Iron fence that opens you the way till the main Villa. An amazing Villa with very strong history of family Guinigi and later connected to other big names. The flat in the main Villa big with high quality, modern furnitures and speechless view.. very kind welcome at the reception and already before arrival very kind conversation via WhatsApp. I asked if it’s possible to make check-in already earlier then normally and it was no problem. We also got free coffee cups at the reception to make us morning coffee in the flat. The garden is fascinating and very peaceful. To catch the sun, relax and just enjoy.. It was one of the most beautiful accommodation places I’ve ever seen. We will definitely come again. Only best of best.. thank you very much ..

Wir hatten ein Apartment in der Villa mit 2 Bädern und 3 großen Doppelbetten. Es war alles sauber, allerdings während des Aufenthalt kein Roomservice. Das Apartment ist top ausgestattet. Die Straße zur Unterkunft sehr eng und kurvig. ca 10- 15 min von Lucca entfernt. Kaum Restaurants fußläufig. Diese müssen aufgrund der Größe vorab reserviert werden. In unseren Fall waren diese immer ausgebucht.

- Tamar (10/5): מומלץ בחום! חוויה מושלמת! - מקום מהמם עם בריכה (די קפואה באוקטובר אבל הילדים בכל זאת נכנסו) וחדר כושר. מושלם למשפחות שמגיעות לטייל באזור לוקה. הדירה לא מאד בטיחותית לילדים. שלנו כבר גדולים יחסית ועדיין נפצעו מהברזלים החדים שמתחת למדרגות ומקורות העץ בגג של הגלריה. מי שמגיע עם ילדים קטנים אני ממליצה לקחת דירה שהיא קומה אחת ולא שתיים.

- Sarah (9/5): - Its a stunning old villa, beautifully preserved from a bygone era. The entrance hall is like walking into you're own stately home. The apartment was beautiful, with stunning high ceilings, original features and marble flooring. The grounds are lovely and the view down over lucca and just breath taking. Sitting by the lovely pool, looking out at those views felt really special. The very steep, winding road up to the villa. Also, the kitchen could really do with having a few more utensils, sharp knives, and a plastic chopping board wouldn't go amiss.

- Monika Emma (5/5): Könnte man besser machen! - Die Lage ist traumhaft...bei schönem Wetter! Auch das Anwesen ist sehr schön gemacht, jedoch gibt es bei schlechtem Wetter keine Möglichkeit draußen irgendwo zu sitzen. Die Wohneinheit (im Untergeschoss) wäre wirklich schön gemacht... Leider gibt es von der Wohnung weder Sicht in den Park noch kann man die Fenster richtig oder gar nicht öffnen. Der Geruch von irgendwelchen unnatürlichen Duftstoffe in der Wohnung war so penetrant, dass wir statt den 2 Nächten nur 1 Nacht geblieben sind. (Musste morgens um 3 wegen Übelkeit und Atemproblemen trotz Regen raus in den Park) Auch wäre für eine Unterkunft in dieser Preisklasse und Noblesse eine Flasche Wasser im Kühlschrank kein Luxus! Das Frühstück zwar originell in Papiertüten verpackt auf den Tisch gestellt bekommen. Aber den Kaffee musste man trotzdem selber raus lassen. Und auch da für 10 € dürfte hier noch eine Flasche Wasser dabei sein. Schade für das schöne Anwesen und die schöne Aussicht. Den Ferrari (der Dauerbewohner) vor den Zimmerfenstern 40 Minuten azfwärmen lassen, gehört für mich auch nicht zu dem Ferienfeeling dazu!

- Mihael (9/5): - Tolle Anlage mit umwerfender Aussicht über Lucca. Die Gäste verteilen sich auf dem großen Gelände, so dass man nur am Pool merkt, dass man nicht alleine ist - sonst ist es angenehm ruhig und perfekt zum Entspannen. Die Appartments sind groß und haben ein schönes Flair aus moderner Einrichtung und historischem Gemäuer. Das optionale Frühstück steht frühs vor der Tür - sollte man unbedingt ausprobieren, ob das einem schmeckt, denn das ist natürlich sehr komfortabel. Einzelne Elemente des Appartments sind offensichtlich schon etwas länger in Gebrauch (die knarzenden Türen, die etwas alte Dusche und WC im oberen Raum) und passen nicht ganz zum luxuriösen Flair, aber man sieht, dass nach und nach renoviert wird - das wird also bestimmt auch noch gemacht.

- Lilit (6/5): Leuk voor een paar dagen maar niet voor een langere vakantie - Uitzicht vanuit zwembad. De personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Later inchecken kost veel geld. Tussen 19:00 en 22:00 uur 50 € en na 22:00 uur 100€. Zowel mobiel internet als wifi verbindingen waren heel slecht . Wegens de ligging van de accommodatie. De auto weg ( hoge berg op) was erg kronkelig en op sommige plekken erg gevaarlijk. Er waren geen supermarkt, bakkers of restaurants in de beurt. Je moest met auto minstens 15- 20 minuten rijden.

- Kevin (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing and peaceful! - Beautiful property in the mountains above Lucca. Outrageous view from the pool area. The property is very clean and well kept. The staff were super helpful at all times. I would highly recommend this Villa. We will be staying again. I think for a high end property it is time to invest in the gym. The sort of clientele that visits a property like this expect a high end gym. While well appointed a lot of the equipment is old with a mixture of new.

- Colette (10/5): Beautiful apartment and location and very accommodating staff - Villa Guigini is different from a usual apartment in many ways as it is self catered but with a reception. Even before our arrival Vania contacted me to organise a transfer and suggest a vineyard tour while we waited to check in so this already made it feel like we were in good hands. The apartment was lovely and spacious and had everything we needed with a beautfiul view of the hills. It was also very peaceful and housed in the main villa which I would definitely recommend. They offered a shuttle service which saved us during our stay as we had to go into Lucca every day which is a 20 minute drive and taxis aren't available after 8pm. They were always on time and friendly as were all the people we encountered during our stay here.

- Scott (6/5): Pleasant - The grounds are beautiful and the staff very good. The pool although in a nice location was very noisy with children constantly kicking , throwing and bouncing balls . Squealing and jumping all the time and the parents never corrected their behaviour . It would stop us from rebooking. Our room was very very dark and the several light bulbs went out and there was no hot water for 2 days. Its such a shame that these things happened as it stopped our stay from being what it should have been. AS above . You need another pool area for adults only . The noise at the pool area and the way the children took the whole pool over jumping squealing splashing yelling etc made relaxing by the pool and reading a book impossible. We had to move to another area on the lounge chairs and then walk back for a swim when it got too hot. Very unsatisfactory.

WiFi connection was a disaster, we couldn't connect, after multiple attempts and reporting to the location management. Impossible to to work remote using the provided WiFi, sometimes we were able to connect, but was constantly dropping and slow. Also, first day we request for breakfast, 10euros per person, expecting a decent breakfast with local goods, but no. was plain sandwich with ham and cheese from the supermarket, and some sort of croissant. Also it contained a bottled orange juice and a water.

Location was a bit further from Lucca than we realized (~20 minutes, but on windy mountain roads)

There was no real breakfast planned! On additional request packed breakfast was delivered. However, close by there is a very nice grocery shop with different options for self prepared breakfast. There was difficulties with food as there is no restaurant in the hotel and for the close by restaurant was necessary to book a table at least 2 days in advance.

It was like a dream to stay in this hotel. We all loved it all. The internet was a bit slow, but not a big deal. Actually could be a plus for that location ;)
- Anna (9/5): Lovely stay in the country side with minor negatives - The view from the room was amazing. The rooms were very modern and beautifully designed. The showers in the apartment were really cool and had all kinds of functions for massages. Very great service. It's a very quiet area and you can hear the birds chirp in the morning. Unfortunately, the rooms in our apartment are only covered by glass doors, so you don't really have a lot of privacy in that regard. Also, there were 3 rooms in total and one of the rooms reminded us of the Harry Potter 'under the stairs' bedroom, whereas the other 2 were beautifully decorated (keep that in mind when using all 3 bedrooms). Additionally, it's a bit far out so you need a car to get there - it's on a hill so walking could get a bit tiring.

The apartment we stayed in was okay - we knew it was in the basement of the villa, but it was very dark. We had booked it as it came with a kitchen and perhaps an oversight on our part but there was no oven, the fridge was tiny and a real lack of cooking utensils, it was very basic and meant we did not really cook while staying despite having wanted to. Overall it was okay but if I was to return I would probably look to stay in a different apartment / room within the main villa

L'appartamento è spazioso ma molto umido perché seminterrato. La strada per raggiungere la residenza è molto impervia e, spesso, scoraggia dall'affrontarla nelle ore notturne perché stretta e piena di curve.
- Carlo (6/5): Allemaal net niet... - Dit was het allemaal net niet. De reis had langer geduurd en toen was er niemand meer bij de receptie. Het appartement (Macine) bleek geen tuin te hebben, er is geen outdoor tennisbaan, WIFI was stuk, TV deed het niet en de vermelde wasmachine was ook kapot. Dit was een verkeerde start op deze locatie. Nicole van de receptie heeft geprobeerd alles zo goed mogelijk te doen maar kon het in haar eentje het ook allemaal niet veranderen. De villa ligt hoog in de bergen wat een mooi uitzicht geeft, wel een mooie omgeving. Lucca op 10 km. is een heel leuk stadje waar je zeker doorheen gefietst moet hebben. Voor ons toch een leuke week maar het appartement was het net niet.

Downside was really poor internet which you don't expect in the 21st century. Pool was a little cold, the indoor pool was closed which we weren't expecting. No air con here so worth noting that. Nicole is great and very helpful. Overall we loved it here.
