Resturant had good food and was beautifully setup. The property was well maintained and the rates we booked at were fairly priced. Location very well situated to many different ideal destinations. The service is wonderful. The staff tries to accommodate you as much as they can. We definitely recommend this place! Thank you for the great hospitality!

- kaitlyn (10/5): - Amazing experience. The grounds were so lush and beautiful. The restaurant was also great- fairly priced and quick. Drinks were soooo delicious. Also overlooks the lush trees and even saw monkeys from here!! Another highlight is the staff. Specifically Kenneth in the bar and Isaac at the restaurant. So friendly, welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. This is less of a resort feel and more mountain cabin, but still has really great perks like the jacuzzi - we went in every night. Amazing spot!

- Brianna (10/5): - This was our favorite spot that we stayed in Costa Rica and we all wish that we stayed longer. We loved our little cabinita and it was perfect for the 5 of us. The blooming plants along with the walkway was beautiful. The bar was an extra bonus that we really enjoyed - so nice that it was right there on the property. The AC worked great too! Of course it was very nice to relax in the jacuzzi after a long day of travel.

It was beautiful to sit and eat breakfast on the patio watching the hummingbirds in the flowers. The staff was helpful and friendly. They helped us book a couple excursions as well.

- Brian (8/5): - We rented cabin number 9 which is located at the rear of the property and is much more secluded than the other cabins on the property. The best part about this cabin is that it’s not located near the road and it also looks out into the jungle from the rear porch. William in concierge, Kenneth the bartender, and other staff members were great and incredibly helpful. Our cabin was a bit rustic however it provided everything we needed and we enjoyed hearing the sounds of the jungle and river below. The location is good if you don’t want to be in the hustle and bustle of La Fortuna. However you can walk into town which will take you 15/20 minutes each way as a fit individual. The property does have a bar and restaurant on site, a couple other restaurants, and a convenience store that are located on the same street. It’s still close enough to town that all of our excursions were able to pick us up at the property without extra charge. They offer paid laundry which we took advantage of, and we really loved their in house breakfast which is also an extra fee but reasonable. If you want to be off the beaten path a little bit, but still close enough to everything than this is for you. As a heads up the other cabins are closer to the road and I imagine there might be considerable road noise. Its a humble resort for humble people and families in my opinion. We would go back.
- Raya (2/5): - I honestly don’t understand how this hotel got such a high rating. I rarely leave bad reviews, but my experience at this hotel was really disappointing. The room was nothing like the photos—small, outdated, and not very clean. The bathroom had a weird smell of urine that didn’t go away. We were so grossed out by the beds that we just slept in our clothes. I brought my wet towels to the front desk and asked for replacements. To my surprise, the owner told me those were the only towels they had! He said he would dry them and have them sent to my room within 30 minutes. Of course, that never happened. I'm still baffled that a hotel doesn’t keep extra towels on hand—it’s honestly unacceptable. I couldn’t wait to check out. Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else.

Great location next to the jungle and the river walk. The Howler monkeys woke us up early each morning but that was part of the whole experience. Very good food at the onsite restaurant as well. We would definitely stay there again.

- Robert (10/5): - When we travel, we’re usually not in our hotel room very much. That said, this property is beautiful and the staff makes you feel at home and cared for. We’re a family of three traveling with an 18-month old, and a little kindness goes a long way. For example, we had a room key break off in the lock and the staff resolved it within 20 minutes and then called for some additional maintenance just because they noticed, not because we asked. It’s not a huge thing, but it helps! Otherwise, the place is conveniently located for accessing nearby sites (Arenal and Fortuna Falls, especially). The food in the attached restaurant is good, but maybe a little more expensive than similar options nearby. You pay for convenience. All in all, we really enjoyed our time at Rancho Cerro Azul.

Walking along the river in the mornings was a splendid treat and very relaxing. We walked to town, dining and waterfalls for swimming. The food and drinks on site were very good and reasonably priced. Cannot wait to go back!!!

The king bed is comfortable, super clean. Enough room to do my yoga! Great parking. Would highly recommend for a genuine Costa Rican stay.

The only drawback is that this room is just feet from the road. Although there were plants blocking the view it was pretty noisy during the day. But a family would love this room, small kitchen, 3 separate beds, and good price. But no pool on the property if that is important to you.

My wife had a medical emergency while we were there and the front desk staff were super helpful. We enjoyed the peaceful, well landscape tropical environment. There is also a river at the back of the property. Lots of bird passing through. Want to thank them for a great trip.

Located next to good restaurants and walking around feels safe at night. Staff is great especially Alonzo. The staff (specifically Kevin, went above and beyond ensuring we had everything we needed.) They organized a lot of our activities we did while in La Fortuna. The bar and restaurant on property are a nice touch if we didn’t feel like going out that night or going anywhere for breakfast or lunch. I couldn’t recommend this place any more! Fantastic!

- Rivkah (10/5): - Nice property. Each cabin is surrounded by trees making it completely private and relaxing. The jacuzzi in the back of my cabin was a really nice touch. Would definitely stay again. Very friendly and helpful staff

- Adam (10/5): - We had a warm welcome, cabin is beautiful, with a great jacuzzi. Excellent breakfast. Great location near Arsenal.
- Alexandra (8/5): - Nice staff, beautiful rooms with veranda close to a forest (nice to walk and see animals). Housekeeping could be improved (we had to ask to fill up soap and toilet paper twice though our room was cleaned before). Breakfast is too expensive for the small portions that you get.

- Gerad (10/5): - Great location about 5 minutes from downtown la fortuna. Within walking distance is a mini market and a few restaurants. Very close to the la fortuna waterfall, salto rope swing, chocolate tours and so many other things! Grounds were beautiful, very quiet, great happy hour at the bar and river walk. Highly recommend for couples and families.
- anjali (8/5): - The hotel is a nature lovers paradise as it surrounded by amazing trees and garden with a beautiful hammock in the patio. The front desk even helped with organizing tours (&guide) and tickets to the Arenal Volcano, La Fortuna Waterfall and Hanging Bridges. It is also quite close to the main town that has good food options. If traveling from US make sure to carry USD for good cash discounts!! Pura Vida!!!!
