- Sund (7/5): - Kylen fungerade inte
- Marianne (10/5): - Alles Niets
- Mattias (9/5): - Nära backen, flexibel tid för frukost 05:50
- Helena (9/5): Tarkoitukseeni juuri hyvä. - Paikka mukava, rauhallinen ja lapsiperheille sopiva. Ruokatarjontaan ja sen laatuun tarvitaan panostusta. Laatu ja hinta eivät kohdanneet.
- Merja (6/5): - Näkymä huoneesta rinteisiin oli hieno. Huoneessa ja etenkin kuntosalissa oli liian lämmin. Aamupala oli pettymys puitteisiin nähden.
- Michael (8/5): -
- Ulla (9/5): -
Poistuimme sivuovesta. Nälkä jäi.
- Satu (7/5): - Rauhallinen sijainti, hiljainen hotelli. Henkilökunta ystävällistä. Ilmastointi puuttui, huoneessa kesähelteillä todella lämmin. Huoneen siisteydessä on toivomisen varaa, esimerkiksi ikkunat likaiset.
Rauhallinen sijainti.
- Riikka (9/5): - Tilava huone, hyvä sänky, hiljaisuus, hieno maisema, ystävällinen henkilökunta. Jääkaappi olisi ollut kiva.

- Xlars (10/5): Beautiful!!! - 2nd time here and it's very good. Friendley perwonal and a realy beautiful hotel and facilities
- Elisa (8/5): Nice stay! - Nice location and cottage, really quite and peaceful. It's great that cross-country ski equipment is included. The sofa was a bit dirty, and the tablecloth was damaged.
The restaurant is expensive, but the food isn’t very good.
- Xlars (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful surrounding, good facilities, friendly personal and realy clean en nice rooms.
- Andzela (10/5): Amazing chalet - We stayed in chalet, and everything was perfect. All you need is there, sauna amazing, fireplace good, we love there. One of the bedrooms was cold, no heating.
- M941EOnicolaj (10/5): Fabulous location - Bar, restaurant and view amazing. We all loved the ski slopes. Friendly staff and lovely food. Manager came to meet us at the table gave kids free ice cream, locals were friendly. We’ve booked again for next year! The lunch buffet was nice and good value. Drinks expensive but that’s same over all of Finland!
- Manish (9/5): Very good - Scenery, ski slopes, location, staff Too far from Rovaniemi, lack of supermarket in the area, or ability to buy basic supplies for the chalet. Also it's absolutely crazy that we had to pay for towels and bed linen. Surely a hotel of this size should supply these automatically or worst case include by increasingel the daily rate.
- Neil (7/5): Could so easily and cheaply be improved - The rooms are large with comfortable beds, the evening meal was very good and it was well priced for the location. For skiing it is perfect! The ski lifts actually go from the hotel basement. The rooms are large with comfortable beds but they let themselves down on the details. For the price you could provide more than 2 teabags and put cups slightly larger than thimbles in the room. Also, I should need a degree in electronics to work out the ridiculous combination of switches. All I wanted was to read with a bedside lamp on but that didn’t seem to be an option. Every combination ended turning on all of them again. It was crazily frustrating.
The biggest problem for me was the cold breakfast items. I got there when it opened and they dished up cold beans, cold scrambled eggs and cold hash browns. When I mentioned it they said it was how they always served it.
Talking about cold, we were looking forward to a swim and it was freezing. I was NOT impressed that a member of the hotel staff physically dragged one of my children in the pool. That was unacceptable.
I still rate it high as there may be culture differences, no real harm done and the evening meal was very good and it was well priced for the location. For skiing it is perfect! The ski lifts actually go from the hotel basement.
- SariS570 (8/5): Christmas holiday - Hotel in Finland that has only english/frech/chinese/portugal speaking staf.. Visit was short and different than normally in Finland.
Staff most friendly and hotel small but very nice.
View is amazing! Recommed in winter and summer too
- Suvi (8/5): - Upeat uudet ja siistit tilat. Hiljaista oli, mikä sopi meille loistavasti. Huone siisti.
- Marko (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect! Very nice hosts and staff!
- Yanina (8/5): Very good -
- Teemu (8/5): Great place for a family - Plenty of space, peaceful neighbourhood, Furniture a bit worn, kitchen equipment would need some refreshing.
- Soili (7/5): Worn but great location - Location and quietness. Pool was +20 Celsius so very cold.
Cabin was pretty worn: marks on the walls, floor and mattresses. Curtains not working.
Loud music in the reception, staff rarely present and not speaking Finnish.at all.
- Sven (9/5): Superb -
- Santa (10/5): Exceptional - Nice hotel very spacious rooms No milk for coffee in rooms
- Deniz (6/5): Pleasant -
- Keren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clare (10/5): Wonderful stay would visit again - We stayed in a chalet - lots of space well equipped warm and cosy, staff excellent Pool freezing but I know this is standard in Finland
- Kadri (9/5): We really enjoyed being there - Clean, friendly staff, skiing Cold floors, rooms and food was cold most of the time. Christmas dinner was pretty bad experience because every single item was cold and it was quite expensive
- Lina (7/5): Good - Beautiful place surrounded by nature. Cozy, clean and spacious chalets. Good value for money. In one chalet, the hot water disappeared in the morning. The heat regulators are sealed, so it is not possible to adjust the temperature. No parking space for a bus closer to chalets, parking is quite far away. Not a nice surprise, that you have to take bed linen and towels from reception, carry it to chalets and then carry it back.
- Cypy (5/5): Nice place with huge potential but management is very bad, maintenance of the place is almost 0 - Nice location during the winter probably is one of the best places to be. Be aware that Rovaniemi is 1,5h driving far away. Maintenance of the whole place is almost 0 , a lot of stuff are broken in the chalets , the place is dirty. We had not enough wood to heat and the centralised heating was not working really good and cannot be adjusted manually. We asked several times for more wood as we had a small baby with us and the temperatures were -40 and they were bringing always only wood for one more day only ( we stayed 7 ) .
There is an extra tax for the towels and bed linen and you need to clean yourself the place.
- Nina (10/5): Warm recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy scenic winter without queue in ski lanes, very affordable and exquisitily an - Beautiful location for restful moments with family, view of the snowy white slopes, extraordinary equipped gym! We did not use the swimming pool and sauna but it is also available. Great excursions (ice fishing, raindeer sleigh ride, snowmobile), all well organized and even when one bus was too cold they immediately organized a car to pick us up! Excellent food and very friendly staff! Nothing, all was fantastic!!
- Michael (3/5): Definitely seen better days. - A place that has so much potential with stunning location, amazing slopes but falls short in so many ways. The lock on the door is unsuitable and not fitted correctly, making it near impossible to open without a fight. They’ve used a standard interior hotel door lock on an exterior door in the artic! see photos of frozen door lock.
The heating is not suitable for the house. the underfloor heating does not heat the house correctly with no heating up in the loft area where the children traditionally sleep. every window/patio door had a draught coming through with even ice coming through the patio doors.
You can’t use the lodge sauna without the heating turning off. Bearing in mind the cabin was already cold! The thought of then turning off the heating to allow the sauna to heat use the sauna for 2-3 hours (you’ve got to allow it to heat first) was not feasible with young children. So a feature we were looking forward to we were unable to use.
The fire door doesn’t close properly - so again unable to use to help heat the property as you can see smoke escaping.
The lodge originally didn’t have a fire/carbon monoxide alarm fitted. When we raised this to the staff they said they were too busy to sort/the earliest they will be able to sort it would be when we checked out. When we pushed stating it’s not compliant and we will escalate they magically got someone out to fit one within 30 minutes!
The swimming pool which was the main reason we booked this property so to give the kids some downtime after skiing for the week was freezing cold! So they were unable to swim in it. Everyone commented on how cold it was.
During our stay the temperature dropped to -35c (Not the hotels fault) however when our car would not start due to the sub freezing temperatures, they wouldn’t help with a jump cable and claimed they didn’t have one. resulting us in being housebound majority of the day waiting for recovery. We found out the next day that the hotel do actually have one to help guests. But just didn’t want to help!
- Andris (10/5): Great value for money! Recommend! - There was sauna and the cottage was nice with fireplace and all was good. Very helpful staff despite it was Christmas Eve! Some small interior, heating challenges what was quickly solved by stuff! Thank You!
- Jerricia (7/5): Good -
- Lee (7/5): Little gem - I loved the fact we had our own lodge in the middle of nowhere. Great fun sledging down to the hotel and all around.
Also loved the ease of the ski hire shop on site. So friendly and helpful.
We choose this hotel as it was a little further out and it was fantastic. We didn't like being charged £££s for a Christmas dinner that wasn't a Christmas dinner. It was a buffet that didn't really have much choice. Nothing for our 5 year old really and no pudding at all. This is the only real negative we have about the whole place. Ow and the swimming pool only opened at 4 pm because of this we didn't get to use it.
- Dmitri (1/5): Bad - Breakfast was good 1. It was cold in the room. Room temperature was <=20C, when I asked hotel personal for a help with this problem. They said that it is normal due to „low“temperature outside, at that moment it was only -5C. There was no any room temperature Control, so we could not regulate that.
2. For solving problem described above we were given small portable heater. Which is supposed to work on legs or preinstalled to the wall, otherwise it overheats and stops working. Unfortunately, there was no any legs and staff could not find them.
3. There was cold air blowing from windows in the room, as well as in the restaurant. In addition, one bed was located near the windows and person, who was sleeping there complained about pain in the neck next day.
4. In the 4th floor corridor temperature was also bellow 20C and radiators were cold.
5. Some areas in the room had serious marks from use before. Bed tables had white marks from hot drinks.
6. There was place for the lightning in the Center of the room, but lamp was missing, so 3 switches on the wall was not working.
7. WIFI speed and strength was awfully bad. Screenshot from Speedtest made being connected to hotel WIFI is attached to this letter. In my opinion speed does not allow any good experience while using the Internet.
8. Personal has problems with understanding English language and asked me to repeat many times, what I have said.
- Wander41514343906 (10/5): Excellent hotel, much better than previous reviews suggest! - We were a bit worried by the reviews for this hotel when we read them after seeing it would be our base for our family trip to Lapland, we needn’t have been.
The hotel itself is beautiful, overlooking fantastic floodlit slopes at the ski resort.
The bar and restaurant area was lovely and the food was excellent! A bit of something for everyone from kids options, to nice adult options (pork in a creamy mushroom sauce, beef stew, meatballs etc) and the odd local dish like pickled fish which was delicious!
Service was excellent and the staff were nothing but friendly.
Enjoyed the Sauna and gym. Pool a bit chilly, probably best used as a plunge pool in between saunas rather than an activity for kids.
The rooms were modern and really well done. They even had drying cabinets for all your wet clothes at the end of the day.
Would come here on a ski holiday it was so good!
- Pat (6/5): Pleasant - a couple of weeks before our holiday, we were told that the hotel was closed for renovation. We were offered a self catering chalet instead. We accepted the chalet and it was very nice. And the location (not far from a bear watching trip) However, it was not the bed and breakfast accommodation with restaurant, bar and a swimming pool that we'd hoped for.
- Perttu (10/5): Exceptional - One of the hidden gems in Lapland. Beautiful, spacious rooms with a view on the slopes. The rooms are excellent for filming an intro for your Lapland tour.
- Vilma (9/5): Superb -
- Marta (9/5): we all (with our dog) recommend this place :) - Great place to spend winter (and probably summer) holidays :) nice staff , comfortable house with a chimney and own sauna, a lot of snow and beautiful aurora (not included ;)), very tasty local dishes in the restaurant - I definitely would like to come back. -
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional - Hidden gem. Great ski tracks and slopes with very little people.
- Väisänen (8/5): yeah - view bed is bad
- Jana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mehmet (8/5): Very good - Hotel staff is very very helpful. Hotel location is very good for Lapland outdoor attractions such as husky sledging, rein deer farm visit, snow mobile tours and skiing.
Staying in chalet was a good experience. We enjoyed the fireplace and sauna. We enjoyed silence of the nature around us and amazing scenery of chalet in the forest.
Extra tours we purchased were amazing. Kids loved them and they will always remember the experience.
Hotel staff is very helpful and they stepped in immediately when we had a heating issue once. Hotel restaurant menu is poor and overpriced. Make sure you have your own food if you stay in chalets. FYI: Nearest shop is around 30-40 min drive.
Main missing item is the level of information hotel is sharing regarding extra tours. We were not informed on availability of special clothing from hotel for the weather conditions. Hotel gives special clothing but will not inform you that you are entitled to this. We were not informed that husky tour and snow mobile requires guests to drive. This was a big surprise. Be careful when you are traveling with kids or elderly.
We were not informed on the distance/location of the tours from the hotel. One morning we were in a bus and it takes 1.5 hours to next tour location and no one shares any info about this.
I believe hotel can improve the level of guidance and information of the extra tours they sell to guests. We had practically zero information and we experienced all on the go. Nothing went wrong and we had super fun but some pe-info on tours would help to avoid any disappointment and to be better prepared.
The other most critical point: You must have a rental car (or your own car) if you stay in the chalets. You will be miserable if you dont have a car because chalets are 1.5km away from main building and you cant walk at -20 Celcius with kids.
Also something strange is that you must carry clean towels and linen from reception to your chalet when you check-in, you must put them into beds yourself and you must pay extra for cleaning of the room at your check-out.
This is very unusual but all documented in the reservation documents. So pay attention to avoid any surprises.
- Aleksandra (10/5): Would not mind to come back - Helpfulness of the staff, beautiful scenery, flexibility of staff, family atmosphere.
I liked that the hotel was not a huge chain building but friendly, family owned business. Everything was very good. The kitchen was not to the highest standards but staff seem to be happy to hear my comments. Buffet was very good and staff even asked everyone whether they are ready as the food will be hidden in a few minutes.
- Deborah (4/5): Disappointing - the view we booked inkl. dinner but we never got that, so we needed to eat and pay for dinner ourself. very expensiv. breakfast was a very small buffet.
- Craig (10/5): Beautiful scenery and the friendliest staff you will ever meet - Amazing staff, beautiful scenery and excellent facilities Food and drink a little expensive, but generally great quality
- Pasi (8/5): - Ok
- juulin2022 (2/5): Terrible Service - Could be the best resort in Lapland BUT the level of service and facilities is six feet below average bad.
Slopes are best in Finland but i do not recommend the hotel nor the cafe in the hotel.
The food at the cafe was sold out several times. The restaurant is lacking personel. Overall terrbile and bad managed.
- Anna (10/5): - Ihana huone rinnemaisemin.
Kaikenkaikkiaan loistava kokonaisuus.
- EesTaas (6/5): Could be the best ski hotel in Finland - Modern hotel in front of the best slopes in Finland. This could be the best ski hotel in Finland. Staff seems to try hard during these difficult times but some things are a bit wrong.
Rooms are nice and spacious with great views. Big bathroom. Some could say rooms are even luxurious. Small table, fridge and bigger sofa would be nice
Some things in the room and hotel were broken. Why not fix them and make the hotel look better.
Room was not cleaned daily. Just let customers know this while in check in.
Breakfast was with very limited offerings. No orange juice every day, not good bread etc. Far from what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Gala dinner was good. Otherwise the menu was a limited bar menu.
Website is not updated and lacks a lot of information about the restaurant and the resort offerings.
Swimming pool is really cold.
I heard some improvements had beed done to slopes. Thanx for that.
Despite some negative experiences I hope to come back some day.
- totemo75 (6/5): Great facilities, service poor - Great hotel and facilities, but inadequate service level shocks you.
For the 200€ per night in December peak time one would expect basic services like daily cleaning of hotel rooms. Reception apologized but said they have staff to only clean rooms maybe every 3rd day. Really, for 200€ per night? I asked to get the room cleaned on day two, but no one had come by end of day. Need to go ask for clean towels myself. In a hostel this might be ok, but not in even an average grade hotel...
I still love the location and the hotel facilities. But cannot recommend for this price.
- TripMember12102014 (10/5): Excellent hotel and facility on the pist - Nice hotel with a Beautiful room for two with ensuites including kettle tea and coffee making facility. A lift facility and very friendly helpful staff. The hotel pool and sauna facility included was first class. Be advised if you do not have transport you should book all inclusive as no other restaurants are near.this is in the countryside forests and lakes. A quiet retreat with a good selection of runs through all are on T bar lifts. Recommended for the serious skier.
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Emunro71 (10/5): Family skiing holiday - I stayed in a chalet with my two children. It was very comfortable with all the modern conveniences of home.
Fully fitted kitchen,
WIFI,
Flat screen tv,
Drying Cupboard,
Wetroom bathroom,
Sauna,
Two double bedrooms with fitted wardrobes downstairs,
One double bed and two single beds, sink and toilet upstairs.
The sauna was easy to use but for extra help there is a manual explaining how to use all the appliances in cabin found in the sitting room.
If you wish to use the wood burner I suggest you bring firelighters and matches / lighter, these were not provided.
To note, there are no shops locally so either pack what supplies you might like in your case or stop at a supermarket near the airport and stock up on what's needed.
The shuttle bus, this picked us up every morning at 9:00am prompt for breakfast and took us back in the evening 7:00 pm after dinner. The meals were eaten at the hotel in the restaurant as we were half board
It is possible to walk to the cabin, but its a good 15 - 20 mins.
I praise the hotel and restaurant staff highly - nothing was too much trouble.
Unfortunately my son became poorly with flu while on holiday. The staff did everything they could to make sure he had some fun and that he was comfortable when feeling too poorly to leave the cabin.
It was simple things like packing up an evening meal to take back to the cabin for him, arranging a ski mobile ride to cheer him up and loaning ski gloves for the week when mine decided to fall apart that really made an impression.
I was sad to leave which is a sure indication that we all had a fantastic holiday.
Thank you all!

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet hotel, great location, good breakfast, very comfortable well equipped room
- AtouristfromFinland (10/5): Lovely Suomu chalets - We stayed in one of the Suomu Chalets 1,3 km away from the slopes. The house was surprisingly good, new and stylish, warm and comfortable. Nothing to complain about.
Two bedrooms with double beds downstairs and two more beds and a toilet upstairs.
There were a kitchen with containers, dishmachine, sauna, washingmachine, fireplace,tv, soap, shampoo etc.
The free wifi was good.
There were also a very nice new and fresh spa (a swimming pool and saunas) in the hotel.
We made our breakfast and dinners mainly ourselves, but there is a restaurant in the hotel too. It might be a good idea to bring some food for the first day if staying in chalets and breakfast in the hotel was not included.
- Deetee100 (4/5): The rooms are nice, nothing else is - This is a ski resort on the Arctic Circle, very remote and very niche. We chose it for its remoteness and natural beauty (which nobody could dispute), but didn’t realise that the arctic cold would extend indoors to the staff. They were largely unwelcoming, standoffish and barely helpful. There is nothing else here except the hotel, so the prices for all extras (anything other than breakfast) are nothing short of extortionate. If you go there, take supplies! The nearest supermarket is 15km away and that only carries the bare minimum of products.
- ogonzale3008 (2/5): They have destroyed magic Christmas trip - We haven't a response to this complaint letter yet.
Our experience there was dramatic for our children and destroyed our dreams in Christmas, travelling to Lapand to see Saint Claus... But we found that...
- Verified traveler (8/5): Siisti perushotelli - Siisti, perushotelli. Olisi ollut kiva tietää ettei saunatiloja ole. Aamiainen oli Ok, muutoin ruuan laatuun kannattaisi panostaa. Ehdoton vahvuus on henkilökunnan ystävällisyys ja keskeinen sijainti.
- Sebastian (8/5): Aamupala - Aamupala heikko
- Joel (8/5): Nice hotel near hillside of Suomutunturi - Enjoyed my stay at Hotel Suomutunturi. The location was perfect as I was travelling on business. My room was very clean, comfortable and spacious.
I would easily recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Suomutunturi.
- anniesaj (8/5): Great hideaway !! - If you are happen to have a car then choose the chalet !! Of course everything is not a walking distance like in the city. We are looking for something like this so we really enjoyed it to drive around with a thick snow on the road.
We spent a week there and it was amazing!! It has 2 bedroom downstairs and another communal bedroom upstairs. It has one big shower room with sauna and washing machine, dryer, fully equipped big kitchen, and a fireplace plus a room full of dry woods.
On the first day we don´t really know how to operate the sauna, we called the hotel and somebody came almost immediately and explained it. We really love the sauna and used it everyday !! It was so quiet & peacefull. We came to the restaurant at the main building to have dinner and it was not dissapointing, try the elk burger!!
The breakfast was ok as we came there almost everything already empty. So we decided just to buy groceries (the nearest around 30 mins) and had breakfast ourselves.
We asked if we can have a late checkout and they let us stay without any charge, which was so nice as we have 2 babies.
We are planning to come back again to Lapland and this chalet are just too awesome to be missed.
