- tonigA1857QI (10/5): Beyond exceptional stay - I really can say enough about this hotel. The service was beyond exceptional. I need a handicapped room and it was not on my reservation. Jacob found one from an almost packed hotel. It, however, was only hearing impaired. He promptly, efficiently, nicely got me the most spacious handicapped room I’ve seen. After the first night I talked to Shay, a manager, I told her the mattress was too low. She had a maintenance man put another mattress on top of the existing one. It was perfect. The breakfast was very good. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again and again. Also, easy access and in a nice area.

Plesant, SC. You're 15 minutes to Charleston, 15 minutes to Isle of Palms beach, 10 minutes to Sullivan's Island, less than 10 minutes to the Ft. Sumter ferry, minutes away from lots of restaurants and grocery stores.

- skyeport (8/5): Clean and comfortable and great location if you have a car - We had a very comfortable stay. The hotel felt very nondescript and had zero character, but was very affordable compared to the very nice hotels in downtown Charleston. For this trip, I was more interested in price and convenience. With a car tt is very easy to get to downtown Charleston and other sites of interest from Mt. Pleasant. The room was very clean and quiet. It was spacious as well, including a large walk in closet. I wish there had been a wet bar by the coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. The breakfast was good with plenty of options. Plenty of great restaurants nearby. I didn't see many staff while I was there but they seemed pleasant enough.

- None501 (2/5): Unacceptable room conditions and dismissive management - I have stayed at this property more than 25 times over the last 3 years, and as a Marriott Platinum member for over 25 years, I am very familiar with what reasonable service should look like. This stay fell far below that standard. At nearly $400 per night, the room was musty, hot, and humid from the beginning. When we arrived, we dropped off our belongings, adjusted the thermostat from 74 to 68, and left for a Charleston Battery game. When we returned, the room was still 74 degrees and just as uncomfortable. Despite that, staff initially tried to suggest that we had somehow caused the problem by freezing the air conditioner, which made no sense given how little time we had even spent in the room. We then had to wait about an hour for maintenance, and after maintenance arrived, we had to remain out of the room for another hour while the issue was addressed. That is an unacceptable disruption for a guest paying this rate. To make matters worse, I had two young children with me who were exhausted after the game. What made the experience far worse, however, was the way it was handled by management. Whitney was dismissive, interruptive, patronizing, and consistently more focused on talking over me than understanding the actual issue. The reason I was calling was simple: I wanted to make sure my card was not being charged an additional fee for the room, since I had already paid the deposit. I had received around 10 folios by email and was trying to determine which one was actually correct. Instead of listening long enough to understand that, she repeatedly interrupted me to tell me everything the hotel had already done for me. If she had taken a moment to let me explain the concern before launching into a defense of the property’s actions, I would have been far more appreciative. It was only after I repeatedly asked her to stop interrupting me and let me explain the problem that she finally seemed to understand what I was actually asking. Her tone throughout the conversation was rude and condescending. At one point, she said, “Are you done? May I speak now?” She also insisted that I was yelling, placed me on hold so I could “calm down,” and hung up on me twice. That is not professional customer service under any circumstance. It is especially unacceptable when a guest is trying to resolve a legitimate billing concern after an already miserable stay. She also incorrectly argued that I was booked for two nights when I had confirmation that I was booked for one night. Later, she told me the charge was a credit and that it would take between 5 and 10 days to appear back in my account. When I responded that I would give it 14 days, she said, “We have no way of knowing when it will show back up in your account.” Of course, I am completely aware that the hotel cannot control my bank’s processing time, but that response was needlessly argumentative. If you tell a guest 5 to 10 days and the guest says they will allow 14, the appropriate response is not a more negative attitude. Yes, the hotel ultimately comped half the room rate and provided extra points, but that does not excuse the way this was handled. Compensation does not erase being blamed for a room issue, talked over, patronized, put on hold to “calm down,” hung up on, and forced to work far too hard just to get a straightforward answer about billing. Mechanical issues can happen in any hotel. What should not happen is a loyal repeat guest being treated with disrespect and impatience by management. After more than 25 stays at this property, this was easily one of the worst service experiences I have had. The room conditions were bad enough. The dismissive, argumentative, and condescending response from management made it far worse. After more than 25 stays at this property, this experience made one thing very clear: the hotel may be willing to offer points or partial compensation, but management has no idea how to treat loyal guests with basic respect.

We were so thankful that they accommodated our request for a room next to the stairwell as we were bringing our dogs and would need to take them out often. We were very happy about that! Our bathroom sink was slowly draining all week. We weren’t too bothered by it but it definitely needed to be unclogged so we told the staff before we left so they could haw it fixed before other guests came. We also wished that the front office lady during our check in would have told us about the keycard usage for the elevators. We didn’t have to do that last year and with it being a new system we just thought they were broken at first. That should have been said at check in.

- Izabel (6/5): It’s fine for couples days - The people at the reception were nice, the breakfast was more or less decent, the location was good. There is a huge parking lot which is great. The rooms are also large. the beds were terribly hard, the pillows were not comfortable, there were hairs in the bed and on the towels from other people, we found a few seeds on the ground, the hairdryer was terribly dirty, I cleaned it before using it.

- 807DavidG807 (10/5): Easy drive into.Charleston and less money too. - We were going to the Gaillard center for a midweek concert and our friends recommended this hotel. Just off the Ravenel bridge and an easy drive into Charleston. Friendly, well trained staff with a basic hot and continental breakfast, good coffee. Rooms are well laid out, comfortable king bed, great shower. Somehow my wife gets the big soft towel and I get the scratchy one. Pricing is much better than similar hotels in tiwn.

- Tracey Moore (9/5): This hotel and it's staff (primarily Maya) was superior. - The check in process was kind and thoughtful. We had traveled a long way through poor weather to get there. Maya, the wonderful woman that checked us in was extremely professional and sweet at the same time. She deserves a raise as she is fantastic. The room was just right; clean, roomy, and the bed was super comfy. Location in the Mount Pleasant area of Charleston was a plus too. We really can't think of any negatives.

- llzaa (10/5): Awesome Stay - I want to highlight an employee named Maya who was working the evening shift at this Marriott location on 12/18 during check-in. She is the textbook reason why I continue to stay at Marriott when I travel as a platinum elite Bonvoy member. She went above and beyond for my family and I’m eternally grateful for her kind hospitality. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was delicious. The location was stellar. We will absolutely stay here again when we’re back in town.

Her smiles and passion showed that she is very proud of what she does. (Whoever came up with idea of serving brisket as a side for scrambled eggs - hat's off to you!) The location is very convenient to downtown Charleston. Literally 10 minutes from the hotel to the heart of downtown. The hotel was clean, and the front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

- Deborah (8/5): Well located property in Mount Pleasant - Reasonably price property near Charleston proper Room was pretty soundproof. Beds, as well as pillows were comfortable. Being able to park in a structure and go directly to your floor from the elevator was a great convenience. Appreciated printed map and tour book of the area. many restaurants and shops nearby. Free parking on property. Property and rooms are starting to feel a little tired. The sliding glass door to the bathroom is opaque, so if you turn on the light to use it during the night, you risk waking another person.

- Stacey Weaks (1/5): Paid for room and charged to card: was told to leave because of clerical error, and very upset - Breakfast staff, shower, living room I paid for a room and it was booked in November accidentally…when I brought this to attention of front desk, they asked me to make a second reservation and they would refund the original reservation. I needed another night and called the department to move the reservation to 9/10/25-9/11/25. Only half of the process was done. The department showed me as active check in, but front desk showed capacity and no availability. As the email was not forwarded to front desk (part 2) I was told to leave the property, even though room 616 or 615 (unclear of room # now) was held as mine. I spent the night in my Jeep, even though my room had been paid. Now my Mom is awaiting a refund and I will never use Marriott again if can be helped. I have asked for help during that time to change an old email associated with my Marriott Rewards account and have never received a call or email of assistance back. No longer pleased nor do I feel valued by Marriott: and do not reward bad business behavior with my good business.

- U5791XMbene (6/5): Poor operations and not clean - Great location. Unfortunately they need better management. Your staff and operations are a reflection of your leader and all the issues we had lead back to poor management. Upon checking in we found the front desk to be short handed with only one person working on 4th of July weekend, plus I overheard travel ball baseball teams were there as well. When we finally checked into our room we found it had not been cleaned well. We even found a used stained washcloth at the edge of the mattress which should have been found “IF” they actually changed the sheets. Front desk lady was extremely apologetic and moved us to another room next floor up. The elevators were slow due to so many people there so we used the stairs. Bad part is the doors to the stairs from the bottom floor were locked. Their GM later emailed me that this wasn’t his fault and couldn’t believe they were locked. Next afternoon my daughter called down to ask for more towels because they only had 2 in the bathroom and Miya told her she would have to come get them then hung up on her. My daughter went down and she asked her how many towels and my daughter told her 5. She stopped and rudely said 5? Why? But then walked away to get them. A day after checking out I received an alert of an extra charge on my card. I called the hotel and Miya couldn’t tell me why or what the charge was. She hardly would allow me to talk so I asked for the GM to call me back on Monday. She told me I would just need to call him that she couldn’t leave him a message. So I emailed Kyle (GM) asking him to please calk me about some issues. He never called he only emailed with excuses. I even replied back “thank you for the call”.

We had called one month before to request a pack n play for our 7 month old and verified the day before that a pack n play would be available. Upon check in, there was not one in our room. The person at the front desk (the ONLY person working there with a fully booked hotel?!? What is Marriott thinking??) could not find any pack n plays and said there was no notes on our reservation even though we had called twice. They called their boss (because again, they were the only person working a fully booked hotel over Memorial Day weekend??) and their boss said they had 3 pack n plays and they had all been checked out so we had no pack n play. They said that we were welcome to go to another hotel but still pay for our room since we had already checked in. My sister called another Marriott in the area to ask if we could borrow a pack n play and they kindly accommodated, but we had to drive 25 minutes to pick it up. The person at the other Marriott said it was strange that the boss at our Marriott didn’t offer to call them to see if they had a pack n play (literally my sister called!) since they try and help each other out. This is just the tip of the iceberg from that night. The stories we heard from other guests while waiting in the lobby - guest was given a room somebody else was already in. Daughters walked in and somebody else was already there. Someone asked for a towel and was told there was no room service but they could come down and get an old towel. Wild. DO NOT STAY HERE and Marriott what are you thinking having one poor person staff the entire booked out hotel??
- mlhabh (10/5): Great place to stay in Mount Pleasant, SC - We stayed here May 13-16. Check-in was quick and efficient but keep in mind that the office is on the second floor, so take the elevator up, check in, then if needed grab a luggage cart on the first floor and load it up. We were in our suite in no time. The suite was spacious enough to spread out in with a partition between the sitting room and the king-sized bed. Everything was clean. They offer a 24/7 mini-market stocked with snacks and drinks. Breakfast is served from 7:00-9:30 on the second floor. This is a pretty decent place to stay and is just off HWY 17 once you cross the bridge from Charleston to Mount Pleasant. I would recommend this.

Prefer that over a dresser. Just needed to add a light in the closet. Room had plenty of hooks/towel bar for hanging towels. Breakfast everyday was nice. I liked how they added/changed a new item from day to day. The young man at the front desk was very nice and greeted us everyday when we walked by. We loved the hotel location. It was very easy to go into Charleston. We even biked there from the hotel. Also biked to Sullivan Island and Isle of Palms. Both are very beautiful. Very good Restaurants are in the area as well. Loved Vicious Biscuit and Santi's Mexican Restaurant. Wish we had time to eat there again. Only thing the room needed was a light in the closet. And a bike rack in the covered garage parking area would be nice. We had to lock our bikes up to a pipe.
