Timothy (9/5): Quaint Lodge, clean and delightful. - Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Lovely setting with an easy walk to the lake. Nice surprise to have chocolate chip cookies waiting for us in our room. Somehow, we were overlooked for the blueberry muffins in the morning but the staff were quick to correct that. Lovely stay at a quaint lodge. Loved our experience. no elevator but the staff did offer to assist us with our luggage, sadly we were there when the breakfast was on hold but we were told of places in town to get breakfast, which we enjoyed very much.

Everyone was so warm and welcoming that we didn’t feel like we needed to leave the hotel for sightseeing. Great experience. We felt the price was a little high, but we don’t travel much to make a good comparison.

June (9/5): Wonderful anniversary weekend at the Leland Lodge - My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Leland Lodge to celebrate our anniversary. The location is in walking distance to shopping and fishtown. The staff at the lodge are all very friendly and helpful. There are thoughtful touches throughout the property, from complementary snacks and drinks, continental breakfast, extra towels and toiletries, the use of bikes and a fire pit. The facilities are clean and the beds are comfortable. There is a restaurant onsite, we did not eat there but other guests did and they enjoyed their meal. The only thing missing from the property are a pool or a hot tub.

The reception staff were exceptionally welcoming, they gave us a tour of the property and explained everything about breakfast. The lodge has a charming, old-fashioned coziness, and everything was very clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the view of the golf course was beautifully relaxing. The walls are a bit thin, so we could hear some noise from neighboring rooms, but fortunately, everyone was quiet and respectful.

804dianes (10/5): Fabulous Local Lodge - Leland Lodge is a beautiful, historic place w/ in walking of distance of town. The gardens are extraordinary and having breakfast outside overlooking a golf course or nestled among the flowers is a truly special way to start your day. We had a room above that course w/ views of Lake Leelanau in the far distance. Continental breakfast is included w/ fresh, house baked scones & muffins. The dining rooms & bar are well staffed providing great local beer & wine as well as delicious food. Be aware that all rooms but one are located on the 2nd floor w/ no elevator.

Rhonda (10/5): The Perfect Luxury Lodge Vacation - We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at The Leland Lodge. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Brian, the Manager, went above and beyond to accommodate our stay. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The bedding is luxury sheets and down comforters with very comfortable mattress. The rooms are quiet. The food is exceptional. The location was perfect. A five minute walk to main street to shops and restaurants. There is a beautiful, sandy beach on Lake Leelanau a five minute walk the other side of the inn. The Leelanau Bike Trail, The Sleeping Bear Heritage Bike Trail, and The Betsie River Bike trail are all a short short away.

Vacation42792 (10/5): A Perfect Lodge Vacation - We celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary at The Leland Lodge. We had a wonderful tome biking the Leelanau Trail, The Heritage Trail and The Betsie Trail which were all short drives away from the lodge. We stand up paddle boarded on Lake Leelanau which was a 5 minute walk from the lodge. The beach was beautiful with crystal clear water and a sandy bottom. We enjoyed picnics on the beach and relaxing with a beverage and a book in one of the many sitting areas inside and outside of the lodge. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast had a wide variety of selections including fresh baked scones, bananas, cereal, yogurt, bagels, toast, oatmeal, coffee and juice. There are well maintained bikes free to use for guests as well as games and puzzles. Upon request an outdoor bonfire will be lit for your enjoyment. There is a hill that would be wonderful for sledding. Many of the rooms have two Murphy beds and a sleep sofa bed. Leland Lodge is perfect for both a romantic vacation or a family vacation.

Blanca (10/5): Wonderful summer stay! - I did not know they offered any breakfast (which it was a pleasant surprise). However, I would advertise it as complementary coffee and pastries, (fruit and yogurt and cold cereal) no warm/hot food or toast. They do offer 24-hour access to complementary refreshments for overnight guests, which is amazing. I don't think there is much to do about this, but the room where we stayed it was easy to hear the next room's tv (probably they could hear ours too) and some talking, which it was a little weird, but not a big deal. I would definitely go back to the Leland Lodge just because it is a lovely place.
Dawn (9/5): Superb - Great Location, very homey feel, great deck over looking the golf course, easy walk into town and fishtown. Free use of bikes. GREAT BED. Clean. Quiet. Our room was the smallest of the standard kings. No desk or chair in the room. On Sundays there is no foodservice and the lights are dimmed in the main room. We could not find a good table to do computer work and play board games after dark. I was also not impressed by the food in the dining room. The food was cooked well just no flavor (salt and pepper or spices added).

Reminded me of a cross between a traditional lodge and a luxurious boutique hotel. Great wood working throughout which makes for a nice aesthetic. Great restaurant with a wonderful terrace to have your pre dinner cocktails. The view is amazing looking out at Lake Leelenau. Short walk into town and the wonderful beach, perfect little farmers market on Thursday morning just a few steps away. All together a lovely place that I'll go back to. Wish I could have stayed longer :)

Aimee (10/5): A magical, memory-making stay at the Leland Lodge! - We had the most wonderful experience at the Leland Lodge—truly a gem tucked into one of Michigan’s most charming towns. Brian, the lodge manager, was amazing—so gracious and thoughtful. We had communicated by text before our stay, and when we arrived, he had generously upgraded our family to one of the cabins. It felt like stepping back in time to the classic family lodges of the 1950s, but with all the modern comforts. The cabin was spotless and well-appointed, with a great layout and both a front and back porch. Our kids loved having the lodge bikes to ride into Fishtown for shopping, fresh whitefish at The Cove, and dips in the crystal-clear (and refreshingly cold!) Lake Michigan. Watching the sun set over the Manitou Islands was pure magic. We made such special memories and are already dreaming of our return. Thank you, Brian and the Leland Lodge team, for an unforgettable stay!
Richard (8/5): - Have stayed here many time over the years, but haven’t been back in about five years until this stay. Rooms are getting quite a bit tired. It’s a charming rustic facility but still they need to keep up with updating their rooms. I will say that the dining experience has been upgraded tremendously. We ate there as a couple on Monday night and brought a group of 12 for the Davison Reunion on Wednesday. Food was excellent, service was excellent, and we are so happy that they have upgraded the restaurant. We were supposed to have received gift cards, free, wine, and other things, including a room upgrade, which we never got. Not sure we’d stay there, but we definitely go back for the food.

Carla (9/5): Superb - Gorgeous location. Breakfast could be a little more generous and inviting (compared to what we see in most other locations). There are not many breakfast options nearby. But everything was great.

Joelle (10/5): Amazing stay! - I loved my stay at the Leland Lodge! It was located just down the road from downtown Leland. The beds were super comfortable, lodge was clean, great amenities! Would definitely stay here again.

The room was spotlessly clean and had a cozy, comfortable feel that made us feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—always ready with a smile and helpful recommendations. The location is very convenient—close to everything in Leland yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and quiet. It was the perfect balance. We also really enjoyed the dining options on-site; the food was delicious and offered something for everyone without needing to leave the property. Whether you're looking for a relaxing getaway or a home base for exploring the area, the Leland Lodge is a great choice. We’ll definitely be back!

nicolettes712 (8/5): Definitely worth staying here. . . - This is a lovely little hotel located in a great spot on the shores of Lake Michigan. (Not lakefront but within a very short walk). Beds were comfortable, room was large and could easily accommodate a family. Bath products were great though the bathroom itself was tiny. I liked the rustic decor and the overall ambiance. Coffee as part of the continental breakfast was bad (I am a coffee snob) but good coffee is available a short walk away. Staff was a bit too attentive - woman chased me out of the hotel when I brought down suitcases on the day we were leaving at 8 am to make sure I checked out. My husband was still in the shower! Cookies left in the room were really good and a nice touch. Final bonus - the robes provided fit around a plus size person and that was awesome.
