I appreciated the art work and the receptionist was nice. Thin walls, you can hear every car, and people even in the street. Sketchy neighborhood. I’m pretty sure there was drug deals going down specially when one of the neighbors asked by husband if he had any drugs. Not suitable for a family with small children. Bed was uncomfortable. There was no hot water in the sink until the next morning and the toilet water kept running. Not sure why it had such good ratings.
- Sarah (8/5): Clean and friendly. - Friendly staff(Abi). A lot of care has gone into refurbishing these rooms. Even the ceiling had a lovely sky mural.
Pillows odd (very thick and hard) but otherwise all well done. A bit of street noise accompanied the central location.
- Adan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stefan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Zeyad (10/5): Always a fantastic stay! - Beautiful rooms and great service always!
- Misael (9/5): Superb -
- Matthew (7/5): Good -
- Jennifer (9/5): I would stay again - Close to amenities, free parking, room was fairly clean, decent price, accomodating with late check-in. Hair on bed sheet, some parking spaces are tight and overlap, hot water at sink faucet didn't work well, Washington St. is noisy at times
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel - Clean and quiet place. Did not have coffee pot in room and no way to plug tub to use. Bring your own blow dryer and conditioner.
- Olivia (8/5): Very good -
- Bundoc (10/5): Perfect Stay! - I travel alot and I have certain things that I need in a place to crash...Escondido Inn had most of them! The biggest thing is...It was exceptionally clean...The bed was firm but it had a topper so it made for a very comfortable night of sleep! The bathroom was big and the shower had great water pressure...The toilet had an assisted flush and although it was noisy it flushed great! The king bed had bedside tables on both sides with plugs which was important because me and my hubby both have CPAP machines...Both sides also had sconces with the switch reachable while you're laying bed! Epic! There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room which was great for leftovers...The office supplied us each with a bottle of water...nice touch! The TV was perfect and the A/C worked great! If you like frigid sleeping, this is the place for you! The place had wood shutters and it was very dark and even though the area was slightly sketchy...it was amazingly quiet! I also like the LVP flooring because I always wonder how clean the carpeting is in hotels...The ceiling and headboard wall had lovely murals that was very serene...I liked this place alot! The pillows were not perfect...overstuffed and hard as bricks...in all fairness, we didn't ask if they had alternative pillows because we drove to SD and we had our own pillows with us...We were happy we did that! There is 4 hooks on the wall...no closet, no hangers...No drawers to put your stuff...We had to keep our stuff in the suitcase...there wasn't a suitcase stand so our suitcase had to lay on the floor...Small things but you can tell someone tried to make this room as comfortable as possible so it was fine...
- Rémi (7/5): Within expectations -
- William (9/5): Nice -
- Dan (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Alanwilson (10/5): - Really nice comfortable rooms
- Alanwilson (10/5): - I like the place
- Daniel (10/5): Convenient. - Very clean. The shower was excellent, and the location was great. Nothing.
- Guiana (8/5): Very good - The legal disclaimer (with deposit) that we had to sign. It said we would be responsible for any theft at the motel and the hotel would not be responsible. It made me feel very unsafe. On speaking with the one hotel staff/owner(?), I can understand where they are coming from. This one staff person was on site, on the job 24hr, all 3 nights we were there. It helped me relax being able to identify him and go to him with any questions or just to greet him! I appreciated his presence!
- Sosa (9/5): Superb - The cleaning
- Jakubiszen (7/5): Good -
- Deanna (8/5): Very good -
- Diana (9/5): Good stay for 2 nights - Location, cleanness, free parking spot for one car.
- Pedleton (10/5): - Great
- Juan (9/5): Superb - Everything except the pillows The pillows
- Verified traveler (4/5): Horrid bed but clean and spacious - This is a roadside motel. Whole clean and spacious, it was the single worst bed I’ve ever (not) slept on, bumpy and with springs in my back. There is nowhere to put any clothes but if that’s not a concern then you should be fine.
- Dan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Vitalii (9/5): Superb -
- Shirley (9/5): Superb - Our room was very clean and spacious with pretty nice decoration. Pretty well kept property and staff was helpful. The AC unit had a bit of dusty smell for a little while when we turned it on.
- Anita (9/5): Had a very comfortable stay. Were very happy and will stay again. - Good, clean place with extremely helpful and friendly staff. Location is excellent too. Good sized room and very comfortable beds. A microwave and coffee machine would have been great.
- Kimberly (7/5): Pretty good for a low budget room - Front office is always locked probably due to many homeless in area. Front desk clerk was wonderful.
The room was small and mostly clean with a small refrigerator and a small freezer. Building is just across from a big modern apartment building. Parking is adequate but not fenced and parking lot is clean. The room was small and recently updated but not in an attractive way in my opinion. Bed was firm but the pillows were huge and uncomfortable.. We asked for smaller pillows and they were provided. It was quiet for sleeping.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely - The only problem we experienced was the uncomfortable pillows. Otherwise, a beautiful location.
- Allen (9/5): Superb - Location and cleanliness. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
- Kenneth (7/5): Good - The room was good. The disturbance during night time one of the nights.
- mark (10/5): - Very clean. Room was completely updated.
- Tomas (10/5): Would definitely come back and stay - The place was clean and cozy. We (2ppl)had 2 night stay. The room had its own personal touch which we appreciated. Access to restaurants, grocery markets, convenience stores. City location is calm.
- Enrique (10/5): - Clean, very nice inside, The painting of the ceiling and walls made it classy
- Jim (7/5): Probably best choice for Wildlife Zoo - easy enough to get to from Escondido transit center and to use Lyft to get to zoo room was noisy despite earplugs. jacuzzi room above bumped around til after 2 a.m.
location was on a busy corner and restaurants all a 10 min. walk or more away
- Yolanda (8/5): Would stay again - Very clean, attractive room, very reasonable. Stayed one night. Pillows a little to hard for my liking. Should add one softer pillow. Would book again.
- Debbie (10/5): - I will be staying here at least once a month when I travel to town
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful Motel - Best motel I've ever found for this price. The rooms are very clean and have cute themes.
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
