Guest Reviews
- Hubert (10/5): - Absolute 6 star stay. Loved interacting with Robert and Ruth, who provide a very comfortable room on updated premises, and a superb breakfast. We loved that there was accessible private parking and everything was walkable.
- Chris (10/5): - Bob and Ruth were fantastic. The property is pristine and the location is perfect for exploring Inverness.
- Clayton (8/5): Great stay with one caveat - Robert and Ruth were excellent hosts, the room was comfy and we enjoyed breakfast. The location is pretty convenient to downtown, although parking is a challenge. The street is very narrow and crowded, and the parking lot (while appreciated) is not readily accessible.
- xuan lan (10/5): - The host was pleasant and friendly. Room was roomy and clean. Breakfast was great. The hostress was a little rude at first when we ended up in the backyard instead of the front. Gps got us to the back of the property where there was a big sign with the name of the B andB and a sign on the gate with an arrow pointing straight saying entrance is on aryle street. We assumed we were on argyle street, not realizing we were on argyle terrance. She didnt need to snap that if we had read the sign we would know that the entrance was on argyle street... this is our first trip to Scotland, we did not realize that a property can have two addresses with the same number on two similar street name.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Cute place and lovely couple that owns the place. A very homey feel to the stay. Breakfast was nice and thoughtfully prepared. The only downside was the location. If you’re walking to it, it’s a lot of uphill steps
- John (10/5): - Warm, friendly hosts. In a quiet residential neighborhood, but just a few minutes walk from the city center, the River Ness, and the train and bus stations.
- Sarah (10/5): - We loved our stay at Rossmount Guest house. The hosts made us feel completely at home with freshly made breakfasts each morning and great restaurant and activity recommendations around the city. The location was convenient, quiet, and safe. The house was also clean, warm, and inviting. If we could give 6 stars, we would!
- PETER (10/5): - Host Robert was the icing on the cake of our very comfortable 4-night stay. He was accommodating in every way, and his sense of humor made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
- JoAnn (10/5): - Loved our stay with Robert and Ruth as much as we loved Inverness. Great witty conversation. Very comfortable and lovely stay with wonderful breakfast. Easy walk to town.
- Lisa (10/5): - Rossmount Guest House is a lovely place to stay! Not far from the station, and an easy walk to several nice areas of the city. The owners were absolutely lovely. We had an early tour for the isle of skye and they made sure to have some breakfast items set aside for us so we could eat before the tour. They gave us some good recommendations for dinner and they were just so sweet. The rooms were lovely, clean, and comfortable. The cooked breakfast we had on the second day was very nice. Highly recommend!
- Neil (10/5): - The owners were great. The location was within easy walking distance of many sights. The breakfast was wonderful.
- Desmond Andrew (10/5): - Robert & Ruth were just the most welcoming and interesting hosts! Breakfast was wonderful and not to be missed! I amazed they don't even take payment until you are ready to leave. We almost left without paying due to thinking that our credit card was already charged. Would definitely visit again. They are like old friends!
- Philip (10/5): - Amazing hospitality and conversation, wonderful local, home cooked breakfast made to order was wonderful! Would stay again!
- Peter (8/5): - Great breakfast and friendly welcoming hosts. Location was great with off-street parking
- James (10/5): - If you're looking for a friendly, safe and comfortable stay this is the place to be. The couple who run it are very pleasant and outgoing. My wife and I were well looked after during our stay. The food was quality, fresh and well made. The rooms were well cared for and clean. We really enjoy staying in a place where people truly care about their home, city and country. These are people who care about their guests and it shows.
- Wilfred (10/5): - Very nice and friendly. Great breakfast.
- Steven (10/5): A little gem in Inverness! - Robert & Ruth were great hosts! A cute detached home with B&B and parking!! Good breakfast, craic (chatting), and helpful hospitality. Just the perfect walking distance to downtown. Loved it! Please stay, R&R, and host some more!!
- Mark (10/5): - Fantastic B&B. They have scaled back to only three guest rooms, making for easy parking (at the rear, off Argyle Terrace, with signage), and a very comfortable and quiet stay. HIGHLY recommended!
- Allen (10/5): - Wonderful hosts
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean, cozy, and close to city centre. - Rossmount is a charming little B&B. Easy walking distance to everywhere. The owners are friendly and funny. Great place to stay.

Rooms were great and property well located to city centre
- Edward (10/5): - The owners were incredibly personable and helpful. They made us feel at home! The room was bigger than we expected. Very clean and a homey feel. We would stay there again if ever in Inverness!! We highly recommend this B&B.
- Karl (10/5): - Great location! Robert and Ruth were great hosts. Breakfast was delicious. Wonderful stay.
- Clarence (10/5): Lovely couple and stay! - Robert and Ruth were welcoming and lovely from check in to check out. Their facility is beautifully decorated and clean. Our room faced the street with beautiful big windows. Robert gave us a tour of the room and all the spaces available to us. Convenient parking in the back-which is saying something on these narrow city streets with permit parking. They provide a lovely breakfast (per order) and coffee/tea kettle with some tasty treats in the room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Easy walking to all downtown sites/restaurants and shopping as well.
- Craig (10/5): - Robert and his wife were sweet and extremely helpful.
- sheryl (10/5): - The hosts, Ruth and Robert were so warm, friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and the breakfast served was wonderful. I have never stayed anywhere so immaculately clean as their guest house and highly recommended them.
- Nadja (10/5): Awesome stay - Great location and such a friendly host. Felt very spoilt and welcomed. Thank you to add a sparkle on our trip. Defently like to to come back again!
- Jean L (10/5): - Ruth and Robert were welcoming, friendly and very helpful with our questions about the area and Inverness. The room was lovely and clean. Lovely stay!
- Grant (10/5): - Great hosts, great location, we had a ball. Would definitely return if ever back in Inverness! 👍👍👍👍
- Sham (10/5): Excellent hosts and accommodation - Robert and Ruth(and Milo their dog) are amazing and very nice hosts. We enjoyed the 2 nights at the guest house very much.
Robert even offered to drop us off at the bus tour point as we had suitcases and it was a 15 min walk. That was incredibly nice of him.
Hotel room had all the amenities you would want.
- leandro (10/5): Best experience one can get - My stay at the Rossmount B&B couldn’t be any better. We were welcomed by the owners and runners of the hotel whom are the best and most caregiving people. The hotel is very well Located, only a 3’ drive to the center of Inverness which as a city, really surprised me for good.
The breakfast is from another level, they let you choose (not being excluding) within a range of meats, eggs, sides, apart from what they serve of fruits, coffee, yogurts, cereals, etc. I had the best Haggis in Scotland with no hesitation.
In summary, it’s a great place to stay, have a good rest and get to know the highlands.
- Michael (10/5): - The location is a short walk into the main area of Inverness. Robert was a great host and the breakfast options were very good. I would highly recommend this place for a stay in Inverness
- Emily (10/5): - Beautiful room far enough away from main street to be quiet, but close enough to walk.
Lovely hosts with adorable dog Milo.
Would definitely stay here again.
- Kristen (10/5): - Very kind and accommodating
- Mary (10/5): Wonderful spot in Inverness - Rose and Rob were wonderful hosts. The room was so comfy. We loved the location, so close to the downtown and to lovely walks, bur in a charming residential area. Breakfast was delicious, and Rob gave us excellent recommendations for dinner, both in Inverness and for our subsequent stop in Edinburgh. We hope to come back soon.
- Jean (10/5): - Ruth and Robert were great hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The house was immaculately clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. They also serve a very good breakfast. Excellent hosts all round.
- Lee J. (10/5): 2 nights in Inverness - Only superlatives for this B&B. From the friendliness of the owners, to the comfort of the beds ( best on our trip to date) and the excellent breakfast at the start of the day. Located an easy walk from the train or bus station,(be prepared, there are some steps to navigate) ....about 15 minutes. Nearby places to eat. Bonus of a very comfortable guest lounge...and a friendly little terrier. Highly recommended.
- Stacey (10/5): - Great location. Tasty breakfast. Friendly hosts!

- Yvonne M (10/5): - Great breakfast
- Susan (10/5): - We stayed at 8 lodgings during our 2 week Scotland trip, and each place was wonderful. Rossmount Guest House however, was our favorite. First class all the way. Impeccably clean. Robert and Ruth are kind, accommodating, and helpful!
- Robert (10/5): - Robert and Ruth, are very gracious hosts.
After a long day of travel, they personally greeted and welcomed us at their door. They went out of their way to accommodate us and gave us good tips on navigating Inverness.

- Ann (10/5): - Robert and Ruth made us feel very welcome in their home. Breakfast was superb with plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast was anazing.
Lots of different drinks in our very comfortable ensuite room.
Short walk from the high street, sights of Inverness and the beautiful Lochness Islands
- Richard (10/5): - Hosts were welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was excellent. Would highly recommend!
- Angela (10/5): - I am so glad we stayed at Rossmount B&B. I didn't see many pictures or anything so i wasn't sure. The owners were super nice, the room was a good size and had tall ceilings. The breakfast was super good. I would stay here again!

- Verified traveler (10/5): - When we arrived it was explained to me where to park the car at the back of the BnB. After looking at me all confused he rode with me to show me how to get back to their private parking space. The breakfast is excellent with the meal cooked to order. The fruit salad is very good and should not be missed. Cold cereal, yogurt with juices. The owners could not be more helpful and if back in Sterling we will definitely stay here
- Therese (10/5): - Everything was superb. The hosts were very friendly and made our stay very enjoyable. They also had great tips on places to visit. Location was easily accessible to the town and off street parking a bonus.
- Helen (10/5): - Robert and Ruth are fabulous hosts. Our room was immaculate and well furnished. We enjoyed the use of the charming lounge to read and enjoy a whiskey or two.We would highly recommend this B&B. It was most definitely the very best of this trip.
Mark and Marie Rogers
- Kara (10/5): Just delightful - Ruth and Robert are a delight. And their dog Milo is a sweetie. The breakfast is simple but she makes a great fried egg. Super convenient to the town center. Great shower and comfy beds. I would highly recommend staying here if you can
- Charles (10/5): - Ruth and Robert are fantastic hosts. Very friendly, informative and knowledgeable about Inverness and the surroundings. Our room was perfect with a very nice attached bath and an amazing shower. Wonderful breakfast options served by Robert who always had a smile and a joke to brighten the day. It is located in a quiet neighborhood but a 10 minute wash walk to the center of the city. Convenient to the train station and restaurants. Would definitely go back.

- Alex (10/5): - We were made very welcome the moment we arrived until we left. The room was lovely and airy. The breakfast was very tasty. With a great choice of food. Robert and Ruth were the perfect hosts.
- Robert (10/5): A fun bargain in Inverness - Very nice B&B. The rooms are a bit compact, but there is a spacious lounge (with wonderful books!) available to patrons. The host and hostess were marvelous to me, and fun to be with. Having just five rooms enabled guests to get to know one another at breakfast without violating one's privacy. Strongly recommended!
- Aaron (10/5): You have to stay here! - What an absolutely wonderful stay. Everything was top notch. I cannot stress enough how worth this spot is. Of all the places I stayed on my 8 ay trip, this one was the most memorable. I will be returning.
Starting from the first interaction with the host through the last moment, everything was great. The bed was super comfy, the candies/teas/coffee inside the room was nice touch, and the breakfast was very filling with a wide range of options (I was stuffed all day).
The free parking was also a nice touch, easy to get to, outdoor but secure. Also very close to all the restaurants/center of town.
You have to stay here!
- Kirsten (8/5): - Friendly, welcoming, helpful hosts. Only dislike was too soft beds. Substsntial and tasty breakfast.
- Douglas (10/5): - My husband and I really enjoyed our stay and the location was excellent for walking around Inverness.
- James (10/5): - The hosts are fun and attentive- a lovely place
- Cathy (10/5): - Warm welcome lovely andclean and fresh...bathroom very small
- Richard (10/5): - Very comfortable room. Good location to get into town and connect with transportation for tours. Host was very friendly and helpful when needed. Really enjoyed our stay there.
- Michael (10/5): Perfect Inverness Inn - This is a beautiful inn on a residential street in Inverness. Our room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was fantastic, our hosts warm, inviting, and knowledgeable about the local area. Parking was easy right behind the house (we went there directly rather than street parking in front). The Inn is a nice, easy walking distance to the old town, restaurants, and all. Very convenient. We hung out in the lounge one evening, which was very nice and a comfortable place to mix drinking wine and checking in on work emails.
- Cindy (10/5): - We had a delightful 4 night stay. We were treated like old friends. The room was very nice and the beds comfortable. I will be back!
- Vicky (10/5): - The hosts Robert & Ruth were absolutely amazing. Any silly question they just helped and were so willing to guide us and help us. Went the extra mile for us continually to make sure we were comfortable. I couldn’t recommend their customer service enough. Thank you.

Everything was absolutely perfect, from the very friendly owners to the beautiful room to great breakfasts to the location.
Cutest dog Milo was a big plus!!!
- Gary (10/5): Lovely stay - Had a lovely stay. Couple very welcoming and helpful, giving ideas to people for days out etc. everything you require and nice touches with sweets etc. nice central location, very clean and yummy breakfast. Would not hesitate to stay again. Lovely to meet Milo the dog also
- Scott (10/5): - Great place to stay off street parking friendly hosts and just 5min walk to town centre 👍
- David (10/5): A great place to stay! - It was a joy to stay at the Rossmount with Ruth and Robert. They were informative, a pleasure to talk with, and made us feel at home. The breakfast was great in that it had both meat and vegan options, along with homemade muesli. The B and B is a short walk to good food and central Inverness. Milo is a great host too.
- Carrie (10/5): - We stayed here for a few days at the beginning of a two week trip, and Ruth and Robert were so lovely! They were incredibly accommodating, ensuring we had room for my MIL for our final night in Inverness, a joy to converse with, and Robert even took us to the train station on our final day. Breakfast was wonderful, with lots of options. If we ever make it back to Inverness (and I hope we will), this is where we would stay again (if they aren't still horrified by my partner's weird eating habits, which frankly, I couldn't blame them lol).
- Jean (10/5): - Very friendly with welcoming hosts. Very good room facilities for a B&B. Excellent choice at breakfast, freshly cooked to order. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely Place, Could be More Accommodating - We had a lovely stay at Rossmount Guest House overall! The proprietors were very friendly and let us drop our luggage off early on the day we arrived. The one area of improvement is that they say on the listing they will accommodate an earlier breakfast time— we had asked if we could eat a hot breakfast 30 minutes early due to a tour in the morning, and were told that was too much for them to accommodate (25 minutes was the most they could do).
If a place lists they can accommodate an earlier time, but there are limits on the time, that should be mentioned in the listing. As well, they need a phone number that they answer all the time, as we had no way to get in touch with them if they weren’t at the guest house.
Those are the two main areas of feedback. Beyond that, lovely place, kind hosts, and comfortable accommodations.
- Sarah (10/5): - Lovely property in a quiet part of town but within walking distance of local attractions. The owner thoughtfully changed our room to the ground floor as he recognized my elderly mother was struggling with hills and stairs. Super comfortable bed. Easy breakfast. No complaints!
- richard (10/5): - Remarkably friendly and accommodating hosts. Everything was perfect.
- Maurice (10/5): Gem in Inverness - Fantastic guesthouse. Great friendly hosts, smashing breakfast. Ideally located in a central area but in a nice quiet street.
Would highly recommend and will use again.
- Carol (10/5): - Owners very friendly and helpful. Breakfast superb. Meals at recommended restaurants were great. A very enjoyable stay, thanks x
- Manuel (10/5): - The B&B is in a nice neighbourhood, 5-10 minute walk to all the Shops and Restaurants.
The hosts are really friendly and helpful. You can feel that they love what they are doing.
They have a dedicated parking spot behind the house and also offer permits to park in the street.
Full english or international breakfasts are available.
We really enjoyed our stay!
- truong (8/5): - very good and nice guest house
- John (10/5): - Rooms and areas were very nice and the hosts were terrific.
- Ashley (10/5): - Absolutely loved staying here! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
- Stephanie (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay. Robert, Ruth and Milo were all wonderful and very welcoming. The property was in such a convenient area. Very close to everything. We had wonderful cinversation with Robert each day and met some great folks during breakfast as well. Breakfast was delicious! I had the Haggis both mornings believe it or not. Rooms were a perfect size including bathroom. The area was very quiet and layed back. If coming to Inverness, consider staying here.
- Geoff (10/5): Great B&B - Great hosts very helpful, nothing too much trouble
- Robin (10/5): - Lovely B&B , Ruth and Robert are a lovely couple. Very friendly. Great breakfast.
- Susan L (10/5): - The Rossmount B & B was a lovely guesthouse. Our hosts, Ruth & Robert, were most gracious. Accommodations and food were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Residential neighborhood gem - A pleasant stay in a pleasant room with pleasant hosts and pleasant breakfasts.
- Ashley (10/5): - My friend and I had a wonderful 2 night stay here. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. The included breakfast was delicious and well prepared. We left each morning well rested with full stomachs for our adventures. They are located close to the heart of Inverness and walking around to explore was easy. Robert and Ruth were very pleasant and kind hosts. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a stay in Inverness! Bonus, they have a sweet little pup named Milo who loves back scratches. 💗☺️
- Hilary (10/5): Weekend Break - Great stay in this very friendly Guest House with two great hosts. Very clean and lovely breakfasts each morning. Short walk into the centre and very handy for shops, pubs and restaurants.
- Christopher (10/5): Great low-key B&B - Rossmount was exactly what I was looking for, and they exceeded expectations. The room was private, quiet and comfortable, parking was convenient, and the hosts Robert and Ruth were both very gracious and NOT overbearing either. They are the perfect balance of giving you the care you hope for from a bed and breakfast, while also not being intrusive. They even acted as my emergency contact as I went on a couple solo hikes in the highlands while I was there, which was greatly appreciated. The full breakfast was delicious, one of the best I had in Scotland frankly. I would definitely stay with them again.
- Libby (10/5): Great B&B - This was a great place for our 2-night stay in Inverness. Proprietors Robert and Ruth and their adorable dog Milo are friendly and welcoming. The home is historic and well-maintained, and is in a nice neighborhood within easy walking distance of a main shopping/dining area. The included breakfast was very good, with enough options to please everyone. The on-site parking is a great bonus because street parking is very tight in the area.
