- Krzysztof (2/5): -
- Charles (5/5): - the position is very convenient to little Toyko privicy & shower
- Ang (9/5): - Convenient location, I walked from the LA Union train station late at night with no issues! Bed was really comfy, they provided a small sample-size packet of shampoo and conditioner. There seems to be people who are staying there long-term (which is totally fine with me) but one of them had music playing out loud for almost the entire night! I had to use my own airpods to play a podcast to myself to drown his music out and managed to sleep fine, but it was mildly annoying

- Mitsitini (8/5): Great Location/Value; Little Privacy - Good location and great price. Easy to get into. Lot of plugs for recharging. I ended up taking an Uber to Union Station, but you could walk 10-15 mins or take a bus later in the day. Very close to Japan town. The bed is big enough for two people, if you aren't staying too long. Each pod is 12 or so beds, so it's a reasonable amount of people. There is a small kitchen area for reheating food and people leave some food to share community style (e.g., cereal, rice, etc.) Simple curtains would be a big improvement. There was a guy listening to videos without headphones - after an hour I asked him if had headphones and he was apologetic. I checked in late and there were no towels visible. Turned out to be a mistake that the attendant should have left a set on my bed, but there wasn't anyone to contact after midnight. The mirror to put on makeup is over the sink, so it can feel rushed. But they had a good hair dryer and other small amenities available.
- Robert (5/5): You get what you paid for and if you were looking for a deal. I would say go here. - I liked the price and the shared living environment. I liked the front desk worker. They were very accommodating. Starting with the first day in the shared living room, I saw a mouse run to the back storage area. I also noticed a musty smell on the bed. Even with my sensitive nose, when I removed the pillowcase, I saw the pillow was yellowed. Additionally, I didn't like that on my last night there, the shower grate was missing for some reason. I didn't shower because I was too scared.

- Lisa (5/5): Bed was clean and comfortable enough to get a few hours sleep. No bed bugs!! - The communication from staff was prompt and polite. Not too far to walk to Union Station I left very early morning so it was in a dark quiet road, but there was a security light outside the door entrance. There were only fans circulating the air and not proper air con. One of the residents had thrown up (not in the toilet) in one of the two toilets and kept having a shower which I could hear. Wasn’t allowed to put a towel up as a curtain for privacy but appreciated security cams in there.
- Clive (7/5): It was an experience to say the least, planning another stay shortly. - The location and the layout. The tv’s , but that wasn’t a major issue for me though.
- Zdeněk (10/5): -
- marcus (10/5): - great beds and alot of room for a cheap price
- Susan (6/5): - I didn't use the work spaces. Just got in and went to bed. My friend found a good Japanese restaurant nearby. My bunk was clean and comfortable. Very quiet while we were there.
- Adam (10/5): - Great spot. Nice guests. Good location but not safe for walking sadly.
- Verner (10/5): - The place was a little hard to find, it was clean and nice the bed was perfect I went to sleep soon as I got there. You might want to bring a fan it’s I little hot in there I just couldn’t breathe at night but other then that I enjoyed my one night only that’s all I could take.
- Randall (4/5): You get what you pay for. Just a place to lay your head for a night or two. Run down, hot no A/C - They kept in touch via text. Early check-in. The guy at check-in was nice and let me choose any open bunk. Bed had clean sheets. No bed bug bites. The quiet hours from 10a to 10p was enforced. After hour noise was not a problem, but I always bring ear plugs in case. Place is run down. Dark and dingey. Several low life people staying there. I think the guy below me was homeless and the same for the guy across from me. Very hot inside. No A/C. I sweat a lot. The kitchen was small and the fridge was filthy. The microwave was falling apart, but it did work. I stayed for two nights and thankfully no one stole my food from the fridge. The bed mattress is just a big chunk of foam. I did sleep a few hours, but the constant metro trains going by made it hard. There were only two showers and toilets to use. Both are very small and not the cleanest. One large sink with two faucets in the hallway to brush your teeth and shave in front of everyone. There is absolutely no privacy except for the bathroom and shower. No outlets at my bunk. I used the one in the common area. The couch and chairs in the common area look lived in and I saw people sleeping in them during the day and night as if they came in off the street. The price should have been lower to stay in this run down place. I stayed two nights. It got the job done, was able to shower and relax in my bunk, but honestly, I was very glad to leave.

- Viki (8/5): LA experience - Easy access to public transportation and they were so thoughtful, wrote down how to find and enter the place. The bed was comfortable. At the bed I didn't have any blanket, would have been great. And having curtains at the bed would have given me more safety as a solo travel for the night.

- Kaylie (8/5): - My friend and I stayed here for two nights, loved it. You pretty much get what you pay for
- Ralph (6/5): - Nice pods and concept behind, long quite time until 10 am, light and electrical sockets in the pods, enough storage space under the bed.
Dislike: mattress too soft, flatscreen in the pod not in function, very small toilets, two sinks in the hall which are in a poor (not hygienic) condition. Two doors and codes required, which changes from time to time. The dining rooms are not very clean, no air condition, more fresh air required in the rooms.
- Melina (9/5): -
- Ivan (10/5): - It's really close to the Union station and Little Tokyo, it's a cozy place to stay the night, during summer it gets a little hot inside but has big windows to cool the place enough
- Željko (10/5): -
- Coedoe (10/5): - Friendly
- John (10/5): - I was able to fall right to sleep.
- Yasmin (6/5): Convenient open-bay mixed gender dormitory-style hostel in DTLA - Great location near a major transport hub in downtown LA, in an interesting neighborhood with lots of restaurants and several grocery stores, and priced well below nearly everything else in this area. Comfortable full-size bed, nice to have kitchen facilities. Pleasant staff and quick response via app and text.
- Darryl (6/5): Pleasant - Good location The fact that there is no air conditioning, privacy curtain, outdated bathroom, outdated beds that has way too much gap was a little concerning to me. There are so many things that can be approved on and updated toale the stay more appealing.
- Josh (2/5): - It's a over priced LA hostle. It's dirty and offer little to no amenities. If you've stayed at hostles then you know to bring certain things. But this place obviously doesn't clean or maintain their facilities so don't expect much
- Stephanie (10/5): - I was unsure if i would arrive just before or just after the cutoff for checking in & the staff was extremely accommodating & responsive to my updates/willing to work with me in the event i'd be in late. Check in was quick and easy, as was checking out! Absolutely loved the smaller space i was given and definitely would book with them again
- Shirona (8/5): - Inexpensive and closer to many things. I hope they clean the bathrooms and showers a little better.
- Dianna (7/5): Good -
- Aintzane (5/5): No privacy no silence - Cero intimacy, no curtains on the bes, a lot of noises from outside, it was cold, no door in the bedroom so you can hear anyone that is in the kitchen, restroom.., Too many people in the same space and no privacy even when sleeping.
- Albert (2/5): - Unfortunately the sheets were not washed. They were discolored and the bed also had stains on them. There's mold in the showers and the shower head is broken. It smells like pee in the showers. No blanket.
- Jim (5/5): Acceptable - Uniqueness Not enough privacy
- Daichi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Declan (8/5): Very good experience. - I had originally booked a location next to Union Station but a series of delays with the Starlight Express from Oakland (wildfires, a car on the tracks, a space X launch (we got to witness the launch from the observation deck of the train - so that was cool)) meant I cancelled my original choice and booked this venue instead. It is in a gentrified Arts quarter in L.A. The area looked run down on the surface but once I saw families walking dogs and pushing prams I soon relaxed. The accomodation is a few minutes from the Little Tokyo/Arts District metro station which was great for me to get around the rest of L.A. I'm big into my craft beer and there are a lot of very good quality Breweries and taprooms within walking distance - Boomtown, Arrow Lodge, Angel City and the Arts District brewing company are all worth a visit. The accomodation itself consists of pods which are very comfortable and offers guests a choice of short and long term stays and you can break up payments by day, week or month by cash or card. Access is secure and the beds were comfortable. Lockers and kitchen facilities were available and there was a lounge room to socialise with other guests. I would happily stay here again.
- Terrica (1/5): Smelt horrible could not breathe - Nothing I left after 2 hours of arriving Crackhead sleep outside the door, I arrived at 6am pitch black in sleeping area, used my phone to find floors filthy with other guests dirty clothes. Kitchen nasty. Asked for refund no response.
- Paula (4/5): No privacy - No privacy curtain and told not to put one up. Dirty overall feeling. Dirty dishes left in tv room area along with clothes basket. I felt i was in a male dorm room. Being a woman I did not take a shower due to wooden door slutter slots spaced a part far enough a person can see looking into the shower.
- Hernandez (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joavanny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lizeth (1/5): it was so dirty. the pillows were yellowish and dirty. the sheets where smelly like they were not washed. we had to loos - NOTHING. DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY thinking that you are getting something affordable. it a completely mess. it was so dirty. the pillows were yellowish and dirty. the sheets where smelly like they were not washed. we had to loose our money and find a another place because they won't refund your money if you cancel. it looks like people with no money at all live there. there were a Lott of objects like old bikes, engines, clothes and so on. DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY. it is not realistic with the price.
- Oscar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ali (10/5): - Cheap and a good stay
- Ali (10/5): - Great hostel
- Damian (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rene (1/5): Bad -
- Tara (8/5): Podshare dtla - We really liked the location of Podshare and the functionality of the place. It's something different and we wanted to give Podshare DTLA a try as we had seen others that were fairly similar.
The bed we had was super comfy and we slept so well. It's convenient and staff were friendly. The podshare provided a variety of electronics, food items, condiments etc which allows you to cook your own food if you need too. The bathroom was quite small. There are 2 individual toilets and 2 individual shower rooms. This made it difficult to get dressed without getting your dry clothes wet.
Some of the other people were smelly and lacking personal hygiene, such as bad body odor, not showering, dirty finger nails. This Is not podshares fault. But this was something we didn't like. And other people leaving their dirty dishes behind. So we didn't feel comfortable filling up with water as people had left things.
If you are looking to meet people, we would suggest that this might not be the place.
- Rene (1/5): Bad -
- Hernandez (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dawn (7/5): Good - Bathroom setup and cleanliness
- Kathleen (7/5): Good -
- Shakarian (9/5): Superb -
- tom (8/5): - Clean cheap friendly. Highly recommended for the back.packer
- Adam (7/5): Good -
- Jabus (5/5): Efficiënt check in and check out. - Liw cost Not easy to find
- Jabus (5/5): Passable -
- Tosin (2/5): - I checked in, but after the staff showed me my bunk I was highly irritated by the condition of the entire space. The pillows were very dirty with stains, and they didn't see to it that they were replaced for guest's health. I complained, but he seemed unbothered. The sinks were old and nasty.
I ended up leaving immediately after that. I couldn't sleep in such a place. Waste of money; hopefully I can get a refund.
- Nuan (9/5): Superb -
- Imran (4/5): Bad Experience don't believe the picture - Only the Bed was comfortable.. rest of the place is messy Staff was rude, place is very confusing no system of auto check in i have in.. nobody is available after 11pm for help if someone misses to check their email they. Might have to stay on road .. washroom is so tiny and it smells bad .. only book of you're short of money.
- Mahana (8/5): Very good -
- Lopez (7/5): Good - The bed, the bathing hose. No privacy, the beds could use some curtain to give a little privacy, the bathing room could be updated there was rust in the bathing walls, mold on the ceiling in the bathing room, no warm thick blanket a thick warm blanket could be provided and the building is outdated and in a unsafe looking area.
- Clayton (8/5): - Staff were lovely and super helpful, close to Union Station and little Tokyo.
- Alejandra (10/5): Cossy place - The beds are confortable Nothing I liked everything
- Raul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Taalaibekov. (1/5): Bad -
- Ddaedalus (5/5): Passable - The location is great for me. I love Little Tokyo. The idea of sharing pods is fine–it's like crashing on a friend's couch, who has a roommate. The vibe is no one really addresses each other or even acknowledges each other, which is fine. If you're looking for a place to just crash for the night, this may work. I think the location was ok, but be sure to read reviews about bed bugs. I stay in a pod share in San Diego and had tons of bed bugs bites and found reviews indicating that this was an issue. Perhaps bring your own sewn sheets?
- Yuko (10/5): Excellent location! Will stay here again. - 10min walk from Little Tokyo and union station.
Very convenient for me to go to anywhere in LA.
Front manager Ron is nice and hardworking.
Bed is comfortable to have a good sleep. Nothing.
- Kyoichi (5/5): Passable -
- Detrieck (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (8/5): A new concept, cozy and comfortable - The location is walking distance from Union Station, but a bus stops at the nearby corner and is a better option. This unique place is like a hostel but a little different, with beds in a large room arranged for some privacy. Upper beds are mostly reached by stairs instead of ladders, so each bed is like a berth on a submarine, maybe. Upper beds have a wire guardrail across the open side. You can hang a blanket or towel on this for added privacy. It is walking distance from restaurants. The location was a little hard to find. The shower looked sketchy, so I skipped it. The walk from Union Station included some narrow sidewalks, obstacles in the path, and deserted streets.
- Juan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Richard (1/5): Bad -
- zulkifli (6/5): - Cannot feel the ac at night. so hot
- Emili (1/5): So bad that I couldn’t even spend the night - . Everything
- Prashant (8/5): Very good -
- Patricia (8/5): Very good -
- Takisha (2/5): - Don’t stay at this property very dirty not clean at all no toilet tissue bathroom showers is so nasty please nothing lie the pictures not worth your money
- Jose (3/5): I was disappointed with the facilities. They charge higher as compared to other hostels in LA but the facilities are not - It is the closest one to the Union Station. I like beds of other travelers because they are wider and there’s more space. (They gave me a 2.5 feet X 6 feet x 2.4 feet capsule type bunk bed, the last available bed. If you are 6 footer and claustrophobic, you will be miserable!) i like the huge flat TV in the living room. And they have some parking spaces. The restrooms are quite small and the toilets are the cheapest kind. I used one of them and it moved. (Not properly installed. (I should know, i am a contractor)
- Raphael (8/5): you get what you pay for. if you’re traveling on a shoestring budget, this may help. - the location is awesome near to little tokyo station and union station.
the staffs are accommodating and easy to talk to. there’s no ac, it’s summer and I sweat much in the night. and our bedside electricity outlet is busted, so we have to charge our gadgets away below the bunk.
no privacy, nothing to cover your bed area when you sleep.
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional -
- stephanie (8/5): - Great place to sleep and very clean except for the sitting area it needs updated furniture ASAP
- Pamela (1/5): Would never recommend - Nothing No A/C, dark, unsafe
- Lady (2/5): - Residents had Covid when we got there, and we were not warned in the event we are immunocompromised. (I am)
We were not offered a refund and the company asked me on why I would choose a shared space if I was “sensitive to being in groups of people who may be sick.”
Podshare told Expedia that their staff would not have let anyone check in if they had Covid, but when I “checked in” by sending a photo of my ID over text, I was given a code to let myself in, as the company claimed all their staff were on leave.
No one actually spoke to me in person until over six hours later and I am still unsure if they were staff or a long term resident, but Podshare did instruct them to check in, at which time said person revealed at least one person had Covid and that we should “watch out for ourselves.”
The listing states it is a single floor, which is partly why I booked it, but there are beds off the ground, and we were assigned one. (I use a rollator)
The showers have A LOT of mold growing in them, and are used so frequently that a white, thick substances formed on the floor of them that was not cleaned away during the duration of my four night stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for a night - First impressions weren’t great as we didn’t receive an email on how to find the entrance despite informing them of our arrival time. When we did check in, lots of sirens went past so we weren’t hopeful. However the beds were comfy and big and the other guests were pretty quiet, quiet time was 10pm-10am but it was quiet the majority of the time. Bathrooms were very small but clean and the showers were lovely. Probably wouldn’t want to stay longer than a night due to lack of privacy and safe storage
- Kerem (1/5): Do NOT STAY!! Dirty, Uncanny, Moldy, Old... - Nothing was good. Do NOT make the mistake of staying here. Worst hostel experience of my life. The floors are very dirty, strange people stay inside, the smell never goes away. A BUG fell on my girlfriend and bit her. The bathroom walls are old, the bathroom is container like and moldy. I found someone's sock during my unfortunate 1 night stay. I am not even talking about the street of hostel. It is horrible at nights. Also, despite all my complaints and evidence, they did not refund my money. Nevertheless, it is so bad that I reserved another hotel and stayed there (no regret). Don't be a fool for a couple of dollars, choose a better hotel/hostel by allocating a slightly larger portion of your budget. If you choose to stay here, you will realize what a mistake you made from the first hour of check-in. This is my warning for all people who is planning to stay there. I got much more photos but you can see four of them.
- Leslie (10/5): - I was able to get early reservations and staff was friendly and people were respect
- Joavanny (10/5): It was a good stay overall - Well kept and good location
