Guest Reviews
- Anthony (10/5): Excellent -
- Stuart (10/5): Great - Stable was clean, well equipped with nothing to complain about. Great little find if the location suites you.
- Elizabeth (10/5): A very enjoyable experience - Perfect for our needs
Warm, comfortable and well equipped
Clear directions from the host on how to find the property Couldn’t find fault with anything
- Brigitta (10/5): - Really nice host, very communicative. The place was nice and clean. The bed was large and vert comfortable. 100% recommend
- Roddy (6/5): - Clean comfortable Breakfast cereal not topped up verry little jam , no salt in condiment. Add says pet friendly but doesn't say they charge until after you have booked, with the price charged pets should be included in the price. Area not pleasant drunks shouting and fighting on the street .
- Sally (9/5): Quirky building with huge bed. - Lovely couple although didn't see Addy this visit. Breakfast catered for, with bread, butter, jam, selection of cereals, milk, teas, coffees. It is totally self contained, with wet room, cooker, microwave, dishwasher, kettle and toaster. Lovely clean place and super quirky. Selection of books to read and menus for local takeaways along with maps of the area. I do think that the price is rather high taking into consideration the check in time of 1600 and check out time of 10am
- John (8/5): Very good in almost every respect, but the lack of a clothes rail to hang things up was a bit irksom - It was okay Some form of an actual clothes rail for hanging stuff on would be a big improvement I thought
- Andy (9/5): Lovely one night break. - The property is a nice clean quirky property set back just off the road. They have made great use of the space available. There is more than enough equipment in the kitchen to be able to cook if necessary but we used the local Indian which was only a 2 min walk and very good. There was plenty of tea, coffee and fresh milk to make a brew when needed. A nice little continental breakfast was a lovely touch. A smart TV with internet access to be able to stream anything that you would need to snuggle up on the couch with. All in all a lovely little place. Nothing
- Rachael (10/5): Great stay - Perfect base for work, comfortable bed, good wifi, parking, good cooking facilities. Nothing
- Karl (10/5): Great location for my work , quiet and comfortable - Property was well presented and clean, great use of space and decorative No complaints
- Daniel (10/5): Lovely, cozy place in an accessible area with lots to do. Very happy with our experience! - It was a really cozy, homely sort of vibe. There was a lot of attention to detail in making sure you we had optimal comfort. Addy was really helpful when we had delays making it there. The bed was marvelous, under floor heating was just what we needed for the drizzly winter weather, the information book was really helpful in finding out what is in the area and where we could go for dinner and such.
- Nicole (10/5): -
- Karl (9/5): -
- Gill (9/5): -
- Pamela (10/5): Met our needs perfectly. - Bags of character, sympathetically converted from original stables. Addy and Angus are very good hosts and very responsive. Very comfortable enormous bed, small but well-planned kitchen, good wet room with shower. Peaceful location with supermarket and takeaways in easy walking distance. Nothing to dislike.
- Vicky (10/5): Lovely weekend break in quiet village location - Lovely conversion, the hosts were quick on communications and the location was ideal for our stay. It’s comfortable and clean and tidy and the little touches of milk and breakfast for the next morning is really kind. Use of the EV charger very reasonable and easy to use. The bed is super comfy and good that you have your own self contained place to yourself. Really enjoyed our stay. Nothing to dislike about the property!
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional well-presented property - This is an exceptional property. We had a very comfortable one night's stay, in order to break up a long journey. The stables are beautifully converted and very well equipped.
Crowle is a great location. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Do ask Angus about the Crowle Peatland Railway. It's a fascinating attraction, and there are great plans for the future.
- Stephen (10/5): - Fresh milk tea coffee waiting for you Nothing
- Ellie (9/5): Very relaxing, beautiful little place - Beautiful little place to stay. Much nicer than a hotel room, especially when there not much price difference. Super clean and well kept. Provided everything down to card games! The shower didn’t drain properly so had to have a quick shower before flooding the floor. Eventually drained but think it needs clearing to flow better
- william (7/5): This was fine for one night. - Spacious and comfortable. The shower drain was backed up and flooded the floor. Not a true continental breakfast. Otherwise quite good.
- linda (10/5): Overall I was pleased with the property and enjoyed my stay - The property was perfect for my requirements and had everything I could have needed. I would definitely stay again
- Gemma (10/5): Lovely area, property well looked after and has all you need for a little break away - Lovely building with charm, great little village. Had everything you need, as well as parking. Although we didn’t use it, the welcome book had so much information about local business/places/things to do which was useful. Nothing bad to say - maybe would have been nice not to have to be out by 10am, but partly our fault due to attending an event, so we didn’t get to stay in the property long, which was a shame because of how nice it was :)
- Karolynne (10/5): A beautiful place to stay, full of character. - Beautiful self catering accommodation in an old stable block. The quality of the furnishings and facilities were perfect and the host provided everything we needed.
The continental breakfast was great and lovely attention to detail. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to friends and family. There was some building work taking place next door to the property which was noisy and started early. We were setting off before 10am so it didn't affect our stay too much.
- Chris (9/5): -
- Jan (9/5): Intersting and different property which suited us very well for our overnight stay. - Loved the layout and finish of the property and the use of the adjacent 'secret garden' for our dog.
Lovely hosts Not obvious microwave oven operation (probably just me)
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - The Stables is lovely - very clean and comfortable, with everything you could possibly need ready for you on arrival, including a really generous selection of breakfast foods. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. There's absolutely nothing to say a bad word about. Although, since i arrived late and in the dark, a big sign saying "The Stables" would have increased my confidence 😃
- Adrian (9/5): A very comfortable and welcoming overnight stop in an interesting location. - We appreciated the items left for breakfast. The cottage was very comfortable, the large bed was welcomed and the layout cosy.
Whilst the owners were not in residence, communications were excellent and they were very flexible about our little dog. Not something they could control, but there is currently building work next door.
- Tracey (9/5): Lovely cottage - Lovely decoration, quaint little cottage which has all the facilities needed.
Great wet room shower.
Milk, cereal, bread, butter, and jam left for breakfast and a selection of beverages 😊
Books provided about the history of the area.
Handy for local corner shop.
Personal spacious parking space provided for the cottage. Nothing
- Bentham (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Stayed before and plan to stay again. - Stayed before and plan to stay again. Very pleasant self contained accommodation.
- Nick (10/5): One night stopover on our way south - Gorgeous, well thought out conversion of a lovely old building, good parking, close to village amenities, supermarket, pubs, take aways All good👍🏻
- Colin (10/5): Peaceful - Excellent from booking to leaving no problems at all
Excellent breakfast with milk bread and butter and a great choice of tea coffee and a great choice of cereal 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nothing
- Vicki (10/5): Perfect retreat! - Wonderful barn conversion packed with character. The hosts were absolutely fantastic and even provided much appreciated welcome pack. Will definitely revisit. We were a little sad to leave. It was perfect
- Fraser (10/5): Great apartment in a good location with friendly hosts. - The Stables are a well appointed apartment / B&B
We had al the breakfast cereals milk bread etc in the apartment.
Car parking is easy and the location in th centre of town was good. A few yards to the ight was a Tesco and the left a very nice dog friendly pub.
The hosts Addy and Angus were very welcoming.
- Helen (9/5): A nice comfortable place to stay if visiting Crowle. - Very quaint. Hosts were very helpful. The shower was fiddly. Hot or cold.
- Paweł (10/5): Strongly recommend. - Fantastic location, lovely house, very nice and helpful owners.
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional -

- Sally (10/5): Beautiful accommodation - This is a gorgeous little apartment in the village of Crowle that has been furnished to very high standards. We were welcomed on arrival and were able to settle in quickly. We made the booking to stay over after attending a family party but are considering re-booking for a slightly longer stay so that we can enjoy some of the lovely local walks.
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Geoff (10/5): Great place to stay! - Comfortable, clean and well equipped
Good communication and information provided by host prior to arrival Nothing
- Colin (2/5): Poor, would not stay there again - The location No heating ,no butter for toast ,
- Maria (9/5): Very relaxing, uncomplicated, no dramas. Perfect - Great location. Good selection of cereals and jams offered Leaving
- Richard (3/5): Wouldn’t return - Lots of character Very cold. Curly hairs and dog hairs in the bed. I am allergic to dogs and house mites, the bedroom was full of of dust and the bed and throw downstairs was full of dog hairs.
- Macfarlane (10/5): Exceptional - We stopped here for a night on a long drive. Lovely accommodation for us and our small dog. Communication was great beforehand and a nice touch to have tea, coffee, milk, bread, cereal for the morning. Nothing
- Martin (10/5): classy and quirky - quirky but very practical
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carl (9/5): I'll be back ! -
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - Very quiet location - well equipped accommodation!!! Parking on site!!
- Joanne (9/5): Great place to stay - The stables were beautifully clean and very well equipped. Such a lovely attention to detail. The shower was great and such a good selection of Cereal for breakfast. Exceptional communication from the host even though they were away themselves, nothing was too much trouble. It was a very comfortable and relaxing stay. We will definitely be returning.
- Alison (9/5): very relaxing - Beautiful little home from home. Stayed twice now & if ever in the area will definitely stay again the shower was very slow & found it impossible to get the temperature right it was either boiling or freezing no in-between
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrea (10/5): Perfect - Unique Cosy cottage .
lovely bread /jams/cereal & milk left for breakfast . So thoughtful 😊
- Phil (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely little home from home, felt totally comfortable the minute we arrived, everything you need was provided and everything was spotlessly clean.
Bed was very comfortable, although you do need to be aware of the sloped ceilings on the mezzanine floor !!!!
We didn't meet the hosts in person but email communication through Booking.com was easy, informal and very helpful.
Would highly recommend for a peaceful, relaxing stopover or longer stay.
Thanks again. None.
- Darren (10/5): Exceptional - Nice location, lovely clean conversion ideal for a relaxed night/weekend away, lots of little extras provided for the stay,
- Wiola (10/5): Magical Cottage. - This place is just wonderful, fabulous, magic!!
I loved everything! It has a true spirit of English cottages. Besides that it's spotless, has extremely comfortable bed and the fully equipped kitchen. Delicious breakfast. The hosts are very nice and thoughtful and they have a gorgeous cat Poppy who is enormously friendly. Nothing. Everything was just PERFECT!
- Barry (10/5): Peaceful, relaxing and worth every penny. - The whole area. Peaceful place to stop. Great facilities.
- Keith (10/5): All in all a fabulous place to stay with great hosts, we will return. - Lovely self contained accommodation, great shower and bathroom and a wonderfully comfy bed, just right after a long journey. Nothing
- Rob (10/5): Exceptional - Great little spot. Very thoughtful supply of essentials.
- Lorrain (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. Cosy, great value, very clean, friendly host and would definitely stay again. Peaceful and well equipped. Nothing at all. Cannot fault the stable,
- Lesley (10/5): A lovely end to a fortnight away from home. - Breakfast things were very kindly provided and the kitchen was very well supplied with everything you could want for cooking and eating. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was fabulous.
There was an issue with the door lock on the shower room but this was not a problem, after 40 years together we just left the door ajar and sang. Angus was very apologetic (he'd thought it was fixed) and he was going to replace the handle after we left so I can't see it being an issue for other renters.
It was a fabulous place to stay for a couple of nights while birding on the Humber. Thank you to Addy and Angus for a lovely stay. we hope to return.
- Paul (10/5): A great find - Lovely property with friendly, helpful hosts. Would change a thing about my stay.
- Raper (10/5): The bed was huge and comfortable. Plenty of utensils in the kitchen. Clear booklet of instructions. - Breakfast was very good. Quality bread with butter and jam, three kinds of cereal. Nothing. It was perfect for us.
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional - Our host was lovely very informative about the area. One of those people you could have sat and chatted to for longer. A real gentleman.
- Rob (8/5): Very good -
- Claudia (10/5): Weekend with character - It's a lovely place to stay with great character. Looks small from outside but it has proven spacious inside. We've loved the bed location and how big it was with a window right behind to hear the morning birds.
Our hosts were wonderful. They helped with all we needed and beyond.
We would definitely repeat the weekend experience!
- Ian (9/5): Very comfortable and clean. - Self contained, very clean and the ‘welcome pack’ of essentials was much appreciated. The shower - difficult to keep an even water temperature and decent water pressure.
- Howard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (8/5): Cute stay - Great little find close in the small town. Cereals etc drinks provided
- A (10/5): Beautiful and clean unit - A lovely night spent at the stables at Owlet Hall with my wife. The property is beautiful, it's more like a small cottage than anything and me and my wife fell in love with the place as soon as we walked in. Very clean and tidy, a few cobwebs in places, but I'm not complaining at all..
It had a full kitchen, living area and a seperate 1st floor bedroom with a lovely big comfy bed.
We will be visiting for a weekend soon and we will be booking here again.
Again, this isn't a complaint. There is an issue with the part of the shower that holds the head in place doesn't work properly and the shower head won't stay high enough for a comfy shower.
- Susan (8/5): Nice place but check first if wanting to eat out. - Ideal for a short stay. Clean, lovely bread and jam and had a lovely cozy feel. Dog friendly 😊 We knew we would be late getting to property so researched for place serving food. The local pub had good food ratings and said they served every day. When we went there they said they were not doing food. Sent us to the chip shop and they were just closing. Was a local Tesco open but was disappointed I had to cook.
- Louise (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (6/5): Pleasant - bed lovely hot water was scalding
- Julie (10/5): Lovely relaxed evening in lovely surroundings - Lovely and warm nice and clean Nothing have stayed before
- Allan (9/5): A home from home, all the mod cons & a breezy stay - Completely inclusive experience. The mezzanined sleeping area and ground floor area contained an entire apartment in one ample footprint.. lots of appliances and comforts. Incredible big bed and no problem to have our little dog with us. There were all kinds of breakfast items, hot water bottle, emergency torch, and every instruction manual so no question went unanswered. They even lined the grill pan with foil, and pre ground some coffee. So thoughtful! A & A were readily available on the text if we needed anything and we felt very safe, welcome and relaxed. Easy entry to the property, great parking and fab books, bedding and shower! NA
- Maria (9/5): Restful, peaceful, comfortable, a lovely experience - Delightful place to stay, beautifully converted, tasteful decor There’s nothing to dislike
- Karon (10/5): Exellent location - Was excellent good location we stayed as it was a suprise party for my brother everything was there there even the breakfast etc all the finer touches would highly recomend this place a little gem
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional - It was a very nice place to stay, very cosy and comfortable for visiting my family. The owner was very friendly and helped us with the heating. Fun place to stay on a very windy and wet weekend. It was perfect
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect little place - absolutely spot on!
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (9/5): Great place to stay for a couple of nights. Great pub (Red Lion) - around the corner - Nice quiet location, well equipped and surprisingly spacious. Nice large bed. The property has underfloor heating and so was a little bit cold. Instructions were provided but were somewhat confusing.
- Pelham (8/5): I would recommend this accommodation and would love to stay again if we are ever in the area. - The Stables at Owlett Hall is a sweet accommodation tucked in a beautiful little country village. This is a very spacious rental with a living area, kitchen, bath, and loft bedroom. The owner is on site and is very helpful with any questions or requests. He sent several very helpful emails prior to our arrival to guide us to the facility and prepare for our stay. The full kitchen is set up for longer term stays if needed. A continental breakfast is already in the room upon arrival. Tall people need to be careful in the loft due to the pitch of the ceiling. The bathroom is downstairs and the stairs are tricky to navigate in the middle of the night.
- Peter (10/5): No question...would stay here again for sure! - The choice provided for breakfast was excellent but if there was anything additional you required, a decent Tescos is just a 2 minute walk away. The renovation of this old stone building was fantastic, full of character but kitted out with full mod cons...had underfloor heating in the lounge...how lovely is that! A cozy environment with enormous comfortable double bed and lovely bedding. The shower room is a wet-room style so masses of space to shower, so much better that a little cramped box one often gets. We briefly met our hosts who seemed lovely and had the feeling they would go out of there way to help you enjoy your stay. We stay away a lot and this is definitely up there with the very best...shame we only stayed for one night. Couldn't fault it
- Pat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rita (10/5): Lovely accommodation with a homely feel. - Excellent location for the Wedding we were attending, breakfast provided was a nice touch - Thankyou
- Lizzie (10/5): - A lovely stay in a cute old stable. Lovely provision of cereal, bread, butter, milk and coffee (including some for the cafetière for those like me who don’t drink instant). The fridge has a small freezer at the top which is great.
The living room is double height and very comfy with underfloor heating, the bedroom is upstairs on the mezzanine. The owners have really thought about the things you need when staying away in self-catered accommodation and it shows! 10/10
