Shower was amazing, so powerful and room was nice and pillows were comfy as well, I appreciated the extra blanket available too.

• Johanna (2/5): - We just stayed at the Poland Spring Resort "Lodge" for 3 nights over Labor Day weekend. I booked through Expedia and I specifically chose the Lodge "deluxe suite" because of the photo of the room, which showed a fairly spacious looking room with a queen bed that had a dining table with two chairs and a sofa and was described as having a golf course view, which I thought would be perfect for us. After we checked in and were given our room key, we proceeded to our room, which was on the second floor at the end of a long, dark hallway. The entire place is so run down, dismal, and in desperate need of updating. Don't get me wrong, we knew beforehand that this resort is very old and historic and we were NOT expecting a 5-star experience by any means, but we certainly were not expecting this level of dreariness. It felt more like a hostel or a cheap roadside motel and was very gloomy. The door on our room was so old that it had trouble opening and closing. You had to force it shut and really pull on it to open it as the latch would stick. The key also had a difficult time turning, probably from the lock being so worn and dated. We guessed that the door was likely from the 1960s, possibly even older. Upon entering our room, I could immediately tell that the room we were given was NOT the room that was pictured on Expedia, not even close. It was significantly smaller, did not have the dining table and chairs, nor the sofa. The bed took up a majority of the room and we constantly had

• May (2/5): - Disappointed – Misleading Listing We booked and fully paid for a stay at Poland Spring Resort expecting the main resort experience shown in the photos on Expedia. However, upon arrival, we were given a room in a separate roadside motel next to the main property — not at all what was advertised. The listing used misleading pictures of the main resort building, which gave us false expectations. This bait-and-switch approach is unacceptable, and we hope Expedia updates the listing to reflect the actual accommodations provided.

• Verified traveler (4/5): M - This hotel is quite dirty and dilapidated. The paint and linoleum are peeling, everything is very old (like from the 70s or earlier), and it has a gross musty smell.

They did replace mattresses from 5 yrs earlier, a huge relief. Don't expect typical hotel services (e.g. no daily housekeeping unless you ask each day by 9 a.m. tho not a guarantee!) no in-room phone, so obviously no room service, no elevator, VERY old bathrooms, faucets, etc. Noise from surrounding rooms pretty constant. Too bad as grounds are lovely. Great history, activities available,golf course, nice pool etc and staff are friendly.

Price was high for a motel but if you were taking advantage of some of the amenities from the larger buildings/upper property, it's probably worth it. Someone was outside our door just after 8am vacuuming (which is fine - we were awake anyways) but I thought it was odd/a bit off-putting that they only vacuumed right outside our door briefly then disappeared. We're early risers so it didn't matter but just a warning for others that may like to sleep in as it definitely felt like we were being sent a message. Overall, we would probably stay again in a pinch.

• Sherry (10/5): - We had a very nice room. Nothing fancy, but it was concordance and clean and a great price. Everyone was super friendly!
• Verified traveler (10/5): - This property was fair. The bed was comfortable and the staff was nice. However the room lacked a table and chairs for eating and the decor is very outdated. We signed a paper stating the charge for dogs was $20 per pet, yet the check in clerk said they had to charge $25 per pet because the form was old. Check in papers said there would be complimentary coffee in the main lobby each morning but we didn’t see it. I give this location a “meh”. Was ok for what we paid but likely will not be back.
• Dessery (8/5): - it was a beautiful area and staff was very helpful and polite, but unfortunately, the room that I got the bathroom was dirty. There was old soap. Leftover toilet wasn’t clean and the pullout bed did not have any sheets or pillows.i had to call to get them an pull out bed smelled bad an I had to but my handicap child on that. Just glad that the staff that brought me the sheets brought a few so I can cover it good
• Delmy (8/5): - This is a great property if you don’t mind staying in rooms that are old, uncomfortable, and a bit depressing. The property itself is great—it's quiet, safe, and surrounded by pretty scenery. Maine is expensive, so this resort is a good deal, but the rooms, although clean and well-maintained, look old and cheap, and they are not comfortable.

• Tam (10/5): - Historic property on the golf course. Dated but it gives it appeal. Cant beat the price.
• Heidi (8/5): Not disabled friendly - No elevator. I am disabled. The hotel could not accommodate me for a first floor or in a building with an elevator. I did call after I made the reservation to see what could be done. Nothing.
• Robert (6/5): - Rooms are very dated and in need of a makeover. Staff is friendly and courteous. Like a throwback to the 1950’s.
• Elaine (10/5): Perfect get away spit - This place is a hidden gem. It was very clean and has a ton of activities on premises. Would love to spend a week or two here just relaxing.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place to stay - The front desk employees were amazing very friendly and helpful, the room was good, bed was comfortable the only issue was there were things under the bed our dog kept finding and bringing out no trash but kids small toys and the dogs just wanted to play with them besides that everything was great

When we booked they did not show that it was not on the "main grounds" but rather when we arrived we learned we were booked at " The Lodge" down the road from the main property. This was disappointing because the whole reason we had booked here was the beaustiful pictures of the grounds. We drove to the Lodge qnd the lady was very helpful in changing our reservation. booled
• Paul (8/5): Nice grounds, friendly staff but… - Older building but could use some updating and housekeeping needs to be aware of bookings- no sheets, pillows or bed sheets on hideaway and room was booked with 4 people.
• Joel (10/5): - Attended the Sabbathday Lake Shaker National Conference and Poland Spring was a natural fit. It's comfortable and close to Sabbathday Lake. Staff were pleasant and accomadating.

• Elvira (6/5): - Dated AC struggled to cool during an extremely humid weekend. Had to shut bathroom door to maintain temperature. Rooms need upgrades. Beautiful grounds.

• Tonia (4/5): - I booked through Expedia at a certain price then when I received confirmation it was $ 20 more per night. I spoke with Manager Sue by phone and she stated she will honor Expedia price upon check in. I arrived and she wouldn't. So Poland Spring Resort will not honor Expedia's pricing.
• Gail (8/5): - The only thing I would comment on is that bathroom should have handicap bars because the toilet is low.

• Brenda (10/5): - A beautiful, clean complex. Lots to do, delicious food, yummy drinks. I will def stay here again and bring my family. I traveled alone. I felt safe. The resort is 35 minutes to Portland airport, which I had an early flight hence my stay.

• Jodi (6/5): - Meh. I know its on the national historic register but it needs updating. Carpets need cleaning and they need more of an explanation on site restaurants and buffets.

• Diane (10/5): - The staff at Poland Spring Resort were pleasant and Mel’s Hilltop Restaurant was a great value with a beautiful view of the golf course. We really enjoyed our burgers, fries & local beer selection.

• Wesley (4/5): Worst overnight stay ever. - No coffee in the room, no milk for coffee in breakfast area, no breakfast, office opens at 8 AM nobody there even at 9 AM when we left, no wifi , TV screen so dirty I'm surprised you could even see a picture, two different places to stay but not indicated on hotels.com and we got put in the worst one .
• Lisa (8/5): Charming, clean and well-priced - Clean, quaint, basic rooms on lovely grounds. A shadow of its former glory, this resort still has an undeniable charm. Not updated, but the price can’t be beat. Reasonably priced golf, too. Nice stay over-all.
• Lynn (10/5): Poland Springs Resort - It was a beautiful Resort. It was like staying in a museum.
