- Fanny (8/5): -
- juan jose (10/5): -
- Knowles (9/5): - Everything the people were nice and greeting Nothing
- Nancy (10/5): It was perfect for what we needed. - It was convenient and the room was clean and comfortable. Shower was wonderful!!!
- Dee (7/5): I was completely comfortable. The room was clean,, and the staff were very, very nice.. - There just wasn’t much of it in much to choose from. Mostly cereal, yogurt, toast, and a few muffins.
- Rand (4/5): -
- Bethany (3/5): - It smelled so bad in the hallways and in the room. We didn't even stay we left that night and went home that night The smell and it wasn't clean in the bathroom
- Carolyn (4/5): - Room location Nonhandicap room, breakfast
- Giovanni (8/5): - Las alfombras estaban sucias y el desayuno malo
- Janelle (6/5): Okay frustrating on checking in - Location Receptionist couldn’t understand that we had a booking confirmed via Booking.com which was prepaid. She then made an additional booking in our name and double charged us for the stay.
- Veranda (10/5): - It was one of the most comfortable stays we’ve had in a while
- Jodi (4/5): Nothing exceptional - It was not the best place to stay. It was fine but there was nothing exceptional about it. The toilet was very slow to refill so we had to use the ice bucket to add water so we could flush the toilet. Minimal amenities like soap or shampoo. We didn’t eat the breakfast but from what I saw it was cereal and toast.
- Wendy (10/5): - Beds are as comfortable as at any Wyndham in a big city. There is no noise from any other room or outside.
- Steven (10/5): Great clean safe stay - Was clean and the gentleman at the counter was very friendly
- Darnia (10/5): -
- Malloy (8/5): -
- Debra Sue (4/5): - Rust on the ceiling in the bathroom. A little dirty. Fan didn’t work very well. TV would go off and on.
- Jon (10/5): - Nice place good staff
- Scott (9/5): I will stay again when I’m in the area. - Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms. Breakfast was not a strength of Perry, IA Super 8.
- Dan (4/5): - The room had a very musty smell to it, and it was very
hard to get rid of it. The room wasn't very clean----dried
pee on the toilet, and the floor was not clean---walking barefoot, you could stop on many things on the floor. We've stayed at Super 8's before, but this experience was probably our worst.
- Johnson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (6/5): - This hotel has seen better days. Curtains have spots that light comes through. Bedspread had a large stain on it. Blanket had what appears to be a cigarette hole. And the front desk isn’t manned.
- Curtis (4/5): Bed sheets were clean. Would not stay there again - Not expensive. Loud bathroom fan. Toilet wasn’t clean. Door was not secure.
- ARMANDO (10/5): - The property was perfect for what we needed the room was clean and very quiet felt safe...
- Denice J (6/5): - The hotel is old, but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast was...well...not breakfast. A few sweet rolls from a box, cold cereal and milk, and over ripe bananas....but the staff is very friendly...not a bad stay.
- Darnia (9/5): Superb -
- Darnia (9/5): Superb -
- Rusty (2/5): - Not a good experience
- Martha (8/5): - Convenient
- Brenda (10/5): - Desk staff was very helpful and friendly. We arrived quite late and had to help a handicapped member of our party get his scooter into the building and to his room. Front desk guy helped us find a place to deliver food to our rooms. When we were ready to checkout very early our last day, we woke him up to turn in our key cards, but he was still very accommodating and helpful. Clean rooms, comfy beds, and they even tidied our room while we were out.
- Allen (7/5): Was quiet and bed was comfortable - The window howled because of the wind blowing. It did stop as the wind calmed down. Found hair in bath tub
- Garrett (8/5): - I was in town for the BRR ride, paid a premium for the room based on availability, got the suite, nice and clean…and I checked for hitchhikers before settling in…trust me. The continental breakfast was lacking, but the coffee was hot…a bowl of cereal and a banana on the way out. I’ve had worse motel experiences. This was not bad. Would stay here again if the rate was a bit lower…I’d definitely compare pricing with the downtown hotel first.
- Darnia (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): - Renovations were nice!
- josh (10/5): - Every thing
- Darnia (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (4/5): Find another hotel - The sign in the lobby stating that guests have 15 minutes after check in to check their room and report any complaints says it all! If there was any other hotel in town besides a very expensive one that's out of my price range, I would have moved. I might commute from Des Moines next time I visit family in Perry. The room wasn't very clean, the floor sagged in a couple of places, the walls were so thin you could hear everything in the next room over or the one across the hall. Breakfast is limited and all pre-packaged food except the over-ripe oranges. Check in took a long time.
- Randy (7/5): Quiet, Comfortable, Relaxing - Convenience, Price Section of Breakfast
- Randall (7/5): Good -
- Mary (4/5): - If you just want a place to sleep it’s not bad but there was like zero breakfast food that was included and some creepy guy that lives there walking and smoking around at all hours. Didn’t feel the safest
- Jessica (8/5): - As the only place to stay within a decent budget and close to where I needed to be for work, this place was really decent. Everything was pretty clean - I think someone had left a used kleenex on the back of the door that housekeeping maybe forgot or just missed, but otherwise everything else was spotless. I was able to check in a little early also, with no problem. The only thing that was not great wasn't the property's problem. There was construction going on right next to the place that was annoying in the evening, but stopped well before dark so I was able to sleep peacefully. If ever I need to be in the area again and need a place to stay, I will come back here.
- Tetteh (2/5): - I didn’t check in and they 168.02 dollars I told them refund my money and they didn’t so am even planning to take them to court…
- Linda (10/5): - We always ask for handicap room. My partner us 92 years old and can not walk far. They always put us in a room the farthest from the door! So frustrating.
- Angelique (10/5): - Staff has always been so kind and welcoming
- David (6/5): - Breakfast offerings were only pastries and cereal and that was disappointing. The coffee was good.
The A/C unit was loud and kept us up most of the night.
- Dale (6/5): - The room was clean. The bed was ok. It was what we wanted and the price was right.
- Paulette (8/5): Very good -
- Rosa (8/5): Very good -
- Jeannine (8/5): - Clean and comfortable rooms.
- Penelope (2/5): Will not be booking a Super 8 hotel again - Ot took 15 min to check in even though i had booked online and when we can back that evening the attendant was sleeping on the couch in the lobby. The toilet ran all the time and breakfast was no more than coffee and cold cereal. Cant believe i paid almost $200.00 for our stay. This was the second time we stayed at a Super 8 in Iowa and both were terrible
- Dale (6/5): - The service and cleanliness were very good. The breakfast was below average. It was a good stay for the price.
- Denice J (8/5): - Room was clean. Smelled nice. Pets not allowed...a plus for us. Front desk staff very friendly. Breakfast VERY continental...but adequate for our needs. But, as in most hotels, sometimes the second person would like seating that is not the bed...like another chair. Pleasant stay
- Becky (8/5): Completely met our needs. The town of Perry, IA was - The staff/owner was very nice! The towels.
- BillS774 (8/5): Great Stay at a Fair Price - It is not the fanciest hotel but the room was clean and comfortable. The bedding was clean and mattress and pillows were comfortable. We were there when temperature was 15 below zero but the room heater kept us warm. Our car started fine except for the last day when it was 36 above zero. The night manager jump started our battery. Thank you for the excellent customer service. I would have given this establishment a 5 star rating if the breakfast offered more choices. All in all a good place to stay and will return.
- Kris (1/5): Don't even think about staying here - Shower was hot.
Location is fine if you're doing stuff in Perry, it's only 1.5ish miles from downtown. 1 light in the entire room worked.
Ceiling light was removed with a bag over the fixture.
Breakfast was 1 banana. Literally 1 banana for the entire hotel.
Coffee pots were broken.
Shower was either a mist or a jet stream.
Room service made the beds but didn't replace towels. Assuming the sheets were changed, just reused. Makes me think they were probably reused between guests too.
People are obviously living here, assuming the staff. They're all cooking their meals in their rooms and they make a ridiculous amount of noise ALL night. Doors slamming, feet stomping, etc.
- Stidam (10/5): Nice laid back place to stay that is not hectic. - Nice Peaceful place in a small town. Hotel is located at the edge of town. Traffic is not too congested. Will be back.
- Patrick (6/5): - Lots of noise and kids running around. I believe migrant worker families live here. If you want quiet you won’t get it here
- Ben (10/5): - Room was better than I expected. Very nice!
- Randy (4/5): - For the $ paid it was not clean.
- Monica (7/5): Good -
- Marjorie (4/5): - The motel was ok. there was a smell of old food cooking. Went to take a shower the shower did not work and old people in their 70s do not get down into a tub. When we went to report it there was no one around and the phone we were supposed to use if staff wasn't around just gave us a busy signal. We had to leave so couldn't stand around until someone showed up.
- Wendy (10/5): - Very quiet; quick check in with wonderful manager!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Look harder for the other hotel in this town. - Place was dirt, from trash overflow in the lobby, to the nastiness of the whole place. I paid at Hotel.com app and was billed twice on my card they took for essentials. Owners claimed to be learning a new system. I would have rather stayed in my vehicle for the hassle and condition of this property.
- richard (4/5): - Staff was friendly and helpful. Place was painted to dark, not enough lights in the rooms or hallways. Very dim lighting . No freebees and a very poor assortment of breakfast. No morning staff. What and where staff was there , they were very helpful . The motel was nothing to write home about. Over priced.
- Elizabeth (5/5): Mediocre - The beds were comfortable The trash outside the building was overflowing. The ashtray was overflowing. And they didn't have any extra pillows but at least there were no roaches this time.
- Catherine (8/5): Very good -
- laurencZ2177ZW (2/5): So gross! - This hotel room was one of the worst I’ve stayed at! When I got to my room the door was open not latched pushed it right open. One of the 2 queen beds was covered in stains of all colors and dark hairs. Looked like it hadn’t been switched out in a long time! Then I looked on the floor near the back of the bed to find rotting food! Also saw a man who appeared to be peeing on the building and the hall ways smelled like marijuana! Right before going to sleep I saw a few roaches on the wall! Also the blankets were so thin on the bed I froze, I had the heat up to 75 and was still very cold! This place was horrible and for $120 no thanks! Save your money and do not stay there!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointing to say the least - The concierge book in the room had mold growing in it. Chipped paint in the room on walls. Mattress was hard as rock. Mildew on shower faucet in bathroom. Strange stains on wall by sink. A wall light didn’t work. Outlets didn’t work for charging phones. Only 2 pillows on bed.
- Stidam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucas (5/5): Passable - Room was some what clean and well put together To expensive let alone guys fighting and yelling in the hallways and cops showing late in the night
- Katherin Marie (6/5): - It was convenient. But it was dirty. Sheets stained, mold in the bathroom and breakfast was cereal and honeybuns.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not as pleasant as I was told it would be. - Only 1 towel in the room, fridge was turned down while we were gone from the hotel, as the freezer was frozen when we arrived and the fridge cold. Later when we got back the freezer had defrosted and there was water in the fridge on my meds and water bottles. Good thing my meds did not spoil. No breakfast food for continental breakfast. Only juice and coffee. There was cereal, but no milk. Kids running halls upstairs until after 130am.
- Greg (2/5): Very poor -
- iowacityia (8/5): Saturday, August 27th stay. - My wife and I arrived before check in time, and asked if we could check in early. I also messed up the reservation and asked for a different bed configuration. The front desk clerk was very helpful, and helped us out right away. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and smelled good. Everything worked. The ac unit had a good constant fan option that was good for ambient noise overnight. And the room kept a comfortable temp throughout. The beds were comfy. We both slept very well. We mainly used the door at the far side of the building. I must say that just outside that door area was quite trashy. Kind of nasty. And I must also say that the breakfast was one of the lamest I have ever seen. Nuff said. The hy-eve just down the road provided us with a wonderful breakfast. In their defense, when I look back at my printed reservation confirmation, it does say twice, “free light breakfast”. I would call it ultralight. With that said, we did have a good stay. If the price was right I would consider staying there again.
- Allen (5/5): Passable -
- 121chuck (2/5): Dirty and smelly with surly staff - Hotel hadn't been vacuumed in months. Room smelled terrible while hallway reeked of marijuana. Broken window in first-floor room. Wouldn't close. Manager told me "It's only glass, it won't protect you anyway". Yelled at me for not accepting the room in that condition. Trash on floor of room at check-in. Room wasn't cleaned during my stay.
- Julia (8/5): Very good - Spacious and clean room More breakfast choices
- Cynthia (8/5): Clean & comfy - Simple but clean, friendly and comfortable. Nothing fancy but we didn't need fancy. Well pleased and we would stay again.
- lstahowick (6/5): Brr Rider - The room was clean but the blanket were thin on the bed so a bit cold. Make sure if you are the main level you do not stay in room 105 as everything going on in the lobby will wake you up. The breakfast was just cereal so not good for a gluten Free person.
Positive, no gross carpet on the floors and we got to wheel our bikes in.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Super 8 in Perry, Iowa - The room had bedbugs and roaches. Even checked the bed before I went to sleep but in the morning it was discovered that the bedbugs had come out in the night. Had several visible bites, and bugs were now visible in the bed. Checked out immediately. The desk clerk did not seem at all concerned. However, Hotels.com did refund the rest of the reservation and we found another motel. I stayed at this Super 8 several years ago and didn't have an issue with bugs, but this time around things had obviously changed. If you stay here, be sure to strip the bed sheets completely and check the mattress for bedbugs! Had to go through quite a process of cleaning clothes, showering multiple times, and throwing away my duffel bag to be sure I didn't bring the bedbugs home!
- Leonard (8/5): - Staff was caring and attentive. In areas not easily seen were dusty or not clean. Freezer in fridge was so full of frost
- John (4/5): - Confusion between what the clerk saw on his computer and what my confirmation from Expedia stated about our reservation.
Quality of bath towels was awful...thin and rough.
- Roger (8/5): Cycling option - We were on a biking tour of the Racoon River Valley Trail and were pleased that the owner allowed us to keep our bikes in the room. Though 1.5 miles from town and eating places, not a bad option for cyclists. However, breakfast was extremely skimpy.---choice of dry cereal or oatmeal and a packaged sweet roll and two dried up oranges. No toast. No waffle maker.
- Velvet (8/5): - Simple hotel. Quiet.
- Lou Ann (10/5): - Better breakfast
- Gary (8/5): - Nice and quiet. Bed was fine. Toilet was temperamental, sometimes the bulb in the tank did not come down properly so it leaked water and never filled the tank. The desk chair was in poor condition and should be replaced. Towels were thin and cheap.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good to stay for passing through .
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Property was attractive and well maintained. Close to local community amenities.
- Verified traveler (6/5): room - my key didnt work in the back door - told the front desk - they didnt do anything about it. went to return my key front door locked and lobby barricaded. This was kind of scary
- Marc (10/5): Friendly and clean - Friendly staff. Room was clean and updated only issue was tv remote didn’t work properly but wasn’t an issue cause we went straight to sleep.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Property was a bit in need of repair but everything worked.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Not worth the price.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel was good for my short stay.
- Matthew (8/5): Solo overnight while working the weekend - I've seen this hotel many times, but never stayed. It was a pleasant surprise. The room was in good condition, clean, and comfortable. I will stay again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet hotel with a very nice clean room. Breakfast was simple things due to covid
- Tim (4/5): Not recommended - No one manned the front desk. Had to reach for a phone behind the desk to call for assistance every time for assistance. Temperature below freezing and only had a light blanket on bed. Room had an iron but no ironing board. Offered free continental breakfast - coffee machine dispensed only hot water, offered fresh waffles but were the frozen type to warm in a toaster, other choice was cold cereal. Overall horrible experience.
