- Jennifer (1/5): Deplorable Conditions/not habitable - Although the lady refused to allow me to cancel my room or reschedule for another day, she was friendly when I checked into the hotel at 3:45 in the morning. The location is also right off the freeway, so it’s not out of the way, but we didn’t stay for more than one hour because the conditions of the hotel room were absolutely deplorable. My car broke down in AZ but they wouldn’t let me reschedule for another day. I had to rent a car to continue my trip to make it in the middle of the night because they refused to help or be flexible. There were several cockroaches outside the room, gnats and mosquitoes flying around INSIDE the room, a hole in the wall, a dead mosquito in the bed under the top sheet, stained towels and sheets, and then we saw a very large black bug with wings crawling across the ceiling over the beds so we grabbed our things and left and didn’t actually sleep in the room. We just left the key on the dresser and fled

The bathroom fan was insanely loud. The room door was extremely difficult to open. There was mold on the curtains, bugs on the bed and floor. The WiFi was beyond spotty. The bath was dirty. Finally the ac was unplugged when we arrived so the room was hot and miserable. Not sure where are the good reviews are coming from.

The property looks like an old hotel from back in the HWY 66 days but it has been remodeled on inside of rooms and they are nice. Considering the price it is a good value and clean place to stay. I would stay again.

- Linda (10/5): - When we decided to take a Route 66 trip, we looked for things recognizable and were happy to see that the Blarney Inn in Shamrock, Texas, was still there. We remembered it being clean and comfortable, now it's SHINEY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. Even the small laundry was scrubbed after every use! If you are looking for a true Route 66 experience, choose the Blarney room with confidence; it's a true Mom and Pop Motel but extravagant compared to our stay 53 years ago.

The bathroom shower stall is a little quirky but shower worked fine. But if all you need is a place to lay your head, it was clean and the price couldn’t be beat.

The rooms are always clean and the service always incredible keep in mind. This is a luxury hotel, it’s a nice hotel on route .

Get dinner before you arrive, Shamrock closes early , and many of the restaurants listed on Yelp are permanently closed. Otherwise, McDonalds, Taco Bell or Subway are your choices.

It is funky, 50s or 60s vintage, no frills, a little shabby, but clean and comfortable. The parking is right in front of the rooms, which not always the case and it is all ground floor. Beds were fairly comfortable and the room and bathroom were both very clean. Night check in was easy and the woman who helped me was very polite. The heat/ac was not running when we checked in and took a while to get the large room to a comfortable temperature. The woman at the desk did warn me about the time it would take but it still wasn't ideal with small children on a chilly night.

Owner operators were very pleasant and accommodating. For the money, this place can't be beat for a restful stay on the road! Rooms are small but that's typical of Route 66 hotels and to be expected.
