• Andrew (8/5): - I was dropped off but it was difficult to navigate to the front desk unless you're dropped off in front of the main entrance. The facility was definitely dated, and there were a few broken/non-functional items in the room. For example, my TV was not connected (as in the wires were spliced and dangling) and the beside lamp lights did not work. There's also considerable noise from the street even though I was staying on the 7th floor, highlighting a lack of sound proofing in the room. The security made me feel safe. However I was told by my local friend that I should not go west of the hotel because that area is sketchy. The main street is very walkable and very safe.
• Charlean (6/5): Be careful - Everything was ok the hotel was in a great area the staff was great but unfortunately the front desk Manager tried to pull a fast one on us by saying we are not allowed to sleep in the same bed as 3 people we need 3 beds so he had an extra bed put in the room we never asked for nor were we informed that there was an extra cost, which we found out at check out and strangely we could only pay cash because the night before that rule was changed. Yeah ok we know it was a lie and he wanted to pocked the extra money. We refused to comply and pay cash and i said to stop this nonsense i'm willing to pay one night for the extra bed on credit card but not every night. And all of a sudden the credit card machine came out and worked fine. That was not cool, please be aware!!!
• amar (8/5): 4 days stay @ Hotel Eliana - It’s a nice hotel comfortable beds, clean linen, friendly staff at your service right from front desk manager to F&B manager to GM. The airport pickup was a breeze. Very comfortable stay at this hotel with excellent views. WiFi was hassle free, warm water in bathroom available, kettle with enough tea bags always available. Suggestions - the Bathroom fitting and fixtures can be upgraded.

• Yohannes (4/5): Such a Disappointing Experince - I was very disappointed with what I was able to witness. First of all the Room is very outdated and looks like it is forgotten. Shower was not adequate and very much outdated. For the price one pays, the level of everything was very much disaapointing. There was no Kettle In the room to make Tea while having tea cups, some of the lights dis not work. I booked few rooms for few diffeent family members and in each room there was something wrong. When We come to the Breakfast Once Again Very Much Disappointing. It says Breakfast Buffet and yet the lack of choices makes you wonder why they calling it a Buffet. Honestly I don't think I will ever book here. I Wish I could ask my money back for not able to deliver what I was hoping to get.
• Thomas (6/5): - Staff was very nice. Room clean and comfortable but exposed to quite a bit of street noise (even on 7th floor). Good central location. Most of the time only barebone breakfast, always the same dry cake. Rice and omelette were the choice on many days. I ordered dinner once with a friend and waited almost 45 minutes while no other guests were there. Front desk personnel made me pay additional ETB 150 000 at check out despite the reservation having been paid to Expedia already. They could not explain why I had to pay more, but I was in a hurry to make it to the airport so did not argue, with the plan to settle issue later. I had reserved and paid for 2 beds in the room but only got one bed (which was sufficient). Also, was told by evening staff that checkout time would be 2 pm, and then (after I had made plans) was told it would be 12 pm. I had lodged at Eliana previously with a much better experience. Not sure if I want to come back. Just to repeat : Staff was friendly and generally very helpful except for at check out.

• Hailu (8/5): - The property is ideally located in the prime area of the piazza neighborhood with easy access to transport and amenities. Staff are extremely friendly, helpful and ready to meet your needs at any cost. The hotel room and all accessible areas are spotlessly clean. Buffet style breakfast is provided at a cost with an option to order from a menu. The food is decent with a fairly reasonable price but it is not first rate. They used to have rooftop bar and restaurant but was unfortunately unavailable for unknown reasons during my stay. Plus, one out of the two elevators was out of service all the time and was a cause for some inefficiencies in several respects. Overall, it is a fabulous hotel and I'd certainly recommend it to others but the hotel must also improve its efficiency to provide services that match its status as a world class hotel.

• Mary (8/5): - The hotel is located in a key area which is more attractive for visitors. All Staff are very polite and helpful. The breakfast is beautiful has a lot of options, rooms are clean and the small touch of dressing gowns and slippers are excellent. What my family and I would comment on for improvements are the fixtures need to be checked and fixed eg the light in our room was flickering and we had to unplug the whole thing, the shower in one of the rooms did not have the hot water working and when it did work it had no power at all, the towels need changing (they are clean but very old). Apart from that the hotel and staff are excellent.
• Alex (6/5): - This hotel has clearly seen better days, despite how it presents itself online. There seemed to be a lot of things lacking in upkeep or repair. A prime example is when I was inadvertently locked out on the balcony of my room for several minutes because the door handle broke off. The staff were overall friendly and accommodating, but there seemed to be a lack of communication from the beginning of my stay, and things falling through the cracks. Myself and several others did not have towels when checking in, or were not replaced after the dirty ones were taken. The airport shuttle is nice, but took almost an hour for it to pick me up at Bole, despite advance arrangements. Upon arrival it was not communicated to me where the bar or restauraunt(s) were, when they were open, when breakfast was available, where the pool was, etc. I had to figure this out on my own, and even then communication was severely lacking. For instance, I went up to the beautiful top-floor bar, but there were no staff around! After I was told were to find the restaurant and assured that it was open, the staff informed me that I could not be served because they were turning over the place, and not given any indication about where and when I could get food. The location of the breakfast buffet was changed on a day to day basis, was frequently out of coffee. The food quality was overall just okay. Despite all of this, the staff were friendly and helpful when pressed, the showers hot, and the bed comfy.

• James (4/5): - Everything in this hotel seems to be broken down. From light switches to bulbs. My room had very little lighting. They tried to charge me $20 because I arrived early on the checking date and was allowed on the house. Nobody communicated this the extra charge when I was being allowed into the room.
• CARLO (10/5): - I was a guest of the hotel for two weeks, I liked it and I will return. The staff are very kind and helpful even if they should be trained and educated better, but everyone is still very kind and polite... by improving they could do much better and earn more money. Unfortunately, the Piassa neighborhood is a disastrous construction site, they have destroyed all the tradition of the neighborhood to build horrible buildings that will never be inhabited or finished (Addis is full of skeletons of buildings that have never been finished for years!) The hotel is very central and well protected at the entrance. The food is good.

Hotellet hade "karaktär"- trasiga rumsdörrar (fick byta rum), handtag som lossnade, inga drinkar i baren, knirrande golv, trasiga lampor i korridorer, inga pappersnäsdukar på rummet, inga extra dassrullar. Dock inget som påverkade helheten utan mer "det här är Addis". ett bra och rent hotell med bra sängar. Frukostbuffen helt ok. Försök få utsikt mot Churchill Road (rum x04-x09).

Only area for improvement would be the availability of a snack/bar food in the lobby area. Internet in my room was not as consistent as internet in lobby and many people were working in the lobby. Many other hotels in Addis offer a bar snack menu whereas Eliana doesn’t and this would be an improvement

Power was on and off, and resulted in having to climb stairs regularly since being in elevators was not comfortable. However, fundamental room, internet and service was fine.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel that could be a great one - The hotel is in a central location. The staff are helpful an friendly and the restaurant serves good food at a reasonable price. The rooms are quite spacious, clean and comfortable. On the downside, the food soon runs out at breakfast and is not replenished (although breakfast is served until 1000am, there's virtually nothing left after 0830). The rooms also lack maintenance (with some light switches not working, etc.). While the wifi works, it tends to be temperamental, although this is not unusual in Ethiopia. Overall, if the management could sort out the niggling problems, this good hotel could become a great one. I will be happy to return there.
• Cécile (8/5): Eliana Hotel à Addis, près de Piazza. - Tout est bien, voire très bien, le personnel de la réception est accueillant et la chambre est d'un standing appréciable pour un prix cohérent au regard des prestations. Le seul bémol serait le petit-déjeuner.

Situated near the top of Churchill Avenue, adjacent to a modern shopping mall with quality shops and two good coffee shops. Close to the old city centre (Piassa / Piazza). On a noisy crossroads but this gives an ever-changing view of city life. Double glazing would improve rooms facing the crossroads to make them less noisy. Restaurant serves unremarkable food and the variety is often limited. Restaurant staff friendly and helpful but need better training. Reception staff and managers were caring and attentive.

• Christophe (6/5): Hôtel bien situé - Proche des sites les plus intéressants pour les touristes (souvenirs, marché, cuir). De tous les hôtels fréquentés lors de notre voyage, celui-ci est pas trop mal. Le seul problème (et c'est récurrent en Ethiopie) c'est l'absence d'eau chaude. Là encore, à 60 Euros la nuit, il n'y a que de l'eau très très tiède (mais chaude pour les Ethiopiens...). Le personnel est sympa, la chambre propre mais pas exceptionnelle. A côté de l'hôtel il y a une pâtisserie et la boutique Tomoca pour le café.
• Lia (8/5): Zorg voor dubbele beglazing - Was er om mijn Sponsorkind te bezoeken en Kerst te vieren. Het hotel ligt langs een 8 baans weg en de hele nacht herrie. Vond het er ook koud, nergens een plekje om in de zon te zitten. Douch elke dag koud tot lauw. Ontbijt erg eenzijdig .

• Verified traveler (6/5): - Friendly stuff, but as usual in Africa things don’t get repaired and the hotel has - at only two years age - broken stuff everywhere. Still one of the better options compared to other accomodations in Addis. Location is at busy intersection with lots of traffic.
• Dave (10/5): Very well-run, comfortable hotel, excellent staff - Staff were extremely professional, friendly and helpful. The hotel helped us extensively: changed room (first one was a little loud due to proximity to main road), organised taxi, let me use phone for business call, converted currency, delivered food to room. Security on the door. Free shuttle. Very clean, spacious and quiet room. Great shower (best we had in Ethiopia). Good views of city (although the new room had construction work blocking views - didn't mind this). Wifi very strong. Very central location but not massive amount for tourists in immediate vicinity. Piazza is 5-10 minute walk. St George and Holy Trinity churches 20 minute walk. Mercato 20 minute walk. Overall would highly recommend.
• Sheila (8/5): First Time Stay - It was a very clean hotel in the center of Addis. The staff were pleasant but need someone who can communicate properly working at the front desk. We called 24hrs before arrival to book for airport pick up and the lady at the front desk didn't not speak or understand English. So we didn't manage to get airport pick up. Upon arrival I inquired why this happened and finally someone who spoke English let us know that the vehicles were being serviced and that was the reason we did not get picked up. They were nice enough to give us a trip to the airport inbetween our stay as we were going to Lalibela for the night. So that made up for that. Other than that it is a nice place to stay, I would recommend it.
• Ron (2/5): Management - Sent a shuttle request to the hotel 27 August 2016 requesting pickup.  No shuttle was sent due to email not being checked.  However received an email two days after checking stating that they had not received the expedia reservations.  What is surprising they had my information and room keys already available.   Staff is friendly. Family suite had several issues which I had to bring maintenance up daily for all the three days I was there. Outside door opening to the balcony had no handle to open from the outside. I was locked out.  The only way I got back in is the door for the balcony from the bedroom did not lock.  The key was in the door and it would not lock.  They took the handle from another suite and put it on mine. Sink leaked water inside the cupboard.   Maintenance fixed it once on Monday.  Than came back on Tuesday after I called them to fix again.   I told the guest services rep there is no hot water in the sink he said just use the kettle to boil the water its the same thing.  Bathroom sinks -  no hot water.  Bathroom Shower has major water leaks.  Called and they came with housekeeping and cleaned the water. Every day I took a shower had a big puddle of water on the floor. Restaurant  food menu has very limited items. After receiving the shuttle request  Management should have been on top of picking up the guests from the airport and tracking the flights instead of emailing me back on 29 stating that Expedia did not tell them about the reservations on time.

Communication sometimes challenging - staff helpful and eager, but english not always well understood. Lack of reliable wifi, and could not make international calls - can feel a bit isolating.
