- James (8/5): It was comfortable. Nice hotel. - Hot food plus cereal The TV in the breakfast room was set to Fox News. I would prefer to hear an unbiased source like KELO from Sioux Falls rather than listen to one sided propaganda.
- Allison (10/5): Comfortable, clean, and quiet - Clean, staff was friendly and it was very quiet. We didn’t find anything we didn’t like about the place.

- Victoria (10/5): - It was a great location and nice hotel. Disappointed that they were overhauling the restaurant/bar. One of the reasons we selected ed this hotel was their onsite restaurant but it was not open during our stay.
- Todd (10/5): - Shuttle to the Jacks Bash was fabulous! We had no idea that service was being offered, but it was great!
- Amy (10/5): -
- scott (10/5): - Very nice rooms, beds were comfortable, and room was very clean!
- Jean (8/5): Family Trip - Added sofa that goes into a bed Turned on heat (yes simmer) and smelt like someone had urinated in the room.
- Josh (10/5): Winner - Very nice hotel and accessible to all of our needs
- debra (10/5): - Room was roomy & clean.
- Ioannis (10/5): - It is a well-maintained hotel. The room is very big, next to the university, super clean, and nice. It has all the tick items from a hotel that will not mess you up.
- Victoria (8/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): - Very nice!
- Tom (10/5): - Hotel was an excellent stay. Facility was clean along with room and amenities. I recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling
- Carla (6/5): - We usually stay at this hotel when in Brookings to visit our college kid. It is conveniently located off the interstate and near the university. It's clean and staff is friendly. I'm usually willing to pay a little more to stay here vs other nearby hotels. Unfortunately, this stay might change that. First, the pillows were horrible - not even real bed pillows, but instead were lumpy square pillows, they made me think of the type of pillows you might put on a couch. The exercise room equipment was minimal (1 elliptical and 1 treadmill machine, plus free weights and a bench). The elliptical made an annoying screech when in use and the treadmill was a small and didn't feel terribly sturdy. More like what you would find in a small home gym than a commercial facility. But the real kicker is that it was 80 degrees in there! There was no way to turn the thermostat down and no fans in the room. (For context, it was only about 75 outside). Finally, the eggs at breakfast were so watery you actually had to drain them before putting them on your plate. Taste-wise, they were okay (not good, not bad), but they were quite unappetizing in the pan!
Overall, I would stay here again, but it will no longer be my automatic go-to.
- Fred (10/5): Place was nice, staff was excellent - Everything Nothing
- Frietsch (8/5): - Great location. Easy on/off the interstate. The room was in good repair and very clean. The breakfast was the main drawback. Lower quality foods, very little healthy/fresh options. Limited selections.
- Joshua (10/5): -
- Douglas (10/5): - It was clean, newer, and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent as well.
- Yuzhou (6/5): - Bed is not comfortable
- Latasha (9/5): Superb -
- Paige (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay, close to campus. Friendly staff.
- debbie (10/5): - Overall cleanliness the room was very nice . The wifi was down one day and went to do laundry and that was out of order. Also over the weekend kids were wraking havoc throughout the whole building couldnt go swimming cause they were monsters in tbe pool and no parents to be seen anywhere.
- Shultheis (9/5): Superb -
- Jill (10/5): Nice hotel - Nice hotel
- Jodi (10/5): - Nice and clean
- Jan (10/5): - Staff was friendly & prompt. Toilet paper holder loose. Lack of exhaust fan in bathroom is frustrating (humid -& steamy). Breakfast choices & coffee were very good. I would stay here again .
- Dawn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kurt (8/5): A top tier choice in Brookings - This is one of my top two in Brookings and we have stayed at all the hotels in town. Due to new student orientation crowds the pricing seemed a bit high. Still acceptable but maybe 15% higher than expected.
- Dean (6/5): It was OK - My husband booked this through booking.com and the rate went up much more than what it started with, So when we arrived we asked about a Vet or senior discount and they told us no because it had all ready been paid for. Disappointed at how the rates grew for a weekend. That was a disappointment to us. This was Our first visit to a Comfort inn.
- MARILYN (8/5): - For a wedding
- Brook (10/5): - Nice!
- Bob (9/5): Superb -
- Jedediah (10/5): - Great Staff and stay
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- TRACY (8/5): - It was ok beds are not the most comfortable wish it had a bathtub instead of a shower plus the water ends up on the bathroom floor, think its very dangerous if someone slipped so whoever came up with that idea for shower door not good other room nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Value - Clean, comfortable, and attractive.
- Danielle (8/5): Fresh smell - The hotel smelled fresh and clean and our room was spotless. My lone complaint is that the pool didn’t have any clean towels and the dirty ones were strewn about. I would stay here again.
- Joe (9/5): Superb -
- Alma (10/5): Exceptional - The room had everything you need for a week long stay The bar next door closed at 9pm
- Debra (8/5): - The Breakfast was NOT good. Sorry
- Hilary (10/5): Very nice - Very nice hotel and we would definitely recommend and or stay again.
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Convenient and comfortable stay along our road trip. - Very comfortable stay. Nothing.
- Benjamin (10/5): - Clean and quiet
- David (8/5): Very good - Friendly staff. A new staff member was being trained at the front desk. The trainer was polite and helpful when the new staff member had questions. We did not mind the small delays.
- Andrea (4/5): - We've enjoyed staying at this property before, but this time the room was not clean. The floor had something sticky spilled on it, the bathroom faucet had toothpaste spatter from prior guest, and the bathroom mirror had water and toothpaste spots on it.
- Jon (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptionally great place to stay.
- Deb (9/5): Superb -
- Cam (10/5): - Great hotel with very clean rooms
- Jeff (9/5): Superb -
- Heather (4/5): Vomit at the pool, running kids, high prices, dirty room, no shampoo, no staff - hard pass - The bed was comfortable. Had a nice couch. Location right off interstate. Had booked each night separately (first king, second 2 queens). Asked if they could move me to 2 queens the first night so I wouldn't have to switch rooms - they said the hotel was full. Understandable. However, the 2nd night I was also given a king when I payed more for 2 queens.
The room was okay. Carpets seemed pretty dirty. The shower looked dirty but we assumed it was because of use. Upon using the shower, noticed the dirtiness was washing away - gross. Shampoo/conditioner attached to the wall - shampoo completely empty, which I've never experienced before in this situation. It had to have been weeks/months since it was last filled - what the heck. Gross musky smell that came up from the drains/faucet when using it. There were a few team events at the hotel, but kids running up and down the hallways all night.
Breakfast underwhelming - not much for options and nothing that appeared to be gluten free except yogurt. Got a yogurt that seemed bad with weird consistency, so threw it away.
Kids used the pool the 2nd night and the following morning before we checked out. One of them walked through a pile of vomit right inside the door. We had arrived fairly early and it was hard to believe that someone had puked that morning already - likely from the night before. So so gross.
Would've mentioned it at the desk, but every time I went by, no one was there. I don't think I saw anyone at the desk the entire time except check-in. No one was there when I turned in the keys and left either.
Overall, disappointing, especially because I paid ~$200/night due to surge prices for events. I'm not sure there's anything much nicer in Brookings, but I'd take the chance on another hotel next time.
- spencer (10/5): - Great place
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (10/5): - Clean, quiet facility.
- Kimberly (10/5): - Very clean. Friendly staff. Location is close to shopping and dining. Room was quiet. Breakfast area is nice with good options. Wish they offered bacon.
- Lori (10/5): - Nice property - friendly staff and great location!
- Beverly (10/5): - O
- Kollis (9/5): Superb - Good breakfast. Clean and comfortable room at decent value.
- Ashlea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Till (6/5): Pleasant - Room was large and clean. Pool area was nice No staff at desk had to wait to check in and out.
Breakfast was horrible. Eggs were watery, bacon not cooked could not even try to eat, muffins were still frozen.
Asked the staff to cook the bacon and she said she microwaved it didn't know what to do was very young and only person doing breakfast.
Pool area had gum wrappers and popped ballons probably a party that day but not picked up.
- Samantha (10/5): - Hotel room was clean and the breakfast was good. Pool room has a nice hot tub, and the workout room has a few machines and some weights. Overall very nice.
- Doug (10/5): - Very nice place but no towel bars in bathroom. No where to hang wet towels for reuse.
- Chad (10/5): - Great place!!👍
- Valori (10/5): Exceptional -
- Randy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice room and amenities
Beds were very comfortable
- elizabeth (10/5): Great place - it was nice. the lobby where the breakfast is was a bit chilly.
- Nicholas (6/5): It was ok. - Plugins by my bed made it easy to use my cpap. USB plugins made it easy to charge my phone. I liked having a couch area to sit. My room smelled awful. It was like someone took a huge dump and didn’t flush. The toilet was clean and I couldn’t find the source of the smell but it was just nasty. Room was clean so I don’t think it was the cleaning personnel. I checked in at 8pm.
- Valori (10/5): Exceptional - Comfort Suites exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean, large and we enjoyed having a couch to hang out on. The pool area was clean and well stocked. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was hot, well stocked and spotless. We enjoyed the beautiful Christmas decorations also. We will stay here again. nothing
- Dianne (10/5): Late night stay. - I arrived around 10:00 and was immediately checked in. The clerk at the front desk was very efficient
- Tara (9/5): Quiet Night In With All The Accommodations - Easy check in and checkout processes
Nice accommodations
Hot Breakfast offered
Location is amazing The gym is not open 24/7 or earlier.
- Mark (10/5): Great - Excellent my shower sill had hair in the basin not the end of the world
- Heidi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeremy (8/5): Nice value priced option. - Overall would stay again. Check-in and check-out was fast, price reasonable, room size generous, overall was pretty clean (few minor areas in the room that were dusty and the bathroom area needs some minor wall repair to be completed it appears). Breakfast was as you'd expect but served us fine and the coffee was hot and ready early. My only few issues...the room has both a central HVAC and a window unit. The window unit would not allow us to run the heat and the fan all the time (was not trying to run the heater all the time, but just to have the fan run to circulate the air better and white noise for sleeping...which leads to the second issue). The room was an adjoining room, obviously closed off to the whomever was in the other room, to which we could hear them VERY clearly when they talked, coughed, etc; not the end of the world but was annoying. Last thing, there is no exhaust fan in the shower / bathroom...as someone that takes hot showers is annoying. Overall solid option and for the price we paid would consider staying again if in the area.
- Victoria (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (9/5): Great experience -
