Guest Reviews
- Jennie (1/5): Do not recommend anymore... - It was close to where I was going fir the weekend. They were going to charge me again even though I paid through Booking.com, said I had to pay or call Booking.com. so I did. TVs didn't work the entire weekend even though I said something several times. Cleaning people didn't clean but left their cleaning supplies in the room and so much more. I have stayed here several times and it has always been great....for the price they have failed miserably.
- Joseph (6/5): -
- Rabal-Wyatt (7/5): We had a suite. It was clean and nice - Anything that was store bought. The breakfast was undoubtedly the worst I ever had at a hotel that included a breakfast. May I ad the coffee would come under the description as “ mud water”. Thanks for at least having cold cereal.
- William (4/5): - Three day stay, housekeeping did not clean room/provide clean towels once.
- Angela (1/5): My dad loved and trusted the Marriott name. He would be saddened to see how downhill it has become. - We booked a hotel because it had an indoor pool. Upon arrival we were told the pool was closed, that although they said it was 8o% occupied, that they would not give me an upgraded room or a refund due to the pool being closed. That the pool was not guaranteed. Yes they actually said that. Never booking Marriott again. What a shame to lure customers with an indoor pool a not informing you that it isn’t available.
- Keith (8/5): Being was great using booking.com was not. They dodnt send over everything to the hotel and then couldn’t get a hold of - Property was great. The booking.com part was horrific. Never use booking again. Booking.com was the only thing that ruined the stay
- Cynthia (9/5): -
- Steven (7/5): - The suite was comfortable, albeit a bit small and congested for a suite accommodation. THE BREAKFAST. I skipped and ate at a great local eatery. The choices were unbecoming for a Marriott of this level! Such a disappointment! Instant oatmeal in envelopes. Egg fritattas that looked manufactured in some plant several months ago. Unappealing, unfresh bakery items as well. Come on Marriott, get on the ball!
- Peter (6/5): - Stay was very nice, till check out. Hotel billed me $27 after we checked out. Contacted Hotel , they dont know what i was billed for , they were going to look into it. But never heard back.
- David (10/5): - Staff friendly and helpful
- GEORGE (10/5): - Outstanding hotel! Great room, great location. Safe and accessible to food, shopping, and local attractions.
- jerry (10/5): - Everything was great except beds where extremely hard and uncomfortable
- Karson (9/5): Overall very please for the privacy and the stay for what we paid. - Loved the tvs having Netflix! Happy to have remotes that can be cleaned properly. My kids thought the mints in the room were the best thing in the world. Enjoyed the space. Couch was very worn and didn’t have a pleasant smell.
- Joan (7/5): Mediocre at best. - I had to leave by 6am. Breakfast didn't start until 6:30 which was disappointing. The price was outrageous for the quality of the hotel. There were also $80 worth of taxes and fees added to the quote I was given.
- Shannon (8/5): - Would definitely stay again!
- Tamika (7/5): -
- Judith (2/5): - Ants crawling all over the living room floor and bathroom. Catfood on the floor in the bathroom, smelled like cat urine.
- Kim (10/5): - It was as described and pictured.
- 462oliviae (2/5): Find somewhere else to stay!! - The front desk staff kicked me and my baby out of our room at 11pm because they said my parents’ puppy (parents and puppy were staying in a separate room from me) nipped at someone in the elevator. This was out of characteristic of the dog so I asked to see the video that she said they had proof of. She then threatened me and called the cops on me for asking questions about the incident. She was extremely unprofessional, rude and still did not provide any evidence of an incident happening and no warning given to any of us and left us with no place to stay so late at night. And again this was not even my dog and I had my own room! We were still charged for the night along with additional charges coming through our cards this morning. I will never stay here again and plan on contacting all of their higher ups for treating me and my family this way. We will never stay at this location again and will never stay at a TownePlace Suites again. If I could leave a negative star review I most certainly would. Stay at your own risk because you may get kicked out with no warning and no questions allowed.
- Mahender (9/5): Superb - Good NA
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional - The Breakfast was great with excellent choices. Clean area to eat 👍👍 The one thing that was missing is the outside awning cause it was raining a was getting wet loading an unloading the vehicles.
- Tarasha (8/5): Very good -
- Melesa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tim (10/5): - Very comfortable beds, we had a nice stay.
- Queron (9/5): Superb -
- Coleman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Timothy (4/5): Very disappointed for the cost - Reserved a two bedroom suite for a family stay. Neither bedroom has functioning heat on our first night in 20 degree weather. The bedroom light switch turned off the wall lights and outlets beside the bed which included the alarm clock and usb outlets to charge phones. If you leave the wall switch on, the other wall light in the room stayed on. Very inconvenient We requested a room change which was accommodated but the door on the room given to us would not latch or lock. They did not have another room available to us. We ended up shortening our trip. They did offer to refund our second night without issue. Service was good and breakfast was not bad either.
- Patricia Janeth Ramirez (4/5): - Housekeeping never made on my room basic accesories never replaced on the bathroom. People on the lobby no customer service sense at all
- Kimberly (10/5): Will be back!! - Great facility, beautiful rooms. Clean lobby and eating area. Staff was very nice and helpful. Would highly recommend anyone stay here.
- Lorrie (4/5): - I will not stay here again. I requested rooms next to each since our son was staying in a separate room and when I called they confirmed they would assign the rooms. When we checked in they could only assign us room 6 rooms away down the hall. Also our room was not cleaned by house keeping for the 3 days we stayed. I called the front desk and nothing was done to resolve. Terrible service.
- Mary (10/5): - Great Hotel and staff was very helpful and accommodating. The rooms were bigger than expected and equipped with work needs and kitchen.
- ShelbyOH (8/5): One man's art... - Generally speaking, this is a fine hotel for its purpose, and I generally like the decor, but in the bathroom, there is one of finest examples of corporate art, meant to encourage and support you. I have no idea what school of corporate design they went to...
- Yelena (10/5): - Very pleasant staff
- Wolford (10/5): Clean, comfortable, great staff - Very nice and clean property. There was a female bartender the night we were there who was so sweet and kind and made for a very fun night with our group, despite being in town for a funeral. Getting to the property is confusing. My gps tried to take me through Sam’s club parking lot.
- N8215GCjamiew (2/5): Beware - I travel frequently and have never had an issue. I checked out and left the TVs unplugged and was charged $250.00 for "damages" and was sent pictures of multiple wires pulled out and electronic box on a table- stating I had done this which is a flat out lie and complete fabrication. The manager, Angela Franklin, and the district manager Corey were passive and unhelpful. You are safer staying elsewhere. When looking there are multiple google reviews sharing similar occurrences! Be ware! You stay at your own risk.
- Amanda (6/5): - The property itself is fine, however, the pool was closed for the duration of our stay. Which is really disappointing because we booked it specifically because of the pool. I also didn’t know this until I brought my kids down in their bathing suits to go in to see a sign on the door, and when I asked the front desk she didn’t know it was closed either and didnt know when it would open. Also, the wall conditioner was empty when I went to use it again, didn’t realize this until I was already in the shower and you couldn’t open it to try and get any out. Honestly, without the pool, wasn’t really worth the price. I wish we had stayed somewhere cheaper since the pool is what I paid the extra for.
- Danielle (4/5): Disappointing - Location was nice, easy off the highway The room had ants and when I reported it they didn't even offer a discount or anything. Just wrote it down and dismissed me.
- Cyril Hao Zhen (8/5): - Close to restaurants
- Jera (10/5): comfortable and safe - Everyone is always so accommodating- the rooms are clean and I feel safe The price is difficult to accept for a one or 2 night stay, it is so expensive. However, I would chose here often if money wasn't a factor for us.
- Armyproud (10/5): Excellent front desk and staff - Amanda and the front desk were very knowledgeable, kind, patient and made the stay a very nice experience. Excellent, clean and definitely recommend!Great location and the rooms and pool were very clean and well kept! Excellent staff and will return !
- Carolyn (9/5): Superb -
- Carolyn (9/5): Just sharing - Exceptional staff customer service. Communication, professionalism and friendly. Noise barrier between rooms sucks. The wall paper separated in the corner, looks like black mole. Also I appreciate the presence of a full body mirror but I do not feel it should be located next to the bed.
- Dustin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennie (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were amazing, room was clean and spacious. Nothing, except my trip was too short.
- Valeri (9/5): Pleasantly surprised - Diog friendly n pretty ckean Rock hard bed was very uncomfortable and my partner likes firm but not rock hard. Breakfast was just ok.
- Timothy (10/5): I came to town to buy a horse and it made my trip to have such a wonderful place to stay. - The staff was unbelievable. So nice and very knowledgeable about the area and help with restaurants. Nothing. Everything was wonderful!
- Delores (10/5): Great - It was a good one night get away live this hotel
- Maria (10/5): - It was a very clean hotel.
- Anna (10/5): It was nice - It was quite and clean The bedrooms didn’t have smart tvs so you couldn’t watch Netflix or anything
- Mark (6/5): Pleasant -
- Beth (9/5): Superb -
- Jeffery (6/5): - Pick this hotel because of the amenities.. The rooms were exactly what we wanted, but unfortunately, their swimming pool was closed and they did not tell us that was closed. That was one of the main reasons. We've picked this hotel and we were not very happy with it.
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Angela the General Manager was great. She helped us move in sooner than our arrival time as we had a toddler with us. The front desk person (lady with pixie braid) was not quite willing to allow us to check in yet. Ot was good customer service and a good teaching point.
Jessica helped in the breakfast area and she was excellent. She recommended certain items and even gave us to go items. My 23 month old grand daughter actually went up to herr today before we left and said her name and gave her a high give without prompting.
The pool was clean and great (I will speak about adjusting things there in the next box.)
Service staff were mostly friendly and helpful. I would appreciate a heads up on the guest service staff checking pool chemistry. We had just got to the pool at 5p.m. last night about 5:30 p.m. the front desk guy says he needed us to get out for 15 minutes. I did not understand as he did not explain. Another family had just arrived in the pool as well. Apparently he needed to check the Ph level of the water. It would be nice to 1, Put a sign on the window ir at the desk that the water chemistry needs checked at certain times and that the staff will ask you to get out of the pool for a short while. He did not say much other than we needed to get out for 15 minutes. 2. I was a pool manager and you can check the water chemistry without having everyone clear the pool. The water was turbid but it appeared okay. If chemicals needed to be added to the pool we would be out for longer than 15 minutes, so his ask did not make sense. Lastly as a customer service representative he could be coached on ways to make sure customers don't feel imposed on when they are told the pool is open from 6-11p.m. No one said anything about a pool chemistry check at any time. He did not offer an apology or polite request. He said "I need to close the pool for 15 minutes." We were only in for 25 minutes the other family for 10 minutes. It ruined my experience with my granddaughter in the water as she was upset we had to get out so soon.
The food.
You all have good options however consider diabetics with your protein choices. Most of the options were carb heavy. Perhaps regular eggs without the bagel would be good. The first morning you did offer omelets and kiche which were great.
- Roger (10/5): - I arrived after midnight and was tired from the long drive. The desk clerk was very helpful in getting me checked in quickly. He even made sure I had a room on the floor that I requested. The room was quite pleasant. Everything was clean and fresh. Breakfast in the morning was hot and tasty. I've never stayed here before but will again when I'm in the area.
- Andrew (8/5): - Was very good
- T8754TUtinas (2/5): THE WORST STAFF & HOTEL EVER!!!! - My husband and I checked into the Townplace on August 9th the front desk clerk with the pretty red hair was very kind and professional. Unfortunately Brandi was rude ,disrespectful with a very poor attitude. By day three I had enough my room wasn't getting cleaned staff wasn't friendly and to make matters worse there was a ROACH crawling around in the breakfast area. I complained to the General manager Angela about the situation she went on to say that I can basically leave because I'm on the Military rate and I'm not on official orders with the government. SMH!!! My husband served this Country for 25 years and my understanding from Marriott corporate you don't have to be on official military orders to use the discount. I would sleep in my car before I ever Step foot on this property. Angela you are RUDE disrespectful women and have No Respect for the Men and women who have served this country. Run from this place if you're a retired Veteran!
- Tracy (10/5): Great stay - My room was very clean & comfortable and the staff was top notch
- Suzanna (6/5): - the hotel was overall nice and clean. the breakfast area was very cramped and did not have a good layout. The breakfast time was also very limited. The pool was closed on Saturday & Sunday for cleaning???? What hotel closes and cleans their pool on the weekend, the busiest time??? we had a King size bed and pullout, the pullout pushed up against the bed. If you were sleeping on the far side of the bed you had to climb/crawl across the bed to get out. The rooms were not very spacious at all.
- Chelsea (9/5): Superb -
- Quentin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wesley (9/5): My stay was a great experience. - Easy check in, comfortable beds, clean The price is kinda expensive.
- CHRIS (2/5): Not Much Positive to Say - The check-in was excruciating but that was more on my bank than on the hotel. The room had a mildew smell, and the A/C blew out slightly cooler air than just running the fan. The toilet seat is barely fastened on. The breakfast consisted of just two types of tiny breakfast sandwiches which seemed microwaved. The attached photos will show the extent of their breakfast. Every hotel I've stayed at either had the simple continental breakfast, or the full breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, waffle maker etc --- the works. I was sorely disappointed. And maybe that was on me for expecting that. The hotel clerk told me my rate was very good because normally this goes for $350-400 a night. "You've got to be kidding me," I thought. It all "appears" nice and trendy but is 2 out of 10 at best! And the elevators... both of their elevators STUNK like someone brought rotting fish from Lake Erie and left them in the elevators for the weekend. It made me and my nephew so nauseous that we had to start using the stairs. There is nothing about this stay that is worth even what I paid. I don't recommend staying here.
- Anonymous (10/5): It was a great place to stay. Just pricey. - Close by most stuff to do. The price
- Katrena (8/5): Excellent staff - The breakfast had great options and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was only until 9am and we like end time of 10 am.
- Justin (6/5): Holliday Inn Express will for sure take away from this location. - the property is nice, but seems like it may have been rushed in the finish department. the billing and continual charges to the credit card is VERY annoying.
- Trisheena (2/5): - I was charged for two room after my room was switched because the tv didn’t work. The pool never works!
- Karen (10/5): - What a great location hotel is new and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly
- 819noellew (2/5): Beware of pet policy - It would have been a great stay except for the $100 pet fee charged to our room after we left. It took me three days of calling to get a manager on the phone, Cory or Angie. I had the pleasure of dealing with rude Angie. The website stated that $100 pet fee “will be assessed” per visit. When reading that I assumed the fee applied if your pet left a mess. We only stayed at the hotel for 12 hours. If you are going to charge that much to have a pet stay at the hotel then say “room will be CHARGED” not assessed. Assessed implies there will be a judgement made about whether or not to apply the fee.
- Kristen (8/5): - My only complaint was their inability to handle online check ins. I specifically checked in online and was told all I would have to do is pick up my room key. Instead, I had to provide ID, a phone number and let them swipe my credit card for "incidentals". There was absolutely no benefit to checking in online. The front desk staff told me that their system can't handle the early check in system.
- Clay (10/5): - Front desk was very nice. Breakfast nook lady was very friendly
- Carin (10/5): Wonderful experience! - All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was great with a full size refrigerator, stove top, microwave and dishwasher. The room and bathroom were very clean! The bed was actually comfortable. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you.
- Kimberly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (5/5): Passable -
- frankhamay (10/5): Absolutely amazing hotel - Unfortunately this hotel is expensive but it really is worth it. E/thing is so stylish & classy. Check in was very friendly & I was granted a top floor room when I asked. I only stayed 1 night but I could easily live here full time. E/t you could possibly need is there (including a dishwasher). Pool is nice size & heated. The fitness center actually had 2 dumbbell racks. B/fast doesn’t start til 6:30a but is free & REALLY good. A great Woman of GOD takes care of the b/fast buffet. Parking for several trucks makes this one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in a while. Highly recommended. Be blessed!
- Ted (10/5): - Nice place.
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Frank (6/5): Pleasant -
- LaSonya (10/5): - I like this hotel because it felt like home and I had great service. I like that everyone was polite.
- Donald (10/5): see above - The little touches made the stay very comfortable. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower. The mint on the bed. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom. I would liked some disposable cups for the coffee in the room.
- MooresvilleNC (10/5): What a Great Stay - The room is great: spacious, comfortable, well designed, plenty of storage place. The bathroom was so clean! There is just so much storage room everywhere. The bed was incredibly comfortable.
Wifi is excellent and reliable, no sign in required.
Breakfast was great too, changing every other day or so, a few healthy options.
Best hotel of this category I have stayed at for work.
Staff was also super friendly and helpful. Be it front desk, breakfast staff or bar. Hope to stay there again when in Mansfield!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I was overcharged and have called several times. My invoice was $169 with tax and the more charged me $202 with tax. Orbitz has called on my behalf as well. I was also told the breakfast ended at 9am. Got up at 9 and ordered food elsewhere only to come down and find out it ended at 9:30z.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Tracie (8/5): Overall nice - We had a dirty towel left in the bathroom and hair in the shower when we arrived. Honestly not a huge deal. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was a bit hard, but the rooms looked new, so maybe the mattress was, too. Aestheticly, it was very nice, but wallpaper was peeling.
- Steven (10/5): I had a great stay and plan on staying at this hotel every time I’m in the area. - Everything was great.
- John (10/5): convenient. comfortable and friendly - pet friendly. multiple rooms location
- Jason (8/5): - We have stayed here several during several visits to the area. This has been the first time the cleanliness rating did not meet expectations. Overall a good visit with opportunities for improvement cleaning common areas.
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Benjamin (10/5): - Fantastic hotel! Our room was clean and spacious. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. Location was great. Close to everything but far enough off the road to be quiet and welcoming. Outdoor seating area was a welcome bonus. We will definitely be back!
- Verified traveler (4/5): ANTS - poor service - bad air conditioning - We had ants in our room - lots and lots of ants - everywhere! We told the front desk and they did nothing. There was a rolling table under the desk and when we pulled that out to use, it had ants all over it as there was some type of left over sticky substance on it. Obviously had not been cleaned and that was attracting ants. We told them again and they said that maintenance had not gotten back to them. They then told us that they were replacing the siding and that ants were coming through - so this was a known problem! When we checked out we reiterated the problem but to no avail. It is also worth noting that the air conditioning system is a bit odd. You have your own thermostat which regulates a wall system. When the temp falls to a certain degree the system goes on and its quite loud. It went off and on all night making it impossible to sleep.
- Cindy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (3/5): Poor -
- Scott (10/5): - The only thing I could say that would need improving on was the way breakfast was done but it still wasn't bad just a small space for a big hotel
- Isuredotravelalot (2/5): As a Titanium Elite Marriott member for the last 3 years, this hotel SUCKED - First off the room had 3 thermostats and ALL of them were preset to a limit and required motion for them to reach the desired temperature. When I am paying for a hotel room, YOU DO NOT GET TO SAVE MONEY ON MY ROOMs ELECTRICITY. Im all for saving the environment but these hollow systems only serve to save the owners money at the guest's comfort expense. Secondly when I called to the front desk to ask them to adjust it, the disinterested 'i don't really care' guy said he would tell maintenance. I had ZERO follow up and zero change to way the temperature worked. When i went downstairs in the morning tog et breakfast, there was a rude obnoxious woman there who had to 'help you' get your buffet breakfast. Having staying in 20-30 hotels this year alone I can assure you that was ONLY at that One facility NO OTHER HOTELS have such an ignorant system. I can assure you that I will never stay there again and I strongly advise you not to either. OVERALL AWFUL!
- Cheryl (10/5): 4 start - Great place. Worked well for my family. Staff was very courteous and timely.
Only negative was the sofa bed was horrible.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beware of double charge - Front desk clerk couldn't figure out computer system of hiw to check people in. Hotels.com charged me and the hotel charged me. I had to call the hotel to get my credit card reimbursed from the double charge. Beware....this has happened before at same hotel chain.
- Joe (2/5): - My family and I made a reservation here through Expedia. When we got to room 220 it stank of urination. I went back down and explained it. The manager even said it stunk. But because we booked through Expedia they could not swap rooms. So I had to pay full price for another room. The front desk was very nice. And even gave me a card with her name and everything soni could get a refund. Instead of a refund Expedia gave me a 25 dollar voucher. I am no happy with this at all. Oh and I am a spire elite ihg member as well.
- hzrudegirl (8/5): Great place for a work trip! - While working in Ohio for a week we were put up in the TownPlace Suites! Kitchen was a great luxury, loved the closet space. The bed was comfy, bathroom was well laid out. TVs have the Netflix and YouTube sign in, as well as decent channel selection on cable. There was a lot of places nearby for food and coffee, as well as stores to get supplies! I would definitely stay here again if I had to return to the area!
- Shannon (10/5): Excellent Stay - Very clean. Friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ski Trip - Stayed here for our family ski trip. Room was dirty and pool was unavailable. Service at breakfast was good. Coffee machine was broke.
