Guest Reviews
- Shelley (8/5): - Big room. Great location.
- Michael (10/5): - Room was spacious and conveniently located
- CARLOS (8/5): - Close to the famous Piazza de Popolo
- Anne (6/5): - Great location. Lots of dinning spots within walking distance. Close to a number of attractions. Breakfast comprises of dry croissant (if you can call it that). Host very friendly and helpuful. Property needs lots of upgrading.
- Arnold (8/5): - Lack of privacy.
- Anna (10/5): - We had a very nice stay at Domus Ripetta in mid July, 2025. Big room, beautiful romantic view, but what truly made it great was the location! In the middle of everything, we only took a taxi to the Vatican because it was super hot that day, otherwise we walked everywhere- Spanish steps were only 5 minutes away! The owner was accommodating and very nice. The apartment was not super modern nor luxurious, but you don't go to Rome for that- it was quaint and just felt like Rome all over.
- natalie (10/5): - nice comfortable stay in a great location! really close to a lot of things + the public transportation was convenient too
- Steven (10/5): - Great communication with host. Very accommodating in sorting out things when my flight was delayed. Old building full of character and I really enjoyed the stay.
- julio (10/5): - My wife and I really enjoyed our stay, Ginevra, the owner, was very informative and welcoming. We definitely recommend this B&B.
- Linda (8/5): - Excellent location, close to the Plaza del Popolo. Clean and spacious room. Quiet hotel, could hear the birds singing outside the window. Breakfast was a bag of croissants and jelly in the fridge. You cook your coffee in a little pot on the stove. No front desk or staff on premises--you get the key to your room, your bathroom and the front door. But we were fine with this, "When in Rome. . ."
- Lars (4/5): - Fantastisk beliggenhed – men skuffende rengøring og faciliteter
- Cristina (2/5): Suciedad y abandono - La suciedad era aberrante.
- Mehrdad (2/5): Terrible place to stay - This is a B&B, not a hotel, it is a three bedroom apartment. Each bedroom is given to a different person. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom and there is a shared kitchen. We stayed for four days and the service we received was TERRIBLE. There was no reception and the hostess kept us waiting in the street for twenty minute & when she came she was rude and not apologetic even. The bed sheets were dirty. FILTHY. There was supposed to be a room service every three days, but we never saw here aftercthe first day and there was no cleaning at all.
I have stayed in many places in many different countries and this was by far the WORST. I do not recommend this place at all.
- Mariana (10/5): - It’s the second time we stay at Domus Ripetta, it’s so close to everything and the room is great.
- Sten (10/5): - An absolutely adorable B&B. If you're not in need of constant service, that is, because here you very much mind yourself, which I love. Though the area is lively enough, the rooms open to a very quiet courtyard which makes them really calm. Lovely area, good transports, everything was nice.
- Jane (10/5): - A wonderful place to stay, and a perfect location, very close to metro, and everything in walking distance to all famous sites. Quiet and clean.
- Sofia (6/5): - The place was very basic, as we expected. The room was quite nice and quiet and the bed was comfortable but there were several small things missing, like a garbage can or a hook. The bathroom was private but down the hall which was also ok but the keys to open the bathroom and bedroom were the same single set and it was an old-style set so very bulky and noisy and inconvenient to use. Also, arranging for check-in time was a little stressful as our host is not often there... and it's a bit hard to be so punctual when you are travelling. Also, the breakfast was do it yourself which would have been fine but there was really only room for one set of guests at a time in the kitchen and only one coffee maker and very few coffee cups so you can’t count on it.
- Anna-Carin (10/5): - Väldigt bra läge, gångavstånd till mycket! Trevlig värd. Bra information. Enkelt boende, bra pris.
- ANNETTE (10/5): - Great check in. Super friendly and helpful. Charming place. Close to everthing. We enjoyed ourselves.
- kalyan chakravarthi (6/5): - i just hope the bathroom has a full shower curtain, the bath was always wet because of half shower glass. being from US, my family dreaded taking bath in the bath we got. the location is best. the building is old, but so beautiful, 2 min walk to piazza poppolo from where the tours start
- Jorge (10/5): - Very recommend
- Erandy (8/5): - Check in process was smooth and easy. Our host was very nice. We had no issues. Felt safe and it was very convenient location. We had everything we needed to make our short stay memorable.
- Richard (6/5): - The owner was very helpful and stayed late to meet us. Our one complaint was that the bathroom was dingy and not clean.
- Vincent James Apostolico, (6/5): - We thought the bathroom was very small, but it did seem to work for us. We are used to B&B’s preparing breakfast. I didn’t like cleaning the dishes used by the other guests.
The location is very convenient. It’s in walking distance to many of the places we wanted to see. There is no lack of terrific eateries in the immediate area.
We were disappointed at having to wait outside, with our luggage, for an extended time period of time, when we arrived in order to check-in.
All and all it was a pleasant stay.
- Hong (10/5): - Easy check in. Great location
- jenny (6/5): - The owner always reply on time. But the place is old and not very clean and only one towel and no changes in 3 days. It is not damp as the weather now is wet.
- Gary (10/5): - Friendly, clean, quiet and excellent location
- Namik (4/5): - Indoor conditions was terrible. Bathroom was very dirty. Tub was full of water during taking a shower. Bed sheets and blankets were also dirty. There were some hair on them.
- Mariana (10/5): - Amazing location and amazing property!
- heather (8/5): - Great location comfy bed. Had trouble opening doors I found the keys difficult
Overall a great stay we stayed for 5 nights
- Lisa (10/5): - It ticked all the boxes. We had privacy, cleanliness and easy access to all the top sights and restaurants. Would recommend and stay again. Good value for money.
- John (6/5): - We enjoyed our stay at Domus Ripetta. It was within walking distance from the Trevi Fountain and The Spanish Steps. The room was simple, clean and quiet. It was perfect for our needs.
- Rafiul (4/5): - Good location, and you get what you pay for, I guess! Checkout is by 9:30am and they charge you to store any bag for any amount of time! Is the early checkout to ensure cleanliness? I sure would hope so since I definitely missed out on that. It is an old building, yes, but I have stayed at places much older and for good price, but this felt seriously underwhelming. I hope conditions get better for the next guests!
- Lavinia (10/5): - Domus Ripetta was great. Our room was huge, bed comfortable, water in bathroom hot and loved having a table with chairs and a sofa. WiFi was good. We had the Suite with external bathroom. Not an issue. The bathroom was virtually right outside our room door and it was a good size. There is a lounge area to sit in but we didn’t use it as our room was spacious. Having the small kitchen to make tea and coffee was good too. The breakfast is basic and not to my taste but that is not a criticism. I am not a pastry person, however my partner is and he enjoyed it. The building has a lift which is so welcome when you have heavy cases. We traveled by public transport and caught a taxi from Termini. For our stay we used the Metro which was about a 5 minute walk away, Flaminio at Piazza del Popolo. Up that way there are options to use buses and a tram to get around. There are also plenty of dining options and we took our host’s advice and used the two she suggested. Very reasonable and both had delicious food. Our host’s communication prior to our arrival was excellent and she was available for any assistance needed during our stay. We would definitely recommend this property for short or extended stays. Loved it!
- Aaron (10/5): - Domus Ripetta is a great little spot. The host Ginevra was very welcoming. Food and cafes are nearby. The Spanish Steps are close as well.
- Stephanie (8/5): - Excellent location, lovely welcome. Very nice spacious room, private bathroom down the corridor, useful use of kitchen. Lots of character, loved it.
- tatiana (8/5): - Nice place... the only thing I didn't like is that the breakfast is poor. In general - good, everything is close!
- Vanessa (10/5): - The owner is super nice and helpful. The location is amazing! You can walk everywhere. There were some insanely loud birds in the courtyard that made sleeping a little hard (they cawed all night), but that was probably just a random occurrence. Great place!
- Nicolae (10/5): - Very good stay, very clean and amazing aircon, excellent location.
Host waited for us 1h30min extra to check in.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Perfect location, comfortable accommodation - Excellent location. Ginevra was very accommodating, helpful and informative. Only complaints are the tiny sink in the bathroom that was difficult to use and a dog in the building that barked most of the first night we were there. Definitely would recommend for a few nights because of the comfort and location.
- Clint (6/5): - We stayed here for 3 nights in June 2023. The bed is very comfy. Ac worked great. Perfect location near the Piazza de Poppello. 15 min walk to Vatican, Trevi, and Spanish Steps. However, the locks were very annoying. It was an old skeleton key. Since the bathroom wasnt attached, we had to lock and unlock the door and bathroom door each time we used it.
The host was very nice and had great communication.
Overall 3/5 stars
- Kelly (10/5): - This was a great central location. The room was very large and the bathroom was nice, especially because it was private.
- Jose (10/5): - The owner was very nice and accommodating. The room was great and located in a great area. Next time we return to Rome this will be our top pick for sure
- Denis (8/5): - Was ok
- Beth (10/5): - Wonderful location and great staff
- Oziel Guerrero (10/5): - It was great overall, only the wifi connection didn’t work properly most of the time
- Victoria (10/5): - Our family really enjoyed our stay at Domus Ripetta! The location was an easy walking distance to nearly every major tourist site in Rome, and was parallel to a big shopping street so there was easy access to food and shopping as well. The owner was very friendly and helpful in finding good spots to eat around the area. The only things worth noting that may make this not a good fit for some is that provided breakfast was light, and the private bathroom was not attached to the room. We didn't mind this though. :) I would definitely stay here again!
- Kevin (10/5): - This was a 5 star stay based on its location and the friendliness of the host …it’s a modest breakfast or an excellent price ..in the heart of everything you want to see in Rome …would not hesitate to recommend this location …Kevin Jennings
- Wanda (8/5): - Just had trouble with the locks
- Luis (10/5): - The person at the Airbnb is outstanding. They are in contact with the client weeks before the check in . And they send messages and if it’s necessary they call you to settle everything every detail. It’s a great place I fully recommend.
- Adam (10/5): - This place is in the perfect location and the hosts are fantastic! Getting around is so convenient and there is so much to see nearby.
- Kathleen (10/5): - Hotel is centrally located to attractions. The 3 person room was spacious, clean and beds comfortable. The hostess was friendly and helpful. There was coffee and pastries in the kitchen at all times. Thank you for the lovely stay!
- Paul (8/5): No frills but great for the price - Pros: Quiet place, everything is explained and then you are on your own, breakfast food always available, great price for a clean room, elevator, close to taxi stop, close to large city park and many tourist spots
Cons: Keys are a little hard to use, elevator very small, your bathroom is down the hall (not connected to your room)
- Paola (8/5): - The host was great and very helpful when she gave us the instructions. When I booked the room I did not read the bathroom was outside of the room so it’s important to keep that in mind if you’re looking for privacy and convenience. Location is great and it was a great value for what we paid. We would recommend staying there.
- Marilyn (6/5): - Let me start by saying the owner was at the property at the agreed time and was delightful and that was the only time we saw her. I can not call this a B&B, you have a self serve espresso maker, a loaf of bread and jam, help your self and clean up after yourself, cleaning materials in kitchen were very old and dirty and I threw them out. My stay was 7 nights and only had the cleaning lady in our room once, not what I was expecting. The location was great for walking to all the sites in Rome. If you are just looking for a place to sleep this was okay but I have to comment on the people in the apartment below us were screaming and fighting all night long on multiple nights so not much sleep was had.
- Debbie (10/5): - Three of us stayed here and the room was large, quite and comfortable. The shower was always hot and powerful. The best thing about staying here was how close it was to everything. Great stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Aside from being a lovely B&B that was centrally located in the heart of Rome's major attractions our host really went the extra mile for us. After having my cell phone fall out of my pocket during a taxi ride our host allowed us to overcome the language barrier in tracking down my phone by calling all the major taxi companies on our behalf. We were able to recover both and expensive phone and all the vacation photos it contained 100% due to her efforts. There aren't enough stars I can give. Grazie mille!
- ron gerald (10/5): Excellent choice for a beautiful trip - Very good place to stay.Ginevra is nice and accommodating owner. Point of interest are all close by. Definitely will come back and stay here.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not what we expected but great location - We were expecting a B&B as the description portrays, however, what you’re actually booking is someone’s home to share with other guests & no staff presence. As entering the home, we were greeting with a pungent smell. It took us some time to place it but finally concluded it was coming from the kitchen. One of us thought it was expired milk while another thought it was the smell of the kitchen not having a good scrub down. The host did put out breakfast items: half a bag of cereal, a packaged pound cake, crackers, and coffee. We went through the cabinets (to find soap) when we noticed the dishes she sat out for us were dirty and saw there was in fact expired milk and other items like what she’d set out so we did not eat the breakfast. Not only was this an issue, but you’re required to pay a $54 cleaning fee; this place is the dirtiest place we have stayed in during our 19 day trip. The floors looked like they hadn’t been swept/mopped in quite some time. There was curly black hairs all over the bathroom (the tub, toilet, floor). We washed the toilet ourselves before using. Beds were fine but the blankets are duvets without a duvet cover which wouldn’t be an issue except, given the fact that the rest of the place was really dirty it left us to believe they’re probably not washed after each guest’s stay. Now, the host is very nice and gives you tons of helpful info. She was kind enough to allow us to leave our luggage the day we checked out until our flight. Location was great!
- Victoria (10/5): Domus Ripetta perfect for our Italian vacation - Truly a wonderful place to stay in Rome. Location is perfect. Able to walk to some sights, metro station & taxi stand are very close. Great restaurants in the neighborhood. Rooms are clean and comfortable with really cute art work on the walls. Kitchen is a shared space with everything provided for breakfast. The owner is so helpful in providing info on where to eat and how to get around. No complaints about anything during our 3 night stay.
- Victoria (10/5): - Perfect location, friendly and knowledgeable owner
- Nano (10/5): - Perfect location, large room and very clean. Ginevra was a great help. Highly recommended!!!!
- Sasha (10/5): - Location was great. Host met us at B and B and showed us around before giving us our keys. We had our own private room with and AC and our own private bathroom. The only shared space was the living room and kitchen. This place is a gem we are so glad we took the chance. It’s cute, clean and has everything you need. I would highly recommend you won’t be disappointed.
- Annalise (10/5): Roman perfection!! - Waking up to church bells chiming...Hands down the best inn I’ve ever stayed in! You’re greeted by superwoman herself who gives you a quick, yet detailed run down of the place and the surrounding area with her personal recommendations included. The mattress is extremely comfortable and you’ll sleep like a baby! The rooms are large and you have you your own private washroom. You’re in the heart of the city and just a few steps from everything you could possibly think of. We never needed anything but our own two feet to get around. We were legitimately sad to leave!
- Jacqueline (10/5): - The air conditioner was a little bit weak but still worked. And felt a little bit cramped because there was 4 of us with not very much space. One bed was super uncomfortable. Other then that the service was great, very helpful. Answered calls right away, great breakfast!
- Steven (10/5): Lovely B&B close to the centre - We had a great stay. Ginevra was very helpful before our arrival and when we made it to the B&B. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended!
- Helen (10/5): Excellent location - Excellent location, clean better for 2 people not 4 people, sofa bed was very uncomfortable!
- Tony (8/5): City center - Hotel is within walking distance cfrom all the major attractions.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Modern style B&B in a Prime Location - We stayed at Domus Ripetta first week of June 2018. My kids (4 and 6 years old) loved it especially the decoration. The owner was very helpful and answered all of our questions about the area and gave us useful tips for the effective use of our time. The location is really good as it is only 5 minutes walk from Piazza Popolo. Overall we had a great time.
- Joseph (10/5): - Great location. Having a lift was nice to get bags up.
- keitaro (10/5): - Nice and helpful staff who speaks good English. Gave us recommendations on where to eat, see, etc.
The location was ideal where you can walk to all major sites.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best Bed and Breakfast we’ve stayed in! - Our family has the most excellent time at Domus Ripetta. So much space in our room. The bathroom was large and the location is fantastic. So close to both the Metro and the bus stops. I recommend Domus Ripetta and hope to return someday.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to all the sights - Great check in experience, and the rooms were very clean. Breakfast was simple and nice. The only downside would be the constant fluctuation in water temperature when showering, it went from steaming hot to ice cold and back to hot.
Stayed 3 days and it was a very good experience.
- Huma (10/5): A lovely place to stay to see the sights - The B&B itself was lovely, clean and comfortable, we had everything we needed and it was located in the best place. We could easily walk to any of the famous sites from the hotel at any time of day. We used to start our walks by crossing a side street onto Via Del Corso where all the main shops are and getting a gelato. It was about 15-20 minutes to Trevi fountain and the Spanish Steps and about 25 minutes to the Colosseum.
The owner Ginevra was extremely helpful and gave us a map and guide of the best places to go, she spoke wonderful English. Through email correspondence she even organised our taxi to and from the airport in a luxurious car for 50 euros each way. The lady who makes breakfast doesn't speak English at all but is lovely. Unfortunately there isn't much to eat for breakfast.
We had the babuino room which has an en suite bathroom, it was small but nice with a hairdryer. We didn't take a photo of the room as it was exactly as pictured on her page. Our window opened onto the interior of the building so it wasn't much of a view :P
