- Patricia Jones (9/5): - N/A N/A
- Kluck (9/5): Whiskey was great. -
- Gonzalo (8/5): -
- Ed (9/5): A nice central location close to plenty of places to see. - A great location near to MRT and all.of Chinatown and the Quays. The rooms are small but prices accordingly.
- lelani (8/5): Great location, transportation accessible, restaurants around the area - Location Rooms too small
- Marilyn (3/5): - It was an ideal location at the edge of Chinatown. The room was so small and crowded, and I couldn't even open my suitcase. The shower was not separated from the toilet and sink. Everything got wet whenever I showered, so all my toiletries had to go on my bed. It also had a moldy smell.
- Bandhita (4/5): - Best location, super-fast Wi-Fi Lift (elevator), the room that merged wet area and dray area. The room is very humid.
- David (10/5): - Perfect location. Easy walking distance to two MRT stations.a d several fascinating places to visit. Good bar and restaurant and friendly helpful staff. A little noisy from the bar, but finished fairly early so not a big issue.
- P2479JRjustinc (2/5): Hostel at Hotel Prices - Mold Everywhere - I'm staying in this place now and wouldn't recommend it.
- Mold everywhere (sink, shower, ceiling)
- Dirty surfaces (chair, floor)
- Loud at night (loud karaoke outdoors - shakes the windows)
This is a hostel at hotel prices. Was counting down the hours to leave Singapore from this experience.
- U2776XMpierrec (6/5): Enough to sleep - The hotel is well placed next to Chinatown. The price is reasonable for Singapore. The room was really small for two people (10 to 12 m²). There was a double bed that took up more than a third of the room’s surface. Three of its sides were against a wall. Therefore, it was necessary to pass over the person who had no wall.
A quarter of the room is occupied by a bathroom and the toilets. The rest of the surface area does not allow for opening a suitcase. As soon as we need to take something from the suitcase, it must be placed on the bed, pick up what we need, close it and put it back upright on the ground.
The room was clean, the bed comfortable, but the surroundings were noisy. Indeed, there is a bar above that plays music in the evening until midnight.
In conclusion, it’s enough to sleep but nothing else.

- Mr M to you. (8/5): Ideal hotel for a short stay - A small "compact" room - almost everything was within reach (!) but I was only staying one night. There is a lively bar downstairs and the hotel is very close to Chinatown. We arrived early and the hotel were happy to store bags whilst we explored Chinatown and had lunch. On checkout, they were again happy to look after our bags whilst we were out and about. Nothing comes to mind!
- Sara (7/5): - posizione molto buona, a 20 minuti da marina bay. Pulizie ottime, ricambio di asciugamani quotidiano.
- Ronald (2/5): - Room appeared to be clean, however, there was black mould on ceiling, also a small hole in ceiling that dripped water, just missing bed. Had no interaction with the staff, after check in. Don't know, didnt stay long enough to go shopping. Air conditioning unit was noisy, so had to turn off until it was to warm, so then turned back on to cool room. Room was sold as a Deluxe Queen room!! There was nothing Deluxe about to room!! Small with just enough room for bed with 2 side cabinets, wardrobe space!! Consisted of a 200mm deep frame on wall that had 3 hangers in!! No where to put case to open to retrieve clothes other than putting it on the bed. Loud live music from the bar, was very evident from the room, which went on until late. My room was on the 4th floor, but lift only goes to the 3rd floor!! And safety wise, there was only 2 rooms at this level in a dead end corridor only means of escape in an emergency was down to floor 3 to fire escapes? I booked this Hotel over 6 months ago, so expected to be given a decent room!! Not the room in the attic, very disappointed with hotel and Hotels.com. are these hotels vetted or inspected??
- JL (8/5): Hôtel parfait pour visiter Singapour - Situation idéale pour visiter Singapour, personnel très serviable et sympathique, chambre confortable et propre. Prix élevé mais nous étions sur la semaine du GP F1
- Sally Clare (6/5): - Accommodation reflects price- very comfortable bed, hot shower and great location. There is no window, no separate bathroom, no fridge, the lighting is terrible so very dark and very thin walls.
- Abigail (4/5): - The room was fine however if you actually want to sleep then don’t stay here- the downstairs bar has live music booming out until midnight so it was impossible to sleep.
- tangelev (6/5): Nice room in Chinatown - Located in Chinatown you have easy access to main attractions in Singapore, and plenty of china-restaurants just outside the hotel.
The room was very nice for a single-traveller, though not very big. On the positive side I had my own private bathroom which I really liked.
During the evening there are some heavy noice from the Whiskey Bar below with LIVE music, but it was not a real problem for me.
- GoToGate13 (6/5): Good location - Tiny room but adequate for two people.
The room was damp, belongings and bed linen were damp. The room had a mouldy smell.
- Armando (10/5): - We waited 15 minutes for someone to come to the front desk when checking in. People had been waiting longer than that when we arrived, it appears they don’t pay much attention to guests. There’s a bar on the first floor and it gets very noisy at night, which is okay for people who want to drink and have their hotel room a few steps away. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you want peace and quiet at night.
- Paul (8/5): - Good value for money, given that relative to other hotels in a similar price range, the small room was bigger than the apparent tiny alternatives. Excellent location re: access to food, attractions, transport,, unless quieter environs would be preferred.
- Trenton (10/5): Great location, reasonable price for Singapore - This hotel is incredibly well located, especially if you’re interested in the cultural and historical parts of the city rather than the upscale and tall parts. We were minutes from Chinatown and its eats, shopping, and sights. We were a quick metro ride from Little India – don’t get me started on how easy and efficient Singapore’s metro system is. Our street was a color and interesting mishmash of really old buildings, temples, and some newer buildings – so many different cultures evident in the buildings and the passersby. We arrived late at night and our hotel, shockingly, was a bar – you literally check in at the backside of the bar. This sort of shabby, kind of quirky (the bird in the entrance hallway) three-room bar/restaurant proved to be one of the happeningnest spots in the whole neighborhood night after night, offering open-wall seating next to the sidewalk, a sports bar vibe in one room, a whiskey bar somewhere else, and maybe even karaoke. This ended up being a nice contrast to the capitalistic sterile vibe that characterizes much of Singpaore. I got real worried that it was going to be super loud in our room. It wasn’t at all – I think one night I could hear a distant murmur but nothing troubling – we also didn’t hear a lot of street noise. To be fair, we were the only room on the fourth floor – you take the elevator to the third and walk a up an additional stairway. The room was very small and with no windows except the ones that ran along the top of one wall – a

- UNAI (9/5): Buen hotel céntrico - La ubicación Nada
- Hilary (10/5): Good stay - Very close to Chinatown metro station.
Very clean.
Every day the towels were changed, bed was made and given two bottles of water.
Soap and shampoo were provided.
Very good air con kept us cool.
- Wayne (10/5): - Central to Chinatown in Singapore. A short three minute walk to Chinatown or Maxwell MRT which service different rail lines. Clean basic accommodation in a pub that has live music and a western cuisine restaurant. Pub runs 11am to 2am. but there was no disturbance from its operations in the residential areas. Admittedly we were not on the 2nd floor.
- Soumyadeep (10/5): - Nice hotel in Chinatown. Rooms are clean. Good place to stay close to many of the landmarks.
- Dave (8/5): -
- Navin (4/5): - The location was good. Easy walk to central city. The bathroom was terrible. The shower was so close to the toilet and sink. Everything including the toilet paper was covered in water after a shower. The air conditioning didn't maintain a consistent temperature. Pretty poor value for money overall. But then again it was "cheap" for Singapore.
- Arnaud (7/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): - Great value for money compared to other options in singapore.. bed was comfortable and sheets lovely, clean and soft. Had very good sleep. Shower was hot had amazing pressure. Great location. Bar downstairs excellent. Good music.. would stay there again.
- Jung-Hyun (6/5): - The hotel is definitely dated. Did the job for 1 night but is not somewhere I would recommend for a longer time
- Tong (5/5): Passable -
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Jie (2/5): - I paid more for this hotel than any other hotel on my four-country tour. This was absolutely the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at: the room was tiny, even smaller than the Vietnamese prison cell that I toured. The only good part is it’s pretty close to downtown and the MRT Chinatown station.
- Mark (8/5): - Great Whiskey bar with live music
- George (9/5): Superb -
- jennifer (10/5): - Great location to the food halls/restaurants/transportation/room cleanliness good /bedding was great and comfortable,I would recommend this hotel as a base
- Maung (10/5): - All is well
- John (6/5): Small rooms - Very small rooms, noisy with bar underneath
- Trong Hung (6/5): - Very close to Chinatown 5 min walk . Hotel beside a bar/restaurant . Average & under service . For 1-2 nights is ok. No return here .
- Po-hua (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lawrence (10/5): Overall stay was great as expected, I always stay here whenever I’m in Singapore - The accessibility and cleanliness Nothing
- Lawrence (10/5): Still a great stay overall - Great value for money, location and proximity to everywhere I need to go to No breakfast option
- Timothy (10/5): - Great for Chinatown shopping and dinning, handy to MRT.
- Navin (10/5): - Good location
- Tim (8/5): - Checking in 2hours early cost $20 per room
- Mark (8/5): Super location, helpful staff, best location for Chinatown. - Chinatown! It’s right there. Tiny! 10 m rooms!!
- Miles (2/5): Tiny Room, Grotty, Youth Hostel-like (Backpackers) - Unbelievably small rooms and backpackers-type of property. Not worth over AUD200 p.n.; closer to AUD40. Extremely disappointing. Rude and poor front desk. Had to pay hundreds more for second room, as the single room was barely large enough for a single traveller, let alone a couple. View of street, average location, no amenities except grotty pub. Hotel wouldn't even post me my USB charging cables that i left behind.
- Ging (9/5): Superb -
- Elaine (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay i was right in the heart of everything for what I paid it was adequate for me it just had the basic but you get what you pay for it very clean i was really happy i would stay there again thank you
- Isabel (7/5): Okay - Location and the salmon fish Too small rooms
- Harold (10/5): - It’s very convenient
- Adam (8/5): - Overall a good hotel although as they are also servicing the bar on the other side, you may need to be patient as I found they didn't pay that much attention to the lobby
- sebastien (6/5): - ideally located in Chinatown. Very walkable.
Property is not the freshest though. A good revamp would be apreciated. Rooms are pretty dark and not the nicest in the world for sure. But it's cheap and central in singapore... that's about the major positive point.
- William (8/5): - Central and very reasonable
- Fazluta (7/5): Good - Excellent location Room was the size of a can but hey that’s Singapore for you for this price
- Clyde (8/5): Modern and efficient - Well located hotel with compact modern rooms with great water pressure in showers. Convenient for transit, dining and shopping
- Burhanettin (8/5): - Her yere kolay uiaşım
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice budget hotel in a great location, walking distance to Chinatown and Marina Bay areas. If you plan to not stay in the room at all, use it just to shower and sleep, this is a good option. Otherwise, find a something else.
- Alexey (7/5): Good -
- Dale (6/5): Pleasant - Good location Bathroom ceilings covered with moldy
- Karen (8/5): - Great location in Chinatown. Many food options nearby. Good value for money, comfortable beds and friendly and helpful staff. Its upstairs from a fun bar but we weren’t disturbed by noise
- Evan (6/5): - The room was clean bed are comfortable water pressure is good but room size are small without window. Very convenient close to MRT train station and Chinatown with many different restaurants and foods
- Dorotea Mae (4/5): Health Hazard Hotel Stay - When I got there, they put me in a BLACK MOLDS INFESTED room that smelled indescribably disgusting and gave me headache & I felt like puking in just a matter of 5 minutes being inside that room.
The lady was so nice to transfer me to another room but on my 2 day, they started painting outside my door and the smell of the paint sipped in to my door and my whole room smelled like a paint factory, considering that there’s no window, I felt suffocated but I had to wear a mask because the thinner smell was ao terrible . I complained but they didn’t stop, they just put a plastic barrier and a fan so all the smell sipped in under my door. I told them to put tape outside my door but the very bad smell already sipped in my room.
I’ve been traveling around the globe but this is my first time to experience such a very health hazard condition of a hotel.
- Kelvin (10/5): - The room is small so it is best used for rest/sleep. But this is very appropriate because there are 5 star hotels, and inexpensive hawker/food halls for entertainment and dining, within walking distance.
There is no bath but the hot water shower is amazing.
May, at the front desk, is very resourceful and helpful.
- Monica (10/5): Perfect location! - Perfect location! You can walk to many popular places. From outside it doesn’t look that good but the rooms are very good, although small, they have everything you need!
- Jack (8/5): - Smallest room I have ever stayed in. No window but comfy bed. Shower and toilet and sink all together. No separation.
- Bilal (10/5): - It's a nice place to stay for a short trip.
- Recoleta (6/5): Nothing fancy but ok. - Rooms are small. Small windows you can't open. AC works. Shower and toilet in same space, literally. Nothing fancy but not so bad. What really surprised me is that they wanted to charge us by the hour because we happened to show up from the airport a couple of hours earlier than check in time...
- Melvin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (10/5): - Great hotel with luxury towel and linens. Location is perfect: close to Chinatown and walking distance to Garden By the Bay.
- Chris (10/5): Great location, very comfortable room! - Love the restaurant special they had every day for lunch. GREAT deal! $10 lunch menu for every item less than $30 and $3 beers! Bed is large, AC is cold, location is very convenient because the metro is close by.
- Bao (8/5): - Clean a but the room was very small. It would be inconvenient and uncomfortable if you have big luggages.
- Rodney (9/5): Fantastic and staff so friendly 😁 - I didn't have breakfast there but lunch and dinner were great Only thing I would have liked was a fridge in the room
- Haris (2/5): -
The Good
- Location is good with walkable distance to metro & Chinatown market
- Bed is comfortable & bathrooms are decent
The Bad
- The reception is mostly empty & you will have a really hard time calling a person to the desk.
- Staff overall is quite lost & spent most time in the bar on the ground floor & no focus on the guests living in the hotel.
The Ugly
- Most rooms are in a very bad condition with bad smell & seepage in walls. I got my room changed twice.
- They promised to shift me to a window room for my 2nd night stay but never did it.
- There are no windows in room, you will not know whether its day or night.
Overall, I would not recommend staying here. You can get much better options for the same cost.
- Ken (2/5): Great shock to be issued keys to a guest rm - Read my attached from our messages inbox
- Jenn (1/5): Horrendous hotel, avoid! - Location Extreme dissatisfaction with my recent stay at The Southbridge Hotel in Singapore from November 19-21, which I booked through your platform.
Upon checking in on the first night, I discovered that the air conditioning in my room was not functioning properly, leaving the room uncomfortably warm. Despite my complaint to the hotel management, they insisted that the air conditioning was working fine. Additionally, the room was noisy, making it difficult to rest.
The hotel staff attempted to relocate me to another room; however, this room had an even noisier air conditioning unit and visible mold. The only choice I was given was between a warm room or a noisy and moldy one. To make matters worse, the bathroom in the second room smelled strongly of urine.
When I requested a refund due to these unacceptable conditions, the hotel management ignored my request and advised me to contact Booking.com directly.
I am extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service and the substandard conditions at The Southbridge Hotel. The hotel failed to provide a clean, comfortable, and habitable room as advertised on Booking.com
- Jerome (6/5): - First room was mouldy, musky, damp, no air exhaust and loyd AC unit. Finally I was upgraded to room with window, working exhaust fans and slightly larger and it was bearable. They know they have humidity and lack of air movement so have large air purifiers they move around the rooms. Bar downstairs was awesome though!
- Pioray (10/5): - Excellent Service
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Charming hotel with an attentive and friendly staff. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of my room—it was more spacious than I anticipated. Don’t be swayed by any negative reviews; this hotel is an excellent choice for couples and solo travelers seeking a clean, safe place to stay. While the area is vibrant and bustling, which adds to its appeal, it might not be ideal for those who prefer a completely quiet environment.
- Richard (10/5): Good Job Southbridge Hotel - Good stay at The Southbridge Hotel. Everything was as described. The hotel is within walking distance of lots of locations. I would visit agaim
- Rz13 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Driss (4/5): - hotel has extremely loud bar that plays loud music on weekdays past midnight. cannot sleep. no one answers the phone calls to front desk.
- Julie (6/5): Cheap two stars hotel, should call it hostels! - No good at all !
- Debbie (8/5): - Excellent location. Staff very helpful. My room was clean and comfortable but no windows. At night the bar downstairs is very noisy. Hard to sleep.
- Vattatepee (8/5): - Closed to interesting places..friendly staff many restaurants around.
- LIZBET (6/5): - 👍
- Emily (6/5): - If you are happy listening to music till early hours, then this is the place for you. Should stop the music earlier to allow people to sleep
- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay-ish for a budget hotel experience - It's a budget hotel, so fine if that's what you're expecting. Average service, condition, and amenties. The bathroom was poorly-detailed - the whole toilet/shower/sink is all together so water gets everywhere. Live music downstairs at the bar means an early bedtime isn't possible.
- James (4/5): - Musty, moldy smell permeated the room. Will cause asthma attacks. I avoided returning to the hotel room for as long as possible. The mirrors were scuffed, the toilet and trash can were under the shower head(?!!) so water got in the trash can when bathing—easy to move but still very illogical. No windows, had to carry luggage up to the fourth floor as elevator only went up to the 3rd. Avoid!
- ALEN (6/5): - Got a very small room on first night.
But their credit, the next nights were in a bigger more comfortable room
- Michael (6/5): Handy location - Offered upgrade which I think made for a nicer room however one of the fittings in the room was broken which meant it wasn’t possible to use the toilet without getting wet feet.
Bar below was also quite loud up until midnight.
Otherwise seemed like quite a nice hotel and handy location
- Eva (10/5): Comfy spot - The room was comfortable, great shower. The staff cleaning the rooms daily did a great job. Check in was easy. Will stay again
- Stephen (8/5): Close to metro.eating places. - Location close to Chinatown.15minwalk to Clark quay All ok.clean room
- Sze Hong (10/5): - Nice and cozy place
