Guest Reviews
- MAEVA (10/5): -
- David (9/5): - The location is fantastic, set on a quiet side street very near the town centre. The room was clean and a nice size, perfect for my stay. The rooftop is a nice place for a quiet coffee. The front door is strangely designed, so it's hard to get in and out, especially with a big suitcase. After a few attempts, you'll develop a technique!
- Oliver (10/5): Unique stay in the heart of Tavira, definitely recommend! - Was a wonderful traditional little place. All amenities was there and a unique vibe to it. Overall lovely! Only issue I would say is the smell of the drains but only noticeable if you used the sink in the kitchen. Personally wasn’t really an issue.
- Matt (10/5): Meant to stay one night. Stayed two nights!! - Great location. Good facilities. Clean. Different in a positive way. All good bar wifi a little weak.
- Matt (10/5): Most enjoyable. - Great location. Comfortable and clean. Nothing.
- Lisa (8/5): Lovely decorated apartment located close to attractions in a quiet area of town. - Very central but quiet location within a residential area. The apartment is very well decorated. Close to attractions and the bed was comfortable. The AC in the bedroom and livingroom was nice to have. Having access to the shared terrace was a nice addition although other guests had left clothing out to dry. The shower could do with mold cleaner and the shower was blocked in which I have informed the owners about. A coffee machine was provided but not a single coffee pod provided. Although in a quiet location there are still cars that go down the road and the landtrain which causes a bit of noise. Carpark is close and we didn't have an issue get a space but could be a negative for some people. Kitchen is a bit cramped and it was hard to wash dishes without a drainage rack. The bathroom could do with storage or shelving for items.
- Paul (7/5): Apartment with character, enjoyed our short stay - The apartment was quite small but stylishly decorated and was fine for a few days. There was a small sunny balcony and a larger shared terrace was available. The host had pointed out free parking quite nearby which we used - we were able to stop briefly outside the apartment to unload our luggage first. The apartment is about 10 minutes walk down cobbled streets to the river and main square. We liked the small breakfast bar with kettle, toaster and coffee maker. The stairs up to the apartment were quite steep and not very easy with heavy luggage. Due to the shape of the roof of the aprtment it might be tricky if you were very tall (for example, over 6 feet).
- Rüdiger (9/5): - Die Lage des Studios und die kleine Terrasse.
- Kerstin (8/5): -
- Tammy (7/5): We did not pay much for this stay, and it was good for an overnight stay - The outside was very cute, location was good The room was tiny, difficult getting into bed as they was very little room on either side. No place to put our luggage
- Iustinian (10/5): -
- Celia (10/5): -
- mcleod (7/5): - Loved the privacy roof top balcony.
The bed very comfortable...and the decor cute There was no coffee pods for the machine to at least start your morning. Abit of a musty smell
- Heather (9/5): Perfect self-contained accommodation for 1-2 people for 1 week - Lovely (old stone) ground floor apartment with double bed, kitchenette and lounge with sofa bed and table that seats 4. Very comfortable for just me travelling solo. Hot water in shower comes quickly so there is little waste water. Well lit, plenty of sockets. I watched TV for Portuguese news on the world crisis. 10 mins walk down to the river with many places to eat. Location is half way up the hill from the bus station and halfway down the hill from the train station. I did both. Did a train trip to Cananas and went out on the Rio Gilhão and walked to Cuatro Águas and took ferry to Tavira Island for fish lunch. Trips are also available from the town quay. Loved breakfast at the French Boulangerie 2 mins walk away. I would definitely stay again There is a notice about not leaving food out but there is only a staff kitchen and there is no tin/plastic container provided. I left out a croissant when I first arrived and there was an amazing trail of ants to it when I got back. I had a rapid response from email (could have phoned) and an effective anti ant powder worked 100%. After that, I left any food stuff in the fridge!
- Gurshinder (10/5): -
- Wendy (9/5): Aangenaam verblijf voor enkele dagen - Mooie studio, practisch ingericht, fijne ligging Weinig handdoeken
- Juan Antonio (10/5): -
- Ninon (2/5): -
- Gema (7/5): - La cama
- Renata (8/5): -
- Anna-Franziska (10/5): -
- Anja (9/5): - Echt midden in t historisch centrum
Schoon
- Leif-Ole (7/5): -
- Vojtěch (9/5): - Útulný pokojík s vlastní koupelnou blízko centra města. Na krátkodobý pobyt zcela dostačující. Hodil by se odpadkový koš v pokoji
- Kelly (9/5): Close to centre and comfotable - It was in a central location.
- Danielle (10/5): - The situation
The decoration of the room, the colour scheme, the bedhead the lavender heart
The little terrace and the kitchen Nothing
- betty (9/5): A unique fun experience - Aesthetically beautiful top floor was fully renovated rustic charm I loved being in the room. The place is fun, next to castle ruins. A unique experience. The owner, once we were in was easy to reach and came quickly to fix and explain things . I would absolutely recommend it staying in such an old building had its quirks like Door locks sticking ceilings being too low in places for tall people
if you put A.C. on too high water pours out.The bathroom smells funny and For Us and one other couple not one answered the phone when we called to check in.
That said The owner could not have been more helpful.I'd stay again in a heart beat the place is off the hook fun charming and a perfect combination of old charm and modern.
- Fernandez (10/5): -
Molto rumore, porta d'ingresso e strada a livello dell'appartamento.
- M (6/5): Our stay had some great aspects but some issues made it less enjoyable than it could have been. - The location was centrally located and there was nearby, free parking. The studio was a beautiful space- very private with gorgeous views of the town. The terrace was perfect for quiet nights in and the bed was comfortable. They provided an extra duvet. Another nice touch was the tea and coffee provided complimentary. The check in was a little difficult- after the door code is entered, the door needs to be pulled before pushing it open and that wasn't included in our check-in information but I think that would be an easy addition. When we arrived, the shower curtain had a lot of mold on it which was disappointing and made us wonder how well the rest of the flat had been cleaned. They replaced the curtain the following day. I think there was an issue with the plumbing. For some reason all the drains in the flat smelled really terrible, like sewage. Finally, the air conditioning unit is located in the common area, not the sleeping area which might be important for some guests. It also leaked a TON when we had it on, all over a lamp that was plugged in under the AC unit, which is a hazard. We didn't use it again for the rest of our stay but it was a big part of the reason we booked this place over another, so other guests should be aware.
Gastvrijheid, welkomst gevoel. Mogelijkheid tot schone handdoeken.
- Leonor (3/5): -
- RitaDomingos (9/5): - Localização central, espaços do quarto e sala muito agradáveis
- Josie (8/5): - The studio is very well placed, a few minutes walk from the centre of Tavira and the ferry to the beach, but far enough from the centre to be undisturbed by the night time entertainment in the town. Both the bed and sofa bed were very comfortable. The studio is on a narrow cobbled street so the traffic noise was quite noticeable early in the mornings. It was probably louder for us as we were on the ground floor and may be quieter for the studios upstairs.
- Olga Martin (10/5): -
- Nishma (4/5): Expensive for what you get or don’t get ! - The property was located close to the centre of Tavira . For a superior double room , the place was small , the host was contactable via what’s app . The photos on booking .com do not reflect the true size or facilities available at this B&B.
- Jorge (7/5): -
- Gurshinder (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phoebe (9/5): A lovely, comfortable stay in the heart of Tavira - A lovely clean room, perfectly sized with a beautiful shared terrace! All good!
- Michael (9/5): Lovely apartment in lovely Tavira! - Lots of character , very private and comfortable and had all amenities we needed ! All good
- Robert (10/5): Would return anytime. - Beautiful, clean, cosy accommodation in a quiet alley, close walking distance to riverside restaurants and sight-seeing. Lovely to walk around the river at night. The check-in and check-out was the fastest and smoothest ever. Thank you!
- Nba (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carrie (9/5): Superb - Sweet small room, nice shared terrace. Host was lovely Pillows were not comfy and it was a bit smaller than anticipated.
- Rick (10/5): Warm, safe and a good vibe - The suite was exactly what we were looking for in Tavira. Great location close to the Tavira Castle, the Roman Bridge, restaurants and bars. Quaint and cozy, well appointed and Rui the owner was always there to make sure our stay was comfortable.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Filomena (9/5): Superb -
- John (4/5): Okay for a night if you can’t find anything better. - Location was good. Place is cheerfully decorated.
It’s clean and the shower was good. It’s a bit mean, with a late check in, small rooms and a small double bed, okay for one person, but two would be a tight fit. There are four lets in a small house, when full it will be noisy. There’s a kettle with a few manky old herbal tea bags. They don’t communicate, I only heard from them after I’d checked in. I felt tolerated, not welcomed.
- Richard (6/5): The place itself is nice. It desperately needs some attention. - Location. Views from patio. Furnishings need to be upgraded. Bedding needs to be upgraded. Kitchen is ok, but really……spend some money and buy some new dishes, cutlery etc.. $100.00 euro would really help, and make the place very nice.
- Eliana (9/5): Great accommodation - Cozy, clean, very central, helpful staff
- Coles (8/5): Very good -
- Neil (9/5): A wonderful city that has so much to see with fantastic restaurants, Ai Mae was our favourite. The beech is a must. - A comfortable stay in a fantastic location. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Could do with a small under table fridge for milk and an extension lead so the kettle can sit safely on the table, we had to put it on a chair or the floor to boil.
- Rosmary (10/5): Perfect for a family - The room was confortable and clean. It had its own terraza. Breakfast was included and was great with lots of options to chose from. Nothing
- Ian (10/5): Great location, nice setup in the apartment - Great location for us, managed to find parking in the area recommended. The apartment was on the top floor and enjoyed the space and privacy. Couldn't see much clothes cupboard space. It might be tough if staying more than a couple of days.
- Roger (3/5): Poor - the historical area had much charm. the bed was comfortable No one there.
It calls itself a B&B but there was no breakfast
It was terribly expensive at 130 Euros per night.
i was given the key by a very nice cleaning lady.
there was nowhere to unpack my things apart from a dining table
the bathroom was dirty - the skirting boards had not been cleaned for years. the WC was clean, but not if you looked carefully under the rim. i don't think the floor was clean.
- Jan (5/5): Great location to explore Tavira town, however property itself needs a refresh in some areas - Great location
Excellent air conditioning
Bed ok Toiletries = shower gel only
Cleaning products = dried up scrubby sponge
No safe or clothes drying rack found?
Just a couple of random tea bags in a tin.. not as pictured
Bathroom tiny, toilet recess very small
Bathroom bin dented and rusty
Shower floor needs soap residue cleaned off
- Luciano (2/5): Worst stay for your money - Location Came into the property and bumped my head against a very low unmarked staircase. No one was there to receive us or give it recommendations on the property and town, not the day we arrive not never.
Room was extremely small and uncomfortable for what we paid. Bed couldn’t fit two large people on it and I am 180. Bathroom did not had a paper toilet holder and toilet was stuck between shower and wall, imposible to be there for more than 2 minutes.
Overall, probably the worst place I’ve ever stayed for the buck, booking should be accountable and please don’t ever stay here.
- Mihaela (7/5): Pleasant stay in Tavira - The accommodation is in an excellent and quiet location in the city center. The room is pleasant with excellent (quiet) air conditioning. The room is very small and lacks wardrobes for clothes. When the house is fully occupied, there is also a problem with drying towels and swimsuits on the balcony. Since there are no hangers, things are dried over chairs and the terrace railings. There is only a small shelf in the bathroom as well.
- Sarah (8/5): Very good - Very good location and cozy interior. Bathroom was ok. Shower fixture could be renewed.
- Beatriz (9/5): Superb - Very cute and clean little room with all commodities necessary. . Nothing to note.
- Gillian (8/5): Very good - Location Beams in bedroom and toliet, anyone over 5.10” do not come
- Andrea (5/5): Too expensive for what you get - Nice property in a great location, close to the main square and with enough free parking around. The host was great, we met at the agreed time and handed us the keys. - Generally the room is too expensive for what it is, at half the price it would be ok
- The room is very small, the distance between the bed and the wall is about 20cm. To get off the bed, you need to walk to the end.
- The bathroom sometimes smells of drains and the shower has quite a bit of mould
- The bathroom window has no curtain or blinds so the bathroom gets really hot
- The towels were anything but soft
- There is little to no acoustic isolation: you can hear cars and especially other guests as if they were in your room
- There is a kettle but the power chord is so sort that you need to leave it on the floor
- No coffee is provided, just tea
- Robert (7/5): Good -
- Susan (7/5): The lone door on the street hides a wonderful retreat. - It is quaint. Very small, but bed was comfortable and there was storage for our clothes.
Look both way when stepping off the front porch as there is no sidewalk. You are in the street with passing cars (few that there were).
There was a lovely balcony on the 2nd floor to have breakfast or just relax. There was a breakfast restaurant just a few minute walk if you didn't want their breakfast. Advertised as B&B, but breakfast was only there if you paid extra and was just some breads, fruits and coffee.
Location did not lend itself to street parking. Found some 'Resident' parking nearby but most cars there did not have Resident sticker and police were not writing tickets. So use at your own risk, but we had no problems. In fact, I can't recall ever seeing Police in the city.
- Haj (7/5): We enjoyed our stay, but it is still too expensive for what it offers. - Hosts were responsive. Location was good. The access to the kitchen was not very smooth. I wished the room was a bit cleaner. There is no noise cancellation so sometimes it was very loud.
- Helen (4/5): I thought there was breakfast included, the photos on the website were misleading, to many rules - The room No meet and greet, no breakfast ,
- Michael (8/5): - Unique
- Jon (9/5): Superb -
- Carol (10/5): Perfect room for a couple of nights in a quiet part of Tavira - Easy check in.
Room was neat and clean and comfortable.
- Wilkinson (9/5): Really enjoyed our stay and would be very happy to stay again sometime. - Great location calm and not far from the old towm. Lovely place for those seeking authenticity and peace. Great stay, lovely well-organised space with a nice terrace to hang out for an hour or two between walks around the town. The side lights are - in my view- placed to far above the bed to facilitate reading. But really this is just a detail.
- Adrienne (7/5): Very nice stay - Location Weak WiFi
- Marien (4/5): disappointed after we read all the good reviews wonder who wrote these - Position Service haven't seen the owner or cleaners once got there with a quarter rol of toiletpaper for six days.
Studio not serviced once during our stay no clean towels or bedding even the dirtbin didn't get emptied started to smell pretty bad.
- Si (5/5): Uncomfortable stay during bad weather. - Good location It was cold and wet during our stay. The walls were damp and wet, the sink drains smelt and the lower patio flooded and had no where to drain.
It would have helped if the owner had heated the place prior to our arrival.
- gregg (4/5): - Saggy bed. Cobblestone street outside means LOTS of noise from passing cars. Internet is CRAP. Barely works, some of the time, in the room.
- David (9/5): Excellent stay - Arrival and departure both easy and stress-free. Great rooms, wonderful location.
- Tanya (8/5): Very good - That the guest house was part of the original castle ; being able to sit at the windiw & have a cup of tea; fan in bathroom. Did not have access to the kitchen; tight fit to get in & out of the front door..
- Calliope (10/5): Exceptional -
