Compact rooms but they have everything you need, including an extra blanket and heater. Showers are hot. Tea making in the room, though not many tea bags. For the price point I would say this is good value for money.

• Freedom65062777352 (8/5): Hill Pride City Hotel - We were surprised at the poor rating goven by booking.com for this hotel- the hotel seems to be under new management and the staff could not do enough to make our stay special. Room was comfortable and clean the hillside view out of the window was charming. Evening meals were excellent as was the breakfast. A gem of a hotel for the price we would definitely stay there again.
• judenm7 (4/5): Our Experience at the hotel - The towel was torn which should have been discarded ages ago.Toilet cleanliness pretty average and hot water last few minutes before the shower finishes.Room is extremely cramped up and hardly able to walk around the bed.Toilet door is an absolute disaster.Main door lock is almost falling off.The only bright sparkle is the Reception Supervisor’Madushani’.Without her presence in the hotel this hotel will be a total disaster.She is courteous and always helpful and finding solutions and genuinely helpful.
• 320marlonr (4/5): Not guest-friendly, waste of potential. - Only a great experience or a terrible experience could get me to go online and leave a review, and this was not a great experience. For those of you who do not wish to read my rant, let me tell you this - only visit this place if you don't mind the subpar service and terrible staff attitude (this place is run like a YMCA hostel. "Hill Pride City Hostel" would be a more appropriate name). I was going to put this behind me and forget about my less-than-perfect experience because, to be honest, this is a great property! But Madhusha's (the Manager's) attitude at my checkout was the last straw, the cherry on top, so here I am wasting 15 minutes of my time. Good food, good property, good rooms, and reasonable prices BUT the staff attitude, their rules and regulations, and their unwillingness to be customer-friendly and flexible, are so off-putting and negate all that is good about this property. Day 1 - On the first day, I discovered that the gates close at 9:30 pm while I was attending a function in Nuwara Eliya. Interestingly, I had not been informed of this regulation during check-in, upon departure after check-in, or even when settling the advance payment. As I mentioned before, the operational style seemed similar to that of a YMCA hostel. Day 2 - It took a solid hour and a follow-up call to the front desk just to get them to send up a water bottle in the morning. Then, around 1:00 p.m, I decided to order some lunch. I called about five times, but no one picked up. Finally, when I got through at 1:15 pm, they told me that the kitchen had already closed, and I was out of luck for lunch. I tried again to order more water bottles because the one they sent in the morning was just 500ml. They said ok, but then, radio silence for a whole hour. After a follow-up call to check on the water situation, Madhusha casually mentions that they decided not to send any more water because they sent one bottle in the morning, and apparently, I'd be charged extra. Hey, I'm happy to pay, but how about giving me a heads-up instead of silently deciding not to send water? Communication goes a long way! Day 3 - Check-Out Experience: They say check-out is at 11:00 am, but I showed up at 11:30 am. Madhusha then tells me there's an extra fee because I'm 30 minutes late. It's not about the small LKR 500 charge (apparently, it's LKR 1000 per hour if you're late). It's more about the idea of punishing guests for being a little late, especially after not-so-great service. I asked Madhusha if she was the owner, and she first said yes. But when I didn't buy it and asked again, she admitted she was the manager. When I wanted the owner's contact info to give some feedback, she said no. Madhusha, congrats! You just earned your establishment a shiny negative review. You've missed out on a customer who frequently visits Nuwara Eliya, along with all the potential positive recommendations I could have shared. Hope the 500 Rupees was worth it.
• Marronquito (4/5): SRI Lanka tour - Very basic hotel. Room had no Aircon, fan, or hairdryer and only one towel between two. The bed was damp and not very comfortable. There is no pool, no bar and no recreation or space to sit and relax. It has no lift a d we were on the 3rd floor and had difficulty doing stairs.

• Ricky (8/5): Quite happy with my stay. - Overall I am quite happy with my stay. Read about the water pressure problem in the reviews and was a little apprehensive at first. Turns out the water pressure was very good, at least in the 2 rooms my and my friend were staying in. Some room for improvement in the administration but I'm sure it will be better the next time I visit the hotel. I'll likely stay again when I come to the area again.

• maheshikaa2022 (10/5): Cold Nuwara Eliya - We booked and went to this hotel not knowing what the outcome is. But when I was booking the hotel Manager ( Madusha) talk with me through out the booking and very polite and followed up on me till we reach there, on that confidence I predicted this hotel was good. However when we went there it was beyond our expectation. Rooms are inclusive of all necessities and very clean bathrooms with hot water and beautiful. And the chef there was great. Very humble and customer oriented. Food was really tasty. Even we got yummy deserts. Even our children were satisfied. Overall staf was great, helpful polite. Owner is great, can talk and alter any arrangement. I recommend this hotel to anyone. Great rates when travelling with family and friends. Best part is it inside Nuwara Eliya city, so you can go to carnivals and Gregory Lake and park in 10 mnts. So guys check this place 💕

Although there was no pool and the room was on the small side, this Hotel was outstanding in the service provided and quality of food cooked by the executive chef, Ananth. The owner, Trev, was keen to make our stay memorable.
• coreyc803 (10/5): Great service with amazingly comfortable beds - We had an excellent two night stay here in search of highland endemic birds in Sri Lanka. The Staff was very welcoming, right from our local chai tea at the beginning all the way to our comfortable check out. The meals were great! It was my wife's birthday and I had bought some cake for her bday and asked them to put it in the fridge overnight. The next morning for breakfast they had rose petals sprayed over the table with the "Happy Bday" text. Very special!!

I must say for all those people who love indian spices are gonna love this place. Staff here specially Mr. Rajarathna are very warm and serve you with so much love. • Aryan (2/5): Bad Experience... please avoid this Hotel - One night that we spent there was something to forget. Main disappointments listed below : 1) No proper entrance to Hotel and no Car parking. 2) No elevators in the Hotel. Had to Climb 2 staircases after a long tiring journey. 3) The TV did not work. 4) No intercom facility in the Room. 5) The untrained staff tried to fix the TV problem, and wasted 1 hour of our time, but had to ask them to leave the room finally, as we were getting frustrated. The staff does not understand English. 6) Rooms are very small with not enough space to keep 2 large suitcases... very cramped up 7) Mosquitoes in the Room 8) The electricity went off frequently and there was no candle or battery lamp provided. 9) Due to the wind, there was some noise being heard all night which was very disturbing... was probably a door / window banging due to the wind. 10) Shower water did not have any force, and the knob which lets the water flow from the shower was loose, so water did not flow from the shower. One hand had to be kept on that knob constantly. 11) Hot water was intermittently coming without any force during morning time when guests in other room were probably also having bath. 12) No great view from the room. 13) To compensate for the inconvenience, the Manager offered to provide us free desert. But the desert was not good at all. We just had one bite of the desert and left the remaining. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO SPOIL YOUR HOLIDAY !!
• Dmitry (8/5): - This is a nice, basic hotel with everything you need if you are not a luxury traveler. The rooms have everything you need but not as clean as hoped. The shower stream strength was not too good but the bed was comfortable. Location wise, this hotel is a little bit away, but walkable, from the race course / Victoria Park. The road leading up to it is pretty dark at night. But overall a decent stay if you are here for a day or two.
• David (8/5): Modern hotel on outskirts of city - Good welcome from staff and room upgrade as hotel was quiet. All the staff were friendly and helpful Room was well furnished, but bathroom was cramped and access difficult. Breakfast was poor value. The dinner menu did not suit us, so we ate out. There was a problem with water supply to our room, that disrupted having a shower in the evening. The manager was very apologetic, and reduced the price in compensation.
• Ashwin (6/5): Nice but pricey for what you get - A neat clean hotel with great service overall. Excellent breakfast. Rooms were tiny though and not well equipped. It was freezing and there were no heaters in the room. Also only enough hot water for 1 person to shower . Given this is in a cold part of the country surely heaters and more hot water would be a basic requirement. Expensive for what you get compared to our 3 prior hotels in other parts of SL on our tour. In fact it was certainly the smallest and least equipped hotel on our trip.

• Catalin (4/5): Short stay - We stayed just 2 nights. Hotel not easy to find but once you do find it you can walk in 30 minutes to main attractions in this city. Basic hotel, nothing special about it. No heating so if you travel in a period when is cold it will be quite cold to sleep three, although you can ask for extra blankets.

• nicky (8/5): Out of the way - Nice hotel, a bit out of the way, we had not realised that restaurant was not open for dinner, however staff organised a free lift into town for us!
• Verified traveler (2/5): Don't recommend due to various factors - Hotel had no boarding room option for our driver so had to pay out of pocket for another location for our driver. (Our other 5 hotels where we stayed on our trip had boarding options for free). Hotel staff lacked sense of caring or empathy towards us. Hotel was dirty, and didn't feel clean. It's location wasn't ideal either. We had 2 rooms, and one of them hadn't been stocked properly with toiletries. No elevator. Bad view. One of the room's didn't seem to have working AC.

(8/5): Nettes kleines Hotel mit freundlichem Team - Hotel liegt Zentrums-Nahe - 15min zu Fuß erreichbar, Gegend ist ruhig; Team ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit - sind extra für Frühstückspakete für Wanderung um 4 aufgestanden; Im Februar ist es kühl in den Zimmern aber es gibt Tee und Überdecken die helfen; Zimmer sind sauber aber obwohl das Hotel recht neu ist bereits einige Schäden in den Zimmern. Das stört allerdings nicht weiter, für den günstigen Preis ist die Leistung absolut in Ordnung! Für Nuwara Eliya genau das richtige Hotel!

Hotel descriptions listed the hotel having air conditioning but there's was absolutely no heating. Also, hot water turned off after 5 mins and ended up showering in ice cold water!! A complete nightmare!
