Guest Reviews
- Gerald (6/5): - The motel is in a great location, close to restaurants and shops, & gas. Needs better maintenance. Needs room darkening shades!
- Julianne (8/5): - The room was nicely remodeled and clean. Staff was super friendly.
- Sandra (10/5): - It's an older hotel but it was clean and worked well for our needs. Very convenient and walkable to restaurants. As most older hotels it does not have an elevator which does make it more difficult if you're an older person having to haul heavy luggage up the stairs but it would not prevent me from staying here again. The staff was friendly as well.
- Ann (10/5): Great place! - Convenient location, great guy at desk, comfy bed, clean room.
Only issue was the upstairs guests walked all night, and sounded like they were stomping. Other than that, wonderful
- 695kennetho (10/5): Surprisingly Nice! - Totally Satisfied. We Stayed at a major chain the day before which was not a god experience in many ways. So the next day we checked into the Virginian Inn. What a difference. Very Clean, nicely Decorated, and the Front Office Staff was very Nice and Helpful. --Did I mention Reasonably Priced! Right in the Middle of Town. We did a 10 Day Trip, (10 Motel/Hotel Stays), this Independent had the most Comfortable Bed of all other Stops. Next Time we are in Moab, We are staying Here!
- Luc (8/5): - Bon prix
- Brian (8/5): - Staff was friendly and helpful. When I checked I asked for a first floor room. But person suggested a 2nd floor because I was staying a week because it would be quite. Was a great suggestion. I slept and rested well. I would definitely stay here again. Walking distance to everything you need.
- Wayne (8/5): - Good value in great location but old facility.
- David (6/5): - Clean room. Dated.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Had everything we needed with some vintage charm. Loved it. Moab was a blast and everything is walkable from the motel.
- Maya (10/5): - Front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. Very clean and in a central, nice location to walk to eat etc. Off the main Street enough to avoid traffic noise.
- Heather (6/5): - A great location downtown, but also old establishment.
- Yolanda (10/5): Fit the Need - One night stay- close to everything.. good shower, hot water! Comfy bed, clean sheets.. back window shades were broken off .. is someone wanted to look through the window , they could.. I used a chip bag clip to clip a hand towel up to cover the opening.. no bigge, hey I paid less than 90$ bucks..
- grega277 (2/5): Steer clear of the Moab Utah Virginian motel my I recommend Rustic inn great locals that understand normal people and th - Unsympathetic hard to deal with front desk personnel blames their ignorance on others! mistakes were made on my behalf because of my booking site not to name names because they made it good thanks to them, but on the Virginian hotel motel in Moab, Utah personal who I’ve dealt with before I know who they are took over from a really nice lady that operated for years on end.
Never a high-quality hotel motel but good location and now it’s run down more than it’s ever been before. That’s what happens to businesses that new management takes over he doesn’t know what they’re doing or how to deal with the public. I own businesses my own life. No one ever lost money on me. I made it right even if it’s their fault because the customer is always right and should be in most cases, especially honest people that help make this country what it is. I’m gonna make it my mission to let everybody know the Virginia hotel in Moab. I’m not gonna say their thieves, but you take something for nothing on a mistake On booking. unsympathetic and very hard to deal with. I said some angry words and meant every one of them..
- Teryle (8/5): - Places close to eat.
- Robert (10/5): Great budget hotel - I found the hotel very comfortable, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The price was great and it is a budget hotel. If this is what you’re looking for it is perfect. It is right in the middle of town and you can walk to everything.
- Leonardo (10/5): - Very good place to stay! The location is the best and the price is usually pretty good
- Rodger (10/5): - Very pleasant gentlemen at the front desk. Helped me fix a date I’d booked incorrectly.
- Philip (10/5): - Nice room and very clean 😀
- Scott (8/5): - Spacious and comfortable and quiet room, fast wifi, everything works
- Amber (10/5): - The room was affordable and the receptionist was super friendly! The room was very clean and just what we needed for a quick nights stay. Would definitely come back again.
- Arofnas (8/5): - Good small mote, location is strategic, near from other public space
- Carole (2/5): - The management painted the bathtub and sink white instead of replacing them. The tub was so slippery that I was scared to shower in it. Additionally, the clock and the Keurig weren't plugged in, but the plugs were behind heavy, large furniture, so no coffee for me!!!!
The room was cheap, and I see why. Next time, I'll pay more for a decent place. You get what you pay for.
- harri (6/5): - The location is great. It's right by Moab hustle and bustle. We are not impressed by the AC though. But maybe because it was July, the summer heat is real. Other than that, it's perfect.
- Verified traveler (6/5): New flooring = recently renovated??? - Hotel was suitable for an overnight stay. After reading reviews stating that property was recently renovated, I expected the room to be in better condition. Flooring was new, but that was the only update to the room that I could find. If you go into the motel with the right expectations, im sure its just fine, especially for the price.
- kristine (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay
- JASON (10/5): - Great location right in downtown Moab, walking distance to the Main Street district. Rate was reasonable & affordable.
- jeff (6/5): - Picnic area nothing like photo , grass and weeds 10” high , garbage all over , fridge froze all our food salad and berrys frozen wasted . Bed area was clean nothing impressive . Bathroom could use some TLC . motel exterior pretty run down , ratings shown don’t seem to match what was there .
- Daniel (10/5): - Nice walking path along river, convenient access to restaurants
- Lisa (8/5): - We stayed 3 nights. The Moab Diner is about 60 feet away, and it was fantastic! The Virginian is an easy walk or drive to all the tourism available in Moab.
- Daniel (10/5): - Close proximity to various restaurants and walking trail for dog
- Kenneth (4/5): - The 100.00 pet charge non refundable is way to high limited tv the uncomfortable furniture very poor for the money
- diane (8/5): Visiting Arches - Good location. Large room, comfortable bed, fridge and microwave.
- Ana (10/5): - Friendly staff, spacious rooms and very clean, we love the coffee maker and the microwave, perfect location!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Standard basic hotel.
- Sharee (8/5): Virginian Motel review - Enjoyed our stay very much. Met our expectations exactly.
Exactly what we needed and located in an excellent part of the city, very convenient and close to everything we required. We would stay there again. Good value for the money.
- Traci (10/5): - Very close to restaurants and stores.
Needs more parking.
- Charlene (10/5): - It has been beautifully remodeled. I recommend
- KELLY (10/5): - Easy check-in. Gentleman at the front desk was helpful and friendly. Very convenient to restaurants, outdoor providers, and bars.
- Tony (8/5): - Friendly
- Kenneth (8/5): - It was nice
- David (10/5): My favorite hotel - I always stay here when I am in Moab. I have for years. It is under new management The guy at the front desk was very helpful and extremely friendly. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. No complaints. Still my favorite place in Moab, very reasonable prices
- Dale (8/5): - Great place,
- Thom (8/5): served our needs perfectly - We were spring break-travelling and wanted a place near Arches National Park. For the price, this place provided a comfortable and convenient place to stay. The property is older but has been updated. It's located right downtown Moab, which is wonderful. Cant beat this place for the great rate
- Steven (8/5): - Desk clerk was friendly! Bathroom exhaust fan was too loud.
- HARSH (8/5): Great overall hotel in Moab! - Wonderful experience staying at the Virginian hotel in Moab. Great value for the money. Huge room, very clean, excellent bed. My only issue - and the reason I am not giving 5 stars - the was with the structural quality. Every step, however light, was coming through the ceiling so loud and would vibrate my room. Thus caused major disruption to my sleep.
- Rebecca (2/5): - I reserved a room at 1 hotel for 2 nights. Was switched to another hotel because something was wrong with a window. Was sent to a place that had a restaurant attched to it and the back door was at my front door. Went to the original place the second night. Our room was at the base of metal stairs, you can hear every move from the people up above us and when ever someone came in to the parking lot the car light went right into the window. And this morning i realized we had no towels. The employee was helpful as much as he could be. Not going to try again there.
- Daniel (8/5): - Shower head is mounted way too low....other than that, all good.
- Thomas (10/5): I like it! - Good place to stay
- David (6/5): - Shower was warm but not really hot.
- Treesa (10/5): - This is our favorite hotel in Moab and we stay here every time we visit. It's not the fanciest but it is clean and has all the amenities. If you need more, just ask the front desk. It is right across from the Moab Diner-our favorite place to eat in Moab. Very budget friendly and fantastic malts! The hotel is on a dead-end street which means low traffic. If you know Moab, the tourist season traffic can be horrific! The Virginian also backs the river which includes a river walking path. The Staff are friendly and a joy to visit with. You can easily walk to downtown shopping. Enjoyed a really great experience!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No staff onsite. Virtual checkin. Put MS in the way back of the motel, no cars in the parking lot. Room worn. Chose ti get a room elsewhere.
- Henry (8/5): - Great location downtown half a block from the main drag, but backed against a park so it was nice and quiet. Clean room but next bathroom upgrade, install some grab bars, folks. Not everyone is 25.
- Reece (10/5): - Great stay everything was very nice and clean
- TONY (10/5): - This was a huge surprise for 76.00 we were unsure of what we were gonna get.
It was super clean and very quiet. Highly recommend
- Tammy (8/5): - They have done some upgrades, paint, room clean, comfy bed. great place to rest your head
- Savannah (4/5): - Decor and room were cozy and clean but there was a big crack in the ceiling above the shower that was consistently leaking water and plaster. When we realized it, no one was around at the front desk to even discuss it with.
- Kristina (10/5): - I enjoyed staying at the Virginian. The rooms are big and can hold your mountain bikes.
- Susan (8/5): Pretty good for a two star hotel - Firm comfortable bed, spacious, tv (cable only) on the small side. Most king rooms are on the first floor. The location is great, close to mill creek path and Main Street. Dog fee was $15 per night.
- Ying (2/5): - Terrible experience! I have travelled all over the states, stayed in many different hotels/motels. This by far is the worst one ever.
Four of us got here after eight at night, a man checked us in. Found shower drain clogged up, water raised to ankle deep within two minutes, dirt and hair back floating from the drain. Called front desk. Waited 40 minutes, a handyman came with a plunger, for about 2-3 minutes he left; said he would be back in ten minutes with tools. We waited another 40 minutes but no one came back, then we called again about the problem. A female answered, gave us a runaround:“handyman said the drain is fixed.” “I don’t know about this…” “we’re full, no open room…”“manager not here, I’ll text him…” “have to wait till tomorrow…” Nothing was done. It was definitely a frustrating night for us fighting the drain all night. Unfortunately we had booked two nights here.
The next morning we came to the front desk, expressed our frustration and request for room change or a refund for the second day. Man at the desk was who checked us in the night before. He did not at all seem sorry about what happened last night. He insisted that the shower was fine because handyman said so, and we are the ones who are nuisance, being unreasonable. He refused to switch rooms nor to refund us. During the conversation, he became hostile and yelled at us,”Shut up! No one else is complaining but you!” “No refund! If you don’t want to stay, just leave!”
I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!!!!!
- Tim (8/5): - Good location
- Michael (8/5): - Convenient location.
- Michelle (10/5): - Loved staying here! Very convenient! Thank you!
- Ernest Egerton (8/5): - Liked the bike clean and car clean station
- Verified traveler (6/5): - An older motel. Sink outside of toilet and shower area, a plus for us.
- Alice (10/5): - Such a quaint place. We enjoyed taking our pup to the outside patio/bar and loved the food and drinks at The Big Texas.
- Sally von (6/5): - Very old, only stairs to carry bags up to second floor. Difficult for 2 ladies in their 70's. Guess we learned something on this one.
- Charles (8/5): - Perfect location at center of town everything is walking distance. The outside of the building is showing its age, but the new renovations are nice.
- James (8/5): Good place to stay - The room was clean. Had good amenities. The refrigerator was not the greatest you could turn it for 2 hrs then off for 8 hrs, no other choices. The lower level had a little plumbing issue but was handle in a reasonable amount of time. Over all I would stay here again.
- Walter (4/5): - Room was in poor condition. Bathroom sink was scared and dirty. Not worth price.
- Ron (2/5): - Our bed had hair in the sheets, bathtub & sink. The floor was not swept or washed. The management was not willing to spend 30 minutes to clean up the room. Instead they offered us a lesser room to stay in, stating that the cleaning staff would not be there until the next day. In the replacement room we were given, 2 of the plug outlets were not functioning, so we had to unplug the main night lamp in order to use our cpap sleeping machines. One of the outlets was so loose we thought it may be a fire hazard.
- Brian (8/5): - Room was very clean, maid service every day. Don’t park under the trees in the back, the birds “painted” my jeep overnight and could barely see through windshield and had to take it to car wash.
- Ben (6/5): - We rented 2 rooms and both had problems with the toilets not flushing properly. One room had no shower curtain. The bed spreads needed cleaning too. The office staff was friendly and the bed was comfortable. Overall the room.was clean.
- Geraldine (8/5): - Looked like sketchy area, but right around the corner was downtown!!
- lisa (4/5): Not as nice as pictures portrayed - Long hair left in tub, on the floor and in drawer with towels. Only upside was they made bed up daily. Air conditioning quit working on second night. Short had a leak spraying out the wall. Ran out of regular coffee and no ice bucket was ever delivered.
- Douglas (4/5): - There was a hole in the wall next to bathroom sink that had plaster glopped into it. There was a water leak in the wall above the shower that was creating a bulge in the paint.
- Janet (10/5): - Convenient location. Very good rooms with everything we need. Comfy bed.
- Kimberley (10/5): - Thanks for an amazing stay and see you again!
- TERRY (10/5): - Walking distance to any place you'd want to go very clean
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice stay - The hotel is older, but very clean and comfortable, and within walking distance to food and shopping. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The air in our room was not working and they quickly moved us to another room.
- Laxmi Priya (10/5): - Excellent
- Rahul (10/5): - Spacious and super clean.
- P J R M (8/5): - 4 night stay. Very convenient location. Value for mony. Very friendly staff.
- Peggy (8/5): - The man who checked us in was there again the next morning and again the next night and morning. He was not the owner. A hard working gentleman, very nice, he made sure we got a ground floor room as requested.
- Diane (10/5): - Very nice people! Clean & quiet even though it is only a 1/2 block from the major road and highway.
- Scott D (4/5): - The room was ran down and nothing like the picture shown on the web site. I've stayed here a few times through the years and was always satisfied until now. This will be the last time I stay at The Virginian Motel for sure.
- Will (8/5): - Customer service was great and price was great but the AC to the room was terrible. Overall experience was good and the Moab Diner right next door was great! If you need a cooler room for a good sleep I would look else where. If you can stand a bit warmer room then you’re good!
- Mark (10/5): - Was going into the National park, and go to the hotel 3 hrs prior to check in. They were still cleaning the room. We were able to get the keys to the room and put our stuff in later since the office closes at 10 pm. They do have a kiosk you can check in with as well if it’s after hours. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Would stay again for sure.
- Joann (10/5): Nice & small - It was a nice room for the price and parking near our room was easy
- Dawn (10/5): - Excellent value for money! My ground floor King room was spacious and clean with lots of lighting, surfaces to put stuff on, and plugs for electronics, etc. There was a handy mini fridge and microwave. They’ve done a nice job updating an older property and even had a spot outside with water & hose where I was welcome to rinse off my car!
- SUHIRDPREET (10/5): - Great place if you are traveling on a budget. The room was decent size. The beds were super comfy. Pillows and sheets were exceptionally clean. Highly recommended 👍👍👍
- Tanya M (8/5): - Very clean for an older motel. Pet friendly and has a neat little sports equipment and doggy washing area. Located right next to a river/ walking path. Access to ice.
Expedia was a bit misleading - it mentioned breakfast provided.
We arrived at 4 am....an unexpected delay and they had an electronic kiosk serviced by a real person to check us in and create room keys. In the check in area that were extra toiletry supplies and information brochures.
- Loraine (10/5): - Could have used a light switch and an outlet by the bed, otherwise everything was good
- John (8/5): - This modest hotel is in downtown Moab, so lots of walkable dining/shopping. The room was large and clean, with all hard-surface floors. (which was good because the whole area is gritty with red sand). The hair dryer didn't work and the floor lamp had a burned out bulb. We stayed three nights, and the first day the maid did not come. When I went to the lobby to get fresh towells, I told them. The next day the room was cleaned and the hair dryer and lamp were fixed, so they did respond well to my requests. Clean-quiet-low priced.
- Patrick (8/5): - upgrade room in a motel.
- Christie Mae (10/5): - The room was very clean and has microwave and fridge. The location was convenient to restaurants, gas station and stores, walkable to everything. There was ice machine too which was a bonus. We brought an ice cooler since we were going to Arches National Park. The only thing that could have made it a perfect stay was the coffee maker, it was broken. Other than that, ot was still an excellent stay!
- Darren (8/5): - It was simple and clean. Good location. The AC worked, but made irregular noises.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value motel in Moab - Spacious room and clean. A/C was really working hard as daytime temperature was almost 100. Really our only issue was the noise of the A/C unit which ran continuous all night. Everything else was perfect.
We stayed one night at The Virginian Motel.
- Madison (8/5): - Incredible location. Property is a bit older but the rooms seem to have been remodeled well.
- Daniel (10/5): - pet friendly and walking distance to several eating options
