Lisanne (9/5): Super, zeker aan te raden! - Het personeel was heel aardig, hielp ons altijd met taxi's en vragen. Ook de mensen die het ontbijt verzorgden waren erg aardig en het ontbijt was ook heerlijk. Vanaf de ontbijtzaal zagen we ook heel veel mooie natuur en dieren zoals een luiaard, toekan en papegaaien. Er waren helaas een aantal kakkerlakken de kamer ingekomen. Dat is natuurlijk ook het seizoen, maar had fijn geweest als er toch iets van een anti spray beschikbaar was voor de gasten.

Ryan (10/5): Great Views and Wildlife - Such an amazing location, we saw so much wildlife just sitting at breakfast in the morning, including toucans, monkeys and parrots. Really friendly staff and rooms really nice and clean. The small pool is actually great to dip in after a long day out in the park or beach. Would recommend.

David (10/5): Once we arrived, we didn't want to leave. - The view was amazing! From our balcony, we could see the sunset over the Pacific Ocean, with the hotel pool and fountain in the foreground. Nothing could be better!
Mike (5/5): Schöne Lage, Katastrophale Preis/Leistung - Die Lage war an sich super. Mit dem Auto (4x4 notwendig) sind es nur wenige Minuten zum tollen Strand mit gratis Parkplätzen direkt am Meer. In der direkten Umgebung gibt es viele tolle Restaurants & Möglichkeiten zu shoppen. Die Aussicht ist Klasse, wir haben zudem ein Faultier, verschiedene Affenarten, Echsen & Tukane aus nächster Nähe sehen können. Der Poolbereich ist grundsätzlich sehr schön & die Mitarbeitenden sind allesamt sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück war soweit okay. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist leider eine Katastrophe! Es war die mit Abstand teuerste unserer 5 Unterkünfte on Costa Rica und qualitativ leider die schlechteste. Das Hotel ist an allen Ecken und Enden sehr im die Jahre gekommen. Unsere Fliegengitter Tür war defekt (bei gleichzeitig sehr vielen Mücken in der Anlage), der Wasserhahn der Fußdusche kam uns mehrmals entgegen, die neuen Handtücher und Betlaken hatten frisch aussehende Flecken, die Möbel im Poolbereich waren fast alle defekt usw. Ich könnte hier beliebig fortführen. Für den extrem hohen Preis von über 180€/Nacht gab es dann auch noch das dünnste Toilettenpapier was es zu kaufen gibt. Das "Doppelbett" ist lediglich 120m breit und für mich ein Einzelbett. Für 2 war es uns jedenfalls deutlich zu eng. Preis und Qualität stehen leider in keinem Verhältnis. Würde das Hotel 1/3 des Preises kosten könnte ich damit sehr gut leben. So nicht, sehr schade.

Karol (3/5): La peor experiencia, no vuelvo a ese lugar. - Lo que me gusta es el hotel en sí, la naturaleza y la comida que venden, aunque los precios son muy elevados. 1. Restaurante con precios super elevados. 2. En el área de la piscina no se puede poner música, tiene que estar el volumen lo más bajo posible, sino sale la china a decir que los huéspedes se quejan, cuando ni hay nadie en el hotel, solo el grupo de 8 personas con el que estaba. 3. Servicios al cliente PESIMO: Al realizar la reserva me confirmaron las 2 habitaciones en el segundo piso y cuando llegamos nos enviaron abajo por la piscina. Al reclamar, la muchacha de recepción se indispone y nos muestra las habitaciones juntas que pedimos, claro separadas por una pared de BAMBÚ.. Si, las habitaciones ni estaban juntas.. había que caminar debajo de la lluvia para llegar a la siguiente habitación. Antes de resolver el problema la empleada, decide entregar la habitación que habíamos pedido.. a una clienta que llega después que nosotros.. Y Si.., en total mala fé.. Así que ya no se podía ir al segundo piso por que no entraban las 8 personas.. cuando la muchacha pudo haber corregido la situación antes de entregar esa habitación. En fin, tuvimos que quedarnos en las 3 habitaciones que nos asignaron, por que ya no había espacio donde mover tantas personas.
Dominik (6/5): Wurde den hohen Erwartungen nicht gerecht - Tolle Aussicht, nettes Personal, Frühstück in Ordnung, große schöne Räume, toller Balkon Überraschend massiver Straßenlärm mit Verkehr bis tief in die Nacht, total touristisch, hellhörig, kaum Bewegungsmöglichkeit auf der Anlage, Restaurantbetrieb direkt unter uns, kleiner Pool mit wenig Sitzplätzen und direkt auf dem Präsentierteller der Restaurantgäste, Fußweg zum Strand nur über die staubige Hauptstraße... mit kleinen Kindern alles nicht so optimal. Hat den extrem hohen Preis nicht gerechtfertigt.

Sylvia (8/5): - The staff were exceptional. Had a bit of an accident and they went above and beyond to try to help out. The views are beautiful, breakfast overlooking the bay was lovely, same with the views from our balcony as I spent a day recuperating and my kids enjoyed reading on the balcony in the hammock. Pura Vida! We saw some squirrel monkeys and some white faced monkeys, it was great to be so close to the wildlife around. We enjoyed the 15 min hike to (25 min back - all uphill from) the beach. Didn't really bother us, we enjoy the exercise. The room was lovely and spacious for a family of 4, didn't feel like we were on top of each other. The food was great, breakfast was so fresh, and we enjoyed a late lunch at the restaurant, delicious. The walls are incredibly thin. I could tell that our neighbour was probably a female of a certain middle age as I could hear her love of Adele and other light acoustic pop. Confirmed when I she started singing along. I would give her singing a 8 out of 10! Also the water pressure was absmal. So bad that the shower cut out halfway through washing my hair, probably as someone had turned another tap on somewhere. Had to wait a minute and try to turn it on again, which worked again. Not major inconveniences, but still to be aware of.

Laurel (10/5): Secluded little spot with an absolutely breathtaking view - would visit again! - The view was phenomenal. The breakfast was alright, nothing special, but delicious coffee and fruit, and the staff was super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The pool is small but the view from the pool area and from the dining areas was absolutely gorgeous.

My fiancé cleaned the white ceiling fan so we could circulate the air in the room without spreading dirt all over the room.

Enclave increíble en un hotel muy cuidado con vistas a la bahía (se pueden atisbar diferentes pájaros y otros animales desde la zona de la piscina, si tienes suerte). El desayuno es excelente y la habitación, amplísima y muy cómoda. Especial mención a Jorge, excelente profesional quien nos atendió durante la cena en el restaurante coreano con el que cuenta el hotel. No hemos podido estar más cómodos, recomendamos.

PerSonalet er rigtig søde. - Der er en super dejlig udsigt udover træer og vandet, både fra restaurant og værelset. 4 personers værelset som vi havde var delt op i 2 rum, og havde køleskab. Dejlige cocktails i baren, med happy hour om eftermiddagen. Dyrelivet i træerne rundt om hotellet. Vi kunne gå ned til 2 fantastiske strande på ca. 15 min. Flere gode restauranter tæt på, også på hotellet. Poolen var ikke så stor, men rigtig flot og fantastisk udsigt.

Es wurde lange nichts mehr investiert. Es funktioniert alles, ist aber veraltet. Hat uns nicht wirklich gestört, denn das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis für die Lage war ok.

Simon (8/5): Lovely place to stay - Breakfast was great. Views were amazing. The beach (biesanz) IS NOT a 15 minute walk! It is more like a 40 minute walk. We ended up driving to the nearest parking and walking down (ten minute walk from the car). We didn't go to Playatas but that would have been a similar distance
Sharon (8/5): - The owner is on site and very helpful. The property has amazing views of the jungle with the ocean in the backgeound, visible from I believe every room. The on site restaurant has Korean and American food, a happy hour, and a very good buffet breakfast, with a gal ready to make you an omlette. The rooms, garden and pool areas could use a bit more TLC and I believe the owner is working toward that. For a 2 night stay it met our needs, but any longer and we would have needed a larger room. Our bathroom needed some shelf space at least to put your toothbrush on 😁 as an example. There are monkeys that come through to raid the mango tree, very fun to watch and a few took some banana pieces from me. Very fun!!

Caitlin (10/5): - We loved our stay here and would stay here if we ever came back!! The rooms aren’t so modern with the furniture and bathroom and towels but it’s charming. We had a balcony that overlooked the ocean and every morning from 530-730 animals were flying around (toucans, macaws, howler monkeys) we even saw a sloth - our hotel was way better than the national park tour we had! The owner is so lovely and warm and willing to offer to help with tours and recommendations. She is so sweet and friendly and has an interesting story (she usually comes around during breakfast and Dinner to make sure you’re enjoying your stay) and even has a Korean restaurant in the hotel which is amazing!! They also have a cute dog lucky on tne property. Hotel is walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. Beach is walkable but is more of a little hike- there are buses however I think for a dollar that are close or taxis that can take you so you don’t have to walk up the hill. They offer towels for the beach at the hotel. Pool is also really nice.

Violeta (9/5): Truly spectacular sunsets and wildlife watching mornings - We booked a superior double room & it did not disappoint! The views at this hotel were spectacular (see pictures) and the wildlife was wonderful (see pictures). Every morning I’d wake up and watch the wildlife for 30-60m, basically saw everything you’d want to (monkeys, agoutis, toucans, iguanas, hummingbirds & lots of other birds). It was pricey but we were staying in peak season and after 1 night I realised how it was actually great value for money. The pool is small but ideal, the staff are incredibly friendly and booked excursions for us & the breakfast has that spectacular view! The location is a reasonable walk from Bienanz beach, which is small but nice and swim friendly, but I recommend the walk (or 380 colon bus) to Manuel Antonio beach as it’s much larger and has restaurants. It’s a short 5m walk from the supermarket and a plethora of restaurants. I strongly recommend having at least one sunset dinner at Carambola, the hotel restaurant, the views are unreal and the food is great. Couple downsides were the balcony door in our room was quite tough to move, that will need some maintenance as it’s somewhat broken. The curtains also don’t really block much/any light (in a room that’s 40% windows) but we just went to bed at 10am and woke up naturally at 6:30am. Also, be careful with ants, my back got destroyed while sun bathing briefly!
Sarah (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay at Mango Moon Villa. It was a small and quiet place with attentive staff. The buffet breakfast was delicious. The views were incredible. The area is very walkable with many shops and restaurants within 5-15 minutes. There’s also a bus stop 5 minutes up the hill which made local transportation very easy! We’d definitely stay here again!
Carrie (8/5): - Clean and safe, but in need of some attention to upkeep. Loved that the restaurant had Korean options (even if it seemed overpriced). Loved the view (with a sunset view in February) and location - monkey visits every day! I would stay again just for this. Breakfast was very good.
Nicholas (1/5): Very Disappointing - The views were very good, food was good too if overpriced and the staff other than management/owner were very helpful This hotel has real problems - beware. The walk to the room round the outside was tatty and dirty – nothing that a good jet wash would not solve. We arrived to a room that stank of bleach, to a point that it made us feel ill. The explanation was the air conditioning had been serviced, but on examination of the room we found evidence of damp and mould on the walls. Being in a position of having to stay at least one of the three nights booked we woke to find all our clothes felt damp. We also realised that we had been sleeping on a plastic under sheet, not pleasant when the room was very hot and clammy! The room was badly furnished with old worn out furniture making it look and feel cheap and tatty. The air conditioning unit was either on or off and blew cold air right across the bed – the owner suggested we wouldn’t need it at night! Initially a new room was suggested for the 2nd night but the offer turned into nothing and the owner ignored us in the evening and following morning. We decided to cut our losses and leave, we tried to get a refund for the cancelled nights via Booking.com but the hotel did not reply to their message and seem powerless to help further.
Kristy (10/5): Lovely place - We loved our stay at Mango Moon! The breakfast was good and the view is amazing. We stayed in the 2 bedroom room with one bathroom which is on the top floor. Our view was excellent. We could see the water and lots of wildlife. We saw capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, macaws, and many other birds. The sunsets were amazing from here. The pool area is comfortable and we never had trouble finding a place to sit. The pool itself was very refreshing. The rooms could use a few easy updates. For example extension cords and coat hooks. There were only a few places to plug our electronics in and almost nowhere to hang towels or any clothes. One of our rooms has a large king bed which was comfortable. The other room had two single beds. The location is great, although you do have to walk a bit uphill to get to the main part of Manuel Antonio (a small bit of exercise!). To get down to the closest beach is definitely a trek though. Ubers were easy to get in the area as well.
Lisa (6/5): Avoid standard room, otherwise nice views - Views and breakfast Breakfast staff was very nice Close to Manuel Antonio STANDARD Room- you get no views, it is tucked away in a corner, they have two of them room 5 and 9. Shower curtain was dirty. Walls are paper thin and sounds like people are having a conversation in your room. Curtains don’t cover the window fully. Drawers don’t open well. Restaurant - food is good but very expensive 21$ plus tax plus tip for a small poke bowl, and a not so happy hour with 9$ a cocktail
Alberto (10/5): Great Stay at Mango Moon - The view was amazing. Staff is friendly. Hotel is centrally located. I would highly recommend this place and stay here again. There is also a very good Korean Bbq restaurant inside.
Laur (10/5): - We had an amazing stay at this charming boutique hotel just outside of Quepos close to the Manuel Antonio Park. It truly embodies a lovely Costa Rican vibe , with its vibrant mango-colored building and mango trees. Our room was on the top level where we could enjoy beautiful rainforest and ocean views and every morning, we could hear the thump thump thump of little feet on the roof and we knew to go outside to enjoy the monkeys, squirrel monkeys and white-faced monkeys right off our balcony with the distant sounds of howler monkeys adding to the experience. We were frequently treated to the sight of macaws , especially during happy hour, which was offered in the excellent restaurant where you could enjoy stunning sunset views and two-for-one drinks. One of the dinners we had was a delicious Korean barbecue cooked at our table and breakfast was exceptional, featuring made-to-order omelettes, fresh fruits, bread, and delicious juices and coffee. There’s a refreshing little pool where you can chill out after a day of touring and enjoy the sounds of the rain forest. The staff is super helpful and friendly and enhanced our stay. We spent five nights here and were so glad we chose this hotel as our home base.

Carlos (10/5): - Great hotel and staff! The staff assisted me decorate my room to surprise my now fiance to propose to her to surprise her. And they helped wash my clothes when I made a math error lol of not packing enough for the trip. Outstanding free breakfast every morning as well. Five star experience and I would recommend everybody going to Manuel Antonio or Quepos to stay in this hotel. Pura vida!

Great view, hot shower etc. and we paid the same price. Get room 11. All the other rooms had nice outside areas too. I just think I booked the wrong room. Do not get room #5.

Gretchen (10/5): We loved this place and would definitely visit again! - The view from our balcony was so beautiful! The beds were comfy and the shower was great. We saw monkeys and macaws and tucans. The owners were also so friendly. The food in the restaurant was good, but breakfast felt overpriced to me. There was no coffee in our room and it wasn't entirely clear if it was free for guest. I helped myself every morning, and no one seemed to mind, but it would have been nice to know.
Zerin (10/5): Lovely lovely hotel - The garden, pool, ocean view at the sunset with gorgeous birds flying around; this is how heaven should look like! Extra points for front desk and kitchen staff, they went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable.
Daniel (10/5): Wonderful short stay. - From the check in to check out we had a great experience. I think it was Anderson who we worked with the most and he was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The cook that made the breakfasts was sweet and did a nice job with the omelettes and the bar/happy hour drinks were good too! We enjoyed the pool. The beach was not convenient to get to however so be aware. We only stayed 2 nights to experience Manuel Antonio. The room was small but clean and perfect for our short stay. The views are beautiful from the restaurant, pool and the room we had. I would not recommend for families but for couples it’s perfect. We had a car, you can walk to things but on a busy narrow road that has killer hills. Just be aware. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night and it was very good. You do need a reservation as they only have a few tables.
Amanda (8/5): Very good - The views, location, pool and breakfast were great. The price is inflated but that seems to be the norm for the area. My husband made a reservation at the restaurant for my birthday. When we arrived they had to get a table ready, they didn’t acknowledge my birthday so that was a disappointment.
Jill (9/5): A fabulous highlight was seeing a sloth and her baby in the canopy right outside our balcony! A fabulous privilege! - Great location overlooking tree tops and the sea. Staff were all helpful and friendly and always eager to help. Some fabulous sunsets while sharing some cocktails from the terrace bar! Pool and surrounding area needed a little tlc and clean up.

Tien-Tien (10/5): - My family with 3 kids stayed here recently and loved everything about this charming hotel. Fran and Jake were amazing hosts- helping give ideas about places to visit and things to do (helped book awesome private surf lessons). Walking distance to 2 beaches, breakfast was fresh and wonderful. The restaurant on the premise was delicious- Korean bbq sea eel a must try! On top of all this, we were able to see a ton of animals from our balcony and room: 3 types of monkeys, sloths, toucans, macaws…could not recommend this place more!

Jemma (9/5): A little gem in Manuel Antonio - highly recommend - This is a little gem in Manuel Antonio. The view is absolutely beautiful (perfect to watch sunset), the restaurant serves the most delicious food and drinks, the rooms are cosy and the staff are truly wonderful and do everything to help you. Special shout out to Jeff, Lillian and Jorge! It’s a short walk from the beach as well as the supermarket, ATM and restaurants. We would definitely stay again. Our only feedback would be that it would be helpful to have a safe in the room.
Ilene (10/5): - There are not enough nice things I can say about Mango Moon Villa! I just spent 6 days there with my family and it was an incredible experience. The ocean views are amazing. You will never get tired of looking at this view. But the staff was probably the best part. They are so nice and willing to help you with anything you need. I chose this hotel because it included the breakfast and wildlife. Having breakfast with the monkeys is an experience I will never forget. We had dinner a couple of times and every meal was delicious. Lastly, you are close to the shopping area. It’s a 5-minute uphill walk to the market, pizzeria, bank, and several shops. Don’t think about it, just book this place already!

Elaine (5/5): Disappointed- we left early - The staff, Jefferson and other front desk plus the restaurant team were all super friendly and helpful. Food at restaurant was very good. The room we stayed in was very quiet and had a good view( we paid extra for a superior room) which is good but it had more drawbacks as outlined below. Our superior room had a lack of privacy with no full length curtains or full coverage curtains. At night you had to turn the light off to get changed and we also had to place bags around the bottom of the windows which faced the pool so people couldn’t look in to the room.. The sliding patio doors to our balcony were very bad quality and the fly screen door wouldn’t stay in place so was not useful at all. The room was generally tired and could do with a revamp. It felt more like backpacker accommodation as opposed to a general hotel accommodation. Items listed on Booking.com that we should’ve had in our superior room were not available to us, hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities etc. This was the last of our hotels on our Costa Rica trip and we stayed at numerous three star hotels and this by far the most disappointing room. We did try and raise our concerns of privacy and level of disappointment with the room with the owner/manager but they said they were too busy to see us and to email them . We have written and emailed them several times and only had a curt acknowledgment response with no offer of refund - as we left two nights early and moved to Shana by the beach hotel which is 500 m down the road, same price if you include the breakfast and was really far superior to mango.

Michele (8/5): Nice location and animal viewing! - Good location for walking to the beach in one direction and to restaurants in the other. We saw howler and squirrel monkeys from our balcony and sloths across the street. It was nice having the restaurant right next door, and a great view from there. The apartment itself had everything we needed and was comfortable. Being right on the road, you hear and smell the traffic going by and parking/backing out onto the road is tough.
Tracy (10/5): Exceptional - Nice view to look out to the ocean and restaurant is excellent. Staffs are friendly and willing to assist. I will recommend friends to stay when they visit Manuel Antonio. Just a minor thing…..the TV in our room did not work. Staff tried to fix but we could not use it. Also, there is no Netflix or cable as an alternative to watch instead of local channels.
Kimya (8/5): - I chose this property mostly based on location and proximity to surrounding shops, restaurants and activities. The staff were super friendly and rooms were clean and accommodating for the price and area. A nice breakfast was included too which set me up for the rest of the day. I highly recommend one of the front rooms with private balconies which are usually kept for couples. They offer Korean restaurant too while enjoying the views. For me, the highlight of this property was the spectacular views of the surrounding jungle, the pool below and of course the beautiful Espadilla beach. Local shops and restaurants were all accessible within walking distance and the beach was only a 15 minute bus ride away. I definitely enjoyed my stay there in November and the tropical rain was a charm and didn't stop me from doing lots of walking around and other activities.
julie (6/5): - We loved the ambiance but hated the clunking noise the happened every 30monutes 24/7 right behind the headboard of our bed. We both came down with the stommach flu the 2nd day andy husband could barelymove for about 18 hours. I would have asked to be moved to a different room if he hadn't been so sick. The veiw was beautiful and the birds. Butterflies and monkeys all around were delightful
Robert (4/5): - The negatives far outweigh the only positive which was free breakfast. It was the noisiest property I’ve stayed in with trucks and motorcycles rumbling from sun up until midnight. Hot water was an issue due to a breaker tripping 3 times in 2 days. The pool was closed due to maintenance There wasn’t a hair dryer in the room. The room definitely was not worth the high price I paid - $220 per night

Easy to get to Manuel Antonio by bus or car. Lots of nearby restaurants etc. The only recommendation for the owners we have is to replace (or even just remove) a few pieces of furniture that have seen better days.

Troy (10/5): - We stayed here with our three boys for four nights this past week and had the best vacation we have ever had. The owner and staff were great and treated us like family. They ordered us transportation to and from the hotel when needed which was very helpful. The restarant and bar area are 5 stars in our opinion. We saw monkeys, sloths, and wild birds all week from our balcony. I wish I had gotten all the staff names, but Liliana and Jorge were awesome! We plan to visit again for sure very soon. Troy
Raul (6/5): Old Room - exorbitant price - The views are beautiful; you can see the sea and vegetation. The breakfast is very varied and complete, with a buffet that includes omelets made on the spot. The pool is cool and has views The rooms are old and haven't been renovated since Costa Rica's independence. In Spain, these would be roadside hostel rooms. If it didn't cost what it does, the hotel would be average compared to what you see in Costa Rica. Given the price paid, it's completely exorbitant.
