Guest Reviews
- Stephen (8/5): - The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a large mix of cereals, oatmeal, granola bars, drinks. Location was convenient and about a 30 minute straight shot to Bar Harbor, closer to many other locations at Acadia National park such as Cadillac Mountain or Jordan Pond. While this hotel needs updates, I was very happy with the value and location and would not hesitate to stay here again.
- Lesley (4/5): - The place is just really worn and tired.
- Joe (6/5): - The room was large and quiet. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small and outdated. The inn is about thirty minutes from Acadia Ntl. park.
- Daniel (4/5): - For the price we paid it was horrible.
- Lynnette (8/5): - Very clean and comfortable. Nice to have free parking.
- M. Lisa (8/5): - Quiet area and easily accessible to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
- Robert (8/5): - Older hotel but kept very clean. Room was clean and had basic necessities. Very quiet and restful. Staff was very accommodating. Very good value compared to other hotels in the area.
Continental breakfast included cereals, juice, coffee, etc.
Would definitely stay here again when next in the area.
- Samuel (6/5): - This isnt exactly the facilities fault but Expedia needs to include more descriptions than "breakfast included" because while the coffee was amazing, they only had pre-packaged cereals and granola bars. I could have done that. That was by far the most disappointing. I specifically got this hotel because others in the area didnt include breakfast; I paid more for this motel under the impression I wouldn't have to cover breakfast the next day. Granted, they are dog friendly, so I understand the packaged food, but regardless, we need more than "breakfast included" as a description, please. I'm really disappointed in this app more than the place itself; this isn't the first time this has happened.
- EDWARD (10/5): - Friendly and clean
- David (10/5): - Nothing fancy but clean and met my needs
- Colleen (10/5): Great stay. - Very friendly staff, cute motel, comfortable and spacious room. Right across the street from bird sanctuary and pretty hiking trails. Breakfast was a welcome treat.
- Mohammed Nafeez (6/5): - Property is old and you can feel it when you enter the room. The smell around the room is a big turn off.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a good experience, with a friendly staff at the front desk as well (they forgot to add to a crib/pack and play to our room, but made a great effort to resolve it)
- Janna (6/5): - We enjoyed the property and the pool. We were shocked at the price of breakfast.
- James (6/5): - I usually stay at a Fairfield Inn or other Marriott property where the rooms are cleaner, newer and more modern. This motel was about $100 per night more expensive and did not have much of a breakfast. I would not stay here again
- Bradley (6/5): - Sketchy groups staying at property. Okay for me but would not have been acceptable if my family was present.
- Simon (8/5): - Good hotel and friendly staff. Motel room had an old feeling due to old carpets and furniture but I noticed pleasant renovations on other rooms.
Some folks hanging around the property that seem to reside here permanently. But overall they did not bother us and were friendly.
- Donna401 (10/5): - Staff was very helpful and accommodating. We're so glad that we chose this hotel. Nice central location near restaurants, shops, etc.
- Jamie (6/5): - Clean property. Not family friendly as thry have people staying there long term and we didnt feel safe being around them.
- ROBERT (10/5): - The front desk folks were outstanding. Very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. We highly recommend this motel
- Theresa (8/5): - Bummed about no pool for the cost and location and breakfast could have been better for the cost!
Friendly staff, close to shopping center.
Clean room.
- Martin (10/5): - Staff was very nice.
- Stephen (6/5): - Accommodations were acceptable. Breakfast was limited. Room was dated and as a result appeared dirty.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good for a one night stay
- Nathaniel (6/5): - The property is quite old, including the rooms, decor, bathroom, and amenities. The breakfast is also minimal (cereal bars, coffee, apple sauce, etc.) and not worth going down for. However, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Ronald (6/5): - Staff was friendly. BUT, the facilities NEED a major upgrade! They have started but have a long way to go.
- Lesley (10/5): - Great convenient accommodation
- Beth (8/5): - This is a no frills lodge. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. Just wish the breakfast was more than granola bars and cereal. Better coffee would be nice too.
- Michael (8/5): - Older motel in good condition. Friendly staff. Great location. Breakfast is only cold cereal. Would like to see more options for a continental breakfast. Coffee and juices were fine. Would stay there again.
- Constance (10/5): - Clean and quiet, close to everywhere needed
- Marie (6/5): - Older hotel with room keys. Liked the sink outside of the bathroom. Staff was friendly
- Steve (4/5): - Although breakfast was advertised, none was available. Moreover, there was no maid service--we returned from the day to find an unmade bed and used towels where we left them. Overall a poor experience. Would not recommend.
- Sherry (8/5): - One night stay. This is not a high end hotel. We found it charming, and met all our needs
- Diane (10/5): - Love the breakfast nook and being able to get coffee tea or hot cocoa at all times!!
- QI (10/5): - Nice stay for a trip to Acadia
- Shiv (8/5): - Conveniently located near the Acadia Park. Hotel manager Jenna is very professional and friendly.
- LIE XIONG (8/5): - Nice
- Melinda (10/5): - Great place to stay!
- bruce (10/5): - Clean quiet good price
- WILLIAM (6/5): - New pillows needed
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Terrible breakfast.
Although situated close to a main road, the hotel was at a sufficient distance and sufficiently sound-proofed that traffic noise was not an issue
Probably stayed at a peak time (fall colours) which meant a high price. Compared to other hotels on our trip this provided the least value for money
- 378ellenk (8/5): A pleasant surprise - This motel was a pleasant surprise. We had planned to stay in Bar Harbor while visiting Acadia NP, but no affordable rooms were available for our travel dates. We ended up at Eagle's Lodge where the room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, and affordable restaurants were only a few minutes away. The simple breakfast offerings were too meager for us, but that was no problem with good diners nearby. Adding a restaurant bill to the motel's daily rate was still far more affordable than a room in Bar Harbor during foliage season. I'd be pleased to return here the next time I visit the area. A note on traffic: there are certain times of day when Route 3 onto Mount Desert Island becomes congested; keep an eye on your navigation app for traffic alerts.
- Lisa (10/5): - This was a very nice budget-friendly place to stay to enjoy Ellsworth (a lovely small town) and Acadia NP.
- Linda (8/5): - Great staff
- Jeff (6/5): - Value was fine. Property definitely dated, hallway smells.
- jared (6/5): - It was an OK place to stay. It would not be my first choice to stay again. Parking was free. Breakfast was only coffee, juice, and cereal. Rooms were old and dated.
- Barb (8/5): - We were traveling with a
dog, so our choices of hotels was limited. This motel is older, but very clean and worked well for us.
- Simon (8/5): - We stayed 4 days and 3 nights in this motel. Our experience checking in and out was smooth. The receptionist was pleasant and accommodating. The room was relatively clean. The breakfast offered coffee, tea, chocolate, and juice, whereas cereale is served with variety of choice. The place is quiet and clean on the whole, and it is located near shopping and dining places.
- 66ellieh (6/5): Disappointed - I rated this a 3 simply because of the price compared to other hotels in the area. It has an overall rating of 4 on trip advisor and in comparison to other hotels with a 4 I was very disappointed in the hotel. Breakfast was nothing but coffee, hot chocolate and a bowl of cereal. The room was ok but I did not feel like it was overly clean. I would not stay here again if I could other reasonable accommodations. They should not even say breakfast is included.
- Robert (10/5): - Friendly, helpful..parking full on arrival, tour buses took 2 spaces each,,,nothing walkable..travel to town. Required drive in opposite direction, then cross over thru lights to head back towards town. Ice machine empty, all taken. No electric in bath/sink area for hair dryer, etc.
- Charles (4/5): - Definitely a 2/5. Carpet in room was either dirty or stained. Interestingly, there was a mini fridge and microwave in room, but no coffee maker. Entrance is on a one way street, so if you miss it, it's about a mile around the block to get back. No hair dryer in room. Very nice manager, felt very safe there. Poor water pressure but great hot water.
- Margaret M. (8/5): - Front desk clerk at check-in was very gracious and patient!
- Norman (8/5): - 5 night stay, plain but clean and friendly. Hard turn off highway and unattractive entrance from highway, staff is great, good privacy. They do not come into your room to clean unless asked to, which is kind of odd but a nice feeling of privacy, almost like an efficiency apartment for the stay. Breakfast has great coffee selection (24 hours a day), but heavy on sugary cereals, breakfast bar, fruit cup, juices available.A toaster and some bread or bagels would have been nice, and maybe some yogurt cups..Location great for access to national park or Bar Harbor or Bangor airport with rental car. Quiet, comfortable bed, bathroom not fancy and a little worn. Overall I would stay again. Staff really helps you feel at home.
- 371garyf (8/5): Not bad - Not a bad place to stay. Very close to many shops and restaurants. Plenty of free parking. Just be careful...the motel is located on a one-way street, so do not turn the wrong way when you leave. Prices were competitive with other motels in the area. Staff was very friendly. Free breakfast is VERY simple. My biggest complaint was the TV. The signal kept freezing every 10 seconds, making it pretty much unwatchable. Beds were also very firm.
Otherwise not a bad place to stay.
- Melissa (10/5): - It was a nice little hotel nice price for our budget traveling
- Sherrie (8/5): - Worked well for our trip to enjoy the Sunrise Trail, dog friendly and fairly close location to trail start. Staff was friendly.
- Peter (8/5): - The property is outdated however the room was very clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. It was also very quiet, had a great sleep.
Staff were very nice.
- david (8/5): - Old property but clean and staff were friendly
- William (8/5): - Property is pretty worn but clean. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was only cereal and coffee.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay! - Everything went well during check in. Lacey was very nice and informative during the check in process. Affordable rates and met all our needs.
- Kenneth (10/5): - very nice hotel. Clean andquiet.
- Fleur Angeli (10/5): - we had a great stay
- Kathy (10/5): - Comfortable but older. No elevator and we were on the second floor so we had to carry up the luggage. But otherwise very good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice location for a few days to roam around Acadia and surrounding area. Nice, comfortable. Breakfast of cold cereal, bars, instant oatmeal available which we enjoyed before heading out for the day.
- Peter (8/5): - Location is good. Right on the road that leads to Acadia National Park, about 25 minutes away. Also near a Walmart and other stores. There is no elevator to the 2nd floor. The room was very spacious but did not have a clock. The breakfast was very basic. Just cereal and oatmeal. Coffee tea and juice are available all day.
But I would definitely stay here again.
- Rolla (10/5): - This hotel is clean and comfortable. Easy access to shopping and dining! Also, just a 30min drive to Bar Harbor
- Susan (6/5): - This property appears to not have had any care taken since it was first built.
- Claudine (4/5): - Extremely overpriced for a motel that hasn’t been updated since it was built. They literally didn’t even have a single extra pillow to offer when ours were completely flat. Cold cereal and oatmeal for breakfast. They even ran out of granola bars the second night.
- Pamela (8/5): Good value for the area - Clean and quiet. Minimal breakfast but as expected for a 2 star hotel. Good coffee selection available 24 hours a day. Helpful friendly staff.
- Benjamin (10/5): - Great value, very courteous staff
- Pierrette (8/5): - quiet area
- Verified traveler (4/5): Nice people but the Motel is a teardown - Nice enough folks but the property is way past it's prime. It' was likely past it's prime 30 years ago. You can't even gut renovate this - this is a teardown. Do not recommend staying. Which is a pity since the people working there are really nice.
- Steven (8/5): - Eagle's Lodge was safe, quiet, affordable, and comfortable, with a helpful staff and a limited continental breakfast.
- wayne (10/5): - Nice second floor room on back side=QUIET!
- Kryn (8/5): - Grab and go breakfast was great!
- Frank (8/5): - The people are trying very hard to have a nice place.
- David (8/5): Very Nice Hotel - Very nice hotel. Breakfast could be stepped up a notch. Pastries, for example.
- Christopher (8/5): - The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel was an easy drive to events we were attending in Bar Harbor.
- Alana (6/5): - We were only there for one night and it was sufficient. Very friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean Convenient & Cozy - Stayed here while hiking @Acadia. Vintage motel with clean spacious rooms & friendly helpful staff. Convenient to shopping & dining. Reminds me of motels my family visited when I was a kid. Blueberry coffee was delicious. Lovely sunset from our room
- Thomas (8/5): - Needed a 1 night stay near Bar Harbor. The room was clean and a good size. The restaurant recommendation was very helpful.
- Edith (8/5): - The hotel is very quiet and family oriented. The location is perfect because it's close to everything.
- lisa (10/5): - A simple and affordable place to sleep during our trip. Conveniently located.
- Deanna (10/5): - convenient to where we needed to be. Quiet
- Darlene (10/5): - It is a little outdated but clean and staff was wonderful!
- Jeffrey (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay at this motel. It is a short drive (20 miles) from Acadia National Park and directly across the street from a bird sanctuary with hiking trails.
The staff was always very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was pretty spartan but it did not ruin the stay.
- BrianH5779 (10/5): A good limited service motel - Enjoyed my stay with two dogs during a recent extreme heatwave. The room was exceptionally clean with strong A/C. The price is a fraction of what I would have payed in Bar Harbor or one of the chain hotels in Ellsworth. Breakfast is OK, but would be so much better with microwave Jimmy Dean sausage and egg biscuits or Grandys of Maine oatmeal cups. Then again, with all the money you will save you can eat breakfast out and still save considerably. The GM, Charity was there to assist with any questions or needs. I will stay in the future without hesitation.
- Melanie (6/5): - Employees were pleasant, it’s low key, pet friendly. The coffee not so good, breakfast was limited but better than nothing. There was a small odor in hall but the room was fine. My mom who is elderly liked it had grab bars in the shower. They brought us a dog bowl and bone upon arrival very sweet for my pup. It was safe. Definitely needs updates. Ok for the night even a couple of nights would be ok. It’s a motel
- Jeff (10/5): - Excellent for the price. Staff was great, rooms are clean.
- Laurie (6/5): Disappointed Patron - I would not stay here again. On the add it shows a beautiful pool that we now know has been closed for a year. The add should state that. The continental breakfast is so sparse we had to go to breakfast so we could continue on our vacation. Extremely disappointing.
- Pamela (10/5): - Very clean and staff very helpful and friendly. Would stay there again.
- Mike (10/5): A good deal for the price. - We needed a reasonably priced hotel close to Arcadia and this hotel fit thr bill. It is an older property, but they keep the rooms clean and offer coffee and a variety of cereals in the morning. It is pretty close to the park and Bar Harbor. If you are on a budget, and plan to stay a few days, we recommend you consider this option.
- jijun (6/5): - Breakfast is not good.
- jake4949 (10/5): Great value - This is a very nice motel; and as important the service is above and beyond. Night clerk was willing to help us twice regarding an issue, completely pleasant attitude. Nice breakfast, FRESH coffee all day, big rooms and most importantly, great shower.
- Mike (10/5): Great room for family of 5! - This place was amazing! Would definitely stay again!
- Debbie (6/5): - It was ok but very much an older hotel.
- Ted (8/5): Close to Acadia National Park - The hotel was not very bad at all. I did have one issue with the internet not working in my room. I told the front desk about it and she said it was working fine on her phone but her phone wasn't in my room. I didn't expect her to fix it or anything, I just wanted to let her know it wouldn't connect in my room. In any case she said there was nothing to do about it. You are about 1/2 hour from Acadia so that is nice. The room was clean and the amenities were nice. The only other problem was someone above stomping on the floor at 4 AM. This isn't a management problem but it wouldn't hurt to notify guests on the 2nd floor to not stomp on the floors.
- Sandra (8/5): - Roomsneed 2 chairs!
- Michael (4/5): Hope you like the smell of cigarettes - It’s outdated. Needing an overhaul. Expected so much more for the close to $200 a night I paid. The room was dark and smelled like a carton of cigarettes and it was a non-smoking room.
