rosanne (9/5): Super leuke tijd gehad - Heel kindvriendelijk. Heel leuke activiteiten Onze zoon verbrande zich aan de jacuzzi terwijl hij er in aan het spelen was. Niet zo veilig voor kleine kinderen. Hoewel de eigenaar heel behulpzaam en lief was om meteen de eerste hulp toe te dienen

Verena (10/5): Toller Farm Aufenthalt in einem süßen Cottage - Tolle Farm absolute Empfehlung. Wir waren im Cottage Postures und umgeben von Kühen und Weiden. Es war toll. Für Kinder ein Traum. Es gibt ein Programm mit Reiten, Eselführen, Angeln, Pizza backen und vieles mehr. Es gibt 2 tolle Spielplätze und einen Pool. Im Cottage Postures gibt es auch einen hot tub, den man selber befeuern kann und eine Grillstelle. Im Farmshop kann man vieles einkaufen wie frische Eier, Milch, Fleisch zum Grillen, einen Burger oder Grillkorb. Wir kommen wieder 🤗

Kara (8/5): Lovely cottage stay along the garden route - A beautiful stay in a dairy farm! The staff was lovely and the grounds were gorgeous. If you’re getting in late at night, it can be somewhat tricky to navigate, make sure you save the directions!

Julián (10/5): Lugar de ensueño - Qué lugar tan maravilloso!!!!! Esta granja idílica en medio de la naturaleza nos ha conquistado. La casa en la que estábamos alojados era perfecta, limpia, decorada con muy buen gusto, materiales de muy buena calidad y equipada con todo lo necesario y más. La cama era muy cómoda y todo estaba hecho para sentirse como en casa. Nos quedamos con ganas de hacer todas las actividades que el lugar ofrece. Cenamos las pizzas que hacen allí y estaban deliciosas, el desayuno también nos encantó y se nota que está elegido con mucho detalle y cariño. Levantarse con las vacas en “el jardín” es una experiencia que no voy a olvidar nunca. También dimos un paseo a caballo por el bosque y fue una de las mejores experiencias de nuestro viaje. Estamos deseando volver.

Juliane (10/5): Just Amazing! Die beste Familienunterkunft auf der Garden Route - Einfach fantastisch, mit Kindern die beste Unterkunft in ganz Südafrika die wir hatten! Hot Tub, Pferde reiten, Esel und Pferde füttern, eigener Bushwalk zum Wasserfall mit Affen auf dem Weg, Fahrradverleih, Kayak fahren, Swimmingpool und 2 Spielplätze. Was will man mehr. Zudem zentral und in 15 Minuten am Strand. Die Unterkunft ein Traum! Bequeme Betten und Blick in den Urwald einfach toll!

Kaythlin (10/5): We absolutely loved our stay here. It’s an amazing place for families. - We loved everything about it despite the bad weather we had during the stay. We loved the setting of the cottages, the homey feel and the kids fell in love with the horses and everything there was to do on the property. The only thing to keep in mind is that larger supermarkets are further away so you need to plan this a bit.
Ellen (10/5): Familienparadies im Grünen mit Affen, Abenteuern und Wohlfühl-Cottage - Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön außerhalb von Wilderness gelegen. Unser Farm Cottage lag wunderschön, mit riesigem Garten, Blick in dicht bewachsene Bäume, Sträucher in denen morgens die Affen saßen, spielten und einen beobachteten. Für Kinder ein Paradies - viele Spielplätze, Aktionen wie Ponyreiten buchbar und vieles mehr. Das Cottage war perfekt ausgestattet, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und lies keine Wünsche offen. Kleines Highlight, der kleine Gemeinschaftspool neben großem Spielplatz an einer Kuhweide.

The staff is wonderful and very helpful, the surrounding area offers beautiful views, and all the attractions are a short drive away. The cottages are beautifully finished and equipped with everything you need. There's also an on-site shop where you can buy food, drinks, enjoy a good coffee from the espresso machine, and much more. I recommend this place and would gladly return, even though I live far away in Denmark.
Markus (10/5): Genialer Ort für Familien zum Wohlfühlen und Entspannen - Wir waren in der Pastures Cottage, was anscheinend das neueste von allen Cottages war, und das war der Hammer! Eine eigene kleine Hütte, die gut als privates Wochenendhaus durchgehen könnte mit zwei Schlafzimmern, zwei Bädern (Dusche + WC) mit jeweils eigenem Eingang, eine kompakt geschnittene Wohnküche mit allem was man braucht und einer großzügigen Terrasse mit einer Aussicht über die halbe Range und eigener Feuerstelle zum Grillen und jetzt kommts: einem eigenen kleinem Hottube, der mit Feuer zu beheizen war. Für alles gab's eine genaue Anleitung, falls man selbst nicht klarkommt. Feuerholz gabs an der Rezeption zum selberholen. Sogar ein Schubkarren stand zum Transport bereit. Wir hatten ein Frühstück für den ersten Morgen bestellt: das wurde uns bereits vor der Ankunft in unserem Kühlschrank deponiert und war einfach Mega! Zur Verpflegung gibt es in der Rezeption einen kleinen Shop, in dem man Fleisch, Brot, Butter, selbstgemachtes Eis und allerlei andere Sachen kaufen kann. Zum Abendessen haben wir nach Beilagen zum Grillen gefragt und es wurde uns ein Salat angeboten: "Für wie viele Personen?".... 5 min später war der Salat fertig und wir haben in samt Dressing mitnehmen können. Wie der geschmeckt hat? Probiert es selber aus! ;-) Außerdem war alles wunderbar geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Es gab zur Begeisterung unserer kleinen Tochter auch einen Pool in kurzer Reichweite sowie Ponnyreiten, Esel streicheln und einen Spielplatz. Ich würde sagen: das war die schönste Unterkunft, die wir während unseres 3-wöchigen Tripps in Südafrika hatten! Nichts!

The little shop was interesting and sold practical and interesting things. There was such care to include people in the farm life and the accommodation was superb.

Top Erreichbarkeit für Fragen. Fliegenklatsche ;) Man muss leider für vieles extra zahlen (angeln, beim Farmer mitfahren, Boot fahren etc). Wir haben den Walk gemacht und er war viiiiiel länger als gedacht. Puhhhh…mit zwei kleinen Kindern etwas uncool. Es war nicht so gut beschrieben.

Daniel (10/5): Perfect stay at the forge - One of the best places if ever stayed in. Big house with pool and hot tub surrounded by nature. We loved the rooms, the beds and especially views. Everyone was very friendly and the whole place is worth a visit. Would love to stay here again one day. Everything was perfect but you need a car, as it is a 15 minute ride away from wilderness.

Ook héél fijn dat bij thuiskomst de hot tub was opgestookt! De oven deed het niet goed, waardoor we de gekochte (diepvries)maaltijden niet konden opwarmen. Werd voortvarend opgelost door een andere oven te plaatsen, maar ook deze werd niet echt goed heet.

Jo (10/5): Wonderful, tranquil venue that is well-run & a visit you won’t regret - We are a family of 5 & stayed in a schoolyard cottage. The unit was clean & beautifully furnished with a hot tub to enjoy. Oakhurst is a working farm so really lovely to see the cows, donkeys and horses. Lots of space to walk/ride bikes & a lake to canoe on. The farm felt safe for our family to relax & explore & the staff are friendly and incredibly helpful. The farm store has lots of lovely items to buy including a wide range of frozen meals, desserts and breads. The WiFi is a little slow and intermittent but we simply put our devices down and played games, read books, went for walks and napped and hung out as a family!

Abigail (10/5): Too beautiful for words - We had such a lovely stay at the forge. This rustic and elegant cottage, tucked away in uninterrupted forest views was absolutely beautiful. The views from all rooms were heavenly. We loved the hot tub, plunge pool and fire place. Kids enjoyed feeding the horses and playing with the jenga blocks, beach toys and scooters they found on the deck. The place was very clean, comfy beds and super crisp linen. Can't wait to return. Stay was too short to explore the farm and all the activities on offer. Wouldve loved to see the waterfall.

The farm cottage, where we stayed, is nestled snugly on the border of the woods. From leisurely exploring the forest, walking to find the waterfall, to fishing/canoeing on the dam, or feeding the livestock. There is something for all nature lovers and my whole family enjoyed it immensely. The hosts are exceptionally friendly and quick to respond via communication channels. A very special treat is the inhouse dining, where one can order breakfast/lunch/dinner baskets, but one of the cherries on this cake HAS to be the fresh farm milk, obtained right on the farm! Thank you for making our stay so comfortable. We'd love to return and can highly recommend this destination. Nothing. Everything was in place.

Nina (10/5): A beautiful cottage in a stunning setting - The cottages were so delightful! The hot tub was a dream, the braai facilities and general kitchen equipment was everything we needed. We loved the braai baskets we ordered, and the other pre-made baskets looked amazing too. The setting is absolutely gorgeous and there are so many things to do at the farm. We went for a lovely walk and would have done more had we been staying for longer. The staff were so friendly , helpful, and accommodating. I booked for a very big group and everyone absolutely loved it. Such a wonderful place - we would love to come back next time we are in South Africa! Honestly I cannot think of anything we didn't like!
Brendan (10/5): This was pure bliss! The best garden route stay we've had in many years. Absolutely wonderful place! - Our stay at Oakhurst was just exceptional. It completely exceeded our expectations. This is pure bliss and wilderness in every sense of the word. We stayed in the Forge (bungalow) which was basically a 2 bedroom farmhouse surrounded by trees and beautiful shrubs and plants. Very spacious and excellently appointed house with big windows overlooking the vast forest scenery during the day and the moon and stars at night. We were greeted by grazing horses virtually on our doorstep - magical! This was truly a stress free zone (as the arrival sign stated). Woodfired hot tub and pool just off the covered patio deck, You can lose yourself outside for hours. The stress of the big city just melts away as you enter and re-enter the hot tub. There was even a beautiful outdoor shower between the shrubs, lit by fairy lights and wooden log steps. Just pure magic! We loved every single minute, including the horse riding tour and bass fishing in the dam. They have a lovely farm shop with excellent fresh produce and meats for the braai (there are convenient braai and breakfast baskets on offer which gets delivered to your cabin - all you need to do is light the fire and sit back and relax). Easily the best farm stay we have ever had. If you are looking for a relaxing stay in nature to help de-stress, this is absolutely it. We will definitely be back soon for a longer stay. Absolutely nothing.

Kim (10/5): Spectacular surprise in the countryside, yet still very accessible to Wilderness main village. - We were so pleasantly surprised by Oakhurst and would have loved to have stayed longer. Although it is a farm our accommodation was so luxurious with top quality bedding, towels and all appliances. We stayed in the Pastures cottage and it was so beautiful to wake up and see the bushbuck grazing in the fields. Beautiful scenery all around. We really enjoyed the mountain bike ride - even though it was really challenging. Unfortunately the weather wasn't ideal but we still used both the pool and hot tub. And the farm shop is so handy with delicious real farm butter, eggs and milk! The only suggestion would be to add a door to the second bedroom for privacy when there are two adult couples.
