Guest Reviews
- pasqualecO9136SG (10/5): The best place to relax and take care of yourself! - We planned to be at Finte Vera a couple of days, but have spent a week and we have reborn! Giancarlo, the owner, takes good care of you, helped by a wonderful team. The spa is outstanding and your body (especially your skin!!!) will tell you! It’s a quiet place with a gorgeous view! The food is genuine and well prepared! We highly recommend this place. Do not miss it if you want to relax or if your body asks for help!
- Julie (10/5): - We were one of two American couples staying here. Someone asked how we found this gem! It is a quiet place overlooking some of Tuscany. The room wasn't as pictured that we got, but I would guess some rooms look this way. Was still nice and had a small balcony to enjoy the beautiful view. What brought us here was the Saturnia Thermal Springs which is just 10 minutes or so away. The springs are free to the public and magnificent!! There is paid public parking about a 5-10 min walk away and everyone does this (in robes, swimsuits, coverups, towels). This hotel has access to this same spring water that is always 95 degrees. It is known to be healing so most people hang out in the pool (this pool is drained and freshly filled every night) and is a quiet group. There is a delicious breakfast buffet and lunch is available on the terrace. The dinner we had here was very good as well. The staff speaks enough English to make you feel welcome and understand everything you need to. Highly recommend.
- Tammy (10/5): - Excellent option for staying in Saturnia and venturing to nearby towns and the springs. Staff were exceptional and the food was lovely
- Edward (10/5): - Great location to visit several towns and wineries in the area.
- Catherine (10/5): - We picked this quaint little hotel at the spur of the moment decision to drive up that way because it had a hot springs pool and it was about 10 min drive to the Saturnia Hot Springs Falls. Which is probably what brings most outsiders there. It’s Very quiet but We really had a pleasant stay for our 2 nights and that was all we really needed. It definitely has more of a bed and breakfast cozy feeling while sitting on their patio sipping coffee/wine and wearing a robe around the pool. The owner and staff were friendly and welcoming.
- Anthony (10/5): - Excellent Host wonderful thermal pool and great surrounding area
- daniel (10/5): - Une eau renouvelée tous les jours. Un immense plaisir, détente assurée
- CinziaN871 (10/5): Fabulous place! - Very nice hotel in Saturnia. We have been in the nearby 5 stars hotel, beautiful and ver elegant but surely less authentic than the hotel Saturno Fonte Pura. This is a very nice 3 stars hotel that offers thermal water coming directly from mount Amiata. The owner, Giancarlo, that at a first impression does not seem very welcoming, is actually very keen to keep the very high standards of the food and the services he offers. The pools are emptied and disinfected daily. The water at 38 degrees is very good for any skin problem and very relaxing, The rooms are very nice and very clean. We have been there now several time and this time I forgot a jacket that Giancarlo has promised to send back, nice gesture.I will not go back to the nearby 5 stars as I definitely prefer this one! - Verified traveler (10/5): - Struttura molto curata, accoglienza perfetta, ottima cucina, piacevolissima piscina termale. Molto tranquilla e in posizione panoramica.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Buono - Buono
- Anton (10/5): Nice hotel with own thermal pools - Hotel situated close to Saturno city and Manciano. Its about 2 hours car trip from Fiumicino airport. All staff very pleasant and helpful. Room with perfect view and good internal equipment. Close to the hotel you can take a perfect dinner in Pizzeria. Theta two thermal pools with warm water and absolutely great spa experience. Also you can go to Manciano natural thermal spa it’s about 4 kilometers. Also you will have breakfast and restaurants in a hotel. Excellent. Extremely recommend!
- Alessio (10/5): Relax - Spettacolare!!!!!
- kevinc683 (6/5): Hotel Photo's Surpass the Real Deal - Modest rooms at moderately high prices. If you're really into the hot bath experience—go for it! But don't plan on being pampered at the Fonte Pura, it's not that type of facility. The restaurant is simple and the village of Saturnia offers little in terms of tourist appeal.
Here's the deal: The pools of Saturnia are definitely worth seeing—and experiencing—but (and make sure you're seated cause you won't believe what you're about to read) they're free!
Yep, unlike every other attraction in Italy whereby you have to shell out some cash, the thermal baths of Saturnia can be enjoyed by all at no cost whatsoever. Why then would you want to spend a couple hundred EURO on a hotel and a meal (per night) to take in a freebee?
Look: We're talking Tuscany, folks and there are simply too many other places to see and enjoy. Saturnia is not exactly along the beaten path—it's way out WEST near Grosseto, towards to coast. For my money, I'd stay inland towards, Siena, San Gimignano, and further North towards Florence. Way more to see, every attraction and historical site is less than an hour from the other, and they're spectacular.
Now that I've seen Saturnia, I'll never go back. Sorry, I'm just saying, it's not that big of a deal—not compared to the rest of Tuscany, not by a long shot.
- MrsChimp (10/5): Tuscan Paradise - This is our second visit from the USA to this charming property and we love it even more this time. Five days and nights in the mineral waters, soaking in the whirlpool were wonderful.
Giancarlo and his wife are gracious hosts, very accommodating and friendly. Our spacious two floor room had its own private balcony with table and chairs overlooking the valley.
The food every evening was beautifully prepared Tuscan fare, all delicious. We will return again!!
- tgdow (10/5): Clean and comfortable - My husband and I spent one night at this hotel. Most guests visit the hotel because of the mineral baths which are located right on the hotel grounds. The hotel provides bath robes and there are lounge chairs near the baths so it's a great place to relax.
Our room was very large; two stories with 2 bathrooms and a sitting room. It was very clean and nicely decorated. Our air conditioned room had a comfortable king size bed. The room had free wifi. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. They made us feel very welcomed. The buffet breakfast had a good selection of items.
We enjoyed our visit here and highly recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful location - Amazingly beautiful with views of the Maremma valley. The descriptions did not mention the thermal spring fed pool, which was a pleasant surprise!
- wpcmj (10/5): Spa to remember - well this was the second of 2 hotels i stayed at in Saturnia Italy it has its own mineral springs feeding the pool awesome to relax, the rooms were clean no carpet on floor which i like but can get noisy when people move furniture or have an annoying child who dosn't know how to behave. the hotel was gracious enough to upgrade us at no charge to a suite to get away from child this hotel has restaurant right on premises but don't expect the traditional north American menu no bacon and eggs for breakfast but the buffet is light and good to start the day then a light lunch menu didn't try it but supper had different menu each nite an i was happy most of food was supplied from local producers and was always fresh a little pricey for a couple you can spend 50 to 60 euros and that's cheep the cheapest meal during our stay we had was 24 euro's and it was a restaurant in nearby community
this hotel is close to the natural public springs and water fall and neighbors the resort spa and golf course where you actually swim in the crater but is a bit pricey fo day pass the community is in the hilly country side so driving is a good choice to get a round unless you are fit lots of hills to climb and lots of cobble stones the rooms have small showers and lots of stairs to go up and down and the owner and some of the staff do speak English the menus are both in Italian and English here but this wasn't the normal most restaurants were Italian only
we bought a breakfast included option back in Feb and traveled to surrounding areas each day to come back an soak in the pool it was great stay we ere here a week and wished it was longer my skin feels great side effect of the pool enjoy your visit i plan a return some day
- patrizia (10/5): Terme!!! - Piscina fantastica
