Guest Reviews
- Helbert (8/5): UBICACIÓN PRIVILEGIADA, COMIDA Y SERVICIOS BUENÍSIMOS Y AMABAILIDAD - LA COMIDA Y LA UBICACIÓN EL AGUA DE LA PISCINA ESTABA MUY FRIA, PERO DEBE SER POR LA TEMPORADA Y EL AGUA DE LOS CUARTOS ESTA UN POCO SALADA IGUAL COMPRENSIBLE
- danny (9/5): Klein eenvoudig hotel in authentieke rio lagartos - We verbleven hier 2 nachten.
- Kerstin (10/5): -

- Markus (7/5): -
- Sandra Albarran (10/5): - La vista Todo me gusto

- luca (7/5): -
- Michael (10/5): - Beautiful room overlooking the sea Cash only when we arrived
- Philippe (7/5): -
- claudia (8/5): bello - posizione puzzo a causa della laguna

- William (7/5): Very cute hotel on a beautiful part of México's Gulf Coast - Great location. Wonderful restaurant. Great staff. Late night street noise.
- Vanessa (10/5): - Nice little hotel. Very friendly people.
- Samo (9/5): Big promise but a lot of room for improvement. - Right on the waterfront. Beautifull rooom with a wanderfull view of the bay. Clean and comfortable. No english was spoken. The offered and promised wellcome margherita never came. Waiters at breakfast cound’t be bothered. Expensive tour offer at the front desk. Inquire at the guys standing at the pier opposite the reception.
- Joanna (9/5): Superb - Sea view, location, tasty meals in the restaurant Quite basic breakfast - no eggs, small rooms
- Luka (9/5): The best place to stay in Rio Lagartos - Welcoming and friendly staff. Good food. Best cocktails ever. Fantastic views of the laguna. Wouldn't mind returning to this charming establishment again. Pool stays shaded throughout the day due to the high wall separating the hotel from the neighbours. A well-placed mirror on the hotel's southern side reflecting some sunlight towards the pool might help to partially solve this issue.
- Carole-ann (9/5): Fantastic place for a short break - It’s location and comfort Nothing
- Rafaela (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and value for money. Nice beach front
- Camilo (10/5): Exceptional - Great stay
- Vardo (10/5): Definitely the best hotel in the area. - We got lucky, because we chose this hotel to be the last in our Yucatan trip. The hotel was just the best. Ideal location and views, spacious room, good restaurant, awesome staff.. everything You would like a hotel to be.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - The room was spacious and had a beautiful view and terrace. Delicious breakfast, great cocktails and food at the restaurant. Clean and full of light room. Plenty space to park the car just in front. This combined with the relaxed atmosphere at Rio Lagartos made it for a great destination stop! We certainly recommend!
- Claudia (8/5): In the middle of the fun of Rio Lagartos! - It had prime location on the water and close to everything. The restaurant on the grounds was lovely and had good food. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely return. There was no official parking which wasn’t a problem but might be in busier times. Would have been nice to have a small refrigerator to keep drinks cool or filtered water available at all times.
- Krista (9/5): Superb - There is a good restoran at the hotel.
- Carmen (8/5): - I think they should have more waiters, I didn't like that breakfast took too long, when there were no people.
- Piotr (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent place and very friendly people
- Geoffrey (8/5): Very good - Great location, helpful staff. WiFi was super slow, unusable. Probably due to remoteness of town.
- Krzysztof (8/5): Very good -
- Elmars (8/5): - Location is perfect for flamingo boat trips. Breakfast included is very basic. One should note, that property does not accept Apple pay or contactless cards.
- Mathilde (4/5): There seems to be better out there.. - Confortable large beds. Although a few of the staff were helpful, most seemed to not care. There was a hole in our bedsheet and stains. We inquired about getting our tv working and just got told it doesn't work and nothing would be attempted for it. They have about 10 cover songs playing on repeat all day long and only two sun chairs for the small and cold pool. Rustic bathroom. Passable breakfast. There seems to be newer builts better suited around the corner but it's ok for just one night if you are passing through just don't expect wonders.
- Greg (9/5): The staff was perfect from top to bottom - Food No massage avail
- Danine (8/5): Very good - We had a 2 night stay here. The room was comfortable and overlooked the water. Breakfast was included and was really nice. We also had dinner on one of the nights and the food was lovely. The kids enjoyed making use of the pool. Staff were helpful. The free wifi wasn't very good.
- Larissa (9/5): Not really a boutique hotel but the staff made it a fantastic stay - Location is A1 right opposite waterfront
Overall the nicest staff we’ve met so far in Mexico 😁 They could not have done enough for us
Beds comfortable
Delicious cocktails
Breakfast was fruit and croissant. It was also nice to have a bit of variety on the dinner menu to have a change from Mexican food. Although not the best food. Safes didn’t work
No fridge in one room
Fridge in other room was noisy
Wifi touch and go
Room doors very hard to open and close
Had to remove plug to drain shower
Road out front a bit noisy late on a Saturday night
- Armando (10/5): - Recomendado , muy buen trato
- Iris (8/5): Very good - Very friendly and helpful staff Air conditioner very old and slightly disturbing air. Shoalmost no water from showers
- Orlando (8/5): Very good -
- Dinalew (9/5): Superb - The staff was great and we enjoyed the restaurant.
- Rachel (6/5): Great location, tasty food and nice staff. - View of the water, pool and the bar / restaurant area where the shrimp quesadillas were super fresh and tasty. Water could have been hotter for the bath.
- Snogueira (6/5): Up to the price, no frill -
- Tana (8/5): Very good - Perfect location for birding activities in the morning
Very good breakfast/dinner and kind staff. We overall enjoyed the atmosphere of that place in Rio Lagartos. The bathroom needs an update.
- John (10/5): - Great view! Location was very nice and right across from the malecon. The pool was better than expected and great for cooling off in. The staff were very friendly and especially Bernaby (Barnaby) and Julie. We loved walking to Sendero Peten Mac and making use of a mototaxista Juan who we used for an excursion to San Felipe and Las Coloradas and playa Cancunito. Juan has a mototaxi that has good shade and he was friendly and pointed out crocodiles in mangroves at the side of the road. It was only 20 minutes by mototaxi to San Felipe and 40 minutes to Las Coloradas. You can contact Juan through the hotel’s front desk staff. The posted hotel rules regarding no outside beverages or food even in rooms, seemed very unreasonable and so we ignored the rule. We did also eat and drink in the hotel restaurant area.
- Jan (9/5): Cozy and comfortable accommodation for fair price. -
- Teresa (10/5): - For cleaning and nice bedroom and costumer services
- Primoz (9/5): Really friendly and helpful staff, had a great dinner there, great view from our room - Perfect view on a lagoon! it was windy, cold and raining, but that is not something a hotel is responsible for :)
- Beth (6/5): Great launching spot to take a boat out to the estuary to see birds. Don’t expect anything fancy. - Location is great. Right across from the pier to go out looking for birds in the estuary. Great balcony. Building is old and a little run down. The shower was a trickle. The pool was green.
- Grace (9/5): Great little hotel in friendly little town - Nice little hotel right on the estuary. all rooms have a view. The food is very good in the restaurant and there is a generous cooked breakfast included. It was very chilly and windy when we were there so we couldn’t go out on the water, but there is a very nice man across the road who does tours. We spoke with him. The woman at the front desk can direct you. We went to Los Colorados with our car rather than go on water but didn’t really see pink salt area because it was too cloudy. This is a very cute town too It would have been nice to have a couple of small chairs in the room. There was only one outside on tiny balcony
- Linda (8/5): Very good -
- Donna (10/5): Terrific Stay at Laidback Fishing Village - Loved our stay at the Yuum Ha. Great view of the bay and fishing boats. Enjoyed watching the pelicans and gulls pass by our window. Friendly service. Enjoyed breakfast both mornings and dinner one night on the patio. Easy to stroll along the beach/walkway to other restaurants. Parked on the street in front of the hotel. We are so glad we decided to stay at this hotel in this laidback fishing village.
Got up at 5:30 am to take a birding tour where we saw dozens of flamingos and many other varieties of birds. Perfect way to start the day. We had made arrangements for a tour before we arrived, but there are many tour operators waiting to help you when you get there.
- C (7/5): Great location with a restaurant in Rio Lagartos. - The view from our room across the lagoon was great. Convenient to walk around Rio Lagartos town. While we didn't use the pool, it looked great. Also, the restaurant was very good, serving local seafood. Outdoor dining and bar by the pool. Hot water for showers.
- Grace (9/5): Great little well run boutique hotel in beautiful spot - There is a beautiful view of the estuary from the window, and it was Fun to watch the fishermen and bird. The staff are very nice and helpful. We had both breakfast and lunch there and both were excellent. Nice bathroom and good bed. Unfortunately there was a little cold snap so we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor areas. There is a very nice man across the road at Meme tours who we discussed going out on boat excursion but we ended up not going because it was chilly and we are wimps. Ahis price seemed fair compared to other operators we used in the past . We ended up driving out to Los Caolorados town instead and looked at some of the beaches and the pink water there. A very cute little nearby place to visit Room could have used a second chair. As place is on the street and water, there are motorbikes, engine noises, and down in restaurant and or maybe nearby loud music till rather late. Dogs barking. Well this is what we usually find in so called sleepy towns😀
- Roy (5/5): Passable - It has a problem with hot water and a bathtub which you can only fill with cold water. The bath was the reason we chose this hotel, so disappointed 😞
- Maud (7/5): Good -
- Laxmi (8/5): Lovely sea facing hotel at great location - Great location, right in front the bio reserve and boat tours. Sunset and sunrise were gorgeous. Short 20mins drive to pink crystalizer. Liked the view from sea facing rooms with huge glass windows. Not much vegetarian options in the menu but it seemed like that’s the best we could get in the entire rio lagartos.
- Jacek (9/5): Superb - Everything was great.the location is near the water and close do sunset. Dinner was fantastic. The dog was barking and waking us up few times in the night. It seems like the dog was in one of the rooms, i dobt know. Breakfast could be a bit better, not only croissant, but maybe eggs. Abd the toilet was not working properly.
- David (10/5): Good deal - Location, Waiters, room price The noise
- Ehj (8/5): Very good - Great bed. Excellent restaurant. Beautiful view Breakfast smallish.
Room needs painting and new furniture.
- Christophe (10/5): Exceptional - Top emplacement.
Top service
Top bar / restaurant
- Victor (1/5): Bad - Never reply, tried to contact but never take in mind. Staff attendant
- Anette (10/5): Dejligt hotel - Hyggeligt lille hotel med god stemning, dejlig mad og skønne drinks. Personalet er meget hjælpsomme.
- Maria Antonieta (10/5): - Excelente
- Alison (10/5): Stay here. - This little property is fantastic- a real gem. It’s great value for money. The views from the bedrooms are amazing. The rooms are big. The beds are extremely comfortable. I don’t sleep well and I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in months. The staff are friendly, professional and kind. I’m allergic to wheat and they made me a separate breakfast and generously didn’t charge extra. We had the whole fish as an evening meal- it was very good- restaurant in the hotel is excellent and a very reasonable price. Parking was just by the side of the hotel and very safe. Nothing. It was all great.
- Schmumina (7/5): Simple hotel with a nice view - Staff was very friendly and helpful but didn't speak much or no English at all... The room had a nice view to the lagoon, dinner was very tasty Water pressure is horrible, water is smelly, old fashioned furniture in the room
- Lourdes (8/5): Very good - The all complex was nice end cozy A tapping sound at night in the room for about 8 hours that we couldn't rest
- Thomas (7/5): Good -
- Federica (8/5): Very good -
- Marina (7/5): Good -
- Marie (8/5): Very good -
- Petroula (7/5): Good location but the hotel should be better maintained. - The Hotel on first glance was fine and location was right by the pier. The view from the balcony was brilliant but the port is dirty and smells, so not a pleasant sight. The people working there were very nice. The food and frozen margaritas in the restaurant were excellent. Don’t miss the pulpo ceviche and Filet mignon. However lots of things went wrong. The shower/bath was clogged in both our rooms and even after cleaning the water still did not drain at all. The internet at TV in the rooms was no.n existent.
