Guest Reviews
- Ross (8/5): 2 nights stay. - Had the rare opportunity 2 stay at a place where the owner was also a head CHEF at his restaurant.
- Mountain man (10/5): Better than motels - It was a very nice than we expected, easy to find the location, a large and a very clean room, plus a good breakfast. Owner is a very friendly, we had a good time chat with him as it was not a busy season when we stayed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice b&b with friendly host - Easy painless check in process, comfortable beds, great breakfast included. Jarrett was a great host and there was even a very large hot tub to soak in after a long drive/hike
- Shirley (8/5): Nice B&B - Wonderful breakfast prepared by the owner, also chief chef of a local restaurant.
- Bob (10/5): Nice. Friendly owner.Good location. - Had a great stay. WIFI available.Very clean. Nice rear deck with a large hot tub. Had a great home cooked breakfast with juice & coffee made by the owner/chef. Booked it again for our trip home.
- Janice (10/5): Great B&B - good value. - Comfortable B&B in Sicamous. Breakfast was great, enjoyed the hottub.
- jerry (8/5): A nice choice for our 1 night stop. - Exceptionally Clean , very personal service great Breakfast. Great location.
- Jeff (8/5): Great - Just spent 6 nights at the Sundog. The accommodation and breakfasts were fantastic; only surpassed by the hospitality of the owner, Jarrett. He more than happy to spend time talking about the area, sharing valuable local knowledge.
Hot tub is fantastic with jets that can literally blow you off your seat.
Great location for either summer or winter get away.
- Lisa (10/5): - I've stayed at Sundog before and chose to return as it is very comfortable and very welcoming. Breakfast is fresh and cooked from scratch. I would recommend this place to anyone planning on staying in or around Sicamous.
- tanya (10/5): 2nd Time Visit - We visited the Sun Dog last summer and it has only improved since then! Air conditioners have been added along with a huge multiperson hot tub. Breakfast was just as good as last year and Jarrett couldn't be more friendly! Our only disappointment was we only got to stay here for one night this time ! We will be back :)
- Brian (10/5): - My wife and 2 boys (8 & 6) spent a week at the Sun Dog. The boys still rave about Jared breakfasts and keep compare my cooking to his. Jared was really accommodating to my family the whole time ensuring that they had everything they needed.
We have absolutely zero concerns and plan on staying there again next summer.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fantastic stay& Breakfast at SunDog! - Jarrett was an a helpful host with a wonderful way in the kitchen.
His smile was a great way to greet your stay.
The room we stayed in was very spacious, could have used a hair dryer or more shampoo. The house was easy to find and quiet.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfortable home in Sicamous - This B and B is very comfortable with a sitting area, large eating area and large deck with hot tub. The rooms are large and comfortable. The location is quiet. The breakfast is a hot cooked meal and is delicious. The host Jarrett is friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): White Rock travelers - Enjoyed our stay overnight on our way to Calgary . Host was very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast as the host is a chef.
Only down side was that we weren't aware that our small dog wasn't welcome in the house. We managed with her in the yard and the car during the night. I would definitely recommend this for a stopover.
- sylvio jr (6/5): B&B agradável, silencioso, confortável. - Bonitinho, atendido pelo dono, limpo e silencioso.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great breakfast - Jarrett was very friendly and made a very nice delicious hot breakfast
Schade
- Colleen (10/5): Excellent B&B - Great for a group!
Excellent breakfast.
Host very friendly.
- Darryl (10/5): Great B&B - Nothing fancy but everything was great.Easy check in. Jarrett was exceptional as a host and fix cooked a great breakfast-Thick french toast with his homemade blueberry syrup, bacon and fresh fruit and juice. Will definitely stay there again!
- Keith (8/5): Nice basic B&B - Nice basic b&b with a great breakfast. Hot tub was huge! Jarrett (the owner) was very friendly and gave us a great suggestion for dinner. We will definitely stay again the next time we are in the area.
- Mary (8/5): Great place for sledders to stay - Lots of space with a large 14ft swim spa and dry room out back for gear. Lots of parking for the trucks. Jarrot is a wonderful host and made great varying breakfasts and provided lunch and snacks to take on our ride. We will go back!
- Lisa (10/5): - Comfortable beds, excellent breakfast and friendly host. Will stay again when next passing through.
- Ronald (10/5): Comfortable Overnight - Friendly, personable host. Could have had a table and chair in the room. Good value for the money. Would certainly stay again!
- KiowNgoh (10/5): Wonderful stay - It is great to stay. The host is very friendly. He prepared breakfast fresh and hot. The room is clean and Neat. We had a present stay. Will consider to come back if we going sicamous next time.
- Phyl & Noel (10/5): Nice quiet location. Very well equipped and clean. - Huge rooms, home atmosphere, nice people, lovely breakfast......everything good!
- Verified traveler (6/5): So. So - The place is a bit run down and not very clean. It felt more like staying at a highway motel than a B&B.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Can control temp of our room. Breakfast was served hot with variety and delicious. Would have liked more variety of fruits. Host was friendly. Lots of parking. Easy to find.
- Robert (8/5): Good value in Sicamous, BC - All excellent--would have been all 5's--except no air-conditioning in the room. Nice cool air through the window, though. Host says he's getting AC for the rooms by next year.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is not a hotel. It is a house with rented rooms for guests (B&B) managed by the owner. The owner makes breakfast per your wish and his service is excellent. The owner is very friendly. The location is very convenient from the highway. The rooms are spacious. A good place to relax.
- Anna-Lynn (10/5): Small town with great appeal - Great host - very personable - beds were comfortable - area was quiet - large balconies - two hot tubs - large common area equipped with microwave and fridge. Not a large town - but we were directed to a restaurant with a patio that overlooked the marina - great food and view
- Jeff (2/5): This place is a SCAM - We should up ...front parking area was dirt. No staff on premises. It was run down and under construction per the owner it was a assisted Living home prior to his buying it. We never checked in and were not able to reach anyone to let them know so we just left and went somewhere else. Expedia was of no help at all...
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Overnight stay. Very comfortable. Excellent breakfast, and the staff was so friendly. Would book again.
- Darlene (10/5): - Excellent stay! We were just there for an overnight stay with our puppy. Jarett was incredibly hospitable and super pleasant and kind. We will definitely be back! Awesome back yard with hot tubs.
- Corinne (8/5): Great place to stay - This was our first B&B so didn't know what to expect. Our room was very big, with 3 double beds and a private bathroom. It was clean and comfortable, and breakfast in the morning was delicious! French toast with fresh blueberries and syrup. The only downside is that there is no air conditioning in the room. We did have a fan though. Other than that, it was a great place to stay!
- Jamie (6/5): Nice Bed and Breakfast. - Room was nice, beds were comfortable, food was excellent. The hot tubs were not very pleasing. One of them did not work at all, and the other one was only 3/4 full of water and smelled funny.
- Pat (2/5): Barking dogs and rude service. - Nobody was there to welcome us and the place was unlocked with a phone number on a whiteboard to call. They gave us a room number. After 4 hours of listening to 2 guard dogs barking while trying to sleep I phoned the owner again and asked if he could make the dogs quiet and said I did not like the lack of security on the front doors. I asked for a discount for the inconvenience. He yelled at me to leave if I did not like it and that he would be there in 30 minutes to kick us out. As it was late and I was tired and did not know were to go, I decided lock the bedroom door and ignore the threat hoping he was just in a very bad mood. In the morning I went downstairs to see him to pay before breakfast and leave. He said that he just wanted us to leave. So I said that we were on our way. I was frightened of him. We got our bags and let him know we were on our way.
- Bill (10/5): Great sleep, friendly staff, better then any hotel - Had a great experience staying at the sun dog. Our little dog was able to stay over, best breakfast and coffee ever better then any hotel. Very clean rooms and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
- Peter (8/5): Another option in Sicamous. - We have stayed in Sicamous a number of times on our way to Calgary. This was a pleasant surprise and would stay again.
- Joey and Nadine (10/5): Great B & B - We had a wonderful experience. This was our first B & B when travelling with the children. Our host Jarrett was awesome. He accommodated our every need and prepared us the most amazing breakfasts. We found the accommodation very clean and tidy and had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely be back and would not hesitate in recommending this hidden gem!
Thanks Jarrett and your terrific team, see you soon.
Joey, Nadine, Jax and Jaz
- CAKE (10/5): Great family friendly spot for road trippers - Our family with kids aged 12 and 14 enjoyed a night here on a recent road trip. Awesome family friendly place - big back yard and TV room to hang out in, great breakfast, comfortable room and a really welcoming environment. We will stay at Sun Dog B+B again.
- Jill (10/5): Easy to find with hottubs to use! - Very easy to find to home. Had hottubs to use, which was great after a day of riding. Delicious breakfast prepared by a real chef!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not as nice as the description. - Disappointing for the high price. Discount adv. was not applied.
- Tanya (10/5): wonderful! - my husband and I spent two nights at the Sundog with our 5 month old daughter. this was our first bed and breakfast experience and we loved it! Owner Jarrett was so friendly and easy going, he provided us with an amazing breakfast (which my husband admitted was the best French toast he's ever had) along with local recommendations for food. having a baby we were worried about any noise but our room was basically sound proof and conveniently had 3 beds! there were hot tubs available, which unfortunately we didn't get to try, but we did take advantage of the common room and large fridge to keep our items. next time we come through we will definitely be staying again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Stay! - We had a very nice stay at the Sundog, the beds were comfy, and the room and bathroom were clean. Having access to a fridge and freezer was a bonus and the large livingroom with tv was a nice touch. The backyard was nice area, with a hot tub and tables/chairs to use. Breakfast was very good, come with an appetite, it is a large breakfast! It was a nice home away from home and we will defiantly stop by again. The only downfall was that there wasn't any a/c and it was very necessary.
- Sungchan (10/5): Wonderful one night! It is awesome. - This experience in SunDog B&B was amazing!
If you have a chance to visit around here, I strongly recommend this experience to you!
- Christine (8/5): Perfect stop between Victoria and Edmonton - We were looking for somewhere halfway time-wise between Victoria and Edmonton, that would accommodate us, our two kids, and my mother-in-law. We found it! Jarett was a great host, very pleasant and communication was excellent. We had the place to ourselves, and had a fun soak in the hottub in the rain! Perfect end to a day in the car. The pictures don't do the backyard justice - lovely view of mountains! Rooms are very spacious and clean; beds very comfortable and supportive mattresses. Temperature was all self-controlled, which I appreciate. We also had access to a full fridge and freezer to store our travel food and ice packs. There is nothing fancy about this place, but it is perfectly comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good, included coffee, juices, orange slices, French toast, and house made peach and cherry syrup. Jarett also accommodated our need for an early breakfast so we could get home in good time. We would definitely stay again!
