Guest Reviews
- Khwanta (6/5): Good - Nice view Old place
- Géraldine (9/5): -
- Simon (5/5): Very old facilities. Great location. Cheap. - Nice outdoors areas. Great location, Located on a quiet hill. Cheap. Very old facilities. Not what we expected… Ants and other insects. It is quite maintained for 60 years old apartment…

- Mark (2/5): - Very clean, and a pleasent host. The room was very worn out, with mismatched cupboard doors and delapidated furniture/soft furnishings. We moved from the first allocated room due to no water pressure which we appreciated however the overall impression was not improved.
We had a communal door that we could not lock and the paper thin walls allowed us the hear our neighbours conversation clearly.
The ensuite was so small my wife could only just shower and that with the new looking water heater purchase precariously over her head. It was very strange.
We cut short our visit leaving after one night having paid for two.
It just felt like the owners had given up a real shame given the amazing location.
- Iryna (8/5): -
- christopher (8/5): Great self catering value for money - Location perfect for beach access Additional of a Microwave
- Dionysios (7/5): - Nice and budget place to stay. It is located in a beautiful and quiet location. The apartment was spacious and clean, but requires some renovation, though. There are facilities such as pool and restaurant. The hosts are super friendly and helpful. Spacial thanks to the caring host who contacted us when we forgot some of our stuff.
Overall, we left with a good impression.

- Davor (8/5): Zanimivo - Solidno Lahko bi nekoliko obnovili apartma, malce zastarelo, potrebno vzdrževanje
- Sheila (8/5): - Views were lovely nice and quiet yes studio apartment needs a bit of up dating but clean and had air conditioning which you definitely need The hill walk was very steep and in the heat was hard
- Mandy Elsby (7/5): Nice pleasant place. - Friendly staff
- Sofroniou (10/5): -
- robert (8/5): - A little gem! Really helpful and kind staff especially Jimmy the owner. He was a great host and kind considerate to my young family.
- Ana B. A.F (8/5): Nice location, perfect for one night or two. - Super Location, comfortable space and quite clean, services available.and very easy check-in. The place could do with a bit of a refresh as it is very nice location and very quite with great views.
- Andrew (8/5): A lovely relaxing break away - Spacious apartment with amazing views and lovely pool area to relax in. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Good food in the restaurant... enormous portion of fish! The pillows were very lumpy. A small problem with ants but cleaner quickly came and dealt with them.
- Colin (7/5): Good -
- Παρπασ (7/5): Good - Kitchen sink stacked
Bathrom water pressure negative
- Ioannis (1/5): Bad - Very dirty, smelly, ants everywhere, no lamp
- Roy (8/5): Excellent staff, great location, good value for money -
- Andrei (3/5): Poor -
- Eugene (5/5): Passable - Bed and bedding were poor. Only one/two very thin sheets. It was actually cold at night. Extra bedding required. TV in room did not appear to work properly and remote control also did not appear to work. This is very much budget accommodation.
- Colin (8/5): Very good -
- Colin (8/5): Relaxing - Great value for money, views are relaxing. Large pool and restaurant on site.
Beach and local leisure are a short walk away.
Accommodation is tired, but unique. You aren’t paying a lot of money to stay so you can’t expect the Ritz.
- Elena (8/5): Thanks for accepting us last minute before night! - Due to sudden problem with the hotel we have initially booked , this booking was made last second in the evening, but owner found someone to send us the key.
Location is good with picturesque view.
The place is very simple, but it’s fine for staying one night only. There is lack of equipment on the kitchen.
- Stylianos (4/5): Disappointing -
- Mandy (6/5): Value for money. - Great people ,great food. Rooms just need a bit of updating. Towels to be changed more & cleaning required more.
- Julie (8/5): Very good -
- Cosgrove (8/5): Very good -
- Filippos (7/5): Good -
- Eamon (8/5): The pool was really good but the room not so - Very old but ok Ants on the floor
- Gyula (7/5): Good - Good location, pool, spacious room, AC, terrace Small shower tray, ants everywhere, saw 1 cockroach, cleaning should be improve e.g. mop the floor carefully
- Eva (1/5): Bad - Ants
- Christiano (5/5): Passable - Very old facilities
Uncomfortable beds
Very small shower
- Maria (1/5): Bad -
- Andy (3/5): Poor - The price It's more in line with asylum seeking accommodation, rather than tourist accommodation. The room could not be darkened, hence at sunrise one woke up,the curtains insufficient with no blackout. The decor more like refugee standard and the shower toilet washroom, akin to a prison Cell.Ronnie Barker in Portidge would of complained
- Filippos (5/5): Passable - I stayed in a studio, ideal for one person travelling alone for work. Great location, nice surroundings, nice families in the other apartments, very quiet. Had a good night's sleep. The studio was not clean enough and some things too old. The outside door had a lock about 40 years old and needed force to close. Ants in the room... A bowl in the kitchen had stains on it. The water in the kitchen sinks took a long time to drain. Generally a pity because this had a potential of a 9/10, or even a 10 if parking places were more convenient.
- Demetra (8/5): Very good -
- Constantinos (6/5): Value for money - Value for money. Has the necessary stuff you need. Good swimming pool. The bathroom could be a bit more clean.
- Lorena (8/5): Very good -
- Annabelle (7/5): Good -
- Laura (5/5): Price-worthy/basic stay - Location We asked for a 2 single bed room and received 1 double bedroom. we don't mind to share as we are friends, but it was not as requested
The electrical heater of the shower had leaks
we were unable to do the checkout because reception does not open until 11am, and there is no box for keys' leaving. This affected our schedule
- Colleen (5/5): Passable - Last minute booking. Only stayed 1 night. The view is amazing and the room is functional. Had to ask for the room to be sprayed due to the drainage smell. However this was done ASAP. Short walk to local restaurants and bars. The pool looked lovely but I didn't use it. Had to leave early the next day due to road closure. And had no idea where to leave the key. No signage or information so I had to leave the key in the door. We could hear every word from the room next door. If you like privacy this could be an issue.
- Taz (6/5): Basic rooms & good location with great views - Location, great views, nice pool area. Rooms are basic but clean. There is a small fridge, kettle & toaster & hairdryer in the room. Comfortable pillows. Mattress was not comfortable on the bed. Small bathroom.
- Vadim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sushila (8/5): Very good - Pool was amazing , was expecting room up floor, 😞 quality of bed could be better. Kitchen is amezing...room Is auspicious that made my stay great
Amenities in bath was very good... owner/incharge of the property helpful,,,,❤️ recommended Towels could be better
- Steve (7/5): Good value - I was a late arrival. The keys were kindly left out for me to collect. I only stayed for 1 night but ithe room ore than met my needs. I couldnt get the hot water working but not a major issue as I only stayed briefly for 1 night.
- Kyriakos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (6/5): I was cold. - No breakfast available despite there being a restaurant.
This is a strange place, it seems to have also or to serve permanent residents, mostly British Men of retirement age.
- Gerard (8/5): Enjoyed some food in the village, a good nights sleep, made our own apartment breakfast - The apartments are about 15 min walk from the village and beach which suited us as we were on a walking week holiday. The open plan apartments are spacious, have a cooker, fridge cups plates etc . They seem quite old with well used furniture and shelves but everything worked ok inc hot water for a winter shower. It is a lovely quiet place to sleep. The beach area looks really nice. The village has several restaurants with good food and pubs and a grocery / all things type shop. There's a superb cliff walk nearby which you can make as long as you wish eg we walked about 5 hour round journey. It's a short drive off the motorway.
- Martina (6/5): Short stay ok - Quick check in and out, staff friendly, room big enough. Heating the water boiler with pressing the switch, too much hot or cold water hard to guess, bed smaller for two, toilet running water through need to close water tap. For short stay ok.
- Sandra (6/5): Not worth the price. The apartment was clean but not very cosy. Old and ugly bathroom. -
- Sheryl (7/5): You get what you pay for, pool area gorgeous , great location - Pool area gorgeous , apartment very basic , bathrooms
Was a bit dismal , lots of damp but water hot and powerful shower , I didn’t pay a lot so was t expecting much . The pool area however was beautiful, lawns well kept and lovely lime trees surrounding, view nice from balcony although a lixk of white paint on the dark brown fence and concrete floor would make it a much nicer experience sitting litosdw
- Munro (4/5): Disappointing - It was convenient for an overnight visit. Lovely outside terrace. Rooms and shower room could do with updating.
- Peter (9/5): Great accommodation, pool and views. Excellent value for money. - Comfortable room with small kitchenette and great views from the balcony. Lovely pool. Excellent location but a car helpful. There were quirky elements such as hot and cold taps wrong way around and TV that didn’t plug in. But nothing that bothered us.
- Millie (4/5): Underwhelming, fine for short stays (1-2 nights) - Great location pool area is kept tidy and clean and beds always available
Wifi worked fine Apartment had loads of ants, ceiling in bathroom was exposed you could see the boiler and all the pipes. Pillows were all stained underneath the pillowcases
Walls are paper thin, if you get noisy neighbours you hear everything including moving of chairs
- Ilaria (8/5): Very good - The restaurant of the hotel, the view, the kitties The bed was a bit old and uncomfortable, the bathroom was small
- George (6/5): Pleasant -
- Agata (9/5): Superb - Lovely hosts and wonderful view from the tarrace
- Jan (7/5): Good - - Due to our late arrival, we were able to agree to leave the keys in the door of the our apartment.
- Beautiful view from balcony. Lack of cooking utensils. We only had a pan and a coffee pot.
There was fridge and toaster.
and just enough plates, glasses, cups and cutlery.
There were no other cooking utensils except a can opener.
- Kawthar (9/5): Superb -
- Shelby (10/5): Lovely stay relaxing by the pool and the sea - Loved my stay at the apartments. Perfect studio apartment with a beautiful view and a kitchen with everything you need. The pool was nice to hang by and it wasn’t too far to the beach. Wifi was okay but not amazing in my room, worked best close to the door
- Arkantor (10/5): Exceptional - The little appartment was cozy, clean, quiet, perfect for chill holidays. The surroundings are pleasant, serene, very relaxing. There was a swimming pool in the premises (and the beach would be about 20 minutes away on foot). For us, the hidden gem was the nearby restaurant Ampeli, on the same street, linked to the appartment complex (see links below): friendly staff, good food both in terms of quantity & quality, very affordable, in a welcoming and relaxing evening atmosphere.

https://restaurantguru.com/Ampeli-Restaurant-Pissouri Some kind of transportation is a must unless one wants to spend all one's time in Πισσούρι: the village centre is about 5km away and the nearest attractions further still (Πάφος, Κούριον, Τρόοδος, etc.).
- Petr (8/5): Very good - The accomodation has own kitchen with kettle, cooker and some dishes. The rooms have terrace with wonderful view. The terrace also has garden chairs and small table. The location was perfect. 10 minuts of walk from 2 grocery shops which are near of the beach. The hotel has also a small swimming pool. The equioment of our room was a bit old. There was a lot of ants. There isn’t any board which will tell you where the reception is. There was a dust under the beds.

- Fenestron (8/5): Sufficient to make a small meal. - A little known part of Pissouri, its excellent, ,Demetri and his staff very helpful, a nice restaurant, excellent swimming pool and a small child's pool. Will certainly stop there again. Wonderful views. Had a little trouble with the A/c but we changed rooms straight away to a very cold a/c.
- Gee (10/5): perfect and quiet - amazing big complex pool close at 7 pm
- Eleni (1/5): Bad -
- Na (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amah (5/5): My stay was not what I expected. The wifi code did not work the room was too cold - Location Wifi not working. Room too cold heating not working
- Alan (8/5): A comfortable property, with access to a pool, restaurant and bar at a good price. - it had most things that I needed at a reasonable price. very basic amenities but enough for me to be comfortable. I did not hire a cat so the walk from the main road to the apartment was a daily challenge.
- Michael (4/5): Disappointing -
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raymond (4/5): Basic accommodation - It was very convenient to where we had to be The bed was very uncomfortable and the interior wall just by the bed was damaged with damp, the plaster had blown and the shower was somewhat Heath Robinson!! As we are trying to check out there is no one in the office which is closed all day, so where do we leave the key?
- Jeannette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stefano (4/5): Disappointing - location overlooking hills no comfort, bed was small and the bedsheets didn’t make it to the bottom of bed, ants on the pavement, it was hard to have a proper shower as shower to small.
- Anita (5/5): Passable -
- Ian (7/5): Good - good location and quiet pool area dated interior and boilers need to have safety valves to stop them over pressuring and leaking boiling water all over you if you are on the toilet at the time. I did speak to someone but they just said put the tap on to stop it and only have the oiler on for 20 mins at a time
- Richard (7/5): Good -
- Wallace (7/5): Great place bad ahower - Easy convient clean The shower in the room was terrible
- Danielle (6/5): Pleasant -
- Heidi (8/5): A bit dated but clean enough and value for money. - The apartments are great value for money, great location, lovely pool, and fantastic restaurant on site. The owner was very accommodating. The bed mattresses and pillows are very old and uncomfortable.they could at least do with new pillows and a mattress topper. I appreciate its budget accommodation but this really affected my stay
- Pauline (5/5): Fabulous location, room needs a little TLC - Loved the location, set in beautiful rural area of Cyprus. Sea not too far away with views of countryside for miles around. The pool was clean & a good size in well maintanained gardens.
Lots of eateries close by & a restaurant on site. The room needed updating, yes it had an air condition unit & hot water by electric boiler which took only 20mins to heat up. Basic cooking facilities & a lovely view from the terrace. But the decor, was not what we expected for the price. There were ants marching across the floor which we reported & was dealt with quickly. Plaster dust was falling from above & behind the bed which worried me a little with my athsma. All in all a bit of a mixed bag of feelings...it could certainly be a fabulous place with a few improvements.
- Martha (7/5): Good -
- Vadim (9/5): Superb -
- Jade (9/5): basic clean in a great location. - in a great location for visiting friends and the swimming pool bar and restaurant were fantastic on site.Jimmy was a great host.
- courtneyhoward (2/5): Pelekanos Apartments - Pissouri - If I could give 0 stars I would!
Only stayed recently for 3 nights and I'm glad we didn't stay any longer.
Room quality:
The rooms were very small and there was no oven in the kitchen, which was okay due to us preffering to eat out anyway. Our fridge wasn't switched on at the wall, leaving it standing warm. This meant that the food we had bought prior to arriving had to be thrown away! The hair dryer (if you use one) was a 2 prong plug, however, the socket was an English 3 prong so was unable to use it. The shower was awful and only drizzled a very tiny amount out, even with the tap on fully. There was no hot water forcing us to have a cold shower. (we was later given an explanation about the water at check out!!) 2 of the plug sockets did not work, which meant we had to share one in the kitchen to charge phones/camera equipment etc. The balcony was fine, and the views were lovely.
Location:
The location is easy to get to and the complex is a good size with multiple appartment next to each other. There is NO advertisement to the whereabouts of the reception. We was left wondering around, eventually discovering that it is located in the restaurant.
Customer service:
Awful!! There was very little exchange in conversation with the owner apon arrival which wasn't alarming. However! When we proceeded to return our keys on check out the owner accused my partner of writing online that the pool was closed which he did not! We never attempted to use the pool throughout our stay nor did we assume it was unavailable. After my partner explained that this imformation was not included in our review, the owner persisted to ask our names and was hastily looking through his phone to find evidence of his accusation. (which he did not find) we made him aware that the shower did not work which he then explained that the water had been cut off (which we was not made aware of despite returning to our appartment multiple times)
Overall I would not recommend these appartments at all which is unfortunate as the views were lovely.
- Traveljuice77 (2/5): Desperate for a renovation. Lacking amenities but gorgeous views and surroundings. - Let me first say that the surrounding area was incredible. Mountainous views all around us, lush grassy fields down below, fruit tree’s line the street leading up to our apartment. There was a really nice natural vibe with birds and bees very much in business. The pool, although we didn’t try it, was pleasant on the eyes and made for a great sight over all.
However that is as far as my praise for this place goes. Unfortunately our stay was let down in many area’s. The reception was hidden inside of the restaurant with no indication from the out side that this was the case. Because of this we were left wandering around the nearby streets trying to find anything that resembled an office or a restaurant. There was a sign that said office on it but through the window we could see that this building was derelict and deserted.
Once we finally realised that the reception was within the restaurant we were left waiting for roughly five minutes whilst the ‘receptionist’ (who also seemed to serve as a chef, waiter and every other role under the sun) served people food who were waiting in the restaurant.
We were then informed that our key was in the lock of our front door and that we were in apartment number 21. This we were fine with. We were happy to let ourselves in.
Parking for our villa was a short walk away.
Once we got inside the apartment we were greeted by a very out dated kitchen. There was a two ring hob, a sink with no plug, taps with no pressure behind them, a hot tap with no heat behind it, one plug socket to power both the kettle and the toaster and a small fridge, that wasn’t switched on prior to arrival meaning we couldn’t use it immediately.
Moving into the bedroom, which was separated by an MDF wooden structure which acted as a sofa, dresser, wardrobe and coat hooks as well as a door way, you’ll find a hair dryer with a two prong power supply whilst the entire apartment is equipped with three prong plug sockets thus rendering it useless and unusable. You’ll also find a double bed and two towels each. The mattress comprises of uncomfortable springs on both sides making for a difficult nights sleep.
I had to go and enquire about the WiFi password. A large majority of the places I have stayed in have had the password written on a wall either in the reception area, the restaurant, on the room key chain or even inside each of the villas. Once the WiFi was up and running on our devices it was slow and inconsistent.
There is a very cute balcony in the far corner which allows you to fully appreciate the incredible views and I would claim that this is the best part of our stay.
The bathroom is adjacent and this is where we felt most let down. The shower was not working on our second day which we later found out was because a local pump had been switched off. But throughout all four of our days in this villa we found that the shower was unbearably cold and still had a low amount of pressure no matter the day.
Equally the bathroom sink taps were short in power and heat thus leading to more difficulties during our stay. The bathroom door was a slide door with no lock on it meaning we felt a slight lack of privacy at times.
There are a few things tourists and travellers are reluctant to budge on in their expectations when they stay somewhere and a lot of those things I feel we were let down by.

- uktravelrep666 (2/5): Don't go out of season - Review for my in-laws who stayed here 10 days and are now staying with me for the next 5 (22 - 27 Dec) as it has been too much
Positives is that this place looks good on pictures. The outside area looks nice and the views are out towards the mountains. It is not far to walk to Pissouri Jetty (600m). In addition to this it is cheap... but for a reason. The bed was comfortable and they came in and changed the towels and emptied bins after 1 week.
This place needs some TLC. Rooms are very basic with minimal cooking equipment... An oven or microwave would have been nice. Although aircon which is a heater the room was very cold on a night as drafts through the patio doors and large gap under front door... We used seats to block and try keep some heat in, also cleaned the aircon unit so it worked.
This place was not clean... Even the cleaning equipment is filthy. The bathroom is old and dirty and the toilet takes 20 min to refill once used so not suitable for 2 to go in the morning.
I think in the summer it may be nicer and the aircon would help more than as a Heater. As out of season the bins are all full and you would expect now would be the time to clear and clean.
The noise was atrocious on a night with the humming from the roof, frogs and cats.. If you are a light sleeper and stay here take ear plugs.
- bluepManchester (6/5): Ok budget accomodation - Good points - very cheap (worked out about £35 a night for me), nice pool, great views, relatively friendly
Bad points - very basic accommodation, not particularly clean, absolute minimum for self catering (one saucepan, one frying pan, no knife apart from normal eating cutlery).
In my apartment the ceiling in the bathroom fell down in the middle of the night due to the hot water tank leaking. So I was pretty glad I wasn’t underneath it at the time. They swapped me to another apartment but the hobs were broken - rather dangerously the knobs were broken in the “on” position. So you had to switch it on and off by the wall socket. Wouldn’t have been great with children to be honest.
However it was cheap and all I needed was a bed and a kitchen for 4 nights whilst I did other stuff during the day. Would definitely need a hire car whilst here I think as it is in the middle of the countryside.
- Monkey709 (6/5): Disappointing - The Pelekanos Apartments opened in 1988 and in 2017 it hasn't changed a bit. We were regular visitors here when it first opened but since then there has seen little, if any, money put into it. The only upgrade I can see is aircon as opposed to a ceiling fan.
The studio apartment is what it is, cheap and cheerful but the biggest let down has been the beds. We know you won't get a TEMPUR Mattress but this thing I have slept on is terrible. It's well worn and slopes to one side and sore back is an understatement. I now worry about when a spring is going to pop through. I'll speak with the owner on his return tomorrow. I turned the mattress over only to find it stained, as are the pillows.
The wardrobe has been put together by an Ikea expert builders in a terrible rush but lacks any purpose with no coat hangers and a wonkey top shelf. At least you will get 12 new metal hangers in our apartment.
A television had been thrown on to the wall in a slapdash manner and cables are taped up. I can't see the point in turning it on as I don't speak Greek. There is no BBC World Service channel.
- 553db (4/5): Very disappointed - This was the first time we had ever stayed at the pelekanos apartments and it will be the last ! We would normally stay elsewhere in Pissouri bay but thought we would give them a try ! The only good thing was we arrived quite late but the restaurant was still open and we were able to get our key ! After that night that was the last time we saw anyone in the whole 2 weeks we were there! Our bed wasn't changed our towels weren't changed we were left a mop and bucket and a small brush and pan ! We emptied our rubbish bins daily and just used the carrier bags that we had got from the supermarket to put into the bins ! The whole place was very dated and would need a good refurbishment! I was very disappointed ☹️there are also a few cats about the place (as is normal in Cyprus) but there was cat poo on the grass in front of our apartment for the whole 2 weeks (3 piles) and it didn't help the smell with it being so warm !
- visitor1979 (6/5): Beautiful, but only outdoors - Even though the swimming pool and the restaurant are in a perfect location, where there is warm breeze, especially for the really hot months in Cyprus, the apartments do not offer much, rather than a bed and an old shower. The fact that we were a couple didn't matter to the owner as he gave us a two bed apartment. The facilities were OK, but too old. I would recommend a renovation. Very good prices.
