The onsen (one decent sized with both an inside and outside onsens), one with a square which was too hot, and one the size of a bath - are all lockable from the inside so it's "public" but actually private because no one will see you nude. The "shared bathroom", was irrelevant because you have a toilet in your room and you're already washed from onsen. We felt like the only guests there as only bumped into someone at the end. We agreed 8.30 for breakfast but was chased to eat it at 8.10?

• Kayla (10/5): Amazing! - This was a great way to have a ‘traditional Japanese’ experience. Room was clean and staff were exceptional. The outdoor onsens were clean however as you would expect slightly water marked from the obvious water exposure. This did not impact cleanliness! We had the dinner and once again staff were amazing! The food isn’t what I’d usually eat but I enjoyed the experience. If you don’t love raw fish I still encourage this experience as something fun to do and try but I packed some extra snacks.
• Ilaria (4/5): - Partiamo dal presupposto che è una struttura che si propone come autentica e dormire sul tatami è sicuramente un'esperienza autentica, però c'è una sottile differenza tra autentica e vecchia e la struttura è vecchia. Ci sono dei chiari segni di usura nella doccia, nella vasca esterna, nella maniglia che dalla doccia da verso la vasca e nella maniglia che dall'esterno va verso l'interno dell'unità. Il personale è davvero fantastico in pieno stile giapponese, molto gentile e professionale, nulla da dire per questo aspetto. La struttura è un po' approssimativa su tanti aspetti: maniglie scrostate, futon usurati, frigo vecchio e rumoroso, doccia con mattoni consumati, vasca esterna con mattoni incrostati. La struttura è autentica ma anche vecchia. Abbiamo pagato davvero troppo per una camera vecchia e non curata

• Indiana (4/5): Traditionnel mais décevant pour le prix - La gentillesse du personnel. Les trois onsen de l’hôtel. On ne nous a pas prévenu qu’il n’y avait pas de chef ni de petit déjeuner. L’hôtel est un peu éloigné du centre. Nous avons dû dormir avec un bruit de générateur malgré les fenêtres fermées.

• Ada (10/5): 非常感谢温馨的招待，非常满足带给家人很不错的体验！后续再次光顾 - ファミリーで泊まらせ頂きました。 立地が良くて、目の前にきれいな川があって、近くに観光地もあります。 住的房间里有私汤，即便住没有私汤的房间也没关系，因为有共用的私汤可以泡。不比能容纳几百人的大酒店，这里的旅馆可以完全不用担心周围其他旅客的行动，按照自己的节奏享受温泉体验，非常棒！值得推荐！

The staff was so super friendly and both the breakfast / dinner were amazing. We loved our room that had all the amenities and they really went extra mile to ensure we had everything for the kids. I loved that we could use the private onsen, that was great for the family. They even have gear so the baby could join us as well. I cannot rave about this place enough, the staff was so absolutely nice. Thank you so much!! Nothing.

• Ashley (10/5): The stay was relaxing, rustic and romantic. - 3 private onsens(to be used privately as a couple or family)drawing from a natural hot spring. A spacious room where we could hear the creek flowing. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful and gave us a premade list of nearby places to eat. I don’t believe there is anything to truly dislike. It is an older building that has been taken care of but is more classical ryokan and less modern hotel.

Dalla stazione meglio prendere un taxi per arrivare al ryokan, ho amato molto l'atmosfera tranquilla e rilassata. Consigliabilissimo! Forse da migliorare la colazione, ma potrebbe essere stata una dimenticanza dello staff non servire il te (abbiamo comunque provveduto direttamente) e non spiegare le pietanze (invece durante la cena si erano prodigati a raccontarci cosa stavamo mangiando e come farlo) .

• Egoitz (10/5): Lugar mágico - Nuestra estancia fue simplemente perfecta. Desde el primer momento, nos recibieron con una amabilidad que nos hizo sentir como en casa. El lugar es acogedor, cuidado al detalle, y los onsens privados son una auténtica maravilla. Quizás el inglés no lo hablen con total fluidez, pero hay un idioma que dominan mejor que nadie: el del cariño, la hospitalidad y el respeto. Ese lenguaje universal que no necesita palabras, y que se siente en cada sonrisa, en cada gesto y en cada saludo amable. Sin duda, un lugar al que volveríamos sin pensarlo.

It's a 20min-walk to Yumoto station, which was fine for us as we travelled with backpacks. The room was a bit cold, but there is in-room heating, so you can adjust the temperature

Das Zimmer ist wunderschön eingerichtet und hat einen Onsen und das Gästehaus verfügt über drei weitere größere Bäder, die man ebenfalls nutzen kann. Ein richtiger Ort zum Entspannen. Es gab vor Ort direkt keine Möglichkeit für ein Abendessen, wir haben aber einen sehr leckeren Tipp bekommen für ein Restaurant in der Nähe.

• Albert (10/5): Great value for a classic ryokan experience! - Three shared onsens were each beautifully equipped and didn't require a reservation. kaiseki dinner was phenomonal and fun. Breakfast was top notch as well, and the local mochi check in gift was great as well. Rooms are very large and feels like a traditional japanese ryokan. Hotel is a bit of a walk from nearest public transit and there aren't as many food/shopping operations in the immediate vicinity. However, the main highlight is to enjoy the amenities offered.

• Dent (10/5): A wonderful and relaxing cultural experience - Beautiful traditional ryokan with excellent private onsens. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. They kindly catered to my partner who is vegetarian for the meal service. Food was delicious. We would highly recommend. N/A

• Giulia (10/5): Esperienza indimenticabile - La struttura è meravigliosa, lo staff ha fatto di tutto per aiutarci. Siamo arrivati molto in ritardo per la cena e hanno fatto in modo di farci cenare comunque. La camera è spaziosa e pulitissima. Torneremo sicuramente!

• MENGXUAN (9/5): 非常棒！ - 私汤非常不错，有三种浴池，还有露天浴池，非常舒适。房间也很干净宽敞。工作人员的中国小哥非常细心，还帮我们推荐了吃饭的地方。 距离箱根汤本站和巴士站稍微远了一点，特别是去的时候一直是上坡路，有点累。

• Katrina (9/5): Welcoming and traditional Japanese experience - Incredible hospitality and a real authentic Japanese experience. The staff were lovely and very friendly, and it was such an incredible experience to have the tatami flooring and traditional slippers and kimono. The onsen were very luxurious but traditional. We recommend the room with private onsen - enjoy your morning coffee outside in the hot spring!

Dinner, the food was boring and lack creativity. Breakfast was better with lots of varieties and was a lot of food. The location was not near any activities or shops.

• 渡辺 (10/5): よくなかった点はほとんどなく、すごくステキなお部屋にお風呂、スタッフの方々の対応もよく、とてもステキな宿泊でした！ - 旅館についてからスタッフの方が施設の説明などを一緒に旅館をまわりながら丁寧にしてくれたことや、貸切風呂が３つもあった店。 22時くらいにお部屋のお水が断水してしまってトイレと洗面所が使えなくなってしまった点（少し経ったら使えるようになった。）

• Thomas (8/5): Tolles japanisches Royakan-Style Haus mit privatem Onsen - zu empfehlen - Sehr guter japanischer Royakan Stil mit Onsen, abseits der Mainstream Hotels in Japan, dh sehr local und original gehalten. Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal, wie immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind grossartig und haben private Aussenbecken. Es gibt nicht viel zu bemängeln. Auf der einen Seite täte dem Yushintei zumindest ein Frühstück gut, und sei es japanisch geprägt. Auch sollte man sich grundsätzlich damit anfreunden, keinen Schrank zu besitzen. Für die Lage kann Yushintei wenig, es liegt 10 Min Fußweg von der Hauptstrasse.
