La vue de l'arrière n'est pas la plus belle, mais on ne vient pas pour cela. Penser à demander une chambre la plus haute possible pour éviter les bruits de la piscine et des gens aux abords (ce ne fut pas le cas lors de notre séjour, il ne faisait pas assez chaud pour l'utilisation de la piscine) Monotonie du petit déjeuner (toujours la même chose même s'il y avait le choix entre le sucré et le salé). Salle petit déjeuner un peu petite (il y a possibilité de manger à l'extérieur, mais cela dépend du temps)
- PATRYCJA (7/5): Good location, a bit pricey for what you get - Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is good- within a walking distance to local shops and nearby beach (7-10mins walk). We have suite with a private terrace which was lovely but not sure if worth the price Breakfast didn’t have many options, coffee machine kept breaking every day. Rooms are very basic but clean. I was expecting a bit more for the price we paid.

Maja oli väga kena Voodi oli väga ära vajunud madratsiga, konditsioneer ei toiminud esimene päev, teisel päeval õnnestus see korda saada personalil. Vannitoas jooksis ringi suur prussakas. Kõige rohkem häiris söögi tegemise lõhn, mis oli väga tugev ja terve tuba oli seda täis, ilmselt levia ventilatsioonist, eriti tugev oli see hommikusöögi ajal. Vannituba ja eluruumi eraldas klaas ja klaasuks. See ei käinud lukku ja oli väga läbinähtav

- Dmitrij (5/5): - I was expecting lot more from a junior suite. My room had no sunlight as it was on the ground floor window facing a brick wall. No ventilation and room smelled moldy. Having a window open to remove smell meant mosquitoes for the night. Elevator next to a room door so you hear everyone. No parking, despite the description clearly states having one. This may be a treatment what you get by not booking direct but via booking.com. This is trading you get on booking.con though. Good luck!
- Peter (6/5): An OK hotel ruined by a receptionist with zero customer service. - The whole hotel was noticeably clean and tidy. All the staff except for the reception chap, were friendly and helpful. The breakfast pastries were excellent. The guy on reception. If you asked him to do anything he did it with extremely poor grace and gave the impression anything other than sitting behind his desk was an onerous burden. The first room we were offered was in the basement sandwiched between the pool seating area and dining room. It also had a glass wall to the toilet and shower. When we asked if we could change rooms the response was moody and sullen. We were then given a much smaller room on the 4th floor in which the air-conditioning barely worked. When we asked laddo on reception to do something about it, he allegedly checked it and considered it to be working fine. At this point we gave up dealing with him. The breakfast is very average.
- Kaasher (3/5): - The location of the hotel being close to shops. I hired a car to travel around malta and booked this hotel specifically as it was advertised to have parking. Once the booking was confirmed the staff did not make me aware that the parking was not available. I had to ask and find out so parking was a big struggle which caused me to park away to check in and I had just had an injury which made it a bit difficult to walk. There was no consideration from the staff when I enquired about parking which in my opinion is shambolic and unprofessional. Furthermore upon checkout I had to pay the extra city tax for being there?? This information was not given to me upon booking so it came unexpected. The room advertised on booking is the one upstairs which I booked looking at those pictures, when I arrived they gave me an entirely different room downstairs with no windows, there was a severe smell of damp, and found breathing very hard due to the smell and lack of air in the room. Mosquitos were also present in the room which created severe difficulty in breathing pictures of the mosquito bites are added. The cooling system in the room.i.e the FAN had no cooling power what so ever, so it was very hot and humid which made sleeping very uncomfortable and unbearable.
- Amy (10/5): Incredible stay! - We had an incredible stay at Palazzo Violetta! The staff were all really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect, lovely and quiet, but also easy access to both the Sliema waterfront area and St Julian's. Our room was very clean and comfortable, the beds and pillows were brilliant. We had breakfast on 2 occasions and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend!

We enjoyed the location was it was a good walk away from the noise of the tourist area down by the harbour. The breakfast offered a good amount of choice with cooked food being hot. Having a 'superior studio room' was worth the extra money.

- Jan (10/5): - Its a very comfortable hotel, bed and pillows are extremely comfy.. staff were polite and was exceptionally clean, the road and area is very quiet Not too much around but 10 mins walk takes you to everything On arrival we were told we had been upgraded but when we arrived at the room it was a downgraded room to the one i had reserved.. receptoon told us we coukd have the room with the kitchen area the next day as they were all booked out.. so they had sold our room which we booked 2 months in advance .. they moved everything for us but we had to repack and on a 3 night stay this was an incovenience . - RayeBowe (8/5): Lovely small hotel. - Lovely small hotel. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bonus to have a pool (although in shade much of the day at this time of year so it was icy cold!). Located in a quiet residential area, 10 or so minutes from the various waterfront areas in Sliema. Easy to catch a bus to Valletta (quicker than the ferry from Sliema Ferris). We booked a family room and this worked well for us as we were happy to all be in what is essentially 1 room, however I’d imagine those who expect a 2-bedroom duplex (as it was labelled) may be surprised to find it all open-plan with no doors between the beds! Having 2 bathrooms was great and we enjoyed the tiny balcony overlooking the seating area and pool. We were directly over the dining room and lift so it did get noisy at times.

- Christinesnoogs (8/5): Nice hotel - The location was a bit out of the way from the bars and restaurants on the harbour, although we enjoyed the walk back to the hotel each evening. The hotel is located on a lovely residential street with the traditional houses. We had booked an upgraded room in the original part of the hotel but unfortunately the details we were given suggested that this would have a balcony, which it didn't. The reception moved us to a room in the new part of the hotel at the back with a balcony overlooking the pool which was fine, although I missed the lovely traditional features that I had booked. Room was very clean and well maintained and the kitchenette very handy. The overall cost of the holiday was fairly cheap so I would say the hotel was good value for money - breakfast was good, although the coffee came from a machine which was not good. The staff were friendly and helpful. I personally think the photos of a full English breakfast in various places a bit tacky and not needed - the hotel is trying to sell itself as boutique so this really doesn't help with that. There was some noise from the room upstairs but nothing too bad.

Staff were friendly and helpful The smell of cigarette smoke as other guests smoked on balconies near by. Out of control of property owner/manager.

- 326julietteh (6/5): Disappointing Suite layout - We were two couples who booked a ‘suite’ expecting two private bedrooms , However we found two open areas on two floors separated by open stairs. No privacy, the only doors being in the two bathrooms. There were no other rooms available. This layout is probably fine for families or hen party groups but the unusual suite should be clarified for future potential guests. The service and cleanliness were very good.
- SYLAND (9/5): Séjour unique à Malte - L’emplacement est excellent, à environ 10 minutes de marche du ferry vers La Valette. Plusieurs restaurants se trouvent à proximité, ce qui facilite grandement l’accès. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par le personnel. Tout est à disposition, les petits déjeuners sont complets et il ne manque de rien. Un bel établissement, calme, propre et plein de caractère. L'accès WIFI excellent et le service est impeccable. Le stationnement n'était pas disponible lors de notre séjour, par contre avec un peu de patience on trouve un endroit à proximité, c'est plus compliqué mais ça fait parti des vacances. Petite amélioration à faire, une meilleure machine à café, la salle de bain commence à être désuète mais quand même très propres.
- Carolin (10/5): sehr hübsch, ruhig und trotzdem nah an allem. - Herr Diego am Empfang war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten ein Problem mit dem Koffer und auch einen Wunsch zum Zimmer. In beidem hat er uns geholfen. Die Lage ist super, sehr ruhige Wohngegend mit kleinen hübschen Häusern. Das Frühstück war auch hervorragend. Sehr netter Service und man kann auch im Freien beim Pool frühstücken. In der Nähe gibt es ein kleines süßes Bagel-Cafe , dass durchgehend bis abends auf hat. Man kann in 2 Richtungen runter zum Wasser laufen ca. 10 min. Richtung Valletta unten am Wasser ist gleich die Fähre. Dort gibt es auch viele Pubs und Restaurants. ---

- misspertwee (10/5): 1st visit to Malta, local buses very good - This was our 1st visit to Malta and what a little gem this hotel is. We had a beautiful room with a sofa, table & chairs, fridge, crockery, cutlery, microwave, kettle & lockable safe in the wardrobe. The bathroom is very compact with walk in shower. The room was cleaned everyday & all the staff were very friendly. We booked room only, but breakfast is available if required. Approximately 15 minute walk down the hill to the promenade & for those not wanting to walk back there is a bus you can catch which takes you to a stop close to the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

- Zoe (9/5): Stay in Sliema - A lovely stay in a beautiful room (room 7 in the annex) with friendly staff. We never had breakfast so I can't comment on the food as we like to eat out and about but the mini-bar was very handy and reasonably priced. Great location with a 10 minute walk to the promenade. We did notice a damp smell in the room with visible damp and mold on the ceiling directly above the bed. As owners of a grade II listed building, we understand the maintenance challenges but with these addressed, it would have been perfect.

Alles war sauber und die Lage ist auch super - alles kann fußläufig gut erreicht werden. Es war herrlich ruhig und dennoch ist man schnell im Geschehen, wenn man darauf Lust hat. Die Matratze war relativ durchgelegen.

De ligging viel wat tegen, niet ver van het centrum maar heel stijl om naartoe te stappen, minder gezellig na een avond in het centrum. Ook gevaarlijke straten om over te steken, roekeloze bestuurders. Ook geen eet mogelijkheid in het hotel.

- leslie (6/5): Pictures are deceiving - The building was was nice. The housekeeping staff were good. Breakfast was acceptable. But the same everyday The bedding could have been better. The old small towels were a disgrace. Though on a couple of days we got newer ones. There was a problem with the bathroom drains and they tried to mask the odor. We worked on fixing it and it became just acceptable. They did offer another smaller room. Overall it was slightly disappointing.

- Michael4444Harvey (10/5): A gem just 10mins walk from Sliema sea front. - We didn’t want a huge hotel. Choosing Palazzo Violetta was a good choice for us. Approx a 10 min uphill walk from Sliema sea front. Situated in a charming street setting the hotel occupies two properties on opposite sides of a one way street. We pre booked a taxi (Bolt) who collected us from the airport. As our daughter joined us with her 1 yr old. We booked a seven seater so we didn’t have to collapse the push chair. A shiny black Ford Tourneo (Transit) was perfect for the 20 min journey to the hotel. At reception everything was explained to us and we were provided with a safe key. We were then shown to our rooms which were on the opposite side of the street. My wife and I had a double room with a balcony. Our daughter had her own double room and she chose one without a balcony. Having a push chair meant it was ideal that the rooms could be accessed by a lift. The room was immaculate with large bed a tastefully decorated. The bathroom/toilet was uber modern tiled and equipped with a rain shower and secondary shower hose. Plenty of room and not one of those tight cubicles. 😊 A large patio door opens onto a balcony with a table a chairs & sunloungers. A property opposite is exactly the same height with the same facilities. Each can be overlooked. Not a problem for us as it appeared to be up for sale and was unoccupied during our visit. Breakfast was served in a large room in the lower ground floor of the main hotel. It is also the access point to the hotel swimming pool. A lift is also available to gain access to all floors in this building. A self service continental & English cooked breakfast is available. A good coffee machine & selection of teas makes for a pleasant start to the day. Everything here was spotlessly clean. The swimming pool is 1.4m in depth and looks like a sun trap for peak season. Temp today was a 13-17 degrees throughout the day. The pool is not heated but when I put my hand in did not feel really cold. Probably quite refreshing, but I didn’t try it. Our room was on the third floor/top. The double glazed patio door when closed deadens the street traffic noise. It is not noisy but the street is relatively narrow. If something like a Lambretta scooter goes past you can recognise what it is. Saying that many pizza delivery boy scooters are now electric and move around silently. Our daughter being on the first floor did experience more noise. She chose to get an upgrade and was kindly moved to the main hotel and got a rear facing room. She was much happier there. A total of 37 rooms are available between the two locations. We really enjoyed our St Patricks Day wedding anniversary here and would definitely come back. Be mindful before booking. Unless you’re going to go everywhere by taxi. It is hills in all directions from the hotel. We thought it just added to the character of the location & we love walking so no problem for us.

The hotel is in a great location, and walking distance of the seafront and lots of restaurants in Silema as well as St Julian’s bay. Breakfast was good and a nice choice of items. A shout out to Diego who is a credit to the hotel and was very helpful. Thoroughly recommend the hotel.

Didn’t have the breakfast or use the pool (which looked great) as still a bit chilly. Room was a good size with tea/coffee and a mini bar, en-suite was also a good size with a large shower and plenty of hot water.

Great offerings at breakfast. we found it nice and central for walking down to the ferry terminal and top quality restaurants and bars. The only constructive comment would be a review of the noisy plumbing and heating systems particularly overnight. The area is lovely and quiet and so flushing loos in neighbouring rooms was quite noisy. A small comment on an overall very positive stay. Many thanks. PS, we were staying in the hotel annex across the road.
- Trip513781 (8/5): Great location and value for money - Great location, we walked to Valletta and got the ferry back. Lots of shops and restaurants within a short walk and a bay on either side. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. We went for one with a balcony which we used every day. Really nice hotel with lots of character. I just marked it down a little because the water temperature in the shower changed regularly with the pressure but this was only a minor issue overall. Really good value for money.

It was really useful to have a kitchenette so we could use the local shops, including lidl, for some of our meals and then spend a bit more going out for some amazing dinners The bed and pillows were a little too firm for me, I think they were memory foam, my husband didn’t seem to mind though. The shower changed temperature and pressure constantly but we didn’t need long showers anyway so it wasn’t too much of an issue
- leem768 (10/5): A very nice hotel in an ok area. - The location of the hotel is in a quiet street about a 10 minute walk from bars and restaurants on the water front. There are also many take away shops and convenience stores within 5 minutes walk. The atmosphere at and around the hotel is friendly. The staff were all very charming and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and had a comfy bed. It had a useful kitchen area with a kettle, sink and microwave. The bathroom was large in a wet room style. The shower had good water pressure with 2 heads, the only thing that wasn't excellent was the soak away from the shower, the water does run down almost to the toilet so the use of the mats are a must. We didn't use the pool or bar at the hotel. The pool was cleaned every other day and the bar was stocked with bottled beers and spirits. Over all we had a lovely stay.
- Dmfan16 (7/5): Return stay - Quiet Room with individual AC. Pool area is lovely to have a quiet drink. Location is good away from crowds but very walkable. Very damp in room with musty smelling pillows and bed linen. I believe we were in an accessible room, so rainshower head was unusable as water would go everywhere. It went everywhere even with other shower head and water collected in shower area. Replacement towels were grey and towels never dried properly. I understand it's difficult to keep moisture out in winter in these limestone homes, but the smells and dampness in the room made it a bit uncomfortable. I did not encounter these damp issues when I stayed here in late May 2023.

- Blueyonder80 (8/5): Good small hotel but disappointing breakfast. - This is a smart beautifully presented boutique hotel in a quiet side street which proved a great base to explore Malta from. We had upgraded to a ' comfort room' which was on the top floor and spacious and clean. The only negative was the opaque shower room glass door next to the bed . This gave very little privacy and no sound proofing! We had booked bed and breakfast which was served in a pleasant basement room leading to a garden area with pool and seating. Breakfast was ok but ultra processed and the same every day. A small selection of ' lidl' pastries and pre cooked hot selection with machine coffee and carton juice . There was a chunky fresh fruit salad which was nice but in hindsight we would have had room only as there are many alternative cafes around. Also they advertise eggs cooked how you like but we were only offered that on the first day which was disappointing. Be warned that crisps and nuts on coffee tray are not complimentary which is sneaky! The hotel was well connected for buses and ferries. There is a stop around the corner ( Tas Sliema) for Valletta otherwise it is a 15 minute downhill to either St Julian's way or to the ferry/ town centre. A manageable climb back up although pavements in poor repair. We enjoyed our stay here and managed to explore a lot of the island .

- F1479ORalexandraa (8/5): Quiet and well situated - Happy we chose this quiet little hotel. A great place to rest both legs, soul and ears from the busy streets and restaurants in the area. Well situated within reach from everything you need, but away from the busiest streets. This time of the year no one was swimming in the pool so our balcony towards it was an oasis. We upgraded to a duplex room with balcony and kitchenette, which turned out lucky as one of us got sick the first night. As the bathroom almost is a part of the (living)room with sliding glass doors (whyyyy does anyone ever think that is a good idea?!?!) we appreciated the possibility that the other could either be upstairs or outside. We also had the possibility to eat in our room during recovery. Beds were super comfortable! Made me reconsider my choice of bed at home, haha :) I slept so well. Breakfast buffet was on the small side, but with everything (and more) I would ask for. Everything was refilled continuously and kept nice and tidy. I would recommend this hotel to others preferably travelling without children.

Spało się bardzo dobrze i wygodnie. Pokój codzinnie sprzątany, do dyspozycji czajnik i mała zastawa oraz kawa, herbata itp. (za darmo, codzinnie uzupełniane). Lodówka z płatnym mini barkiem. Śniadania takie same, ale codzinnie możesz wybrać coś innego. Kawa smaczna, z ekspresu. Po wymeldowaniu można bezpłatnie zostawić bagaż. Polecamy!

The location was good for us as we could explore all parts of Sliema very easily from it. Only about 15mins to walk to ferry for Valletta too

Your staff is the biggest asset - very welcoming and kindhearted, was always responsive to my needs. From the moment I arrived , I was greeted with warmth. Aside from the great service, the hotel was cozy and very comfortable. The most important point for me was also the quiet area. Highly recommended. And if you are interested in history then this place is just the amazing one to be. Feels like you are becoming the part of the history. It added a special charm to the whole trip. - kellybB356RL (8/5): A week at the Palazzo Violetta - We really liked it at this hotel. The rooms were beautiful. We had loads of space. We were on the top floor so sadly didn't have a balcony. The whole place was kept lovely and clean. Breakfast was plentiful and varied and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside was no comfortable indoor seating area (apart from the reception area) where you could chill out if you didn't want to sit by the pool or in your room. It was conveniently in the middle of Silema and St Julianne's so we had the choice each day of which town to walk down to and get a cheeky mid morning coffee.
